PoliticsFG Vows To Reveal Boko Haram’s Sponsors by DONSMITH123(op): 4:33pm On Jun 07, 2016
The Attorney-General of the Federation, AGF, and Minister of Justice, Abubakar Malami has stated that the federal government will go after sponsors of Boko Haram insurgents, stressing that investigation into that has since begun with a view to unraveling the root cause of the insurgency.
Malami spoke through a Director in the Ministry of Justice, Mrs Lola Eket, while addressing members of a group identified as Lawyers United for Equality and Human Rights Advocacy, who were on a peaceful protest to the Ministry.

He maintained that Boko Haram could not have gone to the extent they got if there were no strong sponsors of the terrorists, disclosing that a Judicial Commission of Inquiry would be set in motion to unravel how the menace found its way into the country.

“In the past, no Nigerian will commit suicide under any persuasion, and the way they have sustained onslaught against the state since they started, it seems they were being sponsored and I assure all of you that Judicial Commission of Inquiry would be set up to investigate where sponsorship of Boko Haram were coming from,” the AGF said.

Leading the protest of about 100 members, the Convener, Barrister Samson Esekhaigbe, in his address, called for the arraignment and prosecution of Boko Haram sponsors, who he said should be charged to the International Criminal Court for the death of those killed by the terrorists.

“Part of the reason we are concerned was the mistakes of the past where government relaxed in prosecution of heinous act which in our reasoning was responsible for emergence militancy afresh,” he stated.

“A situation where over 10,000 people have been senselessly killed was alarming and so far there was no sign of prosecution at the International Criminal Court,” he added.

PoliticsYou Have No Legal Right To Petition Governor Bello – Tribunal Tells Faleke by DONSMITH123(op): 1:05pm On Jun 06, 2016
Kogi State Election Tribunal sitting in Abuja on Monday said the running mate to deceased All Progressives Congress, APC, governorship candidate in the November 21, 2015 election in Kogi State, James Faleke lacks the legal right to challenge the emergence of Governor Yahaya Bello.
Justice Halima Mohammed-led three-man panel held that Faleke does not have the “locus standi” to file the petition.

The tribunal held that the party nominated Bello and not Faleke as Audu’s replacement and as such, it lacked the jurisdiction to question internal process of the party leading to the nomination for Audu’s replacement.

Falake had filed a petition before the election tribunal asking that Bello’s emergence as the party’s governorship candidate was unlawful.

He urged the tribunal to declare that the election conducted by the Independent Electoral Commission, INEC, before Audu’s death was already won and that he had already emerged as the deputy governor-elect.

Faleke also urged the tribunal to declare him as the authentic replacement for the late Audu and be returned as the governor-elect.

PoliticsSoldiers Return To Oporoza In Delta State by DONSMITH123(op): 12:12pm On Jun 06, 2016
By Emma Amaize, Egufe Yafugborhi, Perez Brisibe and Akpokona Omafuaire

SOLDIERS went back to Oporoza community, traditional headquarters of Gbaramatu Kingdom, Warri South-West Local Government Area, Delta State, Monday morning, less than 72 hours after they ended a six-day siege to the riverside town.

A source, who spoke to Vanguard at 6.40 am, said: “The soldiers are scattered all over the community, they are moving from place to place, we do not know what they came to do again.” “Most of the young people fled into the bush again, but some women and elderly ones, who could not run waited behind to know what they came for this time around. I am seeing about 50 soldiers, though I am not sure of the exact number,” he said.

A security source, who wondered why there was fuss over soldiers performing their lawful duty, asserted: “There is nothing wrong in soldiers going back to Oporoza if they got more intelligence information on the perpetrators and their modus operandi.” Vanguard learned that soldiers searched the Oporoza Guesthouse, which they ransacked earlier and other strategic places. Former militant leader, Government Ekpumupolo, alias Tompolo, who some persons fingered in the ongoing attacks by Niger Delta Avengers, NDA, despite his strong denials, had his space in the lodge turned upside down in the previous visit.

