BuddhaPalm: Theft.
Which is the same thing our guy is accusing First Bank of.
Once you create something, it belongs to you. If someone uses it without your permission, it's a simple case of IP theft.
You don't need a contract to keep something that already belongs to you. If you pioneered something but didn't do any legal fortifications and I come by it, register trademarks and patent it, I am the right owner of what you created BY LAW! I am the one the law recognizes and Not you. You get it now? To be on saver side, I would suggest contract drafting. I am processing a contract and in a few weeks time, we will meeting but I would be stupid not to put things on paper as legal binding contract. |

Something weird happened recently.
I have been using namedroppers.com for some years now but I recently started testing a new strategy.
I looked up a domain name and found it dropped last year, which means someone dropped since November last year and no one picked up.
I had to use namedroppers.com and whois to check some background sight.
I didn't register the domain immediately but saved among list of domains I had been compiling.
Yesterday, it crossed my mind and I ran a check and found out its gone.
This is not a recent drop which means people had moved passed and were never gonna check that time line again.
November to March is like 3 months plus. How did that guy pick it up? Is this a coincidence?
But all in all, I suspect fowl play and I must warn you to be careful when using namedroppers.com |

pacespot: When the current British prime minister Boris Johnson made a report about Nigerian obsession with money, people tagged him racist, then he was a journalist. We are allergic to someone who says the truth as it is. It is a culture of obsession with money that is translating to the begging that we see in those public places, not poverty as some will say. Nigerian obsession with money is known all over the world and is now being used as an adjective to describe others who show similar trait. Nigerians, most of them, have their selfesteem built on money. Take away money and you see a timid legion of confused species. |

franchasng: how many Nigerian children come from a functional family or marriage to start with
Nigeria's problem again is lack of birth control. People marrying without financial direction or preparation for the kids they intend to birth.
People getting married and giving birth to several kids without financial preparation or backup, but hoping on luck, fate and relatives to help them out!
These are the root cause of Nigeria's predicament we are saying the same thing. Where does birth control start from? na home na. They fork anyhow and give birth anyhow. When you think of the "go and marry crew" those ones are fan base. |

Politics › Re: Coronavirus Outbreak May Delay Lagos-ibadan Rail Project – Amaechi by DNSPro: 10:29pm On Mar 06, 2020 |
Agboriotejoye: You do realize though that flights from China are not banned from entering Nigeria. So nothing is really stopping them from coming back.
That Nigerians are involved should have made the project faster if they were really as involved as they ought to be. Like I told you, if Lagos- Kano can be completed under ten years in the early 20th century, we should be able to achieve it at a faster pace with all the modern technology.
Think about it, if the project is 90% completed as you claim, it means the bulk of the work has been done. So why can't Nigerian engineers who i'm sure also worked on the Abuja-Kaduna rail handle the rest if they are serious about meeting Amaechi's deadline? Why stop work simply because some people went on holiday.
So I hope you understand what I'm saying. The completion of the project has nothing to do with Amaechi, instead it's the Chinese that determine when they finish not Nigeria. When they were building Abuja-Kaduna rail, we did not hear so much noise from GEJ's minister of transport but right now, Abuja-Kaduna has been completed in less time than Lagos- Ibadan albeit Abuja- Kaduna is longer. As far as railway lines are concerned, bulk of the work has been done based on my assessment. I have checked the Ogun state axis extensively. Where works is still on going is Lagos axis because of the population and buildings obstructing right of way that had to be demolished and so many technicalities, but for Ogun state and Oyo State much of the works have been done and this include erecting pillars/beams for bridges to link where the train would pass. I even have a video of the Abeokuta axis with bridges linking sections as we drove past it. Last month, new coaches were seen heading towards Ewekoro, probably going to Abeokuta but I am not sure. And coaches wouldn't be delivered if works have not reached advanced stages, would they? As for the Chinese, I can tell you that even their factories are shut down right now. just a few are about starting operations. |
Politics › Re: Coronavirus Outbreak May Delay Lagos-ibadan Rail Project – Amaechi by DNSPro: 8:15pm On Mar 06, 2020 |
Agboriotejoye: Like I told someone before, all those posturing by Amaechi is just for political visibility not that he's doing anything peculiar. The Chinese are the ones providing everything for the project including 80% of the finance and so will finish it when they want. All the deadlines by Amaechi na just for the cameras. How many times have the deadlines he gave been missed and what has been the penalty for it.
Truth is, this rail is following the same template of Abuja-Kaduna rail. Do you really think it's impossible for the Chinese to build Lagos-Kano in two years if they really want to? So that's what I'm saying. Nothing spectacular is happening about Lagos-Ibadan rail. The project is ongoing as the Chinese intended. Amaechi is the one coming up with different lies to cover for his many lies about deadline.
Like I asked someone, the colonialists built Lagos-Kano under ten years and majority of the labour used were Nigerians. So why can't the Chinese do the same? It's simply because they have nothing to gain doing it that way not any excuse Amaechi decides to come up with. Nigerians are involved bro. What Ameachi is talking about is due to this corona virus, most of them may have not returned. The news of the virus went viral while Chinese were yet to be back from their holiday. All over the world THEY usually go home this period. I am in constant communication with Chinese and I can tell you that factories are not fully operating, just a few here and there. |

