Sagamite:
Your argument is credible by-and-large but I was uncomfortable with the following parts

There have been changes in the squad and formation since Amodu, he has also won games, brought more discipline and solidified our defence. I don't think it is easy to say he has no long term plans just because we do not like the present quality football being played, it might actually be the temporary result of the changes specified in the plan.

In my opinion, only 4 local coaches have the pedigree to be worthy of leading the SE. And they are, in the following order of worthiness:

1) Samson Siasia
2) Stephen Keshi
3) Shaibu Amodu
4) Kadiri Ikhana

Any other local coaches, in my opinion, is a scandal.

I think you are adding spice when you said Siasia has coached in other countries and was successful. I don't think coaching U-12s in regional competitions count, neither does it peer equitably with a non-SA African coach headhunted to lead one of the leading clubs in the SA league that could easily have afforded a foreign coach with the sum they paid Shaibu.

Also, even Mourinho, Scolari, Lippi, Hiddink etc have been sacked before, so saying he was sacked is not a strong enough argument to discredit is ability. Also, if I remember correctly, he lasted 2 years in the role, he surely can not be that bad since it is very easy to sack black coaches.

I think most of these is conjectual.

What makes you think Amodu is a yes man? Is it the same man that stood his ground in 2002 against the FA and lost his chance of taking SE to WC?

What makes you think the that the NFA did not choose Amodu over Siasia so as not to derail our Olympic plans?

In regards to your Klinsmann analogy and saying that is the kind of coach we need, are you saying then that the likes of Ferguson, Hiddink, Scolari etc are not qualified to lead the SE? I don't think fitness of a coach is a valid enough point.
Bros anyone who plays, watches, and understands football well would know after watching Nigeria's last few games including the friendlies would know that the manager is highly unintelligent and doesn't know how to read a football match or motivate his team. Those dudes were playing like pregnant women. In all the games, he's been tactically outclassed by the opposing managers. Even in the kenya game, they were rubbish. They were just lucky that those wankers couldn't take their chances when they had theirs. I'm not one to call for the heads of managers but this guy should go. He's had about 6-7 games to prove himself and its still the same ol tactless strategies he brings out during the games. Also some of those players need to be axed from the squad, they need new fitness coaches and some young hungry blood needs to be brought into the squad. I second redman44's comments about siasia being a no nonsense person and comparing him to klinsman. That's exactly what the super eagles need.

You said something about them not trying to derail olympic plans. Please if u were asked if you would prefer Nigeria to crash out of the group stage of olympics and get to the semi finals of the world cup, would you take that or you'd prefer Nigeria winning the olympic gold and crashing out of the group stages of world cup. If Nigeria needs to become a force to be reckoned with in football, they need to start doing what they did in in the mid/late 90s when teams were scared to play against us and we all looked forward to seein the Super eagles play. As far as i'm concerned, if a good scout goes round d streets of lagos and picks some random chaps, this present SE team would only be slightly better than them even if they are better.

I just pray we don't qualify and fail to give account of ourselves cos we'll stand a good chance of securing a 3 figure position in the world ranking.

PoliticsRe: Thisday Corrects Self On "Pastor Adeboye's" Jet by donugapi(m): 4:05pm On Apr 02, 2009
If a pastor buys a jet, whose business is it?
If the money he used is legit and not stolen church money or any other form of stolen church money. We have a backward mentality in this county. People buy private jets for convenience. And given the man's heavy travel schedule, that's the only proper thing to do. Some people just believe that since he's a man of God buying a jet does not potray humility which shouldn't be the case.

TV/MoviesRe: Jenifa the. blockbuster by donugapi(m): 1:54pm On Feb 21, 2009
Whether the movie is good or not should not be imposed on others. Different people have their different opinions on the same movies. If you're a comedy lover, understand the accent and what they were trying to bring out from the movie. Yes the quality was crap, but the movie made me laugh hard even though I'm not yoruba. Whether you guys like it or not, the movie has made the girl a very popular household name and would have fetched her loads of cash (cos i heard she did the movie herself, please correct me if i'm wrong). I'm too sure people wouldn't even know her real name and when she walks on the street people would be shouting Jenifa and hailing her. So whether the movie was good or bad, that doesn't matter any more cos d babe is enjoying her cash!!!
PoliticsRe: Fashola Shuts Aswani Market by donugapi(m): 6:01pm On Jan 23, 2009
So many of these arguments are silly. Truth is that most of those traders actually have other places/shops where they sell. That market only operates on tuesdays and they come there on such days and go selling at their other locations during the rest of the week. If people think their lives are finished cos they've been stopped from selling goods on the express then that's a very stupid way to reason. They were given warnings before hand and they chose not to heed to the warnings.
BusinessRe: Entire Computer Village Shut Down Over Tax by donugapi(m): 3:40pm On Nov 22, 2008
This damola guy must be so foolish and caught up in his own little box. Even a 7 year old in lagos would tell you that you should pay tax. He doesn't have to go there to tell them. There have been lots of adverts in newspapers, on radio, TV and even billboards in lagos. No disrespect to anyone but d average lagosian knows that some of those guys are even crooks and sell fake stuff to people. Fashola is not stupid, he won't just shut down the place like that without having his facts. I think you're d stupid one. In your next life, try running a country and allow the people earn money without paying tax if that's how you like it. Punk
PoliticsRe: Nigeria's Economy Under Threat As Oil Falls Below $50 A Barrel by donugapi(m): 2:53pm On Nov 22, 2008
In a way, i think Nigeria can benefit from this in the long run if things go our way. At least this will teach the leaders a lesson to learn not to make the oil industry our only source of income. If they think well (which i doubt) and I hope they do, diversifying the economy would be better for us and in the event that oil prices pick up again, it could be a win-win situation for us. God dey sha.

Its just so sad the generation of our fathers have failed us upcoming nigerians. Its up to us to try to stop this evil. It all begins with the individual. If every nigerian decides to shun every corrupt act, nothing stop nigeria from movin forward.

My man am sorry you have just discovered it. THAT BANK IS F*%$D UP!!!! I personally feel those guys should pack their bags return peoples money and shut down. Infact the only reason they're still surviving is because of the oil companies that use their accounts. In the event that those companies pull their accounts out of there, that bank is doomed. They give customers hell, their staff are 95% igbo, they dress like they're from the 1930s, their banking halls stink, their network is forever down and the list goes on and on,

CareerRe: Female, Wants To Be An Engineer? by donugapi(m): 3:37pm On Jun 26, 2008
Girl I think you should take it easy before you make your choice.
Later in future, you might want to move into another field of engineering you find interesting at the time or a new field which might just be emerging. You have to know your strengths. Your mathematics and your love for it has to be superb cos once you make the decision to study engineering, that's the language you'll be interacting in for the rest of your career(Or a major part if you decide to go into management later). But one thing i can assure you is that throughout school you would be involved in a lot of mathematical courses. Some may me walkovers, some could be very challenging. But as long as you put your mind to it and believe you can do it, you won't have any problems at all.

I have always admired female engineers and i still do. Go on girl, I wish you all the best!!!!

I think you have to be there yourself in abuja. But if u guys have very long legs then you don't have to be there. Som people don't even move from where they are and they get the certificates brought to them. Just ask them to find out for you.
