See harvest today as promised I would share. This is due to the upgrade from 1000w to 1500w. Getting 1121w from a capacity of 1500w from sunshine panels ain't bad.

Yeah feel so great especially when using prepaid meter that way when you switch off PHCN you keep the credit until when needed esp for high loads or poor weather. Kudos Ijeoma660: I added to my PV array to enable my battery fully charge and be on float whilst serving my running loads during the day.
It feels so good to be on free energy most especially when you are on pre-paid metering. |

I do not know about magnum cc but for EPSOLAR, the best is that Voc should be 3-4 times battery voltage while Fangusun flexmax is about 2-3times battery voltage. Read the manual and you will see the recommended Voc or you can experiment.... this is a thread for enthusiasts

|

Friends, Yesterday I added 2*250w panel to my existing 4*250w making a total of 6*250w(1500w). This upgrade is driven by the need to run the pumping machine on inverter which was done successfully with 1000w but the drain on my batteries was appreciable. Also I should go to 70% off grid since my loads on average is about 150w With this addiction I have moved from 2*2 configuration to 3*2 configuration with input Voc @ 106v(thats how epever itracer loves it) See pics of before and after. Will post harvest later today.... Hope the Sun shines well.

The pattern I see is not about you sir. People come to this thread to share information and knowledge as well as to learn. Ofcorse nobody knows it all and as such when someone gives info that you think is not right, you correct nicely. This was so until a guy came and started throwing insults under normal discussion atmosphere. Now I see a pattern where this behavior is being normalised! It is not OK to talk to people in a way that will make them feel bad.... that is not the intent of this thread. This thread is built on mutual respect and if someone does something backstage that you think the forum might help resolve bring it to fore rather than bottle it up only to start venting when it's uncalled for. We do not want a situation where people are not interested in sharing knowledge for fear of being attacked. Peace! teamman: No pattern started sir. When someone is wrong lets call a spade a spade. |

Why do people keep mentioning the vulgar term ass-licking? How does this even relate? I have a feeling people have things in mind but waiting for the slightest opportunity to vent. People may have reduced their interactions cos they are busy. If someone said something that you think is wrong then give the correct version without insinuations. I am.beginning to see a pattern! teamman: Oga stop damaging people's brand with your incorrect analysis. Coscharis stopped bringing the indian flooded tubular battery because of logistics. They spent quite an amount on manpower to fill the batteries with electrolyte. The batteries are brought into the country without electrolyte. They fill them and charge with a generator most times. who bears the cost? Customers who bought the batteries in its dry state fill them up wit the wrong electrolyte and also do not charge them properly hence the complaints. Too much ass licking on this thread. Maturity in its purest form. Thanks Bigrovar bigrovar: In life.. S**t can happen. Go to Amazon / AliExpress review section, even the most highly related item have reviews that would shock you. Same with brick and mortal. It would be so nice to have a place like home depot in Nigeria but alas we do not have the customer base to support such. Kiekie, Juo and many other seller on here have handled thousands of deals that have gone smoothly without issues. How we handle conflicts matter alot.
Even oga George once had issues with someone who claim he got a wrong panel from what was advertised to him. In the end things were resolved. It is important that we always find path of least conflict in all our dealings. Here is an example.
I once bought some used panels from a member here. When the panels were delivered. Found out one had experienced burn out and had a wound. The other was ok but both didn't gave stickers to verify they were truly first grade panels that was claimed. I was very angry and at first felt cheated. Thankfully I calmly involved the seller about my observations. He was sorry and promised to send another panel to replace the bad one. He did.. And added yet another one even though I told him he would receive delayed payment. 2 day I gave 4 extra panel. The one with the burn out still works with almost zero degrade in harvest compared to the rest. And I got it for free. Today me and Seller are still in good terms.
How we handle conflict matters alot. I have once refunded a buyer of my PWM with a replacement after he complained of what I sold him. Till date I never got the replacement. I didn't complain or insult him. Even when he reach out to me recently. Throwing insult will not get any body anywhere.
For sellers : we learn everyday and am sure everyone would have taken a lesson or two from this episode.
Cover yourself : never give warranty beyond what you are given by the product manufacturer.
Never give warranty on a used product. It should be a case of buyers beware.
Spell out the terms of sale. Let the buyer know the level of support he is to expect from you.
No body knows it all. Our sellers have been great for the most part. We should not forget the customized service and support we get from them. Millions naira worth of transactions has taken place here without an hitch with both parties going home smiling. Let's remember that |