nathaliya: It's not too much.
In a case whereby goods get to buyer and they still do not pay. How do you avoid such? - Irrevocable Letters of Credit payable at sight, Bank Guarantee and Blocked Funds.
I've explained how SBLC works, there's another LC called DLC, it's also like a post dated cheque but the bank isn't a guarantor. It's strictly you and the buyer, if the buyer goes bankrupt, na your luck but if the buyer has money in that account, the bank is compelled to pay you. Bank guarantees are another name or a twin brother to SBLC. Blocked funds is simply the buyer freezing your money so that even he can't spend it and once you deliver, He's auto debited.
All these financial instruments are supervised by the bank to bank thereby adding more credibility. Your main issue with them however is that Nigerian banks have very low reputation and many countries have barred them from receiving financial instruments so if you rely on these instruments, your buyers especially from Asia may struggle.
Do you have a specific place where you get buyers for your goods or you just google companies directly and pitch to them?
The internet is your best hope because the buyer's that are offline, hmmmm. You may not be able to meet them even if they spend donkey years in Nigeria due to the calibre of people they row with. Check b2b websites and register on them and begin to post products and services. Even if they don't buy, when your company turns up on different sites saying the same thing, it shows you are kinda serious. Your own website would also be nice and boost your image but it's not compulsory.
Are there any means of meeting this people first before doing the deal or it is just over the internet? If it the latter, how did they trust you enough to want to do business with you for the first time?
If the product isn't something that requires them getting their hands dirty to inspect or test, many buyers will buy and conclude and even pay via the internet but not with cash. That's why letters of credit and the rest are available. You have to be a wealthy crook to dupe them with a financial instrument.
how do you battle this for shipping containers? Never try to foot these costs on your own, the temptation to make your price the lowest in the internet is always there until you have orders that will put you in 20yrs debt and I'm not kidding. Add 2weeks extra in the shipping timeline and explain to them that normally the product reaches earlier but for documentation and unforseen circumstances, you're adding extra days. Get a quote from shipping companies online and add +/-5-10% to avoid stories that won't touch. And always pay for insurance so you can sleep while the goods are on the sea so you don't turn an astrologer trying to predict the storms Who will buy will buy. Oh wow... thanks a lot. So technically, banks serves as the ESCROW in this case. With reference to poor reputation of our banks in Nigeria and their inability or reluctance to assist your deal, how did you get another bank in a different country to stand in for you? Did you have any previous relationship with the said country's bank prior to that event or you contacted them out of the blue (but how would they trust you in this case?)? or you used a friend in the said country? |
