PoliticsRe: Alamieyeseigha: Still Wanted In The UK - Envoy by dohyn(m): 9:53am On Mar 28, 2013
In as much as I really hate the presidential pardon given to Alams,I also don't like double standards..The British government recently released a saudi prince who was jailed for killing his homosexual partner to continue his sentence in Saudi Arabia..so,who's fool who?
Still, the pardon for alams was unpardonable...

The story is really good, engrossing actually..I just feel you could have done better with the ending. It was too bland, sort of a letdown..All in all, nice read sir, quite worth one's time.
CelebritiesRe: Last Photo Of Bisi Komolafe In Hospital Before Her Death by dohyn(m): 12:59am On Jan 03, 2013
cotton101: did someone really really ask what is wrong with that hospital - oh gosh - anyway when someone has not seen a patient in a decent hospital hooked up to all sorts of machines monitoring them you can't really blame them.

apart from the dirty walls is that kind of bed normal to you for a hospital - even my two year old knows that picture looks abnormal
.. People like you make me laugh..You probably live in US/Uk and come online to see the sorry state of things in Nigeria, and make snide remarks..it makes you feel good right?I know what a well equipped hospital looks like and I know that a good percent of our hospitals are not well equipped BUT we make do with what we have,we save lives with what we have..The lives that we save don't make the news, only the ones that we lose do..People then come and say rubbish as if deaths don't occur in US or Uk. The only way our hospitals will be better is if more of our leaders die(yes,I said it),die in them.Maybe, then, funds will be allocated to equipping the hospitals.Sadly, for now,it's the poor that utilize the facilites.
Till then, you diasporans can continue to turn up your noses at the "pathetic state of our hospital walls".We will continue to do our best with the resources available.
My dear, everything is Wrong with that hospital picture, have you been to any well equiped hospital before, definitely NOT what seeing in that picture.
. That picture shows someone lying on a bed and it's not even a full shot. You can't see anything around her in that frame..I'm not saying that the hospital is well-equipped or not,I'm saying that you can't base your judgement like that poster did,on that frame..It's just a negative mindset that people have, nothing is good in this country,it all has to be US or Uk..We don't know what she died of,but already people are assuming that the hospital is bad..A classmate of mine died last december in the Uk during childbirth.Strange, but true.
The reason teaching hospitals seem to have lots of deaths is because of late presentations.Though, that's not the case here.
How do you all expect this woman to survive in this type of hospital no offence to the doctors and nurses God help my family oh don't let me see what will make me have to go to this kind hospital I beg you God Jesus please.
. Can u kindly tell us what is wrong with the hospital? How can you deduce that the hospital is bad from one single picture??It's patients like you that will present late to hospitals after going to churches and God knows where else, yet expect doctors to work miracles..shior
By the way,why a blue cannula though?are her veins that tiny?

My dear,I thought Nigerians were stubborn...apparently,I thought wrong.I never see this your type before oh!!kilode??
You opened a thread some months back about this same boyfriend and his committment issues asking for our advice,we all told you to break up with him because he wasn't serious with you,yet you persisted..I think you aborted for him,he had 2 phones in Nigeria,a girl picked ur calls bla bla bla..Very soon,u'll ask sexkillz to delete this thread, like you did for the previous one.

Anyways,I don't have any advice for you..like I said,"it's only the stubborn fly that will follow the corpse into the grave"..That boy is bad for you,run and don't look back.

@ Op,cool down jare..u've derailed ur own thread already.Granted D-explorer goofed(he should have just walked past the thread) but abusing him with over and over again just aint right..Also,calling out 190 who was just jesting is also not called for..
You'd probably want to "bu" me too but try to restrain yourself and see this as the friendly advice it is..To answer your post,No,I can't do that.

HealthRe: My Experience With A Quack Doctor by dohyn(m): 1:11pm On Oct 10, 2012
Typical...Because a doctor missed the diagnosis, all medical schools/doctors in Nigeria should be thrashed.I wonder where the pediatrician that eventually got the diagnosis right trained?Probably in the US where they never make mistakes right?
I'm not holding fort for the doctor that got it wrong, mistakes happen in medicine just like any other profession, sad to say but it's the truth. All I'm saying is that don't imply/say that all doctors in Nigeria are quacks because of one person's error.
CrimeRe: Uniport Shut Down As Students Set Umuokiri-aluu Ablaze! by dohyn(m):
I have seen countless number of dead people in my line of work..Some right in front of me,still I couldn't watch that video more than once.Even animals get a more humane death than what was meted out to those boys..So,I'm wholly in support of these students.
Granted,an eye for eye makes us all blind but the community struck the first blow.I don't care if the boys were cultists or pastors, that is irrelevant. You don't do things like this and not expect a backlash.I mean, did they expect a pat on the back for killing 4 humans like that??
Like I said in another thread,I was almost lynched by a host community just like this back when I was in school and so,I know how those boys would have felt whilst it was going on.Thank God my story didn't end this way.
The students have struck back, now we can set up "committees" to look into this matter and hopefully, draft a law against jungle justice in Nigeria.Strengthen the police force and let us have faith in them again.Only then will this barbaric act stop in Nigeria.