That's why I'm here. He referred back to the panel issue like he did me some favor and I need to let this shit out. |

What do you want to achieve by posting the whatsapp chats? He offered a refund and you said you did not want him to run at a loss out of consideration, then why bring it here? If you have let go of the panel transaction out of your own volition, then let go so we know it's only the battery issue that's still open. For the battery, whats your position? Hey kid because it's very stupid of you to have called me a "boy" I have never disrespected you, NO BLACKMAIL HERE
1. You didn't tell me about the solar before purchase, it was after delivery we talked and you mention that.\\ 2. it's not up to 4-5 months, i stated date of purchase in there "1 Sept, 2017" and this is January, I didn't tell you one of the batteries, I wrote the batteries. 3. Now you want your reputation back because some people are against you, you are only beating around the bush, you helped me Did I pay fully eventually or I didn't? I have had cases to buy products from people, as long as I haven't taken the products away from your store, i can pay in "lesser-than-bits" indeed, it's my money and when I finish paying, you deliver... that's an agreement, so no gain saying. 4. Why on earth would you feel something is better for me, you be my papa why would you decide what I will do with my money kid? 5. You sent the panel, I needed POWER than anything else at that point, I can't wait for another 5-7 days for another panel, so I just had to install it that way which I told you. I installed it the next day I picked it up and let you know how horrible the transaction was. I really don't know if you think I have all the time in this world to keep waiting for you to amend your faults. 6. Out of frustration, I demanded a refund but then I felt it's not worth it. I'm not a greedy fellow, there's nothing I want to do with the 10k if I have it back. I'm not wishing you run at loss but then you did something extremely wrong.
I'm posting the whatsapp chats in my next post. |

You were wrong to have sent him a different panel from what he paid for even with whatever good intention you might have. And I also expect him to have accepted the refund given what has happened, I wonder why he did not. For me this is a small issue that spiralled out of control. And I will advice you forget about insults, it's normal when dealing with the public... do u know how much insult The President is facing? Even in this forum we have a guy that throws insult like kilode. Kindly resolve this with him and restore everything back to base JUO: @Kiekie1 can confirm that my refund doesn't take unto 24hrs I sold two batteries to this boy about 4-5 months ago, after a while this boy complained that one of the batteries wasn't performing and i promised to replace it for him but he needs to pay part of the money since he is requesting for a new one and never kept the warranty agreement of adding solar to the setup and we concluded he should contact me whenever he has raised the money. even though he voided the agreement i still promised to replace it. that is for the battery case
Now the real issue (blackmail) I sold the first cc to him, after a while he contacted me that someone took the cc that I should help him again and I said okay. he started paying the money bits by bits. he is using ups as inverter and i believe you all know what that means (nothing to charge the battery) i couldn't wait for him to complete the payment before sending him the cc although he later finished the payment and he was happy. few days later he contacted me again about panel and specifically requested for 200w mono coz he was using 180w mono, I said okay but kept complaining that phcn has gone for over 4 days. since he has started paying I sent him the panel hoping he will not runaway with my money. he wanted 200w but i felt sending him something higher at almost the same price will be better for him since is his personal use and with that the battery will charge faster. instead of 200w mono i sent him 305 poly original panel (almost new) and i told him there was a little a change meanwhile i never told him of any increment, I felt 305 poly will perform better than 200w mono ( but bad). he insisted on knowing the change i asked him to wait until he receives panel. my aim of not telling him about the increase in watts was to surprise him but foolish me. panel got to the destination 5 days (he finally paid up)without his knowledge only for me ask he said he has not received but later went to pick it up and that was when the issues started. the insult was too much for me so i requested for his account number for refund which i never received instead he requested for 10k refund and he will keep the panel or i come to his house and pickup the panel. all i got was insult instead of account number for refund. had to tell him that the cost of the 305w poly to him is 47k that if he is keeping the panel he needs to balance 5k and keep panel or send account for refund or still keep the panel or return it. account number never came insult continued i have no option than to ignor him the next thing i saw was battery transaction. the insult i received from him i have not receive it in the past 10 years |

