Thnx Pearldrops, It's God's grace. |
nferyn:Yeah... There's something behind it. It's called "The Annointing". This is the Supernatural Power of God that comes upon a man and enables him to perform supernatural acts. It is the power of the Holy Spirit. |
Thanx dear. |
To be born-again is the first step. You then recieve the Holy Spirit who will help you lead a Godly life. He is the one that strengthens us to live for God even in this crooked and perverse generation. It is possible for one to be born again and yet not godly...this is a babe in christ. |
ha ha ha ha..... in Nigeria? ...that governmaent will not last! |
Gospelman, thanx for quoting that portion of scriture because i am aware that many of those who say, "it is in the bible that women should not wear trousers" do not know where it is in the first place. What did Jesus put on? What did Mary put on? Did they not all wear gowns? Does that not tell you that throughout history, there has been similarity between men and woman 's clothing. Who said trousers were not for women in the first place? Is it the african man whose traditional clothing is wrapper just like the women who also wear wrappers? In scotland, the men wear skirts traditionally. If i were to be a preacher in scotland, will it be right for me to go and ask the men to remove their skirts and put on trousers for Jesus sake? They have quoted that scripture out of context and now they preach it as though they wrote the bible. They preach against wearing trousers but plant egusi and yam at their backyards. They wear, silk on cotton. Who are they decieving. The bible says if you are justified by the law you are a debtor because you are expected to keep the whole law. However, that scripture was actually saying that the men should not wear what belongs to the woman and vise versa. Meaning, if it is your wife or dauthter's clothing, don't put it on. If God meant style of clothing, he would have provided tailors for them. ...And you will notice that those who major on these issues do so because that is all they've got...religion! They have neglected that personal and powerful fellowship with the Holy spirit of grace and power. They do not know what it is to live in the Word. Mark 7:13 Making the word of God of none effect through your tradition... Someone asked what kind of christain you were. I think i know what kind you are...the 'Jesus kind'. |
I do not have one either |
layi, I really admire you for the strong arguments you have put up. I heard a story about a talkshow where a christian and a non-christian were arguing about the reality of Jesus and the gospel on televison. The non-christian said all sorts of blasphemies. At a point the christain got fed up and he said, "In the name of jesus, i command you to come out of him" Immediately, the man who was busy speaking blasphemies began to manifest, shaking all about the place right before the cameras. That is what we will be seeing in these last days...not much of talking without action. |
Rhoda, You also fast from food a nd drink as that also tends to take our attention form God. Fasting dosnt affectm God...it affects us. We fast so as to be spritually alert to hear God clearly. When this happens, there is an unusall release of His grace and power. Fasting is also an art of worship and sacrifice to GOD. |
Such who do not believe the bible are blind and need to be interceeded for. Thank you. |
Please enjoy this bible passage... I had a good laugh reading it: John 9 1And as Jesus passed by, he saw a man which was blind from his birth. 2And his disciples asked him, saying, Master, who did sin, this man, or his parents, that he was born blind? 3Jesus answered, Neither hath this man sinned, nor his parents: but that the works of God should be made manifest in him. 4I must work the works of him that sent me, while it is day: the night cometh, when no man can work. 5As long as I am in the world, I am the light of the world. 6When he had thus spoken, he spat on the ground, and made clay of the spittle, and he anointed the eyes of the blind man with the clay, 7And said unto him, Go, wash in the pool of Siloam, (which is by interpretation, Sent.) He went his way therefore, and washed, and came seeing. 8The neighbours therefore, and they which before had seen him that he was blind, said, Is not this he that sat and begged? 9Some said, This is he: others said, He is like him: but he said, I am he. 10Therefore said they unto him, How were thine eyes opened? 11He answered and said, A man that is called Jesus made clay, and anointed mine eyes, and said unto me, Go to the pool of Siloam, and wash: and I went and washed, and I received sight. 12Then said they unto him, Where is he? He said, I know not. 13They brought to the Pharisees him that aforetime was blind. 14And it was the sabbath day when Jesus made the clay, and opened his eyes. 15Then again the Pharisees also asked him how he had received his sight. He said unto them, He put clay upon mine eyes, and I washed, and do see. 16Therefore said some of the Pharisees, This man is not of God, because he keepeth not the sabbath day. Others said, How can a man that is a sinner do such miracles? And there was a division among them. 17They say unto the blind man again, What sayest thou of him, that he hath opened thine eyes? He said, He is a prophet. 