Tor. It's the doctors that still decide to stay in Nigeria that I blame... |
A 2 state solution with Isreal giving up much ground is the only solution here. Otherwise, it will be a never-ending cycle of grief and death. None of those supporting Isreal would accept the same thing Isreal has done to Palestine, just because they have superior might and western backing. You can watch "The Present" on netflix to get an idea of what people in the West Bank go through daily. It's just 24mins long. |
I honestly feel for Palestine.. how can someone take over your land and restrict your movements? Anyways, this is just another phase of the never ending war. It is well |
why all this wahala though? why is Tinubu head of Ecowas at this time? I understand Ecowas's stance on this matter but the way Nigeriens are celebrating the coup makes me think that they should be left to their fate.. We have enough problems of our own as it is.. |
Majority of the comments here are against doctors,as usual. Saying strike is not the way forward. Has the Government ever listened to anything but strikes? In all my years working in the Western world, I've never seen doctors donate their blood or money for patients. The first time I donated blood was so that it could be swapped for a patient who couldn't afford it. I was a medical student then and since donated more. Nothing has changed and it won't change. Nigerian doctors do not deserve to serve the animals called Nigerians. I strongly advise my colleagues to leave that country ASAP. Rest in peace Dr Vwaere. |
This is just high handedness by the authorities. This guy has a World tour that's meant to start in 2 days time. Na wa o |
I can't believe I read this long advert for CCC till the end. I hope you paid Seun for this advert sha. |
This is clout sha. To the best of my knowledge, the Obstetrics team make the decision to induce when labour is not progressing as expected/ woman is past her due date or other reasons. It's not for the husband to decide, talkless planning to induce on a specific day. But let him enjoy his moment of fame. |
Thank you for the correction. My question is, was Falz elected by Nigerians to provide any service to them? Was he given taxpayers money to provide shelter or healthcare to Nigerians? No. Buhari and by extension, APC, BAT are elected officials who have been given this mandate. So, if they seek medical attention outside the country without providing good healthcare for Nigerians, they should be made to account for it. Which is what Falz and others have been doing. I don't see the reason why Falz would be abused for using his own money to take care of his own health. I see there's really not much hope that Nigeria will get better going by a lot of comments by supposedly educated people in this thread. gawu1: |
I don't know why APC fools are crying. Falz is not a politician, he's a private citizen who can do whatever he wishes with his money. He sustained the ACL tear playing football last November. Waited till May to do the operation, a whole 6 months. He likely had to apply for visa, gather his money and get it done. Your foolish politicians would have flown straight to UK or Paris in Nov for the operation on taxpayers bill. You can imagine the kind of pain he must have been enduring since last year. |
I'm not aware that we routinely screen patients for bleeding disorders when they register for antenatal care. So, how would the excessive bleeding have been pre-empted? She delivered a baby boy vaginally. Afterwards, she started to bleed. Post parturition haemorrhage is a known complication of delivery and she had hysterectomy to correct/stem the bleeding. When one looses a lot of blood, the brain shuts down "non essential" organs to ensure blood supply to essential organs. That caused the kidney failure. You can Google causes of acute kidney injury for more information. The doctors tried to prevent organ shut down and that's why he was asked to buy 22 pints of blood. Unfortunately, there's something called DIC (google), which must likely happened Afterwards and probably began a cascade that led to her sad demise. Lastly, since you are not persuaded, I don't think any further explanation will change your mind, so I won't be taking this any further. I have always maintained that the Nigerian public's default position is to hate doctors, so there's no need to try and engage them. This one that I've done sef na overs*bi. Take care Update: I can see some people on this page are still not satisfied with the explanations my colleagues and I have put here. Honestly,na just to dey browse nairabet and goal.com some of una dey use your smartphones to do. Please use your phones to gain knowledge abeg, it's freely available online. linearity: |
Firstly, no medical student would be allowed to carry out a Caesarean operation. I know this because I'm a doctor trained in Nigeria.I initially thought it was done by a resident, who is a qualified doctor already, but now, we know it's a consultant who did it. 2) Complications are sadly, part of operations and normal standard procedure anywhere in the world is to inform the patient of these risks. Rarely would you see any "experienced professional" who hasn't had a complication before. So, it's not damaging. 3) I've explained why she had kidney failure in the previous thread. It's not due to "tampering" with her kidney. 4) was the hospital wrong in arranging an MDT meeting with the husband? Would you have preferred they ignored him? It's hard to please Nigerians. linearity: |
Glad to see the hospital has come out to say something. I understand the man is angry and hurt,so I don't blame him for his write up.Also, this is Nigeria, the public tends to believe whoever puts the story out first, especially if they are the aggrieved party. At least, we now know it was a consultant who carried out the operation, and not a "student doctor" as claimed in the initial story. Makes one wonder what else might be been embellished in the initial story. It is well |
The Western hypocrisy is so nauseating. How many migrant workers died in Qatar before they started their campaign against Qatar. Over 12000 people have died due to gun violence just this year alone, yer US will still host the world cup. It's maddening. |
