It is true that naija girls are greedy and vampires, but it is also true that u shuld show u care by getting a girl gifts. When a girl begins to treat u as if u r her father, asking u for pocket money and recharge card moni and rent moni, then the chance she is a nigerian is 90%. In this age when women are becoming independent, poverty has made many naija girls money hungry.Yahoo boys have worsened it self.Dats y a billboard in Ikeja says,"let's face it, the guy u r dating is a thief, advance fee fraud is his job" They know say na naija woman they make honest guy thief. If u know say the girl dey complain say u no show u care and u wan buy am gift; if na tapping girl, just buy am expensive electronic gadget, if na the other way, i know say u no go even bother ask the question wat gift u go buy.

I once heard a pastor say this and I stick with it 100% that if what you wear is a frame for your face i.e it attracts people to ur face, it's godly and God loves it but if your clothing is a frame for your body, it's sensual and God hates it.

Dutse erupts in religious violence
John Alechenu and Segun Olatunji with Agency report

Muslim youths in Dutse, the Jigawa State capital, on Wednesday attacked Christians and burnt down churches while protesting a Christian woman‘s alleged blasphemous remarks against Prophet Mohammed, police and witnesses said.

Police made several arrests in connection with the violence, during which an estimated 40 shops were also ransacked.

Riot-police fired canisters of tear gas on about 50 protesting youths, who marched on Dutse demanding that the woman -- currently in police custody -- be punished.

Neither police nor witnesses were able to say exactly what the woman is accused of saying.

”There have been some disturbances this morning with religious overtones following some unguarded utterances capable of offending religious sensibilities in the community,” Jigawa state police spokesman Ejike Nwokolo told Agence France Presse.

”The situation is under control, it was something that has religious undertone, I do not have details because we just started investigations,” Nwokolo told our correspondent.

No fewer than six people are believed to have has been injured. But no life has been reported lost.

The North-West zone Secretary of the Christian Association of Nigeria, Rev. Joseph Hayab, said in a telephone interview with newsmen in Kaduna on Wednesday that the spontaneous protests started following an alleged blasphemy of Prophet Mohammed by a female Christian simply identified as Jummai from Kaduna State.

According to Hayab, it was a male Muslim youth who first blasphemed Jesus Christ following a heated argument between them in which the female Christian retaliated, thus sparking off the protest.

The CAN secretary wondered why a mere argument between two people should result in such wanton destruction of places of worship.

“This is a heinous crime in the name of religion. Why should some people always think that they have the monopoly of violence? At this critical moment in the chequered political history of the nation, we need to preach peace and not violence under the guise of defending a religion,” he stated, adding that about 10 churches were burnt down.

ComputersRe: Problems Of Cyber-cafe Computers (And Solutions) by donmayor(m): 4:48pm On Sep 21, 2006
A pentium 2 computer if managed well would do well for a cafe(but it's pathetic if at this time and age, an entrepreneur decides to use pentium 2). Agreed u might have some issues running too many task at once but it would do ok for a cafe. I have been able to establish a cafe for someone on 12 pentium 2, with 96MB ram, computers(which was what he could afford) and 8 pentium 3 computers and it's operates far better than all those cafe's around it with pentium 3's and 4's, and i don't maintain each of these systems for them. It all boils down to how much you know how to configure these systems and prevent unneccesary stuff from running like spyware. Also I do advise cafe owners not to install antivirus like norton on their client machine, it slows it down and uses speed in downloading updates, better to use hdd freezing programs like deepfreeze and shadowuser (some cafe owners are stingy so don't want to buy programs).
Then also you find many cafe owners not getting the bandwidth they paid for or they paid for 64kbps and they are using 20 systems or they sit and watch as yahoo boys who are the only customers cyber cafes have nowadays use email extractors and keep surfing thru bandwidth hogging sites like myspace looking for potential "magas". The average bandwidth a cafe subscribes to does not support social sites like myspace cos of the number of graphics and videos that most of these profiles have, even in the US, I read it sometime ago that a school blocked access to myspace because it was consumed a huge percentage of their bandwidth. If you have a good firewall, although some clients may complain cos they need legitimate visits to those sites, you can actually disable access to sites you consider bandwidth hogging.
There are many ways to reduce many leaks in the average cafe that would make it efficient but the knowledge is not available.

