I agree, those who know what they are saying do not use many words.

They say tiithe was paid in kind (produce and animals) ; what they fail to undersatnd is that these (produce and animals) were currency then.

A name certainly has  influence over the life of the one who bears it.

Especially when the bearer is concuious of the meaning and significance of the name. This conciousness further aids in your living out the name.

If you look throughout he scriptures you will see theat God is very particular  about names.

If he wants to change a man's destiny, all he does is cahnge the name.  The lives of Abraham, Isaac, Gideon, peter and many more, even Jesus, are pointers to this fact.

The reason Muslims in Europe and America seem to be more liberal is that they have had a rub-off or should i say a little taste of the freedom brought to those nations by the Gospel of Jesus Christ.

Rather than advice that we open our eyes and not follow blindly, i think i will advice that anyone who claims to be a christian should get to recieve and become acquinted with the person of the Holy spirit through constant fellowship because u see, its the only way you can live successfully as a christain.

He is the Spirit of truth, sent by God to guide us into all truth.

He opens our eyes to the truth of God's word so that we do not walk in the dark.

I pray so too. But u see, if you do not determine and declare by the Spirit what your actions would and should be, you will not be able to put yourself together when the evil day comes. So u put on your amour of faith now against the evil day.

It will be a great honour for me to lay down my life for my faith in Jesus. I will gladly choose christ.

However, that is if they succeed in takin my life. If God dosnt approve of it, it dosnt matter what weapons they come with, they will not prosper.

According to Apostle Paul, by loving them in spite of themselves, you will be heaping coals of fire on their heads.

Then what did he mean by: blessed are the meek?

Contradictions, that is what u see when you do not have the Spirit of truth guiding you through the Word of truth.

I have not yet found one of those so called contradictions in the scriptures. The Spirit is one and he always confirms his living Word in our hearts.

As for the first posting on this thread, i will deal with each one of thoe so-called contradictions step by step when i find the time to or when i feel it is worth it.

I did my NYSC in Maiduguri; i can tell you something.

The mere sight of you carrying a bible is enough to stir up anger in them. They are simply irritated by the sight of you openly professing your faith. It is even more dangerous when you go into a muslim compound to share the scriptures. In fact, many christians will even hate to imaging that.

Why did they threaten to kill the Evangelist Renhard Bonkke when he visited Kaduna for a crusade? He had to be rescued by the Federal Govt. He was flown out of Kaduna immediately.

How come they are always the first to start the killing in the religious crisis we've had in our nation?

I am not in anyway confused by that scripture , or its relevance to this topic or the assertion of Islam being in support of violence. I am not.

Just like the children if Isreal are decendants of Abraham(according to the flesh) through Isaac, the child of Promise; so the church today are the decendants of Abraham through Christ who is the actual seed of Abraham and therefore heirs of the Promises that God made to Abraham.

However, Muslims do not agree with this fact, arguing that Ishmael and not Isaac was the rightful heir of the Abrahamic covenant and therefore, the rightful heir of the Blessings that God gave to Abraham and his seed after him (beause he was first born). They therefore claim that they are decendants of Ishmael.

But history tell us that God has been with the people of Isreal, defeating their enemies before them. Even to this day, the promise of God to Isreal remains he will redeem his people  at the seond coming of our Lord.

When God blesses it goes down even unto the generations yet to come. It is the same thing when He curses.

When God blessed Abraham, was it for him alone or for all those which were to be born after him?

Of course the blessing was for all his children/seed.

How is Jesus the seed of Abraham and of David?

That is the way God deals with men as seen in several prtions or scripture.

A proper understanding of the book of beginnings(Genesis) will throw light into several dark areas of life.

First and foremost. I do not intend to take you on a lecture on the Abrahamic covenant so i'd advice you do a study on that covenant and how we as chrsitians partake of the Abrahamic covenant.

Secondly, get in touch with a muslim and ask him to trace their origin from father Abraham.

Before i leave i will like to correct the impression you are giving that the passage i quoted implied that God established Islam either above or after Christianity.

For the covenant that God made with Araham was to him and his seed after him. The bible also tells us that that seed is Christ.

Now Isaac, who was the seed of Abraham according to the flesh, was the beneficiary of the Abrahamic blessing and not Ishmael. For he was the child of promise even though Abraham in his lack of full undersatnding of God's plan went into Haggai who bore Ishmael.

That however did not change God's plan of Having a Son born of Sarah to be heir of the Promise. For God hath said to Abraham, "In Isaac shall thy seed be called."