To be honest, I can't say. Years ago, I would have said Teaching hospitals because of the wide range of experience the doctors there would have. You'd have Professors, Consultants and Residents all with various input. But now that even a Paediatric Professor is leaving Nigeria to start Residency in the US, I'd hesitate to recommend anything. I graduated over a decade ago and I'd say only 10% of my classmates are still in Nigeria right now. The country is just existing on vibes and cruise. Make una just dey hail the doctors wey still remain for naija. OvertheTop: |
I like what the Mods have done this morning. 2 different front page posts about Nigerian doctors back to back.. One vilifying them and this one, painting them in a good light. Let's see back and read comments in both threads. Also, see which one will garner more traffic... Enjoy |
I usually don't like to comment on threads like this because the Nigerian public hates doctors and their minds are already made up irrespective of any explanation you may give. However, that wasn't a medical student. The doctor is likely a resident in training, but definitely not a student. 2) Hysterectomy (removal of the womb) can be done as a last resort to save the patient's life when all efforts to stop the bleeding has failed. 3) The bleeding caused reduced blood supply to her kidneys, making them shut down, leading to kidney failure and subsequent dialysis. It's a very sad story and unfortunate outcome. |
Please can someone explain why the Ayiri guy has been at loggerheads with the Olu? Also, I understand he was asked to take his father's old title but he refused. What does all this mean? Thanks |
There's no advice to give. You know what/who caused your son to turn out this way. You and your husband should make amends before it's too late.. that's all |
You rarely open posts like this and find sensible comments.. It's always a Tribal war that dominates the thread. I see people mocking the old man because he may have supported APC as he's Yoruba.. However, would an Obi victory have prevented this attack? Or even others in the future? I also wanted Obi to win but it is what it is. Let's think before we post things abeg. Believe me, fulani herdsmen is the least of my worries where I am. I only come on nairaland to get news about Nigeria. God bless Nigeria. |
Several truths can exist at the same time. 1) Igbos are voting massively for Peter Obi based on tribe. I know he's competent but the tribal factor is key for them. 2) People should be able to vote for their candidate without derision even though it's the stupid choice, cos that's what democracy is all about. 3) A lot of Imams have pitched their tents publicly with Muslim candidates, so Adefarasin shouldn't shy away from pitching his as well. Point 2 still stands for him as well. 4) Any sensible person who wants the best for Nigeria would know that the best candidate contesting is Peter Obi. This means that if you want the best for your country, you would have to forgo tribal affiliations. 5) Most people supporting Tinubu and Atiku are doing so because of what they are gaining financially or what they think they would gain financially if their candidate wins. That's all |
People are speculating that his dead fiancée's family might have a hand in his death. Apparently, the lady was from Durban and her family is very wealthy. He had been warned not to come to Durban but he refused and even planned to celebrate his birthday there. Infact, the girl's father had business on the street were he was killed. It's like saying they warned you not to come to Lagos, you now decided to go eat amala at Adeniran Ogunsanya street in Surulere, knowing fully well that the late girl's family are still angry about her death. Her dad even released a statement after his death consoling his family, saying he knows how it feels to lose a loved one. Tor |
I think China is just being troublesome with this balloon. It's probably a harmless balloon used to gather weather information but allowing it to cross US airspace and stay there for days was a deliberate attempt to find trouble. I hope people that are claiming Biden is weak are aware that during the tenure of their macho man trump, China sent a balloon 3 times into US airspace without retaliation and this news was hidden from the public? No be talk am, na Pentagon. |
Both client and lawyer are cut from the same cloth. How can a Lawyer not know the right words to use in a legal document ? Fowl is different from foul, which is the right word. Anyways, this argument is dead on arrival. She used p***y to get certificate and it should be collected from her. That's all |
This is obviously a made up story for engagements. I'm not saying the OP who posted it here made it up but whoever first wrote this story, made it up. Unfortunately, it's not very engaging otherwise plenty blogs would have carried the story. Still, nice try. |
I don't know what made me open the thread seeing that I no sabi maths. Infact, I was the first person to drop further maths in my set back then. If I could drop maths gan gan during Waec, I wouldn't have hesitated. Glad to see you got the answer on the 1st page and no be say only olodo like me full nairaland. |
Someone will likely be jailed for this. Most probably the organisers/promoters of the show. It's possible they might have sold more tickets than the venue's capacity. So sad |
Ghztz |
Why the lies? Baba's last wish was probably to nack another yellow sisi. Wetin concern am with ojuyobo? |
Who the Bleep is this idiot? Threatening to beat his sister because she's not married? I swear some sperms should have ended up in the condom.. He's even not ashamed to say she still caters for him financially. Idiot |
Lol.. baba don broke. He dey find awoof money |
To be fair, Mercy didn't mention his name. Nedu did, of which I expected better from him going by his recent travails. Then, that clout chaser on blonde hair continued it. The stupid Mike is/was actually Ike's friend as evidenced by Ike's latest post on IG. Anyways, there's always that guy who cannot hold himself and talks rubbish when a woman gives him small attention. Nedu and Mike are typical examples..idiots |
