Yet midiocres will say we are just 57years as a country. Was Nigeria not existing before independence? If we were still being colonised we would be using electric trains by now. When did South Africa gain independence? Yeye everywhere Modify.... Maybe it's not Nigeria like the op posted however Nigeria needs healing and 2019 is a time to correct our 2015 electoral mistakes |

Did a review sometime ago but posted in bits as the autobot was banning me whenever I post for like 3days and even deleted the posts. Anyways, lithium ion phosphate is what they say it is....high longevity, immunned to sulphation and memory effects, high DOD. Expensive in the short term but extremely cheap in the long run makavele: You still haven't given us a geek's review of the Lithium config. it's what has been keeping most of us off it for some time . .; especially me . . Go lithium and forget about strict charging and discharging rules, DOD, uncharged state, high current drain etc..just use, lool. Still cheaper even in the medium term |

It wasnt listed on his store. i just asked if he could source for it, he said yes and put the price among other things i was buying from his store. even on epsolar website, it is not listed. its a new product. earthrealm: wish you wud post the exact product link...to be sure am buying the correct component |

The pv configuration for mppt depends on the brand of controllers. while EPSolar works best with 3x3 configuration, fangpusun works best with 2x2 configuration where Voc is twice battery voltage. However, as a general rule, PV voltage should be atleast twice battery voltage but ensure the right cable thickness is used. one watchout for using 3-4times PV voltage compared to battery voltage is a tendency for the mppt CC power tube to fail especially during cold bright sunny morning where the max allowable Voc could be exceeded due to the illuminance that may exceed standard test condition so always create buffer btw the PV voltage and the max allowable Voc input to mppt. Anyways i leave you with pictures of my remote monitoring using the epsolar ebox-DTU that allows monitoring and control over the internet anywhere in the world. mcTrinity: your first paragraph actually answers the question as to the advantage of MPPT over PWM.
Nevertheless, a 3x3 configuration would be very inefficient on a 24v system. 3x3 is good for a 48V system. Remember MPPT conversion efficiency is best when the PV volt is not too far from the battery volt. for a 48v system, the conversion efficiency is better when the PV volt is between 75-95V. for a 24V system, the PV volt should be around 45-60.
with MPPT, the best configuration for a 24V system should be maximum of 2 in series (looking at 250-300w panel)
Also, since the load is just about 300w and it's just 2 batteries, 4 panels will be enough: 2x2 on MPPT or 1x4 connected either directly to the hybrid inverter or through a PWM controller.
Nevertheless, since it's a small setup, PWM will suffice. They work better in small setup compared to MPPT. To me, MPPT on small setup is a waste. There are gurus that can explain better.
MY PERSONAL OPINION
Thanks Cheers

He can convenient change the fets. the gate resistor has such a high resistance that failure to the driving circuitry is unlikely. i have change my small inverter twice and i have spares for the next failure . To limit the chances of electric shock from capacitor, put on the inverter after disconnection from mains to use up whatever is stored in the capacitor besides capacitor will give u and unpleasant shock at worst...nothing major makavele: Sh!t happens and electronics can just go kaboom for no good reason. But you need to give it to a seasoned electrician , , , Do not attempt to change the Fets on your own . . because in most causes; the shorted Fets creates a short inside the gates . . and this damages the circuitry that drives the gates . . . Change the all mosfets and connect the inverter; and you will hear another kaboom ; back to square one.
N.B.: Be careful when you handle circuit boards that contain capacitors; they can store power high enough to deliver a fatal electric shock; even when they are powered off (especially when the unit was just disconnected; without discharging the capacitors) |
Satellite TV Technology › Re: Solar Energy, A Complement To FTA by DMerciful(m): 8:25pm On Dec 20, 2017 |
Replacing all the mosfets will likely fix the inverter. in my small 500w inverter i use at night, i have replaced the mosfet twice(one time after lightning storm) infact i have spares for the next failure . Mosfets tends to fail when there is high transient voltage. hope u friend's gen is regulated? dejidotun2000: Good morning house.
A friend put on his 5kva generator and switched on the change-over switch with the inverter being the only load on the generator. He heard spectacular explosions and smoke from the inverter. About 6 FETs are obviously damaged, the rest are also shorted.
Did the damage have anything to do with the fact that the inverter was the only load on the generator ?
Will replacing all the FETs bring the inverter back to life/Could any other components have been damaged besides the FETs ?
Thanks everyone. |

I understand all what you said but we need repeatability and reproduceability of their products as well as using factory process that ensures high quality control. The world has moved beyond backyard business for things like this bigrovar: Let us take a note from the Indians. They are one nation that have completely grown their own renewable industry based on their own experiences and in the process have become not just self sufficient but also earn forex exporting renewable energy products around the world from batteties, inverters, solar panels and controllers. Some of the biggest brands of inverters in Africa today are Indians from batteries to inverters. Rather than import and depend on likes of Trojan they built their own battery making industry with batteries that can compare with western brands in terms of durability. The likes of Luminous, Sukam, Genus, Quanta to mention a few. Sukam even partnered with Trojan to make batteries for the Indian market. Yet all this started from humble beginning. U should go watch the story of the Sukam founder how he started the business. It wasn't from factory but from his backyard. He built learned and got better and better rest is history.
Other than the true trusted US OECD country brand of product.. Many of the products coming from China are garbage and should not come near a home. They were hand built using cheap components, crapy capacitors and dangerous engineering.. Many Chinese companies are nothing but fraudulent in their ways and will sell a pwm and mppt. The Chinese do not have the culture for standards and quality of the Japanese even Taiwanese companies are doing better.
Now am not one of the buy Nigeria blindly type. As Oga makavele said. Do a review of your product.. Especially a tire down let us see what it is made of and get quality feedback on where to improve. The Indians built their inverters and batteries to suit their own local market and needs. Our feedback will help u shape your products for the better. While it is my hope that we build an indigenous self sufficient renewable industry exporting world wide.. Am more concern by quality of our products. We need to embrace standard not race to the bottom approach of the Chinese and also not the scam hoodwink approach of Zinox and Co who only weep sentiments |

How much are u buying fuel. Comparing Gej with Buhari is like comparing G Wagon with Corrola. It's a travesty PHILipu1: Hahaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa. Gej is from my south-south but knew from day one that he was too weak and that people working under him will use his head and he will not do anything,so i never for once like him.
Gej better that Buhari? Gej that was selling our crude oil for as High as $150 per barrel and we were still struggling then.
Give Buhari crude oil price at just $80 and see wonders.
The change is Christmas is around the corner and we are not talking of fuel queues like during PDP 16 years. Infacts, filling stations are even begging drivers to come and buy. |
