Am about to give a bribe and this is what happen. Around middle of 2009 i notice that the NEPA official bring flat rate bill every month. ( some of you night have notice earlier). this amount ranges from like 900 Naira to 12000 Naira every month. I challenge the Marketing department of NEPA concerning this outrageous billing then i was told that though they charge flat rate base on numbers of hours we had light and flat type and also our meter is a three phase meter. I return home to discover that our meter is a single phase meter, clearly written on it and with a single phase connection. I return to the NEPA office to inform them that my meter is a single phase meter with a single phase connection on it. I was told to write a letter which i did immediately. Till date i have written up to twelve different letters most of which where acknowledge by the marketing manager secretary, till now my bill still carry R3 with N11 as multiplier instead of R2 which carry N7 as multiplier.Based on the analyses that was done with single phase meter my monthly bill will be maximum around 4,652 Naira, forget about the multiplier there are some unnecessary charges attached to three phase meter. Late 2010 when i wanted to summit another request letter to effect the change i saw a guy at NEPA office who mention alternative way of making my request process snappy but i have to pay them 7,000 Naira then i refuse. Last Thursday when i went to NEPA office to pay another outrageous bill i saw this guy again, he didn't even recognize me anymore but upon explanation i was told to pay 12,000 Naira this time, that i can even made part payment and once the deal is done i will balance the rest. We are still negotiating and hope he will come down to 10,000 Naira, guess i have no choice now. |

Never tourch your ATF unless the auto light give a warning signal or there is a leakage except for the regular top up if the fluid is low. I bought a tokumbo car and i decided to do general servicing including changing the entire gear oil and after the servicing the gear started bringing up different issues. I end up changing the gear so i will advice you never to tourch the gear except if fault is detected. Naija workshop not to even talk about the road side mechanic are yet to master the maintenance and servicing of gear system |
I nominate Siena, He has been so helpful in this forum and i hope he establish a modern workshop in nigeria where graduate can learn and we can stop having all these inexperience mechanic all over naija. Thanks alot for your contributions. |
"Doctor please tell oga we are hungry we no won fight" Why is ojukwu forcing the people against their will, am very sure his also interested in the oil. |
I have been wondering if there is any other profitable fresh water fish farming that can be done in artificial pond or semi natural habitat other than catfish. There are many ads on this forum that is tag fish farming but end up realizing that its catfish farming. There are other edible and highly demand fish species in the market other than catfish or is it that catfish is easier or less risky to rear than other species of fish. Please drop your idea if you know of other Fresh water fish or even SALT WATER fish that can be raise in artificial pond and are in high demend and PROFITABLE. I know raising a salt water fish in an artificial enviroment might requires lot of technicality but if got one lets hear it, there is no business without risk. |

chemicalmyt:safety is a very wide course and if you want to be a safety engineer you really need to do some professional course which are very expensive. You can start with NEBOSH IGC, A company in Nigeria call Global HSE use to bring NEBOSH certified trainers from uk once in a year for the training it cost like 350k for two weeks, after which u can now go for process safety in oil and gas course offered by Primatech in USA, OSHA, NEBOSH, CCPS and so on. Better still you can do a master program in one the foreign versity in process safety. Most company prefer safety engineers with operational experience so you have to think twice before putting your money down because this are very expensive course |

manmacho:Which animal stick to one wife or which part of animal kingdom stick to one wife, Seems you watch too much of cartoon. @Maclatunji i concur, Please nairalanders don't let us be sentimental about this issue, the truth we can see all around us. At least Africa trandition allow polygamy in the first place and as maclatunji has express, it is not a must but also not a sin to mary more than one wife in Islam. Am not even looking at adultery point of view as as other posters has express, but it is very obvious that there are lot of Ladies nowadays that are not marry,go to the banking sectors, customer care services for telecomms, lots of multinational company, etc, you see a lots of these over age girls/ladies not yet marry. Let us take sentiments away from this issue and analyze things critical from our experience, reality and observations around us to know if Islam have a point or not. I have learn to blindly criticise but to watch closely if there is any truth init. |

