I really do like roland17.
Just came across this again. How you know someone who indeed cares about his homeland.
Roland17:
I will admit that you are doing a great job at not only selling your candidate but more importantly, mobilizing people to get registered. To be honest, I am disappointed at how badly monetized the selection process has been in Nigeria thus far. P. Obi is relatable when you listen to him speak and he understands the process of simplifying administration/ Governance, however, does he have the reach on a National level? I love his courage and the resolve he is showing this time around, in comparison to the last time out. His decision to leave PDP for me showed a courage and a sense of self belief. Also, personally for me, the next president absolutely has to solve the despicable levels of insecurity and power generation in Nigeria for Nigeria to stand any chance improving its economic realities. For all we know and from experience, previous exposure to governance does not necessarily mean the candidate will do great things at the National level.

You guys supporting Obi should do more in speaking about his achievements in governance (public/ private) from like Obi did in the video you attached, especially from 13:00-25:00 than fighting other contestants. Let me also add that the last thing Obi needs right now is any kind of distraction or infighting within the Labor Party which is what seems to be going on with the factions in Labor Party.

PDP will miss the golden years of Saraki, Dino, Ben Bruce and Shehu Sani cheesy

With these numbers in the Senate and House, I'm expecting Wike to start filling in APC form soon in order to try and fulfill his Presidential ambition. Gubernatorial will also be a whitewash meaning PDP will have no more funds to operate. That will.put too.much financial strain on Rivers State and Wike and he will switch sides. He was already begging Buhari that he will give him Presidential if Buhari does not make Gubernatorial hard for him. Wike will try to join APC, mark my words.

APC will simply become the new PDP

Bros, tribalism is for the poor.

Na poor people dey tear cloth and throw insults like you see on front page. The rich people don't even see tribe or religion in their dealings
Drop millions of Benjamins, and watch Igbo, Yoruba and Hausa Generals cling glasses together.

This sentence is blatantly false. As in, it's entirely not true. For fvcks sake, we have a living proof here amongst us.

Seriously, the notion that bigotry and prejudice is not for rich people is entirely false. There are soo many examples to pick from. Is it from landlords and homeowners rejecting tenants from specific tribes, is it white people rejecting to offer their services to black people? Or Germans outrightly relegating all Jews and having nothing to do with them even those who have money, infact the rich Jews had their entire money and property confiscated and given to state and channelled towards war efforts. Money couldn't save the Jews.
There are soo many instances of families rejecting the marriage partner of their children irrespective of wealth because of the person's tribe, be it Igbo families outrightly rejecting a Muslim Fulani or Fulani Moslems rejecting a Christian ibibio unless the girl converts.

My brother, some people have innate Bigotry in them, there is how a group of people will be targeted with hateful propaganda and they end up hating a specific demography.

Tribalism is a key type of bigotry and money doesn't heal that so don't say that rich people don't do tribalism. That's false. Bigotry doesn't see money. 18th century White racists will still partake in lynching a black man no matter his level of wealth because to them, the black people were closer to animals.

Eunoiaa:
For him to raise funds to leave Nigeria in the first place is telling enough that he didn't want to remain here. Relocating abroad was probably a means to a better life for him, and why should he let a partner's infidelity get in the way of that?

He cannot cheat back, he cannot lock up and break up with her in his heart? Practically live as a stranger with her?

From the story, he obviously still can continue to remain there IF he has a sponsor, so what stopped him from secretly working on that and then confront her when he's got that sorted out? Switch from being a dependent visa holder to a skilled worker visa or something?

I am saying this bearing in mind the fact that "japa" was a preferred choice for HIM and we didn't know his condition while he was here. Of course, Nigeria is not going to kill him.

But how do you know you're in that vulnerable, tentative state and yet he probably went to confront her harshly, fuelled by his ego?

I am not justifying his position or what the wife did; and I can't imagine how devastating finding out about that would have been to him, but it is what it is.

It wasn't commonsensical for him to place his emotions over logic in that case. It will only be a erroneous sense of ownership that'll make you describe the bolded the way you did. grin

You don't have control over what anyone chooses to do with their genitals. Another man is not "fuçking" your wife, your wife is choosing to fuçk outside and the most you can do is not to respect her again. Confronting her wouldn't make her stop or change or respect you. Now he's literally looking for a sponsor helter-skelter, when he could have been doing the same thing calmly and with time on his side. Like he doesn't even have kiss up to her ass or become a stupid, fool for her.

