Who truncated regionalism? Who divided the regions into states? You dont know Nigeria history. You must been getting information from only one source and it's the wrong source.

In life you don't eat your cake n have it.
Igbos do not deserve right to demand what you requested. Noone is your fool 4 you to truncate regionalism n bring it back via true or false federalism.

By registering an organization officially, he can speak unguarded as though it was taken at the organization board meeting whereas he is stating personal opinions because it's a one man show. But I doubt he is the only one, he is just the face behind invisible guys that are probably powerful hence he has not be questioned.
LegendHero:
I think he is being financed by some groups in APC. Most of his comments are inciting and sometimes he digress to gratify Buhari government even in situation where they deserve to be scolded.

He will definitely be getting his funding from people in government either North or South. What’s surprising is that most Muslims in the SW don’t know this organization. If not for the media noises, I will not even know MURIC exists.

As a Muslim, I always find the Prof statement ridiculous and the more the authority deal with him, the better for the Yorubas.

Religious tolerance is our pride, we shouldn’t allow someone like Prof Akintola of MURIC to destroy the love and tolerance that have existed among us since the time of our ancestors.
Politics › Re: Let Us Talk About MURIC by DMerciful(m): 9:44pm On Jan 27, 2020
He must have sponsors to push his parayarns to newspaper front pages. I think he is being sponsored by Notthern cabals
LegendHero:
MURIC is not a recognized body and I can bet it that almost 90% of Muslims in the SW in the mosques don’t even know them.

The media houses made MURIC famous by publishing the outrageous message of the body. Prof. Akintola is no way different from Junaid Mohammed and other nonentities used by the media houses to sell their newspaper.

A little search online for the group only showed their blog website where the MURIC called themselves a human right organization.

Prof. Akintola is just enjoying his life and catching cruise in the media by dishing out ridiculous statements everytime. He should not be taken serious by sane minds.

Do you know that Egypt was once a Christian country? They were islamized! The Christians there are living in fear actually and they are not much
Taba21:
I was aware of that and to say since the previous attacked far back 2016 till now there is no other attacks.
Back to the topic, you can't compare the Egyptian Christians with Nigeria own apart from Jehovah witness and church of Mormon in Nigeria.

You are not ashamed to say the rest of Nigeria gang up against 1 tribe? That must be because of envy just as they hate Americans!
cosmos1440:
As for those igbos claiming that the rest of Nigeria hates you. Yes, the rest of Nigeria hates you, because you hated the rest of Nigeria first .
As for your Biafra, you are barking up the wrong tree because it is not the job of the Federal government to give it to you. Those who can give it to you, or at least formally begin it for you, are your own elected legislators at both the state and federal levels, but it has never crossed your hate-filled minds to put the pressure on your legislators to move the motion for referendum to be in the constitution.

Meanwhile, you can continue hating us and when we hate you back, cry wail like the victim you are claiming to be.

Finally, an Igbo will never be the president of Nigeria in 2023.

Zooposki:
Whether it was divide and rule tactics does not matter. They do not want to identify with South East. You guys can form your Biafra without South South.

The North does not vote for BEST, they vote for religion! Obj did not even play any politics, he was broke out of prison. His own people did not vote for him in the general elections and likely even in the primaries. The North believes an Igbo president might have restructuring or secessionist agenda hence deliberately sidelining Igbos. Immediately Yorubas mentioned Amotekun, North started mentioning what Igbos must do to have presidency, something that was a taboo to mention like a year ago
raumdeuter:
The North voted for the person who played the best politics.

Read comments and see how people hate the Igbos but are at the forefront of preventing Biafra actualization. In other words, they want Igbos to remain so they can continue their marginalization. I wonder why hatred for the Igbos is the single factor uniting Nigeria!
Politics › Re: Restructuring: South Has Majority In The Legislative House, North Is A Minority. by DMerciful(m): 7:19pm On Jan 27, 2020
The amendments have been cosmetic! We need to throw away the Illegitimate constitution and WE THE PEOPLE will sit in a sovereign national conference and draft a people's constitution where there will be input from all ethnic nationalities! If we are to amend any constitution,
it has to be 1963 because that was when Nigeria
made the most progress!
naptu2:
Almost all constitutions have this issue. Blacks, women and the poor could not vote when the US constitution was enacted, the United Kingdom was created via marriages and conquests rather than the free will of the people.

