BlueRayDick:Funny enough, the opposite was the case for nigeria in this past election. |
BlueRayDick:Actually you didn't, you cowardly hid under the banner of "it's our written law so all must abide" to hide your seeming bigotry and hatred against these innocent people. You hide under the laws because you support those hateful and dehumanizing laws. That's very shameful for an individual who has shown capacity for deep intellect. You should be strongly ashamed of yourself for this. |
DeadPresidents:I think you've indeed stated facts. It's true that we are progressing albeit very slowly in our values but nonetheless it's frustrating personally knowing and seeing how slow that progress is. And worst of all, knowing that you are personally ahead of the curve so are doomed to be persecuted for holding a position which seems broadly despicable but inevitable in the future. |
BlueRayDick:These set of laws Below were widely popular in Germany at the time. Do you think these laws you see below were fair and justified? What do you think about these codified laws which were indeed acceptable and popular to the masses at the time?
|
The malicious practices act was a set of laws signed by Nazi Germany which gave the government the legal rights to spy on its Citizens and legally purge political opponents for criticisms they seemed "offensive to the German state". This act officially gave Hitler absolute dictatorial powers as he now had legal rights to commit inhumane acts against a large number of people.
|
Examples of how laws can be self defeating. Immoral laws made by unjust men to suppress and terrorise minorities which indeed did "reflect the position" of the masses. Nazi Germany 1933. The Nuremberg laws are passed in Germany's parliament by Nazi Germany. The Nuremberg laws makes it illegal for any jew to have sexual intercourse with any German citizen. Jewish citizenship were revoked in Germany and rights to ownership of property stripped.
|
Man was not made for the law, law was made for the man. Sometimes, laws can be unjust because the people who made the laws were unjust. Laws are not infallible and in such situations where the law is blatantly unjust, the only moral recourse is to fight against it because the law itself has become a self defeating injustice. And if you decide to hide cowardly under the banner of unjust law to oppress people because they are different from you, then you are as evil as the unjust men who made the unjust rule. |
BlueRayDick:I will leave this with you.
|
BlueRayDick:A lot of things are repugnant to a lot of people, still doesn't justify dehumanizing them and outrightly killing them. Once upon a time, our culture also hated twin babies and saw them as evil and slaughtered them in their millions. Millions of innocent babies murdered in cold blood. our culture also hated albinos and killed them outrightly. Our culture saw women as subhuman and just as properties of men. "Our culture" is not the supreme guide you make it to be, it's not infallible. As a matter of fact, hoping for us to continue to do things the way we have been doing it for a thousand years is not the Flex you think it is. Having to fall upon "culture" as a defense to hate on your fellow human beings who only want to be left alone and have no desire to inflict harm is cowardly. And most importantly, these people are not foreigners, they are born and bred here, you cannot make them prisoners of their place of birth, they have no where else but this land to call their home, you can't chase them away simply because they want to live their lives the way they see fit. One without intent of harm. They have right to life just as much as you, the only time that right can ever be taken from them is if they deprive any other of their own rights. Punishing them is oppression because they are different and it is not right, neither is it fair. |
I felt bad while reading this. Nigeria is a sad state of affairs. Unperturbedpota: |
seunny4lif:Even if it was launched from Estonia, NOTHING WILL HAPPEN!! Russia wouldn't dare attack a NATO state. Do you know how many redlines Russia set that has been crossed? From threats of NATO giving Ukraine tanks, to himars, to cluster munitions, to f16, highest they would do is sabberrattle about nukes for the seventeenth thousand times. If Russia cannot defeat an ordinary neighbour that happened to be the poorest country in Europe and shares a land border with them, what on earth will make you think Russia can win against NATO?? |
seankafor:I asked because you generally speak scornfully and disdainfully about women in general, which piques my interest to know if you might have a sister who you grew up with. |