Ijaw leader, Chief Godspower Gbenekama, confirmed to Vanguard that soldiers stormed Oporoza earlier today, but at about 7.57 am, another leader from the area, Piniki Azaiye, hinted” They just left now without harassing anybody.” Details later

PoliticsNiger Delta Avengers Working For PDP – APC by DONSMITH123(op): 10:05am On Jun 06, 2016
The All Progressives Congress, APC, South-South Chapter, has accused the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, of collaborating with a militant group, Niger Delta Avengers to destabilise the nation.
The zonal arm of the ruling party also distanced the Niger Delta region from the Biafra agitation, saying the South-South will never be a part of the struggle.

This was contained in a communiqué issued by the party’s stakeholders at the end of a meeting in Benin city, Edo state capital.

According to the ruling party’s stakeholders, they described the resurgence of militancy in the Niger Delta as an attempt to distract the President Muhammadu Buhari- led Federal Government.

The communiqué reads, “The zone notes the upsurge of the renewed militancy in the area, in the name of ‘The Avengers’ and condemns its activities in its entirety. The zone does not believe that their nefarious activities are driven by any patriotic fervor, rather we have cause to believe that they are instigated by the opposition Peoples Democratic Party to derail President Buhari’s government in order to avoid the long arm of the law on their criminal activities while in government.

“The zone notes the present agitation for the state of Biafra and the inclusion of the Niger Delta in the map of the constituency representing the Biafra state and states unequivocally that Niger Delta is not, cannot, will never be and can never be part of Biafra.”

PoliticsNigerians Will Beg APC To Stay On In 2019 – Momoh by DONSMITH123(op): 11:13am On Jun 03, 2016
Former minister of Information, and erstwhile National Chairman of the defunct Congress for Progressive Change, CPC, Prince Tony Momoh has declared that within a year or two, Nigerians will be celebrating the Buhari-led administration, adding that by 2019, APC will be begged to continue to lead the country.
Momoh was speaking in an interview with the Daily Sun on Thursday.

He said, “If you see what has happened, what Buhari said he will do, he will fight corruption, he will create jobs, he will face agriculture and of course, he will fight insurgency.”

He said the President was a very predictable person, adding that the country was safe under his watch.

He added, “He will secure this country. He will do anything to secure this country. In other words, he will fight insurgency, he will fight hostage taking, he will fight armed robbery; he will fight anybody who wants to undermine Nigeria’s economy.”

“He will even fight those cattle rustlers and other people who are undermining other communities by destroying their hosts.”

Momoh noted that only a secured country will be making development plan, adding that stabilizing the country through infrastructural development had been difficult due to multiple security issues.

He said, “Security, plus stability will give us prosperity. There is no magic about it and that is what Buhari has been doing.

“When he started, about 14 local government areas were in the hands of Boko Haram. Now, the Boko Haram is not in control of any local government area.

“Secondly, you will see how much is being given to capital expenditure. I don’t know if we ever gave that much to capital expenditure in our recent history.

He also noted that the war on corruption has been massive as well as productive.

The APC leader pointed out that due to the involvement of some persons in oil industry, the sector has not done really well, adding that a cartel had been diverting and sharing the country’s money, which according to him, called for the removal of the fuel subsidy and liberalization of the down stream sector.

He explained “Then you will see the war on corruption. I think the latest you can look at is this fuel subsidy.

“You know that it’s a cartel that has been routinely sharing our patrimony through diverting the little we have to buying fuel, bringing it and people just sharing it.

“The area of capital development, that’s stabilizing the system is also going to be celebrated within one year.

“Look at the roads that will be built; even the money he put on the second Niger bridge in the South East and lots of other areas that will be empowered.

“This feeding of school children will be a massive empowering programme. There is hardly any area in this country where there is no public school. You know what it means to feed school children once a day – the millions of eggs you will need; the amount of vegetables, rice, everything.”

Asked if he was not worried about the APC led administration which has come under heavy criticism following the hardship being experienced in the country, a shrinking economy, a dropping GDP and what will be the fate of the APC in future elections, he said,

“I agree with you. Nobody likes to suffer.

“That’s why I said within a year or two, you will celebrate us. In fact by 2019, they will be begging us to continue in power.

“If by 2019, we have thousands of people who are empowered because of the economic programme we have, you think those who are empowered will not vote for us?

“That’s why I’m saying we have to attend to certain things. They are painful. But we plead for patience. Within a year or two, Nigerians will be celebrating Buhari,” he concluded.