So you go gather millions travel, and go through stress of settling down and shit, only for you to end up losing it all because of one unfaithful partner? Don't look at it from the angle of YOU not valuing relocation. It's about his life and goals here. That's the tact and wisdom.

See you talking like deportation is not a big deal. What if he never make it again, and this is his only shot? So watin he gain? Just because he wan prove headship and say e get value? I mean, he literally can do that WITHOUT it resulting in his deportation, no? I mean, he could have gotten a divorce from the woman without it as well. How did he confront her that she not only filed for divorce, but wanted him deported? She's wicked for that, but he should have bid his time and not go prodding the devil with a hot rod in the eye when he's dangling over a "lake of fire."
The thing is, I'm not a fan of blaming the victim when harm or pain has been inflicted.
When something bad happens, it's doesn't usually sit well with me to immediately begin to punch holes in the actions of victim prior to the incident because bad things do happen to people no matter what. An example is those who when they hear a woman has been raped start asking, "what was she doing there", "why was she dressing like that" and so on.
My first instinct is to sympathize with the victim and hope the person recovers from the situation very well.

In this case, the man is the victim, the woman has acted very very badly. She has breached the trust and love between both of them and worse so has carried out an action inimical to her husbands well being and for that she's the evil one. She deserves all the blame. She's a witch. But as I said earlier, the moral lesson from this, is for us to know our partners, the kind of people they are and what they're capable of before getting married to them and this is an advice for both genders. Marriage is no small joke. Know who you're getting in bed with.

DeadPresidents:
Na the man fuckup allow her bring am as the dependent. When you’re the dependent, you need to understand your role.
You are correct. This is not a gender-based issue at all. And I'm sure that if we probe further we might even find that men do this to their female dependants far more than the counterpart. But that's not the issue.

This is a human problem, a people problem. The woman who has done this is clearly a very wicked person or maybe more aptly put, an uncaring person.

I don't know why we're hasty to make this a gender based issue. Men cheat, women cheat (although we know which gender see cheating as a natural right). But clearly the issue here is a breach of trust by the lady and then not considering the status of her spouse before moving ahead with divorce.

I feel very sorry for the man and I hope he succeeds in overcoming this. The moral lesson in this is to be sure we know who our partners are. Know their kind of character.
For example, Imagine an Igbo woman marrying a yoruba man who has haboured deep animosity towards people from her tribe and has spent more than a decade calling people of her tribe flesh eaters, beasts and cannibals. How on earth do you picture such a union surviving if they're in this kind of situation?

The truth is the other races have more intelligent people than Africa.

And one solution to the problems of Africa is for us to have more intelligent people. Of all the continents in the world, Africa has the lowest value for collective intelligence in modern times.
That's why it's the most backward continent
and the slaves of this world.
Whenever I read these nonsenses from you, I don't know whether to say you have a superiority complex or an inferiority complex.
And it is very ironical that the same person who feigns being provoked by the notion that "African cultures are backwards" is the same fella who consistently denigrates the entire black race. Like where exactly do you stand.

Over and over and over again, you keep saying that the vast majority of blacks are less intelligent than the other races. Do you truly believe that rubbish. And your number one culprit for this is the Abrahamic religions but somehow you convinently leave out the fact that our traditional religions are no different to those.
Please stop this African inferiority complex.
Africa suffers from the century long effects of colonization. One of which is illiteracy and under-education but we're steadily bridging that gap. You make it sound like we're just intellectually incapable of ever doing so. Please drop this narrative.

Nope I don't agree with you because in 2015 though young, I was already aware of the buhari of 1985 because I actually researched.
So I supported PDP through and through. Not because Jonathan was good but because buhari was monumentally worse.

I will also admit this that my family were pro PDP too and so that ensured I got proper hater information on buhari.

Also there's no way you can call apc an underdog in 2015.
No way in hell.
They very clearly were.
The split within PDP was a once in a life time opportunity for APC. If they had failed, PDP would have simply consolidated themselves after the election and become much stronger and there would be nothing like an opposition.
ACN and CPCs merger too would have fallen apart seeing the kind of sway PDP had in the north east, the north central and parts of north east.

