CareerRe: Should I Continue With My Bank Cleaner Job Or Work In The Filling Station by Donraqh(m): 2:37pm On Feb 07, 2022
Idowu116:
Hello Nairalanders, there is a very confusing issue I would love to share here so your opinions are highly needed.

I work in a bank as a cleaner since last year April and I earn #26,000 per month. I have been working with the aim of starting a business (even if I don't have any business idea to run)or furthering my education because I stop at SS3 since 2017 when I graduated.
Last week, my uncle called me that there is vacancy at a filling station in ibadan then from there I will continue schooling in a polythecnic of ibadan. He said I will be paid #15,000 per month an I will do part time at the poly.He said I shouldn't worry about accommodation and feeding. He also said I will be paying my school fees from my salary.

I haven't worked in a filling station before but I would love to change environment too. I don't want to leave this job and regret later and I don't know if I will do well in the filling station but I also want to further my education too.

I am confused here and I don't know what decision to take.So I came here to seek for a very candid advice on how to deal with the issue.
Please your opinions are needed thank you
Lalasticlala please help move to front page.Thank you
1) I will suggest you stay put in your present location and make do with the N26k salary from the bank for now.

2) You can enrol for a part-time problem in your current location, all you need is good rapport with your fellow cleaners in your office. They'll cover up for you on lecture and exam days.

Besides lectures and exams with part-time programs are usually weekends, so you may just score a point if your branch isn't doing Saturday/Sunday banking.

You'll hardly get such opportunity in a fuel station since they run 24/7 on default though you stand to make side money with numerical ability.

3) Is your uncle in Ibadan married? If yes, that's a red flag. Forget the promise of accommodation and feeding it's not gonna work. She'll turn to something else very soon.

Besides, they'll turn you to a domestic staff without pay though you shouldn't be expecting any, and I bet you won't like it.

Your uncle has a good agenda for you, but please stay put in your struggle. It won't be long before you will breakthrough.

If he's not married which I doubt, still do not depend on relatives promises, hustle your way out. All man for himself.

If he can afford your feeding and accommodation why not pay your school fees too?

The devil you know is better than the Angel you don't know.

Good luck.

BusinessHow To Track Worldremit Transfers/ Correct Receiver Details by Donraqh(op): 5:12pm On Oct 01, 2021
World remit tracking – If you are a regular World remit sender/receiver you’d surely agree with the fact that there’s this need to know the exact transaction status and destination at a particular time.

This mostly happens when the receiver has not been able to claim the transfer in Nigeria or any other country with recourse to certain errors.

Given this, the need to track such transfer becomes grossly necessary as the case may be.

If you are a sender or a transfer beneficiary who wants to track your world remit transfer, here’s the best guide that will get you started without wasting your time.

What is World Remit Tracking?

World Remit Tracking is a practice in which either the sender/receiver of a transfer determines the exact position/status of a world remit transfer.

Note: A tracked transfer will tell the exact location and status of such transfer, this in essence will accord both parties a rest of mind towards working for the final cash pick-up.

Sometimes tracking a transfer will help with timely security awareness in a situation such as transfer is being high jacked by internet fraudsters.

In case you want to learn how to send and receive world remit transfer in Nigeria, I have written a complete guide that’ll help you to get started at once, read it here then come back and continue with this guide.

How to track a world remit transfer

You can track your transfers in different ways which include

Online on the world remit portal
On the world remit app, and
Phone call/contact page
How to track your world remit transfer online

Before you can do this, it’s expected that you sign up first of all on the portal

Visit the world remit website, sign up
Log in to your account
Kindly go to “Transfer in progress” at the top of the page, note; you need to have sent money in the first place before you can see any transfer in progress.