Why not ignore him? He is trying to be popular but this is not a celebrity thread bigrovar: I can only speak for myself not anyone. I don't get what is meant by known person. Regarding the Juo matter, I reached out to him back stage and to hear his side of the story. From all I got from all he told me is that according to him, the story is longer than what was stated here. There have less than cordial transaction history which raised lots of bad blood. He felt insulted choose not to respond. I have had dealings with Juo before where I got some used battery. 6 in all. 2 where not up to my requirement and Juo insist I return them. In fact he sent me the replacement (at his own cost) before I sent him the faulty batteries. The story here is uncharacteristic of my dealings with him. I do hope that when the blood cools he would come on here to say his own part of the story and most importantly so that both party can come to an acceptable agreement.
It seems you can't open your mouth without using colourful language. Does it make you feel taller or that is just how you were brought up. Issues comes up all the time. Considering the amount of transactions that takes place on this forum back stage without issues its no surprise that once in a while problems comes up its part of life. What is important is how this things are resolved and handled. I am doing my bit to talk to the party I know back stage so that this matter can be put to rest. I am sure many on here are also doing same. |

For us in the equatorial region(6• towards north actually), 6• facing south is recommended or almost flat. Flat would have been better however u need the natural washing angle of rain water to ensure the panels are cleaned during rain fall. Note that the sun moves from the tropics of Capricorn to the tropics of cancer on a 6months basis so ur harvest facing one direction will be affected grossly by this movement therefore u must balance it out when installing. NiyiOmoIyunade: This qarea is one where I will benefit from some education.
I always mount panels facing due South and as close to flat as possible roof pitch pernitting. I do West facing panels where there is no space to mount South.
It seems folks on here are getting good results fron North and East facings panels - can someone please explain the logic and why it works? Is it better than the conventional South facing mount? |

In as much as there was guarantee which should be honoured, kindly check if the inverter is charging correctly cos it did last initially 9hours. I am sure Juo will resolve this in a way that is fair and ensure the integrity of this forum is maintained. viperVIP: Good day everyone.
Please I need your intervention concerning a purchase from JUO. I have transacted with him few times successfully until recently that he stopped picking my calls while we still have a transaction not concluded yet to my detriment.
I bought 2 units (12v 190ah) of used batteries from him barely 4 months @ 80k each for a client on 1 Sept, 2017, I planned buying new but he was able to convince me that these batteries are better than the new ones I wanted to buy, so I opt in for his option and he promise me a guarantee of 6 months if client discharge 50% only. I paid him and he supplied the batteries to me, few days after installation we were chatting and he asked if he has a solar system installed and I said NO... he said that's bad o, he barely gives people warranty with no solar and I told him this client lives in an estate with about 20-24hours power supply daily, he's only trying to make sure he covers up his 24hours power supply always, that's why he's getting it and there won't be a problem concerning charging of the battery but I will persuade him to do solar, that's all.
I can't force money out of the client's pocket likewise you didn't base your warranty on a condition before you sold it to me, it was after you sold it you were talking that condition... and that's not a goal to me, even batteries perform well without a solar system, so not a solid criteria.
About 2 weeks ago, the client called me that some liquid came out of the battery terminals the previous night and he's been observing for about 4 days that battery barely last 30minutes from the previous 9 hours it's used to. I went there 2 Sundays ago to inspect the batteries and the terminals are dried, i didn't see any vivid traces of water and I met battery fully charged, so i disconnected the grid supply to see how long the battery will last and behold, less than 20 minutes it started alarming and 3 minutes after, inverter went off.
I informed JUO and he said he can't be responsible for total refund (even tho that's not conditionally stated in his warranty, what he told me then was he will replace if battery is default) and now he said he can only give a discount on another purchase.
Client said he's never going to buy used again... Poor experience for me as well.
His discount was client is to pay #130,000 for 2 brand new Mercury 12v batteries. Client insisted on #100k because he can't lose such money within that short period. And I had to come in just to protect my integrity, I agreed to pay #30k from my wallet.
Client called me yesterday that he's ready for the purchase. And I informed JUO and since then he has refused to answer my calls, nor reply my text and whatsapp.
So I am begging everyone to implore him to fix this transaction even though I will never have to deal with him ever again. And I am not "mr. dangote" to bear a burden of #100k.
We transact with each other on here most times based on trust, we never meet each other and I do believe everyone has a name to protect, so kindly implore him to do the right thing as agreed... This JUO is a man I have input my words for on this forum for a good services & delivery rendered, so I never expect him to show this ugly side of his to me.
Kindly help everyone pls!

