For those getting gassed because of David Cameron's bond investment you need to open your eyes. This is as much political as it is for economical reasons, something of which still doesn't benefit the borrower.
To comply with sharia law, Islamic investors are forbidden to receive interest, isn't it? Sukuks for instance issued in Britain and Germany avoid this problem by ensuring the fixed return investors receive on the debt is linked to the profit generated by an underlying asset." You can quote me anywhere and to any banker.

This is basically trying to sidestep Allah with a technicality lol

Oh.. news flash anyone cheesy. Dubai has just set up a financial centre which has its own civil and commercial laws, its own courts, and laws based on the best bits of English law precisely, defaulting to the laws of England in case of ambiguity. Don't you just love the Arabscheesy? Oh Nigerians..

Anyway, any more questions will be swiftly answered as long as someone's life is saved from the scam. Need to get back to my research work cool.

today Obj is a saint In the eyes of Apc.
Ameachi plundered rivers state, left 4months backlog, locked down offices of unloyal lg Chair, judiciary, crippled activities in legislature, abandoned projects, bought jet and helicopter for campaigns, wasted the states funds in APC,

he is now a saint, because he's in APC.

tell calculate it with the revenue being generated by both sides of the divide and wake me up when your done.

When your doing NYSC in North some states doesn't pay at all why the Highest paying state Jigawa pays 5K, but here in South the lowest paying states pay 5K while the highest Lagos, Rivers and Akwa Ibom pay like 15K....Northern NYSC will come down South make money but Southern NYSC members will go to North to live on cheap beans and goat meat N800 a month after which the Southern corpers will do CDS like boreholes and toilets for them through their uniform Federal allawe. grin grin grin grin grin grin and no state alawe to back up.

These are the subconscious ways to rob you of your resources but you don't know, you won't know and am scared if you will ever know.
Have you notice there is a little or no activity on this thread? People are scared of the truth so they would rather occupy themselves with irrelevant things. What a shame. Eventually, people will wake up maybe in the next 200 years but they will. The best thing is for you to make the current situation work for you as much as you can while contributing less to the federal government.

Southerners are myopic and stuupid, look at the North wanted Sharia in a secular Nigeria and got it, they have Sharia police in breaking beer bottles in North but they will collect taxes generated from the Booze Industry from the South.

Southerners are in the state of trance, they are stupi-id, ediotss and myopic.

Have you seen where Northerners sell their cows in Lagos along Agege Railway line, go and see how that place but they will make the money and return it to North without renovating the place and paying any tax, this is their way in East, all the garikis in East are dirty and stinking because of livestock dungs.

Southerners are bunch of stuupid and useless people, SE is begging for one more state to balance it to 6 but North Central as 7 states 1 in excess.
These states and bogus LGs are how resources down South are being shared, plundered and looted by the North, if we say they tag us enemies of the state.

Let's see what will happen now, the only revenue generator now is NLNG and Nigeria custom, plus coys in south that pay duties and taxes to FG, oil has gone down South and remedy aint in sight.
Tell me about the stupiditty of the southerners. This is the reason I don't take most Nigerians seriously.

I am not sure issue of roads is really relevant in this discourse because state are in charge of state roads while fg control federal roads
They are, because they cannot fund it. Newyork contribute about 13% to the federal government. Do you think they can survive on less than 1% like lagos is currently doing? With more populations and companies, you tends to have more to do in terms of project and providing for people's basic needs.
The roads is pretty relevant because OGUN state government is not getting enough to run the state despite contributing a large sum. You can't compare it to sokoto who only has teachers, policemen to pay. Are you a northerner or YORUBA? I need to understand the context behind your comments. I don't expect a yoruba or an Igbo person to say the roads is not relevant. You can't just give people peanut and say get on with it. I am pissed.

The issue is this.

I was in Ogun state on December 2011 around Lambe/Akute/Ajuwon area, I saw one massive project the governor embarked on two big flyovers that will connect those areas to Berger Bus stop.

Last month I was chatting with my sister who lives around that axis, she told me they are suffering bad road, I asked what happened to the massive flyovers and bridges the governor was building she said they are abandoned at 40percent completion.
Now Ogun State is collecting how much from federal allocation despite accommodating many coys that pay taxes to FG, how many LGs does ogun have, how many does Lagos has.

Kano have 44LGs when Jigawa was still inside Kano, we Jigawa was carved out of Kano, Kano still retain her 44 LGs while another 23 germinated in the newly created Jigawa from nowhere.
So does it mean Kano was having 77LGs before the creation of Jigawa.

Now Ogun couldn't complete all her projects because she has many schools to pay teachers salaries from meagre allocation while Kano that have lesser schools that the most backward state in the south will always have enough money to play around.

Open your eyes, when Igbos point out all these lopsidedness of the Nigeria state you people will tag us cry babies and wailers.

Niger Delta oil is down, all eyes on Lagos and surrounding economies down south because the North is barren.
Oh God! This is beginning to get to me now cry. I am too angry for words. Justice will soon prevail and the people's eyes will open. Most Yorubas don't seem to care about this at all. SW have worked hard to attract big companies and they can't even benefit from their sweats. I heard the northern region has the best roads in the country?
This is why I am no longer against the call for biafra.

Love coverth all sins.

During census they were told that Kano was more populated than Lagos, they accepted it bc the NPC was a Gambari and President an Odua.

Now Kano without virtually anything to the center is getting more allocation than those bringing something.
The price of oil is down, Lagos will bear the brunt of Nigeria revenue generation why Kano collects with her 44 LGs.
Sooner or later I would be left with no choice but to leave nairaland. You know when you are helplessly hoping and fighting for people to see the light but they are instead closing their eyes.... if the bank gives him an interest free lone, will he reject it.
It is not an interest free loan as much as you would like to think. Go and do your research. Islamic Banking or Shariah Finance as it is usually referred to, is the biggest scam ever to have been perpetrated on the naive Muslim public.

Instead of paying market-related rates of interest on borrowings as they normally would at the regular banks, Muslims are instead charged extortionate rates of interest and this is now dishonestly called profit.

The moolas who sit on these Shariah Boards are the biggest beneficiaries of this rip-off of the Muslim communities. How sad to see piety betrayed by greed. How very un-Islamic! Oyo state people needs to be educated and really fast before they get even more stupidd. I was reading up on Oyo empire the other day, about how rich and successful it was. What a shame.
PoliticsRe: Nigerian Islamic Bank Set To Begin Operation In Ibadan by Dollyak(f): 8:09am On Aug 03, 2015
You know what? Hopefully, this is the only thing they will adopt from their northern muslim brothers. I am not surprise as to why Oyo state looked so backward the last time we passed through... lipsrsealed.

I don't know why Muslims deceive themselves with sharia banking which is almost impractical economically speaking (hello dubai undecided). As I understand "Islamic" banking products, they operate in the same way as other financial products - banks borrowing money at interest on the markets, providing debt finance to businesses and individuals but calling the interest something else.

Other approaches are for the bank to buy the asset (car, house) and for the borrower to buy the asset from the bank in installments, paying more than the bank paid for it originally, reflecting the time value of money - AKA interest by any other name.

The resulting high costs mean Muslims still prefer standard borrowing plans in the UK and most countries. Even nominally Islamic states like Saudi Arabia make sure to invest their funds in non-sharia products and companies.

I think the word here is "gullibility." Rather like "halal" meat that has actually been stunned, you will find someone to label your product halal. One of the leading clerics, Muhammad Taqi Usmani estimated that 85% of sukuk (sharia-compliant bonds) actually weren't.

Nigerians are simply gullible and incredibly stupidd lipsrsealed
