I agree with you dear. It is that feeling of emptiness in every ungodly person inspite of all of lifes 'pleasures' that God wants to occupy with his love and presence.
Christianity Etc › Re: What If The Devil Repents Today? by donnie(m): 1:32pm On Jan 03, 2006
It is impossible for the devil to repent.

Repent from what? He has already been cast out. He has already been judged.

In fact, it is not his wish to repent since he is still filled with pride and rebellion against God for giving man the place (at the right hand of the father in heaven - that place of authority and power) which he had always coveted.

This is the reason he roams about trying to decieve men, turning them away from what is already theirs in christ so as to ensure their condemnation with him for eternity.

The sentence has already been passed on him.

He is doomed to the eternal lake of fire.

Nferyn, How come you appear not to believe tin the existence of a spiritual world when there is ample eveidence all around us. The things which we see according to God's word come from things that we do not see.

In other words, the spiritual world controls the physical world.

Are you african? ....and did you say you do not believe in the existence of the supernatural. I tell you, there are some folks(not just traditional juju priests but children of God) who have power to even tie you down to the ground so that you can't get up.

I dare you (if you are not afraid to witnesss genuine proofs of God's exixtence) to attend one of Pastor Chris' meetings (say...healing school) with soomeone sick or diseased. Even if you do not break down in tears before the pesence of God  for your disobedience and hardness of heart you sure will bow down and worship God because of the working of His mighty power which you will witness before your very eyes.

I have seen several atheists and anti-christs bow to the Name of Jesus at the working of God's mighty power. You will not be the first.

It is easy to be an etheist when things seem to be moving on fine. However, it is extremely difficult to be an etheist when you are on your death bed.

nferyn:
You do not believe in the Theory of Evolution if you do not believe in common descent or in the fact that evolution is still happening today. I'm glad though that you have opened your mind for at least part of the evidence.
I have opened my mind but do not intend to loose it to failed-human wisdom
nferyn:
Please explain mitochondria, non-coding DNA and fragments of viral DNA in our genome.
These are clear markers for common descent from micro organisms.
Of course our bodies should have traces of micro-organisms...afterall our bodies were formed from the earth. That is not to say that we descended from micro-organisms.

nferyn:
The differences in DNA between chimpanzees and humans point to a common ancestor about 6 million years ago.
No...it points to the fact that whereas man was created a spirit in Gods image, chimpanzees were formed from the earth, the same place where man got his body (earth- suit, with which he fuctions on the earth) from. This man unlike the early man(or ape-man) has that spark of diviity in him for which reason he is drawn towards God who desires to save and fellowship with him.

nferyn:
We have markers for other 'points of contact' in the tree of life and they all match up with the fossil record and the geometric dating of these fossils. There is currently not one example that contradicts these findings. Only one find that doesn't fit the tree of life would falsify common descent. None have been found yet (and you know that a lot of fossils have been found)
...but their assumptions are wrong.

nferyn:
If we were all descendants of Adam and Eve, this would be visible in our genome. It isn't. Mitochondrial Eve (the common human female ancestor of all humanity - I won't carry the full argument here, because explaining this mechanism would take a few pages - see http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mitochondrial_Eve for more info) lived about 150.000 years ago.
...you are just looking for every thing possible to use to deny the reality of God which i wouldnt be supprsed you believe exists, but are too proud or should i say, afraid to accept.

nferyn:
there is no physical evidence for such an event. God must have pulled quite a trick out of his sleeve to deceive us so profoundly.
He is to big for such.

nferyn:
Anyway, evolution is still happening today, even in humans, e.g. sickle cell anemia, smaller jaw, lactose tolerance, wisdom teeth becoming less common)
I may not be as vast as you scietifically, but i know a lot more than to be decieved by that.
nferyn:
Again, the evidence points in another direction.
Is that what you call evidence. How can you call those developments (which are merely results of changes in eating habits of humans, diets, nutritional contents or preparation and preservation of our foods or change in some other external or factors) pointers to evolution.

Exu

i don't usually waste my time delving into biblical discussions,

...i believe you. That is good because you do not know the bible ...so why try to comment on it. This fact accounts for your unbelief.

however i'm pretty sure that there is nothing in the book of Genesis that even alludes to a world before...or of a 're-creation' of Earth...or any of the other things of claim...

God put a 'stop' to evolution?

You do not know the bible so how can you talk about being sure or not? If what you are indirectly asking for are scripture references, i suggest you do that humbly and politely ok?

sage,

For ur inforation, tithing did not originate from the mosaic law but. Abraham tithed ever before the law came. He did so not as one under the law but as a man of fatih, concious of his covenant with almighty God.

We do the same because we are children of Abraham and heirs of the promises that God made to him in Christ.

My advice is that you study the word properly for yourself before you come up here to put up posts. AS for me, i do not talk carelessly about things i dont understand.

Bible says that those who are of faith are the children of Abraham and heirs of the promise.

HND,

I have no business discussing christain doctrines with you.

One who will say that there are other ways to the father apart from Jesus... is not a christain....he is still in his sins so do not decieve yourself.