18But the Jews did not believe concerning him, that he had been blind, and received his sight, until they called the parents of him that had received his sight. 19And they asked them, saying, Is this your son, who ye say was born blind? how then doth he now see? 20His parents answered them and said, We know that this is our son, and that he was born blind: 21But by what means he now seeth, we know not; or who hath opened his eyes, we know not: he is of age; ask him: he shall speak for himself. 22These words spake his parents, because they feared the Jews: for the Jews had agreed already, that if any man did confess that he was Christ, he should be put out of the synagogue. 23Therefore said his parents, He is of age; ask him. 24Then again called they the man that was blind, and said unto him, Give God the praise: we know that this man is a sinner. 25He answered and said, Whether he be a sinner or no, I know not: one thing I know, that, whereas I was blind, now I see. 26Then said they to him again, What did he to thee? how opened he thine eyes? 27He answered them, I have told you already, and ye did not hear: wherefore would ye hear it again? will ye also be his disciples? 28Then they reviled him, and said, Thou art his disciple; but we are Moses' disciples. 29We know that God spake unto Moses: as for this fellow, we know not from whence he is. 30The man answered and said unto them, Why herein is a marvellous thing, that ye know not from whence he is, and yet he hath opened mine eyes. 31Now we know that God heareth not sinners: but if any man be a worshipper of God, and doeth his will, him he heareth. 32Since the world began was it not heard that any man opened the eyes of one that was born blind. 33If this man were not of God, he could do nothing. 34They answered and said unto him, Thou wast altogether born in sins, and dost thou teach us? And they cast him out. 35Jesus heard that they had cast him out; and when he had found him, he said unto him, Dost thou believe on the Son of God? 36He answered and said, Who is he, Lord, that I might believe on him? 37And Jesus said unto him, Thou hast both seen him, and it is he that talketh with thee. 38And he said, Lord, I believe. And he worshipped him. 39And Jesus said, For judgment I am come into this world, that they which see not might see; and that they which see might be made blind. 40And some of the Pharisees which were with him heard these words, and said unto him, Are we blind also? 41Jesus said unto them, If ye were blind, ye should have no sin: but now ye say, We see; therefore your sin remaineth. |
You do not look as though you are searching for truth...or even the facts. Even Nferyn, the most popular atheist on nairaland is willing to find out things for hinmself. He has promised to attend a healing service with pastor Chris soon. What i see with you is that you are unwilling to let go of the pre-conceptions which you already have in your mind. You have not told me of any particular case of fraud that you know and you havent even shown any willingness to find out things for yourself. As it is now, there is no other way to prove it to you other than to have you see a miracle happen live before your eyes. Now i think you can appreciate the stand of NBC in their reluctance to check things out for themselves. And you know what? ...we don't really care. We are doing a lot already around the world people are getting blessed all around the world. Our programs are on air in several countries and in every continent of the world. They even call us, asking to have us on their tv stations. Pastor Chris was in South Africa and the city of Johannesburg has not remained the same since then. There is fire burning! Thousnads were healed of deafness, lameness, stroke, paralysis, Hiv etc. The miracles were documented. You can go to SA and find out for yourself. Or will you say he hired people there also to pretend? All those enlightend people ... white and black alike? In Europe and America its the same thing. testimonies keep pouring in from around the world, even from viewers of the TV programs who get healed by wathcing. Recently, the president of Togo sent a delegation to pastor Chris, asking him to come and hold a crusade in their country. Pastor has agreed to go. It will be another rain of the miraculous. I remember some years ago, a friend of mine came exitedly to church with his nephew who had his genotype changed form SS to AA. I talked with the little boy and even played with him. He testified in church to the glory of God. That boy is still alive and sound and his medical reportsa re avialable to show. Oh may God grant you grace to believe in his power to heal and to save. |
