lordnicklaus:Even with that, alot of chaos would still happen because the atmosphere would still be spinning at a rate of 27mph...thats enough to send everything on earth flying the opposite direction, i am certain all larger forms of life wud die instantly... |
Scholar8200:This your multiple posts is becoming tiresome, ask all ur questions in one post... What happened to "In the beginning, God created the heavens and the earth"? And from ur other post, if i ddnt know God, why did i fight so hard to not believe what i was finding out? You guys just think you have a monopoly on belief, you think atheists were born atheists and ddnt knw God or love him at all...well if you think so, i cnt argue wit that, i wud only say you are closed minded... |
Scholar8200:The bible is for life not for knowledge.... Now this is cherry-picking. It further underscores the truth in that which you are arguing against. Were you hoping to find God while you focused more on the creature rather than the Creator? So a book that claims total and absolute truth was shown even to a small detail to hold some false claims! Does that book still holds to absolute truth status?...please be honest with your arguments |

I would ask for the last time and i wud dumb it down...the bible claims that the sun stood still, we know now that thats obviously not what happened, so if this people experienced a longer day, there is only one explanation, the earth stopped rotating. Now lets ignore to chaos that wud have on all life on earth and assume everything was fine, if the earth stopped, then they would be some inhabitants that were at the other side of the earth(nighttime) who would have experienced a longer night than usual, why wasnt there any record of this event? Your second paragraph is a circular reasoning, what if the book of Corinthians werent included in that meeting? And was deemed not the word of God, would you be quoting it right now? |
Scholar8200:See how you guys cherry-pick, Now the bible is for Life not for Knowledge, but the bible makes lots of claims about the Natural world that can be tested and as been tested and proven to be wrong...why should i approach a book which foundation was on fiction in the first place? What had been the basis of this faith initially? If it was long and tedious then it seems you missed something and followed the wrong road!Your logic: Anybody who stops being a christian wasnt a christian in the first place... Hard to argue with that kinda logic... |
Scholar8200:https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ussher_chronology |
4everGod:I would ask again, why didnt we have some tribe in the other part of the world record an unusual day where a night was longer than usual?, No records of that anywhere on the planet... I do not think you researched the history of the bible because if you did truly then you would realise it is 98% accurate in terms of events and occurrences.First of all, i ddnt research the events, i researched its inception, which was around 400AD, and why it was the 66books we ended up with, it turns out that God did not come down to choose these 66books, (oh wow, what a shocker), some clergymen sat down and debated on the books to be added into the final draft, and was revised many times...hmmmm. Praying to God to reveal Himself to you for what purpose? Jesus said blessed are they whom though have not seen yet believe....you do not expect to have God reveal Himself to you when you were already coming to Him with a heart of unbelief.Oh really, so i discover some loopholes in God's word, find out more about the real world and realize it doesnt correspond with what the bible says, i am freaking confuse, i dont want to lose my faith, then i remember what my pastor had always told me, "Prayer is the Key", I kneel down and ask God to reveal himself to me, and somehow i am the bad guy?...interesting Your faith was already lost due to doubt so all you did was just to confirm your doubt so like I said you were already in doubt of God before seeking Him so that position was a faulty one.Who are you to tell me whether my faith was lost or not?, where you the one having the faith?... |
KingEbukasBlog:I never said Evolution was what made me lose my faith, infact i was still a fervent christian after i accepted evolution as a fact, i believed God used it to create life on earth...I lost my faith for totally different reasons, Evolution was just the start of my intellectual quest for knowledge about the Natural world which really opened my eyes. |
Scholar8200:So being spiritual would change the fact that the bible records the age of the earth as 6000years but its actual age is 4.6billion? i ddnt know that! ![]() |
4everGod:Reading the bible was the first step, many things did not add up, like how would the sun stand still if it is always standing still in respect to the earth?, or why some other tribe did not record an unusual day where the sun did not come out?... I dug into history and researched about the origins of the bible and my findings werent too pleasant... Then i prayed for God to reveal himself, but as usual, he was silent... The process was long and tedious but cut long story short, i lost my faith... |
promise10:Firstly, your premise is wrong, many atheist dont believe in God because there is no proof, I acknowledge that Noone can prove God, its an impossible feat, Atheists dont believe in God because there is no evidence for his existence. You must differentiate the two, Proof and Evidence are not the same thing when it comes to God's existence. As for conscience, there is evidence that we have conscience, so it makes much sense it acknowledge its existence than the existence of any god. |
Scholar8200:Yes, i can It started with reading and understanding Evolution years back, i wasnt an atheist immediately, but that was the moment the intellectual quest started that made me ultimately look for God and could not find him. |
Debating a theist is like using a fork to fill-up a basket with water...fruitless and time-consuming... I propose Atheists debate themselves on far more reasonable topics, so we learn from each other rather than doing tug-of-war with a bunch of "i know it all" |
4everGod:Its either you dont read my posts or you are just being intellectually dishonest. I am not a fan of spinozism, i am a fan of michio kaku and this intellingent man as you called him earlier is wise enough to study the universe and not making silly assumptions about it and in by so doing has come to the possibility of the universe popping out of nothing from a larger 11 dimensional hyperspace... And your anchor is that he mentioned the spinoza type of god? Smh |