Did you and your atheist friend Nfern not tag along to question the authority of the bible? I guess those are some of the results of your reading wide hun?

2 Timothy 3:7
Ever learning, and never able to come to the knowledge of the truth

Did you not question the inspiration of the prophets of the bible?

Did you not question the existence of the Holy Spirit asking me to prove his existence. Did you not doubt his miracles. Another result of reading wide i guess.

If the christianity you say you practice allows such instability and wavering, i dare say, it is not the one established by Jesus Christ.

Now you have returned in the attire of a christain to argue and debunk truths that you know nothing about. If you like put on a white colllar, it wont change a thing...you are not a christain and you do not deserve any response as regards christrian doctrines.

This is one reason i admire Nfern (even though i feel sorry for him for the position he has chosen to stand in). He mainatains his stand without wavering. He defends his stand not cawardly jumping form here to there. i admire him for that.

James 1:6,7

Christianity Etc › Re: Melchisedec - Who Was This Man? by donnie(op): 6:02pm On Dec 23, 2005
chrisd:
Abraham had defeated King Chedorlaomer and the other three allied kings, and then was met by Melchizedek, the Canaanite King of Salem and “a priest of God Most High.” (Interestingly, the word Melchizedek means, “My king is righteousness,” and Salem, “peace.” ) Melchizedek presented bread and wine to Abraham, and blessed him with these words: “blessed be Abram by God Most High, the creator of Heaven and earth; and blessed be God Most High, who delivered your foes into your hand” (Genesis 14:19-20). Keep in mind that bread and wine were customarily offered in sacrifice among the “first fruits” of the earth in thanksgiving to the Creator. Although Melchizedek is technically a pagan priest
He was not a pagan priest...what do you mean by pagan? The bible calls him,"priest of the most high God"! How could He be pagan when he was called priest of the most high God

chrisd:
he recognizes the one supreme deity, using the title, “God Most High,” just as the Jewish people would. Accepting this blessing and offering, Abraham gives to Melchizedek a tithe of one-tenth the booty from his campaign. After this encounter, however, Melchizedek disappears from the Genesis story.
This is not just a story or myth...it actually happened. Where did he disappear to?

chrisd:
Melchizedek is mentioned again in Psalm 110: “The Lord has sworn, and he will not repent: You are a priest forever, according to the order of Melchizedek” (110:4). This psalm is considered one of the most important of the Messianic psalms, identifying the forthcoming Messiah, our Lord Jesus Christ, as King, Priest, and Conqueror.
Thank you ...the question is 'who was melchisadech?'

chrisd:
Perhaps St. Paul, the traditional author of the Letter to the Hebrews, was the greatest promoter of Melchizedek. (See Chapters 5-9.) St. Paul used the person of Melchizedek to illustrate the doctrine of the sacrificial priesthood as established by Christ. St. Paul begins, “Every high priest is taken from among men and made their representative before God, to offer gifts and sacrifices for sins” (Hebrews 5:1). Despite human weakness, a man is called by God to be a priest.

St. Paul then compares and contrasts the priesthood of Melchizedek with that of Aaron, the Levitical Priesthood: The priesthood of Aaron was based on his ancestry from Abraham. The priests following Aaron were of his family, the House of Levi, and appointed priests because of their heredity. Also, these priests offered the sacrifices of the Old Covenant.
So what is your point?  huh Who is this man who had no father or mother? ...who walked on this earth and was called a priest of the most high God.King of peace and a priest for ever?

If you are refering to some bible commentry, understand that some of those commentries are from people who do not even believe in Jesus.people who are just scholarly, lacking the Spirit. So be careful to distinguish between commentry and bible.

Nferyn,

I do believe in evolution because i have considered the facts that these scientists have brought forth. The theory does not contradict my bible.

But i do not believe like you and the rest of your atheist folk will have us believe, the errounous conclusion and assumption of some scientists that we evolved from certain micro organisms or ape-like beings. I am aware of the homo-erectus discoveries and i do not  find any problem with them. I have seen the ape-men discoveries and i do not agrue with them.

The point here is that, those creatures lived on this earth long before Adam was created by God. There have also been fossils of cities and animals that existed on the earth long before Adam. Again, i do not find any problem with these discoveries.

According to the bible, there was a world before  the world of Adam. This is the world in which evoluation was in process. This world however, was destroyed and turned upside down by God. God then put a stop to the process of evolution.

There was then a re-creation of the wrold in Genesis, in which Adam was created and put in. This adam was created in God's image and formed from the dust of the earth.  He did not come as a result of evolution. Man has been that way since then.

When scientists come up with facts, we do not argue with them, but when they come up with assumptions, we test such assumtions according to God's word and prove them to be true of false.

I really am not picking on your posts even though i used them for something like a reference point.neither am i fighting someone else's battles. I am  only dealing with certain mindsets which i think need to be corrected.

All i stand for is truth and nothing else. You see, it is easy to  move with the crowd because that way seems right. But when you check the Word, you will discover that the way most of us think is not according to the Word but according to the world.

Well, i guess i came down a bit too hard though. It is with the intention of directing peoples attention to the Word and giving the Word its rightful place of honour.

