I will even take that paper (notice), sprinkle a little water on it, squeeze it to softness and then proceed to use it as tissue. ![]() **I no send u jor** |
ujchief: bros, be careful. Benue is a beautiful place, every state in naija has its challanges. Take care. Thanks bro, I just got a new place with accomodation and an appreciable incentive in the town. |
^^^No be small thing bro. I never knew God was using me to avert what could've become the worst 10 months of my life. I still thank God for the rejection letter. The village is just a few minutes drive to Cameroun. |
donigspain: Turan Community Secondary School, Kwande L.G.A of Benue State but I hope to talk the Principal into rejecting me cuz I've got an eye for another secondary school in Kwande town.Just like I predicted, and to my own blessing, the school rejected me. Arrived the school at about a few minutes before 2pm but was delayed till 5pm by the indecisive principal who took almost all the time making up his mind while I was busy indirectly 'chipping-in' some rejection-catalyst statements. Finally got my rejection letter together with two others and while making it to village park to board a bus back to the secretariat, we were directly met with a community violence (gunshots, running, shouts). Hmmm, it wasn't funny at all. I had to run for my dear life in such a speed that would surpass that of Hussein Bolt. I witnessed someone got shot down before my presence. We had to hurriedly charter a saloon car at an exubitant price. I thank God for all that happened today. I will meet with the principal of another school am eyeing tomorrow. Hopefully I will be accepted. |
zubbainno123: Bro I was posted †̥☺ a very big private skul very close †̥☺ ♍Ɣ house here in lagos, but unfortunate the principal rejected M̶̲̅ε̲̣̣̣̥ nd D̶̲̥̅̊ other two corpers sent there. Not to worry, you'll get a better place soon. |

Morale is very high here as we draw nearer to our last day on camp. White shirts and shorts have been turned to objects of autograph collection. Almost everyone has got one crazy inscription or the other. The camp director is not finding it funny at all and thus he is going about ordering anyone with an autographed outfit to overturn the cloth and wear it. Donigspain reporting from Benue camp. *Below is an extract of yours faithfully's brand of autographs...

Morale is low here in Benue camp following the untimely death of one of our soldiers who was shot dead by unidentified gunmen (totalling 42 in number) in the early hours of friday (3am) while trying to gain entrance into the camp from where they could have carried out their nefarious acts (for full details; check the NYSC section for a thread on the incident). Thank God their plan was in futile and our allawee (over 40 million naira) later paid. The camp-fire night was done but on a mournful note; no central fire. My platoon came 2nd in the cooking competition. Now we have 1 gold, 1 silver, 2 bronze medals. Donigspain reporting from Benue camp. |
Good morning all, new information is coming out as time goes by in relation to the killing of the soldier. Latest information I got yesterday suggests that one of the gunmen was apprehended later in the day on that same friday and after much military 'interrogation' he gave out useful information to the authorities concerning their mission. The information suggests that they (gunmen) were 42 in number and were coming for over 45 million naira brought in by CBN bullion van late on thursday which was meant for the payment of corpers' monthly 'allawee'. The 42 gunmen were already strategically lying in the forest opposite the camp well armed and were only waiting for final orders from their 'commander' before they start the ambush but (un)fortunately the soldier (RIP) mounting the gate was pressed and needed to take a pee in that same bush. While trying to pee he stumbled upon human figures in the forest and thus, in reflex, shouted at them by questioning what they could be doing in the forest at that ungodly hour. They replied his question with gunshots directed at him thus the sound of the shots alerted other soldiers who started running towards the forest thereby causing the gunmen to flee. Other vital information obtained from the captured gunman led to the killing of 7 of the members of the gang in a raid by the military yesterday (saturday). The corpses of the 7 dead gunmen was brought to the camp gate yesterday immediately after the military raid for inspection by the camp commandant. In a nutshell, the untimely death of the soldier (named James) averted much potential bloodshed. Who knows what would have become our fate if the gunmen had gained entrance into the camp with their sophisticated ammunition; maybe another Mubi killings. Maybe I would've been hit by either a directed or a stray bullet. Officer James died for us all in Benue camp and we are all in full understanding of his brave sacrifice. An officer decorated for his role in FOUR peacekeeping missions. A lion is dead but the spirit will forever dwell in our hearts. Donigspain reporting from Benue camp. |
The morale in Benue camp is low following the news of the death of a soldier shot by unknown gunmen in the early hours of friday (yesterday) while at his duty post. A very promising young man he was. We all are so sad and down as a result of this ugly incident. Today is also predicted to going to be hot in Benue state as they hold their local government elections today. Donigspain reporting from Benue camp. |
It's a very sad situation. They've ended up turning a once lively and peaceful camp into a graveyard-like scenario. He was a very friendly soldier. He even killed a snake in the female hostel a few hours (in same night) before he met an untimely death. He accidentally stumbled upon a criminal base inside the forest opposite the camp as he went to ease himself and all the stupid gunmen could reply his rather reflex question of 'who are you and what are you doing here in the bush at this ungodly hour' was with two gunshots, one below the groin and another in the stomach . I pray those criminals meet their waterloo someday soon. |
One of the soldiers manning the perimeters of the Benue State NYSC Orientation Camp at Wannune Village, Tarka LGA was in the early hours of today precisely at about 3am shot dead while on duty by unidentified gunmen. The ugly incident resulted to a temporal disruption of the daily early morning meditation and parade for about 30 minutes as corp members where forced back into their various hostels in order give enough room for the military personnels attached to the camp to curtail the situation. The unlucky soldier was, immediately after the incident, rushed to an undisclosed hospital in the state capital (Markudi) from where he was reported to have died. At the time of typing this report, security has been placed on red alert and corpers advised to maintain peace and order. It is worthy to note that the Benue State Local Government Chairmanship Elections will hold tomorrow (saturday, 24th November); a coincident huh? I leave you to judge. So sad now. These soldiers have been very friendly and responsible since we arrived the camp. Don't know why this happened. ![]() Donigspain reporting from Benue NYSC Camp... ![]() ![]() |