4everGod:What are you saying?... Didnt you watch the first video in which he said that the universe was for free and could have just popped out of nothing? werent you the one insulting him saying he ddnt show you the calculation that proves that the universe has zero energy, zero charge and zero spin? why are you desperate to claim he believes in something in which he clearly doesnt believe in?. i am a fan of michio kaku and i follow his work, i know what he has and has not said and he doesnt believe there is any intelligence behind the universe...jeez |
4everGod:I hope you watched that last video when he clearly differentiated between a personal God and a god of order and beauty... |
4everGod:Dude, i see you spend more time insulting than actually talking reasonably...no matters, i am tired, enough with the quotes... Thanks |
4everGod:Do you see your dishonesty, when he said the universe can come out of nothing, you called the video silly, then he said reading the mind of God and you jump to claim him... Smh... Well sorry to disappoint you, he doesnt believe in the kind of god u believe in, what he means by god is the universe, the spinoza's type of God, the type Einstein believed in... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SBB2qHgZvLY |
4everGod:Science is always the approximation and not evrly certain, anybody who claims to be certain is not a scientist, and moreover the socalled man is Dr. Michio kaku, one of the worlds most intelligent theoretical physicists explaining what we know about the universe. And you that dont know jack is calling it silly...someone gives a naturalistic and more reasonable explanation on how the universe can come from nothing and u say its silly, but whats your alternative? God did it but god came from nothing... Smh, Dude, basks in your ignorance...chaow |

IRIEBOY:Then myb she is just not into sex, some people naturally have low libidos, so dont blame her or yourself, just accept her for who she is and be respectful of her wishes |
Learn to use your fingers bro...write a letter with it on the upper part of the vagin_a where the gspot is, and take your time until you start feeling moist on the fingers, that should awaken the libido... |
4everGod:You keep doin my work for me, your post is talking about our existence, and since from the bolded, the universe is all we know and see, we ask where it comes from. Now you assuming that it cant be existing forever or it cannot come from nothing but you can say something outside it in which you dont know or havent seen created it!. how can you know that if you havent left the universe? how do you know that there are other realms outside this one if this one is the only one you know? NB: i never said something created god, i said if u assume that nothing created god, then u ar automatically saying that things can be created by nothing, meaning the universe also can be created by nothing. And if u ar saying god has always existed, then you are automatically saying that things call always be in existence, meaning the universe (which we can see and know of) can also always be in existence. |
You shoot yourself in the foot... First you say that anything that exists was caused by somethingelse, then you conclude that nothing brought the creator into existence!...really? So if nothing brought him to existence, then why is it so hard to assume that nothing brought the universe into existence? Or if you say he has always existed, then why is it hard to assume that the universe has always existed? |
shadeyinka:Comparing the soul to a software is almost accurate... Yes, the software is the immaterial part of the computer and can be regarded as the heart or soul of the machine, but because its immaterial doesnt mean its indestructible. Take a look at the human brain, it is made up of 87 billion neurons with trillions and trillions of connections, it is the most complex object that we know of in the entire universe right now. How does it work?, it uses Neurotransmitters to send signals from one neuron to the other, how it creates a sense of self?, we dont know, not because its unknowable, but because its very complex. Ultimately the brain is a computer, a very complex computer that is processing information in such a complex way that creates awareness. Back to the software, software instructions are just electrical pulses of ones and zeroes stored in the RAM and once the RAM is destroyed, so is the socalled "immaterial" software, it doesnt survive the death of the computer and for that exact reason did they create a mechanism for users to copy out the contents of the memory to an external device in the event the degradation of the RAM occurs, the contents wont be lost. Now, the moment you show me how that process can be replicated with the human brain and all of its electrical activities, then i would agree that yes, the soul does indeed survive the death of the brain, until then, the soul is truly like a software, immaterial in such that it is the activity of the brain and not the brain itself, and if the hardware in which it is running on gets degarded, it stops existing... |
herbie27:@bolded, if a guy comes up to you and tells you what he wants straight up, you would view him as being to straight forward and just wants to have sex, if he comes as a friend, nothing would make u develop feelings for him, how then should a guy who likes you approach you? |
Toyolad:It is likely that the ring contained some kind of venom that causes harm on contact with blood or something of that nature. I might be wrong...but one thing we take away for the story is that he needed the ring to do harm, obviously the cause of the harm had everything to do with the ring. So if we can examine the ring closely, we probably would find out the main cause of the harm. Just because something you dont understand happens before your eyes doesnt mean its supernatural, the fact that its happening already means its natural, all that remains is the explanation, and thats what science always aims to do, find the explanation for a given event and not assume it was a supernatural fiasco... |
100% Nigerian atheist here, just checking in |
