Mr Jaycee,
It is a well known fact that your environment would eventually shape you. Studying in a poly or university with the wrong set of beliefs forced upon you by the educational system, ur country or those around you is enough to make u a failure. Power is in the man but what is the use of power and knowledge when not exercised?

Mystique:
You people are all theives in Naija cool
We are so gifted with corruption that until there is a mind revolution, changing presidents won't move us anywhere. OBJ is corrupt, Atiku is corrupt, you Nigerian reading this, you are corrupt. If you want me to prove it, it's not hard o. Corruption abounds in our head. How do u want to deal with about 80% corrupt policemen? How do u want to deal with corrupt judicial system? Where do u want to start with our lawmakers some of which have never visited their constituencies except in election years? How do u want to deal with the dying youth who spends all his time in a cafe or at home doing yahoo yahoo? Nigeria is a failed state. Breaking up would solve nothing cos our corrupt minds would follow us. Lets return to colonialism. We are incapable of managing ourselves. Shame on a nation of 140million allowing only a privileged few to ruin it. angry

@Radiant
You are not sounding radiant today o wink

I quite agree that many Nigerian men are failures and would have been better off gay as they don't know how to take care of their wives. Poor women, although many of them put themselves in the marriage they find themselves in. They were not driven by common sense but by desires. You cannot say you married a womanizer and you would say u did not know before you were married. You can't say you married a drunkard and you would say you did not know he was a drunkard before you married him. You can't say you married a stingy man and you would say you did not know before you married him. Unless if you were blind to reason and allowed only a short courtship period before marriage or got pregnant before marriage which is mostly the case.

Nigerian leaders stole and are still stealing. So you can all keep crying, living in poverty and doing nothing about it. And you can vote in more thieves in the next general elections so it would confirm my belief that Nigerians are bewitched.

Now we see OBJ is not committed to the rule of law. He does what he wants to do not the rule of law. The Niger-Delta requires a state of emergency but he is probably going to declare one in Ekiti if this report is true. Isn't there a court case already?

The current impasse in Ekiti State may soon come to an end. Sources in Abuja, who spoke to Elendureports.com, on the condition that their names will not be mentioned in this story, informed us that the Federal Government is putting finishing touches to a solution to the Ekiti crisis. To that effect, according to our sources, a state of emergency in Ekiti State will soon be announced by the Federal Government.

Already, a retired military officer, Maj. Gen. Tunji Olurin, is being considered as the Administrator of Ekiti State when the state of emergency is announced. Gen. Olurin, according to our sources, spent most of yesterday at the Aso Rock Villa, Abuja. It is believed that he met with Pres. Olusegun Obasanjo.

The ongoing impasse was caused by the impeachment of Gov. Ayo Fayose, and his deputy, Biodun Olujimi, by the State House of Assembly. The State House of Assembly impeached the Governor and his deputy in a method that has been declared unconstitutional and illegal by the Federal Government. Also, the Chief Justice of Nigeria declared the appointment of an Acting Chief Judge for Ekiti State as unconstitutional, null and void.

The State Assembly had suspended the State Chief Judge because he set up a panel to investigate the Governor, in accordance with the requirements of the 1999 Constitution. However, the State Assembly did not like the composition of the Panel and directed the Chief Judge to empanel a new body. The Chief Judge refused and he was suspended by the Assembly and an Acting Chief Judge was appointed.

Following the illegal and unconstitutional impeachment of the Governor and Deputy Governor by the State House of Assembly, the Speaker, Friday Aderemi became the Acting Governor. However, the impeached Governor and Deputy Governor institute that they have not been impeached and therefore remain the number and two persons in Ekiti State Government.

We are all thieves in Nigeria. We have a mentality that hates accountability. Saying OBJ is a thief is an understatement. Apart from being a thief, he has raped Nigeria. 7 years in power has seen some magnificent turn around like the bank consolidation which was achieved by reducing the purchasing power of Nigerians in terms of the money paid for acquisition of shares. We have not started seeing the promised low interest rates. Oil prices has never been this high. Yet we pay so high for the oil we produce. What is he doing with the oil money? Stashing it in foreign accounts and telling us every month that our foreign reserves is rising while right here we are not seeing any fruits? If OBJ had only stolen and had used some of the money generated by high oil prices to cause infrastructural development, build major roads and highways rather than their renovations that don't last, I would have said he was ok. But he claims to fight corruption, steals money (the ongoing Atiku-OBJ war is a proof as the threats by Atiku to OBJ is already causing panic with claims Atiku is forging cheques) and carries out policies that are changing nothing Nigeria, then it's crazy. The telecommunication revolution we saw during his regime is not Nigeria's money that was used to achieve that. What are they using our money to do? How many refineries have been built? How many universities? He has no idea to transform Nigeria and I'm surprised that the educated individuals that surrounds him are not making impact. I'm tired of attacking OBJ and Atiku cos the difference that can only be made is if Nigerians change their mentality and I don't think we are ready to do that. Like cyprianjr said, a revolution. Thats what we need.

Poems For ReviewBe Yourself by donmayor(op): 9:53pm On Oct 12, 2006
I doubt if this should be termed a poem but I just wrote it in a sad moment today.

He had everything going for him
A nice family, a good wife and obedient children
He had a great job and wonderful friends
Yet he felt empty inside. He felt lonely, unhappy and desolate.
He had never felt alive before
He had lived and helped others to live their lives
Waking up became a chore for him
A new day meant living the life his parents planned for him,
Living the life his friends and family want from him.
His job although high paying was uninteresting
He was frustrated
Looking back, he sees so much love that had gone unexpressed
He sees so many errors that could have been avoided
He sees so much pain that he won’t have experienced
Only if he had been himself
Now at the crossroads, he does not want to hurt those around him
Yet he wants to stop hurting himself
He stumbles on a book per chance telling him that at death mourning occurs only at the moment of been dead
And to him he has seen the perfect solution to his pain
If he dies, he would hurt no more and those he has spent his life pleasing would hurt only for a moment
For the first time in a long time, he smiles at the thought of doing what he wants for himself
He dies by his own hands never realizing death takes away the ability to love
Shock for a while covers the face of they who knew him
But like the book says, the shock and hurt is just for a moment
Life goes on and those he lived to please moved on

Thanx Ishmael. My position on HND is not that of disrespect. I know u guys are useful so also university guys. Poly grads are better in their own way than uni grads and uni grads are better in their own way than poly grads. The way u r representing it is as if poly grads are superior to uni grads.
@Hnd-holder
Yeah it's partially public opinion that has reduced the value of polytechnic education and also illiteracy. Nigerians don't know the role of polytechnics in the society.

I would marry a jobless lady as long as she has a vision for her life and is committed to acheiving it. It's even easier for a guy to marry a jobless lady than for a girl to marry a jobless guy. She would have time to take care of my kids
