Hi guys,

My sukam inverter (2.4kva) of less than 2 years gets fully charged in about 30mins and gets batteries (2x100ah) gets depleted when in use in less than an hour even with minimal load..

I already spent 11k as I assumed I was scammed for fixing the charging element of inverter.

Can someone advise me?

Most of the things can still be confirmed like bank wire,call records home and abroad.For the Destiny Hotel CCTV recordings Suleiman go don dey do ground walk for all those details. Destiny hotel go don destroy that evidence since.Then for the passport that stamp can be erased,all those agents for visa runs are experts on that.So he must have erased that as well.I think she can still get CCTV recordings of the hotels they stayed abroad plus the Street ,airport CCTV recordings as well showing them together.That is if Suleiman has not gone faster than her to erase most of these things.He has the money to bribe any bribable person home or abroad.

Suleman should be arrested and punished and made to refund all monies he has collected over the years from his church members. SULEMAN SHOULD ALSO BE ARRESTED AND CHARGED FOR ATTEMPTED MURDER. Why? Because it is a criminal offence to get someone pregnant and then forcefully give them a poisonous substance to drink so as to abort or kill the unborn baby.

Just imagine if someone forcefully gave your mother a poison to drink to abort or kill you while in your Mom's stomach. Think about that....that someone who calls himself a pastor does this to a woman who can easily be a mother, someones sister or daughter. This is not about politics. one last question, in your opinion, what type of sytem, interms of volt rating would you consider to be a common and still efficient enough standard for a regular household supply? 12v? 24v? much higher?

Afam, I drive regularly in Lagos. I marvel at the sheer size of commuters and vehicles on Lagos roads at any given time. A typical Lagos driver is less likely to make phone calls while driving, less likely to drive against the traffic and less likely to beat traffic lights compared to most cities in the country. The Lagos driver is more civilized than his counterparts in Benin City, Warri, Port Harcourt or Onitsha.

Solar is addictive. We always need to improve/upgrade our set up to improve its efficiency. Do all you can my brother, the sun is waiting & wasting !

I think u can use watt meter to estimate ur usage over nite & shut down or trim off loads. I use 24v microtex just like ur sukam with 7200wh battery bank but I keep my loads as low as 150w- 170w over nite & battery still read around 24.9v-25.2 daily which I pump to 28.8v absorbing for 2hrs and floating @ 28v by 11am-1pm ( from my 1050w PV I.e 7 150w panels)

Pls work on ur load @ nite if you don't have immediate plans to upgrade.

Length from panels to CC not more than 15yards

It could really be the panel positioning.....the first ones are not facing south...

1. please what is the relevance of volt (v) ratings of a system. for example, what is the difference i'll get from a 12v, 24v, 48v etc system?

2. what is the relevance of ampere hour (ah) ratings of batteries too. and then is it possible to increase it through battery arrangement, like it is possible with volt ratings?

A.Pls can you show the calculations you used in arriving at No 2 & 3

B.if my battery spec sheet says Max charge current 25A, how then do i regulate the CC not to supply more than this? 33A is in excess

C.Pls what's the difference between max rated power & max array power

D.In the morning, at what point will i know that my panels are producing enough "juice" to power my loads, what parameter will i be looking at on the CC

I ask the above cos some folks will say they put on their fridge btw 11am-4pm

Why 11am? Why put off at 4pm? What parameters informed them to turn on & off the fridge at that time?

a.During the day, my load gets supply directly from the CC, Nope, loads gets supply from d battery tru d inverter however the panels can harvest more to the batteries than is being expended so that net it would suffice to say that d solar panels are powering d loads directly.

b.Gets supply from the battery, then it's replenished from the CC as it's being used-yes, gets supply from battery but being replenished sometimes more than consumption.

Like I said earlier, the minimum permissible crest factor is 1.0 or 1:1 which is the crest factor of DC current. Crest factor cannot be lower than 1.

The manual erred by stating it as 1:5. There are two ways we can try to interpret that error:

1. Take it that the manual meant 1.5. In this case, the surge factor will be 1.06 (1.5/1.414) ==> Cannot handle high surges

2. Take it that the manual meant 5:1. In this case, the surge factor will be 3.5 (5/1.414) ==> Can handle high surges

Considering that it is also stated in the manual that the Inverter is not for heavy appliances, I will choose interpretation 1 above.

Irrespective of whichever interpretation you choose, a 1190W Inverter will power a 120W fridge comfortably.

When yours arrive , talk from your personal usage experience .. I stated few clear points above and didnt ridicule lifespan of battery as said by its manufacturer , although any lil malicious damage-clause can affect warranty validity in Nigeria !

The experience I have is similar to the experience many off grid people have. The cure is exactly what I am doing. So if you have a different solution I would like to hear them. My batteries will soon be 10 years old and I am having the same results now as I did at the beginning.

I will load it soon. I have some of the issues that Sapiro mentioned with mine as well. However they have performed well. We have one of the batteries that has a discharged cell. The specific gravity in that cell indicated that what we have is water relative to the others. We will continue to run equalization till we correct it or ditch it
Update 851 pm. For the first time since I returned to Lagos my batteries are holding above 25 volts at night. They are at 25.44 with my freezer and lights on. Changed my charger settings and the batteries got hot. You could make tea with the electrolyte. All the cells boiled and burbled except one. It got hot but no gas or burbling.
We will do it again tomorrow. Brute force from my AC charger and my charge controller seems to do it. They cool down today and tomorrow we give it another try.