johnydon22:Its a shame, she would have loved the great johnydon22 to stand behind her .Even as a fully functional human you still have tails only seating on it, My argument is based on the feotus being a functional system of cells, an off spring of humans and at that i reserve a right for them to live.I reserve a right for them to live as well, but reality is brutal, majority of human offsprings dont get the chance to live, its just Nature, and even though that kind of abortion was intentional, it was based on the circumstance surrounding it. I think we have a duty to make sure living conditions are worthwhile and security is paramount, so that everyone who has a chance to live would live life to its fullest and not meet what we can call "the misery of nature". She still has a future even the baby you may say different from the original plan but we all know the eventuality of achieving a desired goal is still under the confines of chance. In a climate like ours, we know that teenage mothers tend to have slimmer chance of making it in life, they become ostracized from their family, friends and society, Life becomes Five times as hard. The chances of achieving that desired goal falls dramatically This is my philosophy, this is my belief - thus future is uncertain, that you'd live tomorrow is still even under heavy chance, so i believe in living in the moment which is directly why i ask for patience and perserverence on the part of such 'ill fated unready mothers".I agree 100% with this... Nature kills us everyday, why then do we complain when a human kills another - because this time a mind is involved, a decision was taken.I agree with your points, but i feel they are not well representatives of the situation, an abortion is a personal choice by the mother or it should be, it really cant be compared with a deliberate act of murder. I do believe she has every right to and by all means do - my sentiments are from the direct tilt of my emotional moral principles. And I respect that, i personally dont know what i would do if i was in that situation(since i am a male,i probably never will), but i would stand-up for anyone in a predicament like that irrespective of the choice she makes. Its her body, and her life. |
shadeyinka:Trust me, I do believe in the concept of "right to life", and please dont get my arguments wrong, i find it morally wrong to carry out an abortion because of carelessness, i am arguing based on specific delicate situations that cant be regarded as white and black. I also dont believe in a "Universal rule" for the same reason i dont think every situation is the same. I believe different situations should be handled according to the specifics and the events surrounding them. So, who is alive?Great question, i could ask you the same, because i am sure you know that sperms cells and egg cells are also alive or regarded to be alive. Virtually all sperm cells and egg cells are wasted(many times purposefully). Two-thirds of all human conceptions are naturally aborted by nature. Is being alive synonymous to being able to do what adults do? Even though a day old child cannot speak, run, fight...etc. He is regarded as a human being with rights.I did acknowledge that there is no universal agreement on when being human starts, its obvious a new born baby is a human being and i dont claim otherwise. When does a foetus develop pain receptors? If a foetus doesn't have a developed mouth to scream and muscles to squirm would that be enough evidence to conclude that it is not living?I hope you read my piece on Personhood because i did state clearly that it is hard to pin-point when a foetus becomes a human, so its hard to base an argument on that alone. A person is to be the next driving factor, obviously the man in a coma is far more of a person than a foetus i hope you would agree!. Why is murder evil and immoral? Because it Denys forcefully the potential of an individual. To this end, ABORTION is murder. If you killed a dolphin or a chimpanzee just for fun, would the state and the general public really view that as murder? Now, dont get me wrong, i dont mean to demean the importance of a human foetus, i am just trying to prove my point in using Personhood as a criteria and not just a life. Like i said earlier and would say again, i dont condone all abortions, i believe its morally wrong for anyone to have an abortion because of carelessness,so please,to everyone, practice safe sex. My arguments are on situations in which one did not fully control like a rape victim who is still probably in school or something of that sort. In a climate like ours, we know that teenage mothers tend to have slimmer chance of making it in life, they become ostracized from their family, friends and society, Life becomes Five times as hard. Its hard to not understand their point of view for terminating it, afterall this victim is far more of a person than the unwanted foetus. |
peacesamuel94:Do you know what cannot be proven by logic also? - A pink unicorn - Big foot - Spaghetti monster - The chinese teapot - Santa clause - The tooth fairy - The fairy Godmother But for the fact that God's existence cannot be logically proven does not mean that that he does not exist, I believe it is shallow mindedness to assert that God does not exist simply because you can't prove it logicallyYea i totally agree... Santa clause is obviously real from that logic, wow, thats a relief Man thinks in a box called logic. And God operates in a manner higher than that box which when man cannot understand he terms it foolishness (1st Corinthians 1vs 25),When someone tries to understand Calculus using his knowledge in primary school mathematics, such a person's effort will surely end in futility. thats exactly what happens when you read the Bible using canal knowledge. When you are a musician and trying to understand Rocket science, thats not foolishness, thats just knowledge above you. When you say the fairy godmother exists because we should not be logical, then thats foolishness... I will summarize by saying that God is a spirit and if you must worship you do it in spirit and in truth, The Bible is not logical, even the first sentence of the Bible makes understand that fact. But someone rightly said this and I believe him "FAITH DOES NOT MAKE SENSE IT MAKES MIRACLES. STAY BLESSED!How convenient, He wants to have a close relationship with us but makes himself extremely unavailiable. Nice job, God.... |
Jupiter is the name of a Roman god, which i am very sure everyone including you believes is non-existent, the largest planet in our solar system is named after him. I dont see anybody turning an eye, why should they because of B.C or A.D |
