Ayo's olufunmi performance was tight,no doubt but that's just one performance out of many..Going by what I've watched,I would have given it to either marvellous or adetoun..If I had to choose,it'd be adetoun..Ayo has always been a distant third for me..The others can queue up as they like.
Anyways,if it's true he won it,congrats to him. This year's competition was interesting, wish them all well.

Nairaland / General / Re: What Do You Think Of Nairaland's Garri Peeps? by dohyn(m): 3:24am On Sep 05, 2012
I am indifferent about the garri issue but I'm glad it came up.The whole thing started as a harmless joke but seun turned it into a fight when he started banning people.Trust me,the fad would have died out over time if he had ignored it but no,he and his mods(especially that sexkillz of a person)has to exercise power..
Well,Nairalanders have shown him that they won't stand for highhandedness of any sort.My honest take is that he should apologise to everyone he's banned and see if things won't normalize quickly.I know he won't do that though..He's too proud,at least going by his utterances.Anyways,he should remember that power corrupts and absolute power corrupts absolutely..
Just my 2kobo..By the way, seun should muzzle sexkillz a little if he doesn't want nairaland to be killed.

Nairaland / General / 'price Of Garri' Vs 'tribalism' by dohyn(m): 2:19pm On Sep 02, 2012
This is for "oga" seun and his moderators..I've been on Nairaland for some years now and it really is a great place to e-hangout and have fun.Sadly, the fun has been sorely lacking because of tribalism.A lot of people have spoken against this but seun and co refused to do anything about it,probably because it drives traffic.
Well,I have nothing against that, because first and foremost for seun, this is a business and it must make money.Barely a month ago, people starting saying the "price of garri" thing on posts..I must admit it was funny initially but then,it started to wane.My issue is with the speed at which 'oga' seun and co banned the 'garri' crew.I assure you,the tribalists amongst us have done more harm to this forum than the 'garri' crew. What seun did was akin to using a sledgehammer to kill a fly,now 'kuli kuli' has sprung up.
All I'm saying is,seun, try to address the pertinent issues on the forum first. It's very likely this post will not see the light of day but at least,I've said my piece..

It's actually disheartening to see "educated" Nigerian youths re-sending such messages.I asked one of my contacts if she was gonna heed the message and she gave a reply akin to what jibwillz said.Anyways,if my phone's gonna change,I wouldn't mind Galaxy tab,so I'm gonna leave this phone on and pray for a miracle tonight.

Pastor Bakare,I doff my hat to you sir..Your critics will say you shoudl preach the gospel and leave politics alone. But how can that be when your sheep is suffering due to the actions or rather inactions of our politicians, chief of which is Jonathan??To effect a change in this country, you use the means avaialable to you..For you sir, that is the pulpit.Reuben Abati hounded the PDP with his column in The Guardian until he finally go what he wanted..Gullible me thought he wanted to change this country. If pastors like Adeboye,Oyedepo,Oyakhilome spoke out more, this country would be a better place for it.Rather, they are busy laying hands on/praying for Gej at their conventions or buying private jets..RCCG has started their 60th convention now,I can bet my left b.all that Pastor Adeboye will not say anything to his teeming fans.Mind you,he doesn't have to,but then he also didn't have to "annoint" Gej during his campaign.

Islam for Muslims / Re: A Directory Of Islamic Websites by dohyn(m): 9:49am On Aug 05, 2012
@op,if you put up a post and say "for muslims only",you should naturally expect non-muslims to want to know what it's about..I think it would have been better if you had left out that phrase.Just my 2 kobo. @maclatunji,you threatening to ban users is just not called for.I'm pretty sure most people don't take kindly to threats. Romance / Re: Will You consider a Genotype Test Before Marriage? by dohyn(m): 6:32pm On Jul 12, 2012
Firstly, let me correct this probability misconception..if u are AS and ur partner is AS,ur child can either be AA,AS or SS. This means that each pregnancy can only be one of the 3 and it's possible all the pregnancies are AA,AS or SS. There's nothing like 25% probability. U could lucky to have all ur kids AA and also, SS. I hope u get my drift. As for the AS,SC matter,it's not common..what we do have is AC,which is just like AS. I guess SC occurs when an AS marries an AC and they have a child with the SC genotype, which is just like SS but I can assure u,it's a worse type..so,if an AS marries an SC,the combinations that can result are AS,SS and SC. These means that each/all child(ren) borne can have any of the above combinations. It doesn't matter if u have 10 kids. The scenario is the same for each pregnancy and the best one can hope for is an AS. I hope I helped some

