It is the credibility of this forum that many a times gives people the confidence to do business here as well and anyone threatening this credibility must be made known. Also forumites can actually hold members accountable so someone aggrieved should not die in silence, we want to know and possibly help!

Also, if i work in an air-conditioned place, I will sweat less and urinate more since that's the only way the body excretes the fluid i'm consuming.
BTW, how do we measure 1teaspoonful when every food we consume contains salt and some of us even eat out. Eating healthy is very very expensive OP.
In my house, I practically eat alone cos i'm on zero salt level.

It's a simple and straight forward question. If a lady ask me to tell about myself, I can summarize happily in 10mins basically
Safiaa:
So when you ask that question, what specifically do you want to hear? And why cant you just go straight to the point. Funny enough ..i gave my number to a guy yesterday. Very attractive physically, and we started talking. The minute he asked me that question, he just instantly became unattractive to me. I don't know why and Im yet to respond to the message. You guys should do better.

From what I read from Trojan literature regarding their flooded batteries, they were very emphatic that their flooded batteries DO NOT develop any form of memory at all. Is there a new development contrary to their assertion. Please let us know!

Thanks....will definitely reapply these.
GeorgeD1:
hello dmerciful,
the secret to battery longevity is spread over a range of factors. it has everything to do with the battery type, charge
controller type, inverter type and usage habits. like i said in my last post, having a high end inverter which incorporates
a battery monitor system (bms) certainly has helped preserve my batteries by ensuring they never get depleted beyond
a preset value - and this works regardless of whether i'm home or not. with my previous inverter, i had to leave specific
instructions for my folks to follow whenever i'm going out of town. and this was always subject to abuse.
besides the bms and high end inverter, my wiring configuration also plays a huge role. i have four batteries wired in series
to make up 48v and three of these joined together with equal length of cable to make 12 batteries. in effect its like having
3 separate battery banks operating independently. this configuration ensures each bank receives an equal amount of
charging current from the cc while charging and also gives out equal amount of load current while discharging.
as for cc, I guess the saying that you get what you pay for is true especially for solar. in my experience, a large number of the so-called cheap and pocket friendly controllers flooding the market these days are nothing but battery killers. they either consistently undercharge or overcharge your batteries leading to premature failure. I have been using the tristar for over seven years now and over this period I'm happy to see best in class performance in terms of charging algorithm. until recently of course when I was forced to incorporate the midnite classic due to my solar array upgrade exigency.
lastly, i carry out yearly turn around maintenance on my battery bank. by this i mean battery rotation. i load test them to
confirm each battery's condition of health.

I believe most analytical people know that if we had gained independence much later say like 1980 or 1990, Nigeria would have been much developed. We gained independence when we did not know our left from our right thus ruining our own foundation. If people say the 1960s was better, does that not show retrogression? So much so that we are being asked to go to 1963 constitution. Maybe we should go back to preindependence and start all over

Oga GeorgeD1,

Battery replacement has been the biggest cost in offgrid systems for most people but somehow you have managed to draw appreciable longevity from your batteries. kindly educate us how you do this as well as telling us the configuration, brand, and maintenance strategy for these batteries.
I know you use Zenith but fake zenith abound now and i also know your previous batteries lasted long before replacement with 260AH zenith.
We need to learn as i got frustrated from premature failures and went lithium.
GeorgeD1:
barrezi,
high end inverters like magnum come with a battery monitor system (bms) as an add-on. this carries out the lvd function among others thereby protecting your system.
i can't count the number of times the bms has intervened to protect my batteries so far and in hind sight, maybe its another reason my batteries have gone nearly five years and still performing as new.
Satellite TV Technology › Re: Solar Energy, A Complement To FTA by DMerciful(m): 11:17am On Sep 30, 2017
Nicely put. Interesting to know you are now offgrid, this i wanted badly but due to space consideration in my current location i am still stuck with 1000W.

Regarding premature battery failure, sometimes there are many factors other than load why battery fails. for instance under-utilizing a battery might cause memory effect so it may be necessary to discharge appreciably once in a while and also equalize including AGM except gel. also there are a lot of fake batteries out there. Many inverters in the market have poor charging systems that cuts of before the batteries are fully charged thereby loosing capacity progressively.

but a general challenge is the high susceptibility of lead acid to failure especially if not well managed and maintained and this know-how might be too much for the average user and as such i strongly recommend the rugged lithium iron phosphate with upto 80% DOD with negligible capacity loss as well as absence of memory effect and acceptable high current draw. Mine is delivering like kilode!
bigrovar:
The most important aspect (and one which is often ignored / sidelined) is getting a hand on how much electricity you consume and how much you generate. Its not about how many panels/batteries you have. Its simple maths. If you consume more than you generate, your battery would be the one to take the hit and make up for the deficit causing bad things to happen to it.

A fridge or freezer is just a load at the end of the day it uses watts.. this watts are of no difference from that used by your TV or any other appliance in the house. Yes Refrigerator uses relatively high watt appliances and in most cases represent the defining load of most offgrid systems. You can easily run a freezer or fridge on an offgrid setup once you have a proper plan in alignment with how much electricity you can generate while keeping your battery at a minimum 65% state of charge / 35% depth of discharge.