Efficiency is different from % loading. Loading around 60% is go give a factor of safety to ensure longevity fedorahat: Efficiency is 0.8 of total power, and it is not advised to load your inverter beyond 60% of its capacity, actually we have inverters that need load sensing to cut off otherwise it generates battery waste. |

Has nothing to do with intelligence. The most basic inverter does this even locally made. It's physics, if a system is 90% efficient means output=0.9input fedorahat: Not all inverters are intelligent |

The fact that the inverter is 3000w doesn't mean it consumes 3000w. It consumes the sum of the loads connected to it plus the inverter self consumption which is usually around 120w for 3.5kva. Reduce ur loads and use energy saving devices. You can state the loads on the inverter and their wattage so I can help Proudlyngwa: 800 x 12 = 9600 wH
Divide 9600 by your 3000 watts (3kva) inverter, you will know how many hours it will last.
If your inverter does not adjust power generated based on load automatically, you will have a lot of power wastage and loss of battery efficiency. |

And for that, the person has to just open it up, twist a potentiometer with a scewdriver, close it back up and bring it here!!!
End of discussion !!!! |
Satellite TV Technology › Re: Solar Energy, A Complement To FTA by DMerciful(m): 8:13pm On Jan 15, 2018 |
Please lets maintain some level of decorum. we are all here to learn...nobody is a repository of knowledge! makavele: You are talking rubbish . . like i said you are quoting online or textbook Physics for us. I am quoting real life applications for you. Draw your two ears and hold them tight, i repeat . . A potientiometer can be used to measure potential difference or electromotive force, put it as you want in a circuit.
If you are a true science student, then you would know that a potentiometer is preferred than a voltmeter when it comes to measuring voltage or more precisely, emf / Why?
When a voltmeter is connected, the circuit is closed, and internal resistance comes into play. Little current is drawn, so it tampers with the accuracy of the readings.
On the other hand, a potentiometer is an open-circuit measurement, no current is drawn, so it's more accurate for measuring emf or terminal voltage. it is also more sensitive than a voltmeter.
SO when next I tell you that a potentiometer is used to measure voltage, just keep shut and don't argue.
Yes, it could be used for other purposes like you mentioned too; but don't tell me it doesn't measure ! |
Satellite TV Technology › Re: Solar Energy, A Complement To FTA by DMerciful(m): 8:02pm On Jan 15, 2018 |
Voltage setpoints can actually be adjusted by a potentiometer(variable resistor with centre tap) especially for circuit with pulse width modulation.you have circuits that uses the op amp or comparators and they compares the output to a voltage divider which can conveniently be a potentiometer dapsyra: What I stated is physics!
A potentiometer inside a voltmeter is used as a variable resistor to calibrate the accuracy of the displayed value. That is one of the three uses of a potentiometer as stated in my earlier post. The fact remains that a potentiometer cannot and does not measure potential difference. It is essentially a resistor with a variable centre tap.
There are many laymen in this forum, so it is important to give accurate information in order not to lead them astray. |
