Operatives of the Department of State Services, DSS, and men of the Nigerian Prisons Service, DSS, returned the leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra, IPOB, back to Kuje Prison after he was granted bail by an Abuja Federal High Court. The decision shows that until Kanu meets his bail condition, he cannot be set free. Kanu alongside three other pro-Biafra agitators were whisked away in a green prisons vehicle escorted by four other black hilux vans carrying men of the secret police.Recall that the Justice Binta Nyako-led Court had earlier granted the IPOB leader bail on health grounds. In her ruling, the judge had ordered Kanu to provide three sureties one of who must be a serving senator, a jewish religious leader and highly respected person. She held that they must own property anywhere in Abuja, but put the bail bond at N100 million for each surety. Justice Nyako also ordered the IPOB leader never to grant any press interview pending the outcome of his trial. Noting that Kanu should not be in a gathering of more than 10 persons, the judge warned that the bail granted the IPOB leader would be revoked if any of the orders are flouted. http://dailypost.ng/2017/04/25/biafra-nnamdi-kanu-returns-kuje-prison-despite-granted-bail/

I don't blame anyone traveling out of the country for medical attention.
Its better to visit harbalist sometimes than nigerian doctors who only know how to prescribe malaria drugs.

Politics › Isiaka Adeleke's Doctor Arrested Over Prescribed Drugs by DONSMITH123(op): 9:43am On Apr 25, 2017 |
One Dr. Ade, who treated Senator Isiaka Adeleke, when he complained of leg pain early Sunday morning has been arrested for interrogation by the police.
One of his aides made the confirmation to newsmen on Monday.
He said the doctor was arrested on Monday, following the report that Adeleke died as a result of an overdose of medications he administered on him.
This is as the report of the post mortem is being awaited.
DAILY POST gathered that the result will not be made public anytime soon due to the sensitive nature of the situation.
Many still believe that the late politician was poisoned, insisting he was hale and hearty on Saturday during the social functions he attended.
Adeleke was said to have received guests until around 2:00am on Sunday before he slept.
Recall that Ogun State Governor, Ibikunle Amosun, on Monday, prevented a crowd of sympathisers at the Ede, Osun State, country home of late Adeleke, from lynching Ms Idia Babalola, Special Adviser to Osun State Governor, Rauf Aregbesola.
As at press time, the police in Osun State have neither confirmed nor refuted report of the doctor’s arrest.
Meanwhile, Rauf Aregbesola, Osun State Governor, has personally reacted to the death of Senator Isiaka Adeleke.
Adeleke died on Sunday and was buried on Monday according to Islamic rites. http://dailypost.ng/2017/04/25/isiaka-adeleke-doctor-prescribed-drugs-arrested/

Ramon OladimejiThe Federal High Court in Lagos on Monday struck out the N100m fundamental rights enforcement suit filed by a former Minister of State for Defence, Musiliu Obanikoro, against the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission. Obanikoro, his wives, Fati and Moroophat, and his sons, Gbolahon and Babajide, had sued the anti-graft agency for what they termed an unlawful invasion of their houses and seizure of some of their properties. They had, through their lawyer, Mr. Lawal Pedro (SAN), urged the court to declare as null and void the items seized from their houses on June 14, 2016 by the EFCC. They also prayed the court to award N100m damages against the EFCC in their favour for the violation of their rights to privacy. But in a ruling on Monday, Justice Abdulaziz Anka struck out Obanikoro’s suit for being incompetent. The judge upheld the preliminary objection by the EFCC lawyer, E.E. Iheanacho, who contended that “since the main claim of the applicants was founded on tort, their principal reliefs are not maintainable under the Fundamental Rights (Enforcement Procedure) Rules, 2009.” The judge noted that the applicants’ houses were searched by the EFCC based on search warrants secured by the anti-graft agency from the Lagos State Magistrates’ Court. Justice Anka said he could not declare the recovered items as null and void, so as not to foreclose the possibility of the EFCC tendering them as exhibits in imminent criminal case against the Obanikoros. http://punchng.com/breaking-court-strikes-out-obanikoros-n100m-suit-against-efcc/

Family › Divorcee Asks For Wedding Expense Refund To Enable Him Remarry by DONSMITH123(op): 5:58pm On Apr 21, 2017 |
A divorcee, Yusuf Saidu, on Friday approached an Upper Area Court at Karu in Abuja to seek refund of the money he spent on the wedding of his former wife.
Saidu is pleading with the court to compel his ex-wife, Habiba, to refund approximately N400,000 he allegedly spent on their wedding three years ago to enable him marry a new wife.
He told the court that he and Habiba got married in 2014 and that Habiba got tired of the union early this year and divorced him.
Saidu said before the dissolution of the marriage, they had relocated to Abuja from Kaduna State, but that Habiba sued him at a court in Kaduna.
“My lord, I need the exact sum of N400,000 to marry a new wife.
“I don’t want any amount less than that because the marriage did not last long and for the money I spent not to be a waste, I need full refund.
“We were also blessed with a two-year-old boy. I want to have his custody.
“I am not the one that said I am tired of the marriage but my ex-wife; so, I need full refund of all my expenses during the wedding,’’ Saidu pleaded.
Counsel to the respondent, Mr. Abidan Aminu, noted that his client received the court summons with shock.
He told the court that the marriage was dissolved by a Sharia Court in Kawo, Kaduna State, last month.
“The summons is coming less than a month when the court at Kawo granted my client’s request on grounds of gross domestic violence visited on her.
“The court also awarded the sum of N 70,000 as compensation to be paid by my client to the plaintiff, being the exact amount of dowry paid on her.
“She had paid the money through the court.
“I was also surprised to find out from the court in Kaduna that he refused to come and pick up the N70,000 until we were served this summons in Abuja.
“Another surprising thing is that he did not heed the advice of the court to appeal its judgment at the Sharia Court of Appeal in Kaduna and he failed to also seek legal knowledge on the issue. ’’
Aminu urged the court to award Habiba N20,000 as compensation for expenses and inconveniences caused to her by the actions of Saidu.
However, the judge, Abdullahi Baba, in his ruling, struck out the case for lack of merit.
Baba said that the matter was filed at the court as a fresh matter and that was why it was entertained.
He advised Saidu to seek redress on the matter in the state where the divorce was granted.
“You (plaintiff) are not supposed to bring this matter here since it started in another state.
“I am certain that the judge of the Sharia Court in Kaduna would have told you in his judgment that you have a right to appeal within 30 days that the judgment was given.
“If you are not clear with any language of the court, seek professional opinion.
“I will advise you to go back to Kaduna where the matter started and appeal at the Sharia Court of appeal if you are not satisfied with the judgment given,’’ Baba ruled.
He, however, did not award any compensation to Habiba. http://punchng.com/divorcee-asks-for-wedding-expense-refund-to-enable-him-remarry/