TV/MoviesRe: Ayo Emerges Winner Of MTN Project Fame West Africa Season 5 by dohyn(m): 11:05am On Sep 30, 2012
Ayo's olufunmi performance was tight,no doubt but that's just one performance out of many..Going by what I've watched,I would have given it to either marvellous or adetoun..If I had to choose,it'd be adetoun..Ayo has always been a distant third for me..The others can queue up as they like.
Anyways,if it's true he won it,congrats to him. This year's competition was interesting, wish them all well.

Nairaland GeneralRe: What Do You Think Of Nairaland's Garri Peeps? by dohyn(m): 3:24am On Sep 05, 2012
I am indifferent about the garri issue but I'm glad it came up.The whole thing started as a harmless joke but seun turned it into a fight when he started banning people.Trust me,the fad would have died out over time if he had ignored it but no,he and his mods(especially that sexkillz of a person)has to exercise power..
Well,Nairalanders have shown him that they won't stand for highhandedness of any sort.My honest take is that he should apologise to everyone he's banned and see if things won't normalize quickly.I know he won't do that though..He's too proud,at least going by his utterances.Anyways,he should remember that power corrupts and absolute power corrupts absolutely..
Just my 2kobo..By the way, seun should muzzle sexkillz a little if he doesn't want nairaland to be killed.
Nairaland General'price Of Garri' Vs 'tribalism' by dohyn(op): 2:19pm On Sep 02, 2012
This is for "oga" seun and his moderators..I've been on Nairaland for some years now and it really is a great place to e-hangout and have fun.Sadly, the fun has been sorely lacking because of tribalism.A lot of people have spoken against this but seun and co refused to do anything about it,probably because it drives traffic.
Well,I have nothing against that, because first and foremost for seun, this is a business and it must make money.Barely a month ago, people starting saying the "price of garri" thing on posts..I must admit it was funny initially but then,it started to wane.My issue is with the speed at which 'oga' seun and co banned the 'garri' crew.I assure you,the tribalists amongst us have done more harm to this forum than the 'garri' crew. What seun did was akin to using a sledgehammer to kill a fly,now 'kuli kuli' has sprung up.
All I'm saying is,seun, try to address the pertinent issues on the forum first. It's very likely this post will not see the light of day but at least,I've said my piece..

It's actually disheartening to see "educated" Nigerian youths re-sending such messages.I asked one of my contacts if she was gonna heed the message and she gave a reply akin to what jibwillz said.Anyways,if my phone's gonna change,I wouldn't mind Galaxy tab,so I'm gonna leave this phone on and pray for a miracle tonight.
Christianity EtcRe: Pastor Bakare Attacks Patience Jonathan by dohyn(m): 10:43am On Aug 06, 2012
Pastor Bakare,I doff my hat to you sir..Your critics will say you shoudl preach the gospel and leave politics alone. But how can that be when your sheep is suffering due to the actions or rather inactions of our politicians, chief of which is Jonathan??To effect a change in this country, you use the means avaialable to you..For you sir, that is the pulpit.Reuben Abati hounded the PDP with his column in The Guardian until he finally go what he wanted..Gullible me thought he wanted to change this country. If pastors like Adeboye,Oyedepo,Oyakhilome spoke out more, this country would be a better place for it.Rather, they are busy laying hands on/praying for Gej at their conventions or buying private jets..RCCG has started their 60th convention now,I can bet my left b.all that Pastor Adeboye will not say anything to his teeming fans.Mind you,he doesn't have to,but then he also didn't have to "annoint" Gej during his campaign.

@op,if you put up a post and say "for muslims only",you should naturally expect non-muslims to want to know what it's about..I think it would have been better if you had left out that phrase.Just my 2 kobo. @maclatunji,you threatening to ban users is just not called for.I'm pretty sure most people don't take kindly to threats. Use your power as a mod wisely,Remember power corrupts and absolute power corrupts absolutely..Thank you. I'm a christian
RomanceRe: Will You consider a Genotype Test Before Marriage? by dohyn(m): 6:32pm On Jul 12, 2012
Firstly, let me correct this probability misconception..if u are AS and ur partner is AS,ur child can either be AA,AS or SS. This means that each pregnancy can only be one of the 3 and it's possible all the pregnancies are AA,AS or SS. There's nothing like 25% probability. U could lucky to have all ur kids AA and also, SS. I hope u get my drift. As for the AS,SC matter,it's not common..what we do have is AC,which is just like AS. I guess SC occurs when an AS marries an AC and they have a child with the SC genotype, which is just like SS but I can assure u,it's a worse type..so,if an AS marries an SC,the combinations that can result are AS,SS and SC. These means that each/all child(ren) borne can have any of the above combinations. It doesn't matter if u have 10 kids. The scenario is the same for each pregnancy and the best one can hope for is an AS. I hope I helped some