wahalaman:That is a lie! Jesus didnt say so.the bible didnt say so. Mind you , Jesus was speaking to someone who was morally upright. Nicodemus was a a teacher of the law, a pharisee, so he must have been a morally upright man. Yet Jesus told him, "You must be born again!" Jesus went on to say, " That which is born of the flesh is flesh, that which is born of the Spirit is Spirit..." ...meaning, it is not a natural experience, it is the working of the Holy Spirit. To be born again is'nt to change your ways.it is more than that. You do not just change your ways, you actually recieve the life and nature of God by faith into your spirit. You recieve righteousness from God as a free gift. Righteousness gives you the ability to stand in the presence of God without a feeling of guilt, inferiority, or condemnation. It also gives you the ability to do right. This is the righteousness of God. The very righteousness that Jesus has. Any other righteousness is inferior, empty self righteousness. If you only read your bible properly, you will see all this. When you recieve this righteousness from God, it becomes natural for you to do good and unnatural for you to sin. That is why cornelius with all his prayer, alms giving n fear of God, still needed 2 b saved, so much so dt God had to send an angel to Peter telling him to go and give cornelius words by which he might be saved. If you could do it yourself, Jesus wouold not have died. Let me show you just a little picture of who the New creation in Christ is: John 1:12-13 12Yet to all who received him, to those who believed in his name, he gave the right(power) to become children of God— 13children born not of natural descent, nor of human decision or a husband's will, but born of God. |
John 1 43The next day Jesus decided to leave for Galilee. Finding Philip, he said to him, "Follow me." 44Philip, like Andrew and Peter, was from the town of Bethsaida. 45Philip found Nathanael and told him, "We have found the one Moses wrote about in the Law, and about whom the prophets also wrote—Jesus of Nazareth, the son of Joseph." 46"Nazareth! Can anything good come from there?" Nathanael asked. "Come and see," said Philip. 47When Jesus saw Nathanael approaching, he said of him, "Here is a true Israelite, in whom there is nothing false." 48"How do you know me?" Nathanael asked. Jesus answered, "I saw you while you were still under the fig tree before Philip called you." 49Then Nathanael declared, "Rabbi, you are the Son of God; you are the King of Israel." 50Jesus said, "You believe because I told you I saw you under the fig tree. You shall see greater things than that." 51He then added, "I tell you the truth, you shall see heaven open, and the angels of God ascending and descending on the Son of Man." Thank God Nathaniel didnt say it was by chance or co-incidence! |

Allonym, Why do you pretend as though you dont know where to find such cases. I am one of such cases. I'm sure on naira land you cn get some others. If you are in nigeria, send me a mail and i will take you to see some recipients of miracles. What makes you think none of them have come out to say they have been healed? What about those you see on tv. testifying? if you are living in Nigeria, it is not uncommon to see somone you know testifying on tv. Why do you think the crowds keep increasing? Do you think people are that gullibe? It is because the miracles not going unnoticed. Most of those shown on tv have medical reports to show you. I can speak for my church. If you are serious, visit any christembassy around you and find out for yourself. i'm sure you'll find some there ...otherwise, i'll see you and the NBC as birds of the same feather. |
The devil isn't a force or personification of any sort. He is a real angel who had been defeated by Jesus over 2000 years ago. He is the leader of the group of angels that rebeled against God and who were kicked out of heaven. He has his network of demons with which he does havoc all over the earth. He seeks to destroy all men but he donsnt live in or have dominion over all men... Because there are those who live and reign with God in dominin over sin and the devil. ...a breed of people who have been made superior to satan and to whom have been given the instruction form Jesus to cast out devils! He lives in the unregenerated man. He controls this man and the man, no matter how he tries remains under his condemnation. He however speaks to people's minds...but it dosnt mean we have to accept what he says. Collosians 2 9For in him( Jesus) dwelleth all the fulness of the Godhead bodily. 10And ye are complete in him, which is the head of all principality and power: 11In whom also ye are circumcised with the circumcision made without hands, in putting off the body of the sins of the flesh by the circumcision of Christ: 12Buried with him in baptism, wherein also ye are risen with him through the faith of the operation of God, who hath raised him from the dead. 13And you, being dead in your sins and the uncircumcision of your flesh, hath he quickened together with him, having forgiven you all trespasses; 14Blotting out the handwriting of ordinances that was against us, which was contrary to us, and took it out of the way, nailing it to his cross; 15And having spoiled principalities and powers, he made a shew of them openly, triumphing over them in it. We were dead in sins but Jesus has made us alive! Romans 6:14 For sin shall not have dominion over you: for ye are not under the law, but under grace. Jesus made an open show of the devil and his cohorts in hell. He spoiled them ( if you can imagine when soldiers go to war and come back with the spoils of war- every thing of value belonging to the enemy). They have been disarmed!...but for lack of knowledge, God's people perish. |