From the list of transfers in progress, select the very transfer you wish to track, from this point you can see the transaction status.
World remit tracking using the transfer app

Alternatively, you wish to track your transfer using the Mobile app, kindly follow the below steps

Kindly download the app
Sign up, but as an existing customer kindly log in
From the list of options select transaction in “Progress” from the activity page
Select transaction under review and view status.
World remit tracking via phone call/contact form

You may have to call world remit on 888-722-7771

You can still reach out to customer support using the contact page on the world remit portal.

How to correct world remit receiver details/name, phone number, etc.

In my initial guide on how to send/receive world remit transfer, I reiterated the importance of paying attention to details by the sender while processing the transfer.

These details include;

Receiver name: The receiver's name must be captured correctly as seen on their valid and verifiable ID card in Nigeria or other destination countries.

When the transaction detail goes wrong/contradicts that found on the receiver’s ID in Nigeria, such a person cannot cash out the transfer except such name is being corrected to conform with the ID details.

In this case, first name, middle and last name must appear in the appropriate columns without error of transposition, omission, or commission of any kind.

The receiver’s phone number must be duly captured on the transfer since they’ll be required to receive OTP at the pick-up location, where they could not receive OTP as a result of an error in phone number, such as transfer pick-up will be stalled thus delaying the transfer pick-up.

These factors could lead to tracking your transfer to ascertain its safety and status especially since such transfer has been viewed by the money transfer officer in the bank here in Nigeria.
These are what usually leads to the correction of the receiver’s details on your transfers.

You could change your transfer details by either doing it yourself on the app or you visit the agent location.

Using the world remit app

Log in to the app with your user name and password
Locate the activity page
From the transfers in progress displayed, select the transfer you wish to correct its details
Select the need to change something, it’s a link on your app
From here you can edit your transfer (change the recipient name/phone number as the case may be)

An email/SMS will be sent to your contact to confirm this change. Where your transfer is not in status you can alter you will be informed accordingly.

If your transfer was sent from an agent location, kindly visit the agent with your transfer details, then communicate the actual receiver order and your transfer will be corrected.

Frequently asked questions

Worldremit transaction/tracking number

This refers to an eight-digit reference number/order number that houses the transfer

World remit tracking app

Tracking app is an application that aids world remit tracking

World remit status in progress

When the status shows in progress, it means the money is still available for pick-up

Conclusion

You may commence your world remit tracking online, on the app, or via call and the contact form. Whichever means you choose, ensure to keep the transaction details handy since you will need them for the correction.

CareerRe: Why Did You Leave Your Last Job? by Donraqh(m): 10:38am On Jun 06, 2021
franchasng:
Most Nigerians are lazy to be honest and that is why Nigeria is struggling economically. We all want a job that will pay us 1million naira a month and our job role will be to be pressing computer from 9am to 5pm, monday to friday, and on the 25th of the month, they will pay us 1million Naira.

Once you are made a manager or supervisor in Nigeria, it automatically means you are not supposed to do any work again, you become overnight boss bossing every employee around to do the job....

The maintenance manager in a Nigerian company will never touch the spanner, will never know how to loosen a bolt, will never know how to apply grease......that is the Nigerian failed, lazy work setting....but I tell you guys, it is not like that abroad. If you are the manager in a company in Europe, Asia, or even USA, you are the one that will lead the work...you work more than your subordinates not pressing computer and browsing fine girls on Facebook and booking hotels and flights and be forming boss like all Nigerian managers and head of departments do, and reason Nigerian firms don't last more than 50 years.

If you have a relation or close friend that live outside Africa, ask them the work ethics of Asians, Americans, Europeans, etc. You must work for your pay...you must justify the hour you are paid for.

Haven't you guys wondered why your friends and relatives living abroad hardly have time to answer your calls or engage in frivolities like those working in Nigeriahuh It is because they work their pay!!

If you doubt me, try and travel out of Nigeria and work....then you will realize that Nigerians are not working, they just want to be paid huge without working for it.
Let me pretend you made this post for eye service. I can only believe your signature, it made a summary of who you are.

Please shift let's pass for.