@Sbucareer
24MB for 100system would be so cool but adapting it to the nigerian system, no one would buy 24MB for 100systems. Here 2MB makes u an ISP distributing to 4 or 5 cafes.

Check picture 3, You would see the burning. More violence might come 6 months later. It is not about taking the pope serious or not. I don't care about any pope. It's about muslim ideology and the fact that they don't probably understand english. He made a quote that anyone could make and they are asking for an apology. His statement was made to foster more interreligious cooperation and what happens?
IslamRe: Muslims: Are We Bad? by donmayor(m): 7:51pm On Sep 15, 2006
@Babyosisi
The muslims have started again o. The have already started burning effigies of the pope over a perfectly true statement he just quoted, made in the 14th Century. Let's hope it does turn into another rioting in 6 months time as they did wit the cartoons. The quote which said Prophet Muhammad had brought the world only "evil and inhuman" things is right and I don't know what the noise is about, If the could see it 7 centuries ago, I wonder why technology has not opened the eyes of people to see it now. Islam via Prophet Muhammad has brought only evil and inhuman things. I know if I should say this is Kano, I would become an instant christian martyr undecided

@ (The seemingly ILLITERATE) Donmayor

First, I didnt expect you to spot it, anyway, so thanks for the confirmation,

Also, DID I say a 2-1 is GOLDhuh Whats wrong with youhuh I directly refuted your silly statement that Engineering degrees in Nigeria are USELESS!!! That IS stupid!
And when he undergoes training under white hands here in Nigeria, say, through some periodical training program, WONT that count as work experiencehuh OFcourse!!! Fact is, if u're good to go, nothing can stop ya!!! (except GOD, anyway, )
Since I'm not literate enough to spot it, can u PLEASE spot it for me?
You implied that 2-1 is gold even though u did not directly say it. And if i'm going to go by the way you intelligently reply post, I would say that I never said engineering degrees in Nigeria are useless.Unless there are reforms in Nigeria's educational sector which thank God is happening gradually, engineering degrees would gradually become useless. Many successful nigerian engineers became successful after they left Nigeria to study more.It is even evident among the many wealthy men we have in Nigeria, most have an american or british degree. And dats wat u pointed out that their quality of education is generally higher than ours.

Dat wasn't a complaint, neither was there any grammatical blunder in that line you quoted.

Shut up please. 2-1 in Engr is not gold. I don't know about first class. How much they wan pay u? I don't believe that a Nigerian on the strength of his BSc in a university here and experience in Nigeria would go and supervise an American project. He would probably have had proved himself in an American Institution or would have undergone training under white hands in Nigeria.

Zebudaya I agree o but make i reply small about unilag curriculum. It is similar to what obtains in the West but it is not structured the way it should be and some departments need updates. How can a metallurgical and material engineer spend 5 years and does not have an introduction to nanoscience? Little things like that are being added and it sure counts in the outside world.

Ishmael, all those one wey u yearn now na story. If I had a Bsc in Statistics I might not be able to withstand you cos I'm not gud but give me a gud university graduate and he would teach u things u dont know andf u would teach him things he does not know. I strongly believe that the HND cannot be rated as high as the BSc. and that has nothing to do with the course curriculum. It is true that universities are using outdated curriculum and I know of recent Unilag has been working to update the courses. It still does not mean you HND guys are better. I discuss with polytechnics undergraduates and I know they cannot stand the knowledge displayed by some Unilag undergraduates but sure they are better than some unilag undergraduates not all.