seankafor:By chance, do you have a sister? |
BlueRayDick:Blueray, these laws below are part of our own laws, do you personally agree with these laws and do you wish to preserve the statusquo or do you rather prefer they were changed even if maybe you were in the minority? Section 6 of the criminal code says marital rape is not an offence because rape cannot happen within a marriage. Under section 26 and 26 of the nigerian constitution, a Nigerian woman who marries a foreigner does not grant her foreign partner nigerian citizenship, on the other hand, if a Nigerian man marries a foreign partner, his partner is automatically conferred a Nigerian citizenship. Section 55 of the nigerian labor law bans women from working in the night except the woman is a nurse. Section 353 of the criminal code states that sexual assualt on a woman is categorized as a minor infraction and bears no longer than 2 years in jail regardless of the degree. Then lets talk about negligence of the law or rather, things that are legal to do in nigeria but illegal in other places. Female genital mutilation, a common practice where the female sex organ is deformed as a traditional practice. Marriage arrangements, one where the girl child is given away to a husband by her parents. Underage child bride. Still very legal. There are many other such Nigerian laws that are archaic and belongs in the past. Now with all these i ask you again, do you agree with all the laws of your country? Are there laws you wish to see changed in order for your society to evolve to a better one or are you a strong advocate for the status quo? because your position on this seem to be that the law is supreme and we must be resigned to it even even when obviously wrong, even though historical evidence presents to us where the law has been weaponised against fellow citizens. For example, Your argument rings through with Americans who weaponised the law to suppress the rights and dignity of their fellow citizens. Blacks were legally 3\5th of a human being, interracial marriage was illegal. Interracial sex was illegal with severe punishments. Segregation of races were legal and codified. One could say that these were indeed "a reflection" of the majority of the society but did that make that, right and moral?? Do you think the people who advocated for and passed those laws did the right thing? When you genuinely answer that question, you see how you've basically buried your conscience and taken the cowardly position of hiding under the law even when that law directly stamps against the fundamental human rights of your fellow countrymen. You enjoy their dehumanization because it doesn't affect you and that is morally unconscionable. Its wicked and not right. |
No matter what, let us Nigerians NEVER pray for military rule. We've been there and we've seen. Many people will be shocked to know the ratio of northerners to southerners in the military. The north had completely overtaken the military structure of this country, such that any military leadership is guaranteed to be a quasi-northern rulership just like we've had over the years. |
Who are behind the coupists?? That's the most important question to ask. If it's indeed the people themselves revolting against a family that has held them down for many decades, then this is nice and good and hopefully the military organises a new democratic system for them sometime later. (Something very rare). However, if this is another colonial power like Russia trying to gain a foothold in the country, if the coupists are backed and sponsored by Russia, things are about to get far worse for Gabon, because if they thought France was a terrible backer, wait until they experience the Russian brutality experience. At least France can pretend to care about human rights, legitimacy and whatnot, Russia doesn't give a fvck. Let's just hope and pray that this is a genuine citizen-led revolution against a terrible quasi-monarchical government that has pinned them down for soo long. |
We still dey talk, these people are already budgeting to buy cars in excess of 16 billion naira for the new ministers. A continuation of government extravagance. It's not as if these people are not already heavily loaded or don't have super cars already, but they just seek to loot for looting sake.

Tinubu's Buhari really showed us pepper. This is the man that Tinubu presented to Nigerians, packed his cabinet with his stooges and then remained silent as they sent this great country down the bottom of the pit. The judiciary, nigeria is in your hands. Do the right thing.