However, since then, the people have elected representatives that have been able to amend their constitutions. Similarly, the Nigerian constitution has been amended.

(By the way, each of those constitutions were created or ratified by elected representatives of the people, just like the 1999 constitution is basically the 1995 constitution which was created by elected members of the 1995 constituent assembly).

By the way, someone is asking how come we have a South-South. This was created by Dr Alex Ekwueme at the 1995 Constituent Assembly. He said that people have always been afraid that the north is too big and therefore it will dominate Nigeria and therefore he proposed that there should be three geo-political zones, three in the north and three in the south, so that no zone would feel like it was being dominated. (Years later, he admitted that the idea was designed to reduce the power of the north).

The 6 zones are North-West, North-East, North-Central, South-West, South-East and South-South.

If you are asked to divide a country to North and South, will you divide 2/3 in north and 1/3 into south or you will make it 50/50? What is North about Benue, Kogi, Kwara? They are certainly in the South but fraudulently placed in the North

Zooposki:
What is your business with where South South is? You people are just too annoying. No wonder you have issues with everyone. Imagine dissing so many tribes that have identified as South South.

IBB and Abacha never carried out coup because technically they removed Illegitimate governments. It's only Nzeogwu and Buhari that are coupist because they overthrew or removed democratically elected govts
MayorofLagos:
Even if i invite them they will ignore my invitation. I possess no such powers. If i did have a power like that I would do some very radical things that will change Nigerian structure.

Imagination is powerful. I have a very deep and omni-present imagination.

Because I do not have a power to invite a change of government my radicality is a handicap and of no use but I can express the thought as simple and wisely convenient to do.

There has been precedence, many of it, in which government was overthrown and the govt was changed. After the fact, those radical agents were recognized legally and accepted as heroes of Nigeria.

If you go to government house pictures of Abacha hangs on the wall, Buhari is there, IBB is there. They are precedence cases of what I talk about and no one has ever taken them to court and convicted them for staging coup or for crime against the sovereingty. So I dont see anything wrong in expressing ideas on what could happen in the current political environment.
Politics › Re: Restructuring: South Has Majority In The Legislative House, North Is A Minority. by DMerciful(m): 6:47pm On Jan 27, 2020
The possibility of success is 1/1,000,000. Support Biafra and get Oduduwa republic while Igbos get Biafra and this can happen within 10yrs!
MayorofLagos:
I see your point.

There is a diplomatic option available and I will give example. I know you are aware, but not many people know that Lagos State is a Sister-City to Atlanta City in USA. The constitution has not forbidden cultural fraternity across sovereign boundary. Using Yoruba as an example, cultural identity with Brazil and Cuba. Either of the countries, or both, could sponsor UN intervention on grounds that Yoruba is their Holy Land, as Mecca is to Muslims and Vatican is to Catholics, continued existence of Yoruba in Nigeria is a threat to articles of history and divine faith both of which have tangible values to their people for spiritual growth and sustenance.

Yoruba cannot initiate a UN intervention since it is not a sovereing on its own but another sovereing can initiate one on its behalf and introduce convincing evidence and even call professional historians, anthropologists and theologians to deliver evidence and proof beyond doubt that if Yoruba continues in Nigeria the forces of destruction is a living threat and the Holy Land to millions of Osun and Ifa adherents around the world will suffer an irreparable loss.

That 1999 constitution did not come from a national or sovereign national conference and as such Illegitimate. The people never contributed to the constitution rather it was imposed. Suffice to say we dont have a constitution until a sovereign national conference where all ethnic nationalities will be represented and renegotiate our existence together!
naptu2:
smiley

A lot of these things require constitutional amendment. What is the procedure for amending the constitution and what kind of majority do you need to amend the constitution?