Romance / Re: Is It Wrong For Girl To Ask A Guy Out? by dohyn(m): 12:03pm On Jun 21, 2012
I personally don't see a big deal about it.the first girlfriend I had was in secondary school,I was 2 classes ahead and thot of her as a school daughter..until the day she told me she loved me that is!!omo, see as I shock.sadly,I was about leaving school then,so it was easy for us to date(late 90's,no gsm).it lasted 2yrs and we broke up.she's married with a kid now and to date, she's still the standard I hold others to.
My point is,if u like someone, let him know.if he thinks of u as a slut/cheap,my dear,it's his loss..believe me,life's too short to have "what if's".I know that for a fact.

Sports / Re: Nat. Assembly To Honour Mikel Obi - Worth It? by dohyn(m): 9:33pm On Jun 11, 2012
This is just sick!!!there's no justifiable reason for this honour..countless sportmen and women have done way past what mikel did for chelsea and with patriotism too,yet nothing was done to honour them.I was praying that chelsea would win just so I'd see mikel wrap the Nigerian flag round his shoulders, proclaiming to the world that he's a Nigerian. That's the kind of positive message the world needed to know about Nigeria.Millions of dollars in adverts couldn't have achieved what mikel would have done for the image of the country. But no,not mikel.it's his choice quite alright to do so or not and he chose not too.Mikel has no patriotic bone in his body and as such,it's my humble submission that he is not deserving of this honour..anyways,like someone rightly said;God,what have we done to deserve leaders like this?
Romance / Re: His Girlfriend Did HIV Test On Him Without Permission by dohyn(m): 12:36am On May 24, 2012
Ma'am,let me correct this misconception u and lots of people seem to have..the test kit I'm talking about uses a lancet to pierce the thumb.it's just like using a needle to pr.ick ur hand only that it's sharper.Using a syringe to draw blood requires u tying a tourniquet around the forearm and obviously, someone who's asleep would wake up.I'm sure if u google it up,it will be explained better.
My grouse with her doing it is that it's a matter of trust..I trust u enough to sleep next to you at night knowing that u could wake up and kill me..if I don't wanna do the test,u should try to make me see reason and not betray the trust I have in you.if your girlfriend can do that to you whilst asleep,I fear to think what she'll do if we break up..remember"all hell hath no fury like a woman scorned" to paraphrase congreaves.
Beync: this kind of sleep that one could piersed his body with syringe and he couldnt feel anything na lie be that.

U can sue me for all i care, i dont blame her. why should we be in relationship and u wouldnt accept ur responsibility?
she deserve to know his hiv status becos her life in involve. may be the boy is playing and not sure of himself.

Romance / Re: His Girlfriend Did HIV Test On Him Without Permission by dohyn(m): 10:11pm On May 23, 2012
Pls shut d Bleep up!!!do me a favor and go get d HIV test kit and do the test on urself.u don't use a punch syringe or whatever,a lancet is supplied with it and that's what u use to pri.ck ur thumb..u can be asleep and ur thumb will be pierced without u waking up if u are a deep sleeper.I said I'm not but I know lots of people who are.I won't bother to reply your other comments..go do as you are told and report back.
edetty: @op,tanx God u did defend ur initial lies wel,cos am a 4th year medical student,u had 1st sed one can use a punch syringe on a person witout notice, dats a blantant lie,cos its as sharp as a mere pinch wit d fingers,2ndly wen oda posters suggested d saliva test, dats wen u realised 2 mention d actual test, dnt knw wat u practice dat ur memory skips diz much,as 4 d test itseft, its an offence, cos even in clinics u dnt carry out certain treatments or surgical operations if d patient doesnt consent 2 it,by a formal signed agreement, its againt d medical practice act,...dats al i hav 2 say