[quote author=seankafor post=125439314]Don j, go and bail your brothers(sisters) heart sunk watching this. Will nigeria ever evolve in our lifetime? These young men brought no harm to anyone, they didn't inflict pain or incur damage to a single soul, so why are they being humiliated for expressing themselves the way they see fit?? Conservatism has always aligned with hypocrisy. You react badly to people different from you simply because you don't understand them. Nobody deserves this kind of treatment simply because they want to live their lives freely. And if you support this kind of public humiliation and embarrassment for these people who just seek to live a merry life and nothing else, you are an ignorant fool sorry to say. My heart goes out to these victims of injustice, they suffer the disease of an ignorant and hateful society. It's just soo unfortunate. In advanced society, these people would live a fruitful and happy life without having to deal with this stigma. So so sad. I deeply empathize with them and what they are going through. May they pass through this ordeal successfully. The quote tweets are actually a sort of consolation. It's heartening reading the comments condemning the police for the gross violation of these peoples fundamental human rights. Gives hope of our future. |
OasisX:PDP not being able to suspend Wike despite his blatant anti-party activities and open frolicking with the opposition is a heavy dent on them. It heavily undermines their future plans and dents their brand. They need to grow balls and expel Wike from the PDP. |
OasisX:Accountability is a good thing, don't you agree?? Are you not the least but curious to know the primary and secondary school your boss went to and at least to know who you defend just a bit more personally?? We can't have a "president" who seems to live a fake life. Whose history is entirely unknown. It's a shame to all the citizens of this country. It's a slap to our collective intelligence. You should be hailing the obidients for fighting and demanding absolute transparency rather than this below.
|
Emaprince:Of course acceptability isn't at 100%, but as you can see from all the lamentations of the "woke mob". Their laws and their sentiments is completely geared towards protections of the minority. Any CEO, any public official, any entertainer who comes out and insults gay people and attacks people sexuality is dropped instantly. The person loses all opportunities. I'm sure you would like that to happen to all tribalists in nigeria, wouldn't you like when people are called to account for spreading targeted hate against another group of people?? Do you think hate is good? |
Amoto94:Your post doesn't mean what you wanted it to mean. You said I supported abortionists (which means for women to abort their foetuses) and then wanting to later abort my suspected baby. Doesn't that align with my beliefs? ![]() Is there a contradiction there? |
larride:I'm calling okupe a coward because only a coward and a selfish father would cut off his own son simply because of what "people would say". Any father who would not support his son because the son is gay is a coward. But that post also highlights me saying that I don't know if I would also be a coward in that situation too. Let me use a clearer example. You and your mother are in public and a stronger looking guy confronts you and mother for something, along the line he not only insults her but also lays his finger on her and starts beating her, they are choices you as a person can make there, you can stand and fight him back no matter what, even if you know he's much stronger than you or that maybe he could use a deadly weapon on you or you could run away in order not to be his victim too. Both responses are logical but one is an absolute choice of cowardice. Hope that simplifies it for you. |
raumdeuter:God Bless you man for this. Please does it have an expiry date for collection? My parents had absolutely forgot about most of these. Like I'm talking some bought around 2003 and 04. That's I'm asking if after a while, they've lost the rights to collect dividends and stuff like that? |
BlueRayDick: ![]() Which kain Amala be this? ![]() What does that have to do this? Fine I've edited my post, Oya reply me. |
BlueRayDick:Still waiting on your answer BluRay. |
BlueRayDick:Please share your own response to your question. |
Is Oasis 007? Na him I play against. |
Ibime:Trying to imagine your voice saying this was very funny. ![]() Sometimes I wonder what you actually sound like, whether you're soft spoken or brash sounding, ajebutter-like or kpako-like. ![]() Just vivid imagination. ![]() |
BlueRayDick:I would like you to indeed return the favour. I wish to know your answer to that question. What will you do to your child if he tells you he has found love with someone of the same gender? |
BlueRayDick:It's not a simple and straight question because I had to let you understand exactly what you were asking me, with its nuances. I have told you that it isn't against my personal principle, if I find myself in Europe, I'm sure this wouldn't even be an issue at all, but if I'm in nigeria I recognise how big an issue this would be (because of my ignorant society). Okupe is indeed a good example, his son who is gay now lives abroad and his father is doing his thing here. His father has chosen to distance himself from his son. That is cowardice (but understandable). Would I do the same, I simply don't know. |
