This church is at Amule, Ayobo Ipaja. The high tension structure is an abandoned one and it's not connected to any electricity at all.
That makes more sense to me. You can't cheat physics, they would have been burnt alive Building a house so close to the pylon

Depending on the voltages, you can technically build a house close to (not under)a pylon structure provided the minimum clearance of 6m is reached, of which isn't the case here.

I'll be very worried about Earth potential rise and step and touch voltages.

Are you sure this isn't a telephone mast?

Politics / Re: Oyo State Workers Get August Salary 2 Days Ahead Of Schedule by Dollyak(f): 5:24pm On Aug 23, 2019
There are a lot of illiterates on this thread. If you're contracted to get paid by 25th of every month, you either get paid on or before that date. This is usually the case when 25th falls on a weekend or bank holiday.

This wouldn't be a big deal in a normal - functioning country but in Nigeria i guess it's laudable.

I think 11k will serve the whole country with reasonable electricity. I may be wrong sha
11GW is not enough to power lagos and Ogun let alone Nigeria. In addition 11GW is the peak power and not the distribution load.

In as much as I agree with some of your submissions, when comments like " things like this don't come up there" or comments like "only in Nigeria", it waters down your argument.

Accidents happen anywhere in the world where humans are.

Watch air crash investigations and see accidents happen even in advance counties, don't down play your own.
I think is point is valid. How often do you see aquaplaning on a major runway in developed countries? It's because they always ensure the friction status of the runway are assessed periodically.

There are quite a few ways to mitigate against aquaplaning so this is not a valid excuse.
Travel / Re: Air Peace Plane Overshoots Runway In Port Harcourt by Dollyak(f): 10:40pm On Jun 22, 2019
Reference:

Have you ever heard of aquaplaning before talking rubbish.
You'll normally need at least 3mm of water depths for aquaplaning to occur and that's with a light aircraft which isn't the case in this scenario.

Anyways, it's the airport responsibility to ensure the runway is suitable for landing which is the point the previous poster was trying to make by using snow etc. as an example.
The sooner you guys stop making excuses for incompetence in Nigeria the better.

The whole presidential thingy is so shortsighted man. I'll be more concerned about the direction of the country than a presidential slot that hasn't and won't make any difference to my region.

As usual most Nigerians (SW included) are easily impressed as shown by few comments above, something of which isn't their fault but a result of a progressive assault on intellectualism in Nigeria.

You talk yet lack knowledge. How dumb are you? At least do research before talking about things you are clueless about. There are countless articles and documentaries proving this.

Dimwit, perhaps you need to borrow the collective brain power of your family before talking to me.

There are context to every story and you can't just come online to quote garbage link without understand the context.
Western countries on average does have the lowest maternity mortality compared to other countries. The high usa whatever is with respect to other western countries amd not third world countries of which Nigeria falls under.

An average British citizen is poorer than pre 2007 financial crisis but that doesn't make him poor when compared to third world countries or in OECD context. Context matters!!

Perhaps you should check out the link below before exposing your simple mind.

Even US has the highest mortality rate for pregnant women in the western world. Pregnancy can be a very dangerous time in a woman’s life. So many factors can cause death.

Your comment about US high maternity mortality rate is grossly untrue and misleading, at least compared to third world countries like Nigeria.

Hence why you need a health visitor and a nurse to keep track of the changes in your body.

Something as common as high blood pressures is enough to kill the mum.

I will keep reiterating my point about the shitty health care in Nigeria.

In UK new mothers are provided with health visitor and a nurse to ensure both the mum and baby arr okay.