What an insult, if my brother, our great hero Chief (Dr) Goodluck Ebele Azikiwe Jonathan, the Jesus of our time cannot clean our land for good bad years that he was president, then I will remain in my oil polluted land and continue to live in filth and dirt rather than for an illiterate Fulani man to clean my polluted land. PoliticsOgoni Clean-up: Jonathan Made A Mistake – Traditional Ruler by DONSMITH123(op): 3:44pm On Jun 02, 2016
The President of the Ogoni Council of Traditional Rulers, King Godwin Giniwa has declared that former President, Goodluck Jonathan made a terrible “mistake” for ignoring the UNEP report.
The paramount ruler of the Ogoni kingdom, King Giniwa said this while making his remark during the launch of the Ogoni clean-up programme held in Gokana Local government area of Rivers state.

While describing Jonathan as an easy-going man, the Paramount ruler expressed shock that Ogonis were neglected during his administration.

He urged the people of Ogoni to appreciate President Mohammadu Buhari who is keeping his promise.

King Godwin Giniwa urged the Federal government to carry out effective clean-up of Ogoni.

According to him, “Many times, I met with the former President. And each time we met and he asked me what I wanted, I tell him to come and help us clean our land. But nothing was done. He is my son and I like him, but he made a big mistake. He made a mistake for ignoring the Ogoni people.

“But when I met with this current Federal government led by Buhari, he gave me his word and here we are today.

“I want to appeal to you (Federal government) to please employ our people. Please, appoint one of our own into your cabinet so we can feel your impact.”

The paramount ruler also announced the installation of a Chieftaincy title, Mene-Nuale on President Mohammadu Buhari.

FamilyMy Wife Is A Shameless Evangelist, Fights In Street Half Unclad–Man Tells Court by DONSMITH123(op): 10:59am On Jun 02, 2016
An Igando Customary Court sitting in Lagos state on Wednesday dissolved the marriage between a 42-year-old pastor and evangelist, Mrs. Aduwo Racheal and her businessman husband, Mr. Joseph Aduwo.
The couple, who have been married for 10 years, is said to have been engaged in frequent fighting and unresolved marital crises.

The petitioner, Aduwo, had approached the court seeking the dissolution of the marriage with his wife who he described as a street fighter.

The 59-year-old man told the court, “My wife one day engaged in fights from 8am to 11pm and residents were begging her to stop but she refused.

“I also pleaded with her but instead she cursed me and I was ashamed of myself.

“I had to take her pictures with my phone when she was fighting in the public with only brassier and sent the pictures to her family,” he added.

Continuing, he said “My wife, who is a pastor, an evangelist, a church interpreter and women leader, fought with nine persons in a day on our street, wearing only bra and underpants.

“She is a shameless street fighter so the dissolution of the 10-year-old marriage is good riddance to bad rubbish.”

Racheal, on her part, denied the allegations, saying: “I used to prepare food in the morning, afternoon and evening for my husband. The court should not grant his request for a divorce as I still love him.”

The President of the court, Mr. Adegboyega Omilola, who gave the verdict, said “You are free to go your separate ways without hindrances and molestation.”

Omilola said he was convinced the couple could no longer live together as the petitioner insisted on divorce after several unsuccessful interventions.

In his ruling, the court president said, “The court has no choice than to dissolve the union in spite of the fact that the wife claims she still loves her husband.

“The court hereby pronounces the marriage between Joseph Aduwo and Racheal dissolved today; both parties henceforth cease to be husband and wife.”

At the rate at which PDP is apologizing left and right,we might soon run out of apologies to borrow them.

Last week, they were apologizing on behalf of Metuh, who mistook Nigeria's 400 Million Naira for his father's inheritance.

Today, the PDP is apologizing on behalf of the Ibadan Poly illiterate Graduate/Bus Driver, who is known for dancing Naked with the Hunters in Ekiti State.

The PDP has a lot of Apologies to make to Nigerians.

They should apologize for looting us to the ground for 16 Years.

They should apologize for even giving us Patience Jonathan.

They should apologize for legitimizing corruption.

They should apologize for killing our economy.

They should apologize for even being in Power at Any time.

They should apologize for Dasuki.

They should apologize for sending our Soldiers to die with only Cutlass as weapons in Sambisa.

In short, they should apologize for even apologizing at all.