Most of the negative statements i have seen made here aginst the church are actually the thoughts of demons. It will take a spiritual mind to sense when the devil is talking even through the mouths of supposed God's people.

Consider for a moment.... Those who work in the miraculous so powerfully are quickly spoken evil of and called agents of satan. While those who pray and shout endlessly with no results are said to be true christians. Is that not what satan( the God of this world) will have us believe?

Chrisd,

If i may ask, are you a christain? i want to know whether to bother responding to ur post or not.

For your information, Jesus, followed the scriptures closely ...the apostles too. We cannot afford to do less.

Heb 10
5Therefore, when Christ came into the world, he said:
"Sacrifice and offering you did not desire,
     but a body you prepared for me;
6with burnt offerings and sin offerings
     you were not pleased.
7Then I said, 'Here I am—it is written about me in the scroll—
I have come to do your will, O God.
' "[a] 8First he said, "Sacrifices and offerings, burnt offerings and sin offerings you did not desire, nor were you pleased with them" (although the law required them to be made). 9Then he said, "Here I am, I have come to do your will." He sets aside the first to establish the second. 10And by that will, we have been made holy through the sacrifice of the body of Jesus Christ once for all.

David also prophetically spoke the words of the master," i come to do they will oh Lord" which the writer of hebrews quoted from.

Psalm 40:7

7 Then I said, "Here I am, I have come—
it is written about me in the scroll.

We are told to follow the written word as a light shinnng in the dark:

2 Peter 1:19
We have also a more sure word of prophecy(the written word); whereunto ye do well that ye take heed, as unto a light that shineth in a dark place, until the day dawn, and the day star arise in your hearts:

The Pharisees you talked about, did not know the Word. They may have known the letter but did not know the Spirit of the word.

Jesus addressing them said,"you err, because you do not know the scriptures...for they testify of me"

HND,
Do you think you can also get the divine nature by quoting scripture out of context? It is those that believe that He gives Power to become sons of God You cannot comprehend that life intellectually. It is beyond the senses. It is better experienced.

Do you think what we profess is mere religion? It is the life of the supernatural my friend. You cannot get it by quoting scripture.

I have not forgotten all the abominable words you have spoken on this site. Tell me. Are you not a Grail messenger? Why do you pose as a christian then...and firm believer in Jesus? That is not a sincere at all. I knew you were not a believer from the first day i spoke with you. I told you that, did i not?

Is that not what Jesus said," they come to you in sheep clothing, but they are ravenous wolves".

My dear,

Hmm... I do love your post but i'd like to point out some things here. Did the C&S man tell you he was waiting for that hand of fellowship before he considers himself a friend of Jesus?

Funny enough, the two preachers you just mentioned(Presiding Bishop of TREM and General Overseer of Foursquare Church)  in my own opinion are not totally innocent as regards the inter-church conflicts we have had in this country over the years. Anyway, we thank the Lord.

The Holy Ghost our sanctifier, will exhalt his name in the church in our country. He will raise his banner of love ...high above the expectations of men and will honour those who are truly His.

He will put a difference between those who are serving him and those who are not ...but are merely leaders by position and not by spiritual authority. He will build his church and put his beauty in her midst. It is not the work of man but the work of God.

Baby cute and Pretty H,

Why don't you come up with this your fine talk when we talk about pastor Adeboye or Bishop Oyedepo or even pastor Chris okotie:

"...and d bible also says that on d last day that people will cry out2God.."we performed miracles in your name,we called upon your name.."and God would turn2dem and say depart4rm me because i knw u not..d bible also states that by dere fruits ye shall know them..im admonishing u guys 2 continue believing d God u serve.and not base your belief on your pastors,bishops,prophets..havent u seen end time movies where d pastor of a church would be left behind after rapture?i only pray that people wnt kip falling prey of false doctrines...

Abeg let us hear.... we know already that there are false prophets . You don't need to remind us.

The truth still remains. God never sent a man without the necessary credentials. So enough grammer. If God called you, we want to see the demonstration of the Spirit and power in your life and ministry.

There is nothing wrong in packing up that business you call church and going ahead to submit yourself under the authority of one who is called.

Most of the great philosophers  we have had who did not believe in the Almighty God died searching for truth. They searched the earth, water, sun and other created things. In all thier wisdom and much learning, they did not know God. What a pity.

Buddah died and it was said that on his death bed  he said, "I am still searching for truth". How sad. cry

Jesus came and said, "I am the truth". For someone to talk that way, he is either mad or he knows fully well that He is God.

I wonder how you strongly oppose the proof of reality of the ark when you have not listened to the details or better still comfirmed their discoveries. What happened to logical reasoning?

I have watched a documentary of the discoveries that have been made concerning Noah's ark. Concerning its size, exact location at the end of the flood, and even fossils have been discovered.

Like i always say, no physical proof of the reality of Jesus is as convincing as this deposit of the precious Holy Spirit within my heart. He is more real than anything in the world.

These are spiritual laws that have been set. That name of Jesus is powerful. In all of heaven, earth and beneath the earth it is the greatest. It must be called with reveerence.

In your ignorance, God may overlook, but now, you have heard my warning.