Romance / Re: His Girlfriend Did HIV Test On Him Without Permission by dohyn(m): 7:31am On May 21, 2012
I wasn't aware u could use saliva as a sample..thanks,will check it out.but I'm pretty sure it won't be available in Nigeria now..Also,whilst it's true that taking a sample without consent is battery, how many people would be prepared to go the court to seek redress?like I said before, that's the end of the relationship for me(except she's dangote's daughter sha)
Romance / Re: His Girlfriend Did HIV Test On Him Without Permission by dohyn(m): 7:08pm On May 20, 2012
@gree-die,d guy refused for the same reason the average nigerian would give u,which is fear..I can understand because I was also petrified when I did mine.I bought the kit and tested myself in my kitchen..believe me,those few minutes bwfore the result was hell.
Romance / Re: His Girlfriend Did HIV Test On Him Without Permission by dohyn(m): 7:00pm On May 20, 2012
@peeps calling me liar;if u don't know abput an issue, just say so..u shouldn't open ur mouth and talk stupidly about something u don't know about..besides,google is your friend..anyways,it's obvious u haven't done the HIV test before..only about 2 or 3 drops of blood is needed and a pr.ick of the needle will do.the guy was obviously sound asleep.personally,I wake up if I hear the slightest sound not to talk of a touch..
Now that I've added to your knowledge, please answer the question(s)

I was talking to my friend(we are both doctors) and the subject of HIV and testing came up.She then told me that she once bought a test kit and used it on her boyfriend whilst he was asleep..her reason?he had refused to go test with her.She then left the kit by the bed and when the guy woke up,he was livid..He was negative tho.I couldn't speak for 3mins after she told me this!!!I swear,if it were me,dat's the end of the relationship..Good for then, they are still together.
I just want to know your view about this;was my friend right?would u have done the same or not?

Health / Re: Lagos Sacks Striking Doctors by dohyn(m): 10:58pm On May 07, 2012
Honestly,a lot of ppl here are not objective and calling them names would only drag me down to their level.Lagos state uses their doctors like slaves and don't pay shit.as a medical student on a month's attachment to in x,I assisted 10 surgeries.I was a student,nt a yet doctor.the workload is just too much and d tax is the highest in the land.A pharmacy sales rep with GSK collects the equivalent of what a senior registar takes home + car and benefits.Truth is,doctors in Nigeria are poorly paid and yet,the society thinks we earn millions.Fashola sacked over a 1000 doctors and some of you here are jumping up for joy, forgetting that if he should fall sick now,he'll be flown to Isreal just like david mark.
state NMA may go on strike because a consultant in was kidnapped and a ransom of 100million is being asked for.is already on strike.Tell your governments to do the right thing and escalate the situation by spreading lies..
Politics / Re: Senator David Mark In Critical Condition. Flown To Israel For Treatment by dohyn(m): 3:49pm On Apr 19, 2012
I'm in x..just today,a woman came in with a 5month old baby that needs emergency surgery.child's beem sick for the past 5days.she had only 4thousand naira on her and admission alone is 2000n.I and some colleagues had to go round d hospital begging, even patients contributed..at the end of the day,we barely raised 8k.we are still looking for blood donor.Hospital management has waived some fees, hopefully surgery will be done this evening..I'm sure her bills at the end of her stay can't be up to 100k,yet one bastard in power will be looting billions and travelling to Isreal when sick..I pray he and others like him die abroad.Maybe when that starts happening or they start dying on that Lagos-Ibadan expressway like Nigerians do daily,a change will happen..maybe

What a terrible waste of an innocent life..if justice is not done here(due to insanity plea)it will be done in the afterlife..Rest in peace.
@oga ganys,I feel ur pain but the truth is,if the likes of osama, boko haram,al queda killed people on a neutral level, they would be labelled as the murderers that they are, just like this fellow..but they kill under the guise of Islam, and so,they are labelled the terrorists they are..people commit crimes everyday but not in the name of one religion or the other..the wars u mentioned were fought by and against countries, mostly for economic reasons and not religion..so,until muslims get their act together and fish out the bad eggs,Islam will continue to have a bad ring to it..