One this advantage is that the cost of kerosine is higher than deisel. Deisel engine uses compression ignition method for the combustion process and most of the design factors would have been consider for deisel as fuel, subjecting kerosine to that same factor in the machine might not ignite. Please move this topic to engineering section if there is. |
I think you guys should read this, found on the web site. How it all began Not having a television, I had not heard about the blockade of oil refineries by the farmers and lorry drivers. I was therefore not unduly alarmed when I saw the queues forming at every petrol filling station in our area of North Wales, at the beginning of what was to become the fuel crisis in 2000. I had not realized that there was a spate of panic buying of petrol and diesel caused by the direct action against the supply of fuel. I assumed the next petrol station would not be so crowded, and I carried on with my business that day not wanting to waste time in queues. So by the time I did join a queue, I was nearly out of diesel, and my wife needed the car early in the morning to get to her early shift as a hospital nurse. She did not want to have to shop for diesel in the early hours. When I got to the head of the queue I was confounded by a simple sign which read:- Sorry, no diesel But by then all the diesel was sold out, and every station told me that there would be no more supplies for days, maybe even weeks. I was desperate, but all I could do was to drive home hoping that the car would make it up the mountain to our house. I got home, fearing what I would have to tell my wife. As I got out of the car I looked at our nearly full kerosene tank. How different was kerosene and diesel? I remembered how old TVO tractors seemed to start on one fuel and then burn another. I thought about it and what the risks might be. If anything, the car would not run, or it would coke with unburnt carbon, and that would soon clear if revved up. In any case I reconned that the short term use of an alternative fuel would not caused any major disaster. So I drew about 10 liters of kerosene out of the central heating tank, and put it into the car. I shook the car a bit to mix the kerosene with what little diesel was left and I started the car. Nothing seemed different. The engine ran as it had before. I drove up the mountain road carefully, knowing that if anything went wrong I could at least drift down hill again and tell my wife the worst. But nothing went wrong. The car drove just as it did normally. So I added some more kerosene, and thinking that this may not have any form of upper cylinder lubricant, I added a litre of vegetable fat that we would otherwise have put in our chip pan. I did another test run and the car flew up the mountain. Instead of making the normal 'clickety-click' noise, this time the engine had a distinct 'grunt'. The exhaust had a nice smell as well. So I left the car half full of fuel and I told my wife nothing. I spent the evening exploring the internet on alternative transport fuels, and that is how I discovered sites telling me all about how to make BIO-DIESEL. Early in the morning my wife drove the car to hospital unaware that she was breaking the law. When she returned later in the afternoon, concerned that we only had half a tank of diesel left, I asked if the car was OK. She looked a bit quissical but replied "It seemed OK - why?" In other words what is wrong with our heap of a car now? "And you had better get some fuel because they say there is no diesel anywhere around here" I felt a bit like the magician who can pull countless silk handkerchiefs out of a hat. "Don't worry about the need to get more fuel. I have that sussed." Secretly, I continued to put more kerosene and vegetable fat into the car until normal diesel supplies were restored. But by now I was convinced that we should make some BIO-DIESEL, and I discussed the idea and copied pages of information to my practical friend Steve Williams. He was immediately enthusiastic. Unlike me, Steve is the sort of person who if he does not have an engine in pieces somewhere, is looking for one. He owned and once raced with a methanol burning motor-cycle, and knew something about the more unusual forms of engine. We started getting the basic kit together, and contacted his friend Paddy to help with welding. Paddy was even more enthusiastic, and before we could blink, he had made a Waste Vegetable Oil conversion for his Mercedes van. This can be seen on the 'Goat Industries' website, and Paddy has gone on to develop an intricate conversion kit to enable most engines to run on SVO. It was from this simple beginning that 'Bio-Power' was formed, to explore and exploit all ways by which organic oils and fats can be profitably used as fuels, thereby reducing significantly the environmental effects of burning fossil fuels. There is now a network of nearly 120 small businesses in the UK, and is involved in several major overseas contracts involving both processing plant and the supply of fuel. |