Listen here guys and listen good. Sin is more than an action... it is a nature -the nature of the devil; just like reghteous is more than some actions... it is also a nature - the nature of God. When Adam sinned against God and obeyed te devil, he took upon himself the nature of the devil(which is sin) and the devil took his adamic nature from Him (The adamic nature is perfect) Satan took the kingdom from Him. Satan took control of this world. This control was originally given to Adam. Adam took the devils nature and the devil took Adam's when Adam sold out to him. This is the reason even Micheal the Arch angel,(and the highest angel) could not rebuke satan...except by saying "the Lord rebuke thee". Satan had gained Adamic authority. That is why satan was called the prince of this world, where as Adam was made originally, the God of this world, before the fall. Satan got the kingdom form Adam. This is why satan could tell Jesus, "bow before me and i will give you all the kingdoms of the world". If he did not have the kingdoms of this world then that will not be a genuine temptaion. Since the fall, any child born into this world comes in with the nature of the devil. He does not need to do anything wrong, he is born that way! This is why jesus said, "except a man be born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God"! No amount of good deeds can give you a place in the kingdom without having that precious blood of Jesus wash you clean for ever ...and without recieving eternal life of almighty God into yor Spirit There is no in-between. You are either a child of God by the new birth or a child of the devil.. |
You forget that this is Nigeria. The fact that they have been proven wrong dosnt mean the programs will be on tv immediately. They have been taken to court in different states of the federation and have been proven wrong. Some state stations have begun showing the programs again. They have even been proven wrong on nairaland, thank you. Those who are actually behind the bann are not even seen at the fore-front of this fight. |
Abuse? ..I asked you questions which you havent yet answered. So what kind of christainity am i expected to practice? The kind of christianity i practice is not the one that compromises with the world in their manner of conversation? It is not the kind that is without the tangible manifested prsence of God in the miraculous. The kind of christainity i practice is the one that is by absolute faith in God's word from beginning to the end. It is not the kind that exhalts human wisdom, the widom of this world above the knowledge of God. It is a life beyond the senses. Any other kind is not christainity but mere religion. |
Joftech, have you heard of anyone who sid he was paid to testify? Are these not people living in Nigeria? There have been thousands of these miracles and noone has been made to come out to disgrace these preachers. At least the money would need some topping form time to time aint it? The NBC are the ones with the question mark over their heads. |
No one has ever given to God willingly, in faith and with a cheerful heart and died of hunger. It is IMPOSSIBLE! 2corinthians 9:7-8 Let each one [give] as he has made up his own mind and purposed in his heart, not reluctantly or sorrowfully or under compulsion, for God loves (He [b]takes pleasure in, prizes above other things, and is unwilling to abandon or to do without) a cheerful (joyous, "prompt to do it" giver [whose heart is in his giving].And God is able to make all grace (every favor and [c]earthly blessing) come to you in abundance, so that you may always and under all circumstances and whatever the need [d]be self-sufficient [possessing enough to require no aid or support and furnished in abundance for every good work and charitable donation]. |
Enigma, Enigma:Are you speaking from what you know or merely expressing the corruption and deciet that you have in your own heart? You are quoting scripture out of context my friend. If Jesus said they performed miracles in His name, does that not mean that they performed miracles. Do not use your spiritual dryness as a yardstick to judge others. There are those who are annointed/ empowered by God to perform miracles and the bible talks about such. If you have not witnessd a miracle before, its a pity my friend because millions are experiencing the power of God all over the world. 1cor 12:4-10 4Now there are diversities of gifts, but the same Spirit. 5And there are differences of administrations, but the same Lord. 6And there are diversities of operations, but it is the same God which worketh all in all. 7But the manifestation of the Spirit is given to every man to profit withal. 8For to one is given by the Spirit the word of wisdom; to another the word of knowledge by the same Spirit; 9To another faith by the same Spirit; to another the gifts of healing by the same Spirit; 10To another the working of miracles; to another prophecy; to another discerning of spirits; to another divers kinds of tongues; to another the interpretation of tongues: "...let God alone be true and evey man a liar" You can click here and see miracles unfold before your eyes, maybe if God gives you grace, you will believe: http://www.christembassyhealingschool.org/ |