Benue NYSC Social Night in progress... Mr Macho and Miss NYSC. |
Woooo, Platoon 11 the 'winning platoon'... I became a hero yesterday for helping my platoon to secure a place in the semi-finals of the inter platoon football competition by keeping 3/4 of platoon 6's penalty kicks. It was so ecstatic that even our platoon ladies joined in lifting me high up in the air after the final whistle. I am optimistic we're gonna make it to the last two (final). Yea, got ma cap back late last night... Donigspain reporting from Benue camp. |
Just got de-capped by a soldier cuz I shouted 'am tired of this camp'. The dude took ma cap and on much man-man reasoning promised to give it back tomorrow. |
Reporting live from Benue NYSC camp @ wannune village, Tarka L.G.A. Benue camp is as hot as the Hip Hop section in Hell. Camp activities at its peak. Got drafted to platoon 11 and has since represented in inter platoon football competition. Still having ma daily meals at the mammi market with few visits to the camp kitchen. Platoons are currently taking turns in preparing the meals with platoon 2's meals presently leading the appreciation chart in terms of quality and service (quantity is a no-go-area). Yesterday was Platoon 4's turn but unfortunately they lost out in both football and volley inter-platoon competition and thus decided to transfer the bottled-up aggression on innocent us. The dinner was made 'ready' at few minutes past 9pm as against the 7pm norm. The quality of the so called rice is a disaster. The soldiers are quite friendly and playful; so no bullying. I must confess my disaffection for 'em lectures and seminars; more like a marketing avenue. Theft cases are presently limited to the female hostel - a lady was caught stealing a blackberry curve 1 .Had my Man O' War drills today. Gotta rest now. Will be back with more reports as events unfold. Holla me if you're in Benue camp. Ciao! ![]() |
Am in benue state camp... Contact/quote me if you wish to hang-out with a jolly good fella. Gracias amigos!!! |
In camp already... Done with registeration, drafted to PLATOON 11 which is headed by an awkwardly (in a good way) interesting character, got ma kits but must confess that the kaki outfit is annoyingly oversize and ridiculously out of shape . Moved straight to the hostel and got myself a pretty cool room with my room mates kinda reserved and exhibiting 'introvertic' character; suprisingly, me likey. Errhm, holla/notify/quote me if you wanna hang-out with a spooky jolly good fella. Gracias amigos!!! Ciao... |