3. Another sin was stopping Yari from singlehandly picking a successor and shutting out Marafa and his faction in Zamfara.

Nairaland GeneralRe: Rescue Anambra/nnewi From This Calamity by Donraqh(op): 5:17pm On Jul 24, 2020
Donraqh:
Before Nnewi finally Dies!

The below picture refers; It’s with great dismay, sadness, annoyance and disapproval that attention has been so drawn to the on-going activities of the Men and Women of the Nigeria Police Force in Anambra state, particularly Nnewi the commercial hub of the state.

Being the commercial hub of the state, it’s no news that Nnewi is the home of Motorcycle spare parts.

Aside the spare parts, you can find a good number of motorcycles roaming the rugged roads of the town, I can assure you their numbers out sums that, found in any of the Nigerian cities, states or locality.

Going by a data released in 2005, Nnewi Metropolitan area and its satellite towns is home to nearly 2.5 million residents. Make no mistake about that please.

Suffix it to say that each home/family in the commercial city of Nnewi averages at least two motorcycles. This should convey a better understanding of what a routine Nnewi road looks like in a day.

Sequel to the aforesaid subject of this piece, consequently with the above data, it feels so safe to reiterate that some members of the Nigeria Police Force have totally changed the GOAL POST from what their daily routine/duty entails in Anambra/Nnewi and its environs.

The primary duties of the Nigeria Police include but not limited to

Security of lives and properties
Preventing crime
Detection of crime
Maintaining of law and order in the society.
Enforcing arrest where necessary and more.
While the above stands, there is also a traffic arm of the Nigeria Police.

The duties of the Nigeria Police/traffic wardens which is aimed to work for the interest of the residence of Nnewi and its public is becoming vague as residents have begun to feel nauseating about the ways and manners they go about their duties.

Citing the major traffic points at the commercial city of Nnewi namely: Izuchukwu roundabout, Ibeto junction a drive to the bank road with a connection to the popular Nnamdi Azikiwe University Teaching Hospital, traffic light connecting the out sketch of Umudim and Otolo communities respectively, then comes Maria Regina Secondary school gate Nnobi road.

A close visit to these points in the peak of the day will sure leave you in a monumental state of worry, discomfort and sadness, especially the Ibeto Junction cited at the hearth of the popular Nkwo Nnewi market.

Members of the police authority deployed to this busy hub, instead of helping in decongesting the junction of numerous traffic, they are seen impounding cyclists from the traffic, hence extorting them in the name of one irrelevant, but yet a useless offence or the other.

Make no mistake to say they now have a daily target of amount of money they must make from these innocent citizens, while derailing their major cause of duty.

As if the Titanic is not sinking enough, they go as long as laying ambush just to apprehend unsuspecting passerby’s during the less busy hours of this junction.

Their corrupt web has no exception to category or class of preys it impounds.

In one occasion, an old granny was impounded, forced to alert, her body was shaking uncontrollably for she’s full of age, then pack her food items stuck in her motorcycle basket, which apparently was heading home to make a meal for herself to at least feed.

You then ask, “Where is the milk of human kindness in human?.”

The Global hunger effect of the COVID-19 Pandemic is damn much on Nigerians/Nnewi residents, and should not be allowed to go through this untold hardship in the hands of this select men and women of the Nigeria Police Force.

The below picture was taken in one of those encounters to drive this point home.

I wish to state that this outcry represents the many voices of Nnewi residents, the poor and feeble Anambrarians, they have sobbed so much and hereby calling on;

Nzukora Nnewi, The Anambra state Commissioner of Police, Nnewi Divisional Police Officers/Headquarters to as a matter of urgency give a holistic attention to their outcry and put a stop to this madness indefinitely.

Please, show a support to humanity and a progressive living by sharing this piece till it gets to the appropriate quarters and all concerned.

“Ndi Anambra lives matter.”
Moderators please help move this to front page, till it gets to all concerned.