Did you say proof? There are a thousand and one things you have believed without seeing proof. How do you know that woman they say is your mum is really your mum? Did you ask for a blood test first to be sure she is your mother? Why dont you ask your dad if he is actually your dad? How come you then deprive yourself of the rest of God by seeking truth your own way? |
Jesus, founded the church upon the rock (talking about himself) and not upon peter. Jesus founded the catholic (universal) church but not the Roman cathoilc church. The church in Jerusalem was not the Roman catholic Church. If you study the book of Acts properly you will discover that James, the brother of jesus, was the pastor of the church in Jerusalem and not Peter. I can show you that from the scriptures if you care. Talking about Jesus 'claiming to be the voice of God'. He is not Just claiming to speak for God, He is Himself the Word of God according to the scriptures. "in the beginning was the Word and the Word was with God and the Word was God". |
chrisd:The Lord is my shepherd, I shall not want! Meaning, 'The Lord is all i could ever want... He is my sufficiency....there is nothing that i want...that i dont already have' 1 Corinthians 3:21,22 Therefore let no man glory in men. For all things are your's; Whether Paul, or Apollos, or Cephas, or the world, or life, or death, or things present, or things to come; all are you chrisd:2 Corinthians 9:7 Let each one [give] as he has made up his own mind and purposed in his heart, not reluctantly or sorrowfully or under compulsion, for God loves, takes pleasure in, prizes above other things, and is unwilling to abandon or to do without) a cheerful (joyous, "prompt to do it" giver [whose heart is in his giving].God is a giver and so are we his kids. He gave his very best to the world. So do we to our world. chrisd:Matthew 16:25 For whosoever will save his life shall lose it: and whosoever will lose his life for my sake shall find it. Mark 10:29,30,31 29"I tell you the truth," Jesus replied, "no one who has left home or brothers or sisters or mother or father or children or fields for me and the gospel 30will fail to receive a hundred times as much in this present age (homes, brothers, sisters, mothers, children and fields—and with them, persecutions) and in the age to come, eternal life. 31But many who are first will be last, and the last first." chrisd:1 John 5:4 For whatsoever is born of God overcometh the world: and this is the victory that overcometh the world, even our faith. 1John 4:4 Ye are of God, little children, and have overcome them: because greater is he that is in you, than he that is in the world Rom 8 31What, then, shall we say in response to this? If God is for us, who can be against us? 32He who did not spare his own Son, but gave him up for us all—how will he not also, along with him, graciously give us all things? 33Who will bring any charge against those whom God has chosen? It is God who justifies. 34Who is he that condemns? Christ Jesus, who died—more than that, who was raised to life—is at the right hand of God and is also interceding for us. 35Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? Shall trouble or hardship or persecution or famine or unclothedness or danger or sword? 36As it is written: "For your sake we face death all day long; we are considered as sheep to be slaughtered."[l] 37No, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him who loved us. |
The questions you just put up against God did not just pop up in your mind did they? So why mention my name as if i put them there? Well, the best thing to do is not to try to whip up sentiments that way. If you are seeking for answers, simply say so. Get to the right place and you will find answers. God already made provision before the foundation of the world. Jesus is the lamb that was slain before the foundation of the world. He knew he had given Adam free will and thus expected him to do right in love and not out of compulsion. Jesus is merciful and ever willing to save... but does that permit us to crucify him again and count the blood that was shed on the cross worthless? There is before us a path that is true and Just and also a path taht leads unto destruction. it is left to us to choose that path of life and live or choose death and be destroyed. It is not up to God but up to You. As for satan, he has been defeated and he is right now under my feet. He was put there over 2000 years ago by Jesus. It is my responsibility to have him remain there. God has already made all provision for us to live successfully and victorious in christ. the moment you are born again, you recieve the divine naturre of Almighty God. This is what guarantees your success in life. Hosea 4:6 My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge: because thou hast rejected knowledge... ...and not bc God did not care ....or satan was too powerful. |