Need I remind you that the PDP had more than 70 senators out of 100? More than 27 governors out of 36 spread throughout every single region?
ACN was regional party at best.
No way they would have survived a post 2015 loss.
I do believe that APC winning 2015 was to the benefit of Nigeria's democracy, just really painful that they fumbled hugely in terms of delivering on governance. But they did look promising. Fashola was looking very prominent, oshimole had distinguished himself as someone who cared about governance seeing the union background he came from. Amaechi also looked promising.

Walahi these people let us down heavily.

Just look at this picture you have posted and tell me how "these achievements" have benefited YOU as an individual?

I'm seeing there "influenced president Buhari's victory at the polls". I'm also seeing, "anchored APC's victory at the polls". Is this really supposed to be a flex??
I am asking you as a fellow Nigerian like me, somebody telling you that he brought this present government upon you, is it really a thing of pride??

I know how ashamed and apologetic I continue to be to everyone around me for trying to convince them to vote APC years ago.

I am deeply ashamed of my earlier affinity to APC because I can SEE and FEEL the failure of this bad government. Am I not supposed to be sorrowful for supporting this failure of a government?

Will I not be a mad person to be bragging about ushering in a proven failure upon us all.

Oasis07, let me ask you one honest question deviod of bants, are you paid to support this party?
Are the vast majority of your own relatives in support of this man? Your babe, your parents, your uncle's and aunty's, are they proud of you supporting this party? ON one hand you are a hypocrite with how you've attacked people because of their choice in voting buhari especially twice.

But on the other hand you are correct in your assessment that nobody has been able to produce 10 screenshots in the 8yrs of buhari's rule of you defending him.
Now there's alot of screenshots of you insulting the same buhari and APC in general.

But then again knowing you abit, I'm very sure you did alot of your supporting act for buhari offline. Sadly I don't think anyone can prove this with any evidence then.

I do subscribe to change being constant and people are allowed to change but just because you committed a crime and you stopped being a criminal doesn't give you the leg to accuse current criminals who didn't stop when you did. They have every right to point out that not too long ago, you were also a criminal.

Sadly that's part of the consequences of doing something as stupid as supporting buhari twice. That shit is never leaving you.
But I respect the stubbornness to still hold former associates to account even when they show you were once an associate of "sai Baba" yourself 😁
Fair enough. cheesy

But as I always say, we must take note of the nuances involved in an election choice or decision.
Do you agree with me when I say that 2015, the best choice to make was indeed voting APC especially considering what it meant for our democracy and even though they thoroughly messed up governance?

Going back to 2015, PDP a political giant and biggest political party in the entire Africa vs APC and underdog with a promise of doing things differently and breaking up the dominance of PDP, what will you choose?

Please it's highly important not to lose sight of the aim and basis of this entire argument.

It's a fact that I voted for the APC before, the bone of contention is to what degree I actually supported them that will make me vote for them that warrants my present condemnation of the party now.

To which I am stressing the point that in as much as I did vote for them (voting against the opponent 2019 etc), I wasn't necessarily a very big fan of them but I saw the implications of a victory of them. I was moved towards support of the underdog as usual.

No single policy defense, no cover up for their failures and fvck ups, instead you have constant rebuke of the party and those still supporting the party.

shocked sad cry
How on earth is my point not getting across to you.

Without the APC, there will be no obidients. No labor party. It will be a pipe dream.

Yes, APC totally failed in governance, but by having 2 strong national political parties, Nigeria's democracy evolved faster and became much stronger. Our electoral laws and guidelines are far more better now because both parties wished to checkmate each other, (even though these guidelines were not followed this time).

Let me remind you that PDP held 27 out of 36 governorships. More than 70 senators and more than a third of representatives in the house. PDP had absolute dominance. It wasn't just about the major contestants.

If APC had lost, we would have lost the chance to have a healthy democracy because their union will have fallen apart.
Today, the PDP is on its way to extinction, the APC itself is also dying or dead, at least in the eyes of the average masses due to their failure .and a new people led oriented movement has grown and is growing in leaps and bounds.

That is democracy in action. Nigeria is progressing democratically, slowly but surely. There are lots of state now with multiple strong opposition which means our leaders still have to care about appearances and projections.
I need you to try and understand this point.

Because I've countlessly listed the factors behind voting APC and the implications of their loss.
Nigeria would have been a one party state without the APC and now we have a relatively fairly good democracy at least when compared to all the ones surrounding us that was listed here yesterday.

Obidients made a huge change in our political atmosphere, that that was possible was because we now had a multi-party democracy thanks to 2015's election.