When I started my offgrid journey, I had just 480w panels, Yet I was able to power the freezer for a minimum of 4 hours a day while ensuring that my battery always get to float, and never discharges low 60% state of charge. This was possible because I did an electrical audit and rationed my loads using battery peukert effect to my advantage. My energy consumption gradually increased as my as my generation capacity increased, today I have a panel capacity of 1840w and I have included the fridge to the mix, both fridge and freezer run at a minimum of 8 hours a day - 08:00 - 16:00pm. An I have just 2 220AH batteries. My system runs 24/7 yet my battery voltage never goes below 24.5v in the morning.

The key is getting a hang on your load, spending time to make you loads more efficient (not just using so called energy safers, but actually checking the watts of your appliances. Watts counting matters alot)

designing your system to cycle at 70% battery state of charge hence they won't be any need to waste money/time/energy on unreliable low voltage disconnect systems. If your system is deigned around a low voltage disconnect, then they is something wrong with you design.

My Humble Opinion

Family › Re: My Marriage; A Blessing Or A Curse. Please Advice by DMerciful(m): 6:58pm On Sep 24, 2017
Were your trucks and business not insured?
allenroundabout:
Today is my wedding anniversary. I got married in 2010. I actually don't know if my marriage is a curse or there are other forces affecting my life.

I went into my marriage with 6 trucks and they were all working within southwest. All the trucks are gone!

I am a 37year old man from Enugu state. I got married at the age of 31 to a beautiful lady from Edo state.

I started my logistic company when I left my salary job in 2007. I started with 3 trucks and I was able to grow and acquired 3 more trucks before 2010.

I met my wife when she was serving in Enugu. I visited my parent in enugu that very year. We got talking and one thing led to the other. She got pregnant towards the end of her service year and moved in with me immediately after her service.

We had our traditional wedding, though her mum (father is late) wasn't at the wedding. She didn't inform her, she said she doesn't have a relationship with her and that they are not in talking terms. Though her aunt (her mum sister) was actively involved and present. She made up with her mum years later and they are both fine now.

I lost my 6 trucks in 3years with debts that I had to settle by selling my uncompleted buildings in Enugu and Lagos. I have not paid some debts till now. Note that I acquired those properties before my wedding.

I lost 2 trucks in 2010 December, lost 1 in 2011, then lost remaining 3 trucks to accident in 2013.

It usually happened whenever we quarreled and she got really angry. That very night, I would see myself being locked up by a man in a room with an iron gate in my dream. The next trip for any of my trucks would be an accident or there would be a major problem on the road.

I was out of business in 2014 to mid 2015 when I decided to travel out of Nigeria for some hustling. I told my wife about my plan but she said she is sure my plan is to marry another woman when I get to Europe. I made some promises to her before I left.
On getting to the airport in holland, I was put into the next flight to Lagos from Schipol airport in Holland.

I became very broke after the failed trip and I had to open up to friends and family who still thought I was a big man. I was able to secure a 35k salary job through a friend. My wife came to my place of work, told my boss that I beat her. She lied! (I have never done that before and I didn't do it). I lost the job.

In all this, I have always struggled to pay our rent, we pay our son school fee together while she handles 75% of food stuff in the house. She works and earns around 65k. She has been supportive.

I have prayed and she has prayed too, but nothing has changed in my finance. It is getting worse everyday. One night, I prayed and begged God to reveal to me the source of my problem, I had a dream that night. In the dream, my wife told me she is married to the prince of their kingdom and that the prince is always with us sometimes on the bed when we are sleeping. She said his boys are the one I always see fighting me in my dreams. My wife told me all this in my dream. I am scared of discussing this dream with my wife because she is a prayerful woman and it will sound like I am saying she is the cause of my problem. I am confused.

I also consulted a pastor, the pastor said witches are seriously dealing with me. He also said my wife has a spiritual husband that is very powerful. He warned me never to discuss any of my plans with my wife again. That I should always tell her after the execution of such plans (plans that has to do with my business). I find it strange and hard to believe, what is the essence of having a wife if we can have 100% openness. I continue to discuss my business plans with wifey and they are always failing. Sometimes I will be too happy to hide it from her. (Lol)

We have a small car that is strictly for taking my son to school. My rent expired in May and there is no hope of money for me. Landlord is already on me. If I sell this last only car to pay this rent, what are we going to sell to pay the next rent? I think maybe we should separate for a while and when things change for better again, we can come together. I have not discussed this with my wife. Is this a right step? Her mum and her mum sis (they are both widows) has a big house here in Lagos, she can move to the house while I get a driving job with an accommodation package. This way, I can support and pay my son's school fee.

Please people advice me.

Let's say u're right, Igbos killed the leaders of the other tribes in 1966, it was purely an Igbos coup. The other tribes killed 3million Igbos in the civil war. Is that not enough for you? All you need is to give us a call on 08110667899 or send an email to info@teakwoodadvisory.com. Once your interest is confirmed, we will send a KYC form to fill and request photocopies of certain documents for regulatory reasons.

That being said. Do not let banks rip off what you should originally earn by giving you lower rates. Whatever is left from the high yields is what they pocket. You can give us a call or send a mail to clear your doubt and kindly make reference to nairaland to know where the request is from. And yes, we also invest on behalf of those below 1million but on a lower yield. You could however be lucky that we have people in your category and the lump sum for all of you amounts to 1million.