Deuteronomy 30:19 I call heaven and earth to record this day against you, that I have set before you life and death, blessing and cursing: therefore choose life, that both thou and thy seed may live: It is my prayer that the Spirit of God guides your heart this day to make the right choice. |
To the rest of you who have rained insults on me. No offence at all. I only take Solace in the Words of Jesus: John 15 18"If the world hates you, keep in mind that it hated me first. 19If you belonged to the world, it would love you as its own. As it is, you do not belong to the world, but I have chosen you out of the world. That is why the world hates you. 20Remember the words I spoke to you: 'No servant is greater than his master.' If they persecuted me, they will persecute you also. If they obeyed my teaching, they will obey yours also. 21They will treat you this way because of my name, for they do not know the One who sent me. And in Jesus' intercessory prayer: John 17 14 I have given them your word and the world has hated them, for they are not of the world any more than I am of the world 15My prayer is not that you take them out of the world but that you protect them from the evil one. 16They are not of the world, even as I am not of it . 17Sanctify them by the truth; your word is truth. 18As you sent me into the world, I have sent them into the world. 19For them I sanctify myself, that they too may be truly sanctified. Then he mentions my name ...Oh Halleluyah 20[b]"My prayer is not for them alone. I pray also for those who will believe in me through their message[/b], 21that all of them may be one, Father, just as you are in me and I am in you. May they also be in us so that the world may believe that you have sent me. 22I have given them the glory that you gave me, [i] Oh how can i be disadvantaged and in distress when Jesus gave me his glory?! [i]that they may be one as we are one: 23I in them and you in me. May they be brought to complete unity to let the world know that you sent me and have loved them even as you have loved me. Oh Halleluyah. Jesus wants the world to know that God loves his children as much as He loves Him. 24"Father, I want those you have given me to be with me where I am, and to see my glory, the glory you have given me because you loved me before the creation of the world. Oh my... you know what? this isn't refering to heaven. This is talking about Zion. Jesus is refering to a place at the right hand of God. That place of authority...where you rule and reign with God ...Glory! That is why i say....I am not of this World! I love ya all!! |
Punkdude, i feel you... just like i do others like you. Instead of simply asking questions to help you with the many doubts that trouble your mind, you are arrogantly speaking against what you do not understand. Layi has spoken well. I can show you the description of a dinasour in the scriptures and prove to you that the bible does not deny their having existed only if You ask properly. |
Chrisd, Please understand, we have different kinds of congregations. Some of them are full of babes while others are full of growing healthy mature christains. In our church, we do not argue whether or not to pay tithes. It is not an issue for contention. We have gone past that level. We have people come up to give big time towards church projects without much begging. We have mature sons of consolation amongst us who know hat they are in partnership with the Lord Jeusus Christ. Of course we do not pay tithes in abedience to any law. We pay tithes in accordance with the life of faith that we have recieved. Why worry about tithe paying if you have made up your mind not to pay? Or is the obedience of others any trouble to you. The pators and members alike pay tithes. In our church the tithes are not for the pastor's consumption but according to the scriptures, they are for the Lord. Majority of our pastors do not recieve salaries from the church so it will be wrong to accuse them of fraudulently intepreting God's Word for personal gain. |
What is your anger about now? Are you angry that i am not complaining like you are. My friend i am living above this world and its systms through God's Word. It will only take God's Spirit to open up your mind to understand that. This is the divine life i have been talking about. This is the secret place of he most high God... this is the REST of God. It is not of this world. It is found in Christ alone. Jesus saw beyond the suffering, he was not afraid to die...afterall that was why He came. He did not want to be seperated from the father whom he loved so much (and who does not behold iniquity) by taking on the sins of the world. But it happend. He died for us, he was buried for us, he went to hell for us, but came out alive and victorious triumphing over death and all the co-horts of hell and gave us the victory. So my friend, it is impossible for me to live in defeat after this great price has been paid. |