You want autonomy like SS/SE but you keep fighting the interest of these regions even when its fully aligned with autonomy. You support Bubu vehemently as if you believe Bubu will restructure Nigeria. Bubu is the last person on earth that would allow restructuring. I dont understand you at all!
Afam4eva:
We should be fighting for some level of autonomy in the name of regionalism or something similar where the center will not have so much power over the constituents. To that end, i don't care whether the north has more power or not as long as it doesn't carry much weight. Because as it is currently, the south is at the mercy of the North.
Politics › Re: Hypocrisy Of The Nigerian State by DMerciful(m): 9:00am On Jan 27, 2020
Ironsi stayed 6 months. How come Gowon did not revert to regional governments after staying 9 years? We are not going to the regions but the states should be ran thesame way the regions were ran. Full autonomy and true federalism with state police and resource control
Sonnyboom:
Are you implying this was why the igbo dominated coup plotters truncated Regional Government and why are you igbo also so quick to overlook the root cause of the problems in the society, rather you expect everyone to be herd along your myopic sentimental bigoted school of tot. If Nigeria want restructuring what type of restructuring does Nigeria want that we have not practiced before.

I am for restructuring mind you, but you noise making pioneers should tell us what restructuring Nigeria need that we never had when we practiced regional govt n if there was none those that truncated regional government must first be punished to serve as detterent fools with similar intention so such lunacy is not repeated in the future.

Nobody will be jumping back to restructuring just cos some deluded igbo feel it is the next thing after PDP lost the presidential election. Lastly those clamoring should be bold enough to admit it is Regional Government we are reverting to cos among all that was practiced it was only under it Nigeria experienced boomn peace instead of sugarcoating as RESTRUCTURING which is the reason that is not selling.
Politics › Re: Hypocrisy Of The Nigerian State by DMerciful(m): 2:38am On Jan 27, 2020
You dont know your history else you wont be talking trash. You think restructuring will be helpful to Igbos only? Either you restructure or breakup but 1 must happen. You've got it coming!
Sonnyboom:
If you are igbo you are not entitled to any form of restructuring cos u never demanded that from igbo installed president unlike Buhari.

Most of the soldiers that truncated regional govt are Igbos no restructuring can be half as good. If the not is kicking against it the SE should tell us why the destroyed restricting offered in regionalism.

Abiola was insensitive to insist on Muslim-Muslim ticket when we have equal number of muslims and Christians, I'm not saying its important personally but many people believe in balance. I was quite young then but I know my Dad voted for Abiola at the time, he liked Abiola.
0monnak0da:
Not arrogant just realistic.
History has taught that we can count on you to work predictably against us politically in EVERY election in Nigerian history

Why the old Eastern Region ENTIRELY
WHO made that decision?
WHEN?
HOW?

Why NOW

What exactly is the CRISIS?

The only one I can see is GEJ's loss

If June 12 could happen and there was no referendum

Once again?

What is the crisis trigger now?

The fact that you imagine we the Non voting Nigerians in this fantastic referendum project would just roll over and say "Amen"_ is why we call you childish

The other problem is your tendency to lie so glibly for rhetorical effect.
When did you say restructure and we said no.
That is just unserious talk.

We have never been political partners.
Honestly we do not see you as necessarily pivotal to achieving strategic regional objectives. We do not need to explain ourselves to you.We do not have to pursue our objectives in a way you can understand or predict or approve. We do not need your imprimatur.
Individual politicians may woo you in time but strategically you are impulsive and on a different page.

From your comments I am sure if they propose a genuine reconciliation btw East and West, you would oppose it. It seems you're benefitting from the ongoing supremacy contest that's not favouring anyone. I'm a man of peace, you can see from my position, and I like everybody in Nigeria. I have actually stayed in the East for 6yrs and the West for 9yrs and North for 1yr but I am actually from Delta. My drive for Biafra is because the first option which is restructuring is not being considered in earnest but I cannot stay and watch Nigeria continue to fall. If we need to go to a new country to change the constitution and run true federalism and abolish quota system, so be it.

No, just the old eastern region.
Now that it will not include Lagos, I expect support from you and other Westerners. There was healthy competition between the East and the West that made both regions the fastest developing regions in Africa at the time before Nzeogwu and Ironsi ruined it but even though they did not consult with the Igbos and are not representatives of the Igbos(they were never voted for), the Igbos have more than pay the price for their adventures.
Now we say the country currently is not working,
let's restructure, you said NO! Let's break up, you said NO! But you agree it's not working. It's only a tree that will see you coming to cut it but do nothing.