Nice story, I don't think it would sell, We've watched it in a lot of home videos in Nigeria.
Analyzing ur story, if it is true, it is clear that you don't know what you are doing or u r under bewitchment shocked, Ur so called pastor is married and took you to swim and u go to his house and he has kissed u and u r saying u love ur congregation because thats where u think u have family or sumthing like dat? You claim he brought u to Christ? You are not in Christ if you see nothing wrong in engagin in dis kind thing. I'm judging o, you people can shout all u want. No be soft talk go correct this kind madness. Someone should drag u by the ears and talk to u. I don't think you are a small girl so I believe you should know it's wrong although that depends on what your "pastor" has taught you.
It is so sad that many enjoy making idols out of men of God and whatever these men of God tell them is law. Just hope(not pray) say the pastor wife no dey pray fall down and die prayers.

But comin from a wealthy family can make u gamble with education. I did not imply his wealth family made him a genius or not. If you want me to start mentioning names of great people who had little or no schooling and acheived what many of us have not acheived who went to school I would fill this page. Thomas Edison was called retarded but he is one of the world's greatest inventors. Yet my point remains that mentioning Bill Gates in dis topic does not achieve any aim to me, he might as well as completed his last year in schul and still become the world's richest man. 3 years studying computer science at Harvard was an advantage too. Read the biography of Bill Gates and u would know that his parents wealth played an important role is making him what he is. Don't tell an average Nigerian who does not touch a computer until he is 15 to drop out of schul. Don't tell an average Nigerian who is intelligent to drop out and do something, they would just dupe him. Yeah be determined, yeah take risk but not the Bill Gates kind. It worked for him, it definitely won't work for you grin

Thank you dayokanu, you just hit the nail on the head. I don't know why we just don't want to accept whats on ground in Nigeria now. Definitely, there are exceptions to the treatment meted out to HND graduates but majority are discriminated against and unless things change it's a mistake doing polyjamb or goin to polytechnics

Kidnapped Sudan editor beheaded

The beheaded body of a Sudanese newspaper editor has been found on the outskirts of the capital, Khartoum.

Mohammed Taha ran the al-Wifaq paper and was taken from his home on Tuesday night by an unknown group of armed men.

Last year, he was put on trial for blasphemy after his pro-government paper reprinted an article questioning the parentage of the prophet Muhammad.

The charges were later dropped but if convicted of blasphemy under Sharia law, he could have been put to death.

The BBC's Jonah Fisher in Khartoum says no-one has claimed responsibility but suspicion will immediately turn to Sudan's hardline Islamic groups.

In May last year, thousands of people demonstrated outside a courtroom in central Khartoum calling for Mr Taha to be put to death.

After several emotionally charged days the case was adjourned and later quietly dropped.

Our correspondent says that as an ally of Khartoum's Islamist government, Mr Taha's murder will raise fears that extremist groups are once again active in Sudan.

Sudan provided a home for al-Qaeda leader Osama bin Laden in the 1990s and the country is still on the United States' list of states sponsoring terrorism.

Khartoum has been governed by strict Islamic Sharia law since 1983 - but our correspondent says that in recent years courts have shown a degree of flexibility in their interpretations of Islamic law. Source:http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/africa/5321368.stm

PoliticsRe: How Ibb Wasted $12bn Oil Windfall – Okigbo Report by donmayor(m): 2:52pm On Sep 06, 2006
Finally the report is out. Babangida is still in his mansion scheming. Nigeria would not have been where it is today if not for d bastard. Yet he walks freely declaring his ambition to rule the land. He is really smart. He wants to come back and rule the country in a period where US is engaged in a war involving oil producing nations, a period of instability in the middle east so when oil prices rise to $100 he would have a windfall in his pockets like the first windfall in 1990. IBB did not waste the $12bn windfall as the topic says, he invested it in himself. The money is still around, Part of what he is using in his campaign.
