No amount of white washing can blind people to the atrocities being carried out in the name of islam.
If islam were to be a religion of peace, why do people get scared whenever someone screams allahu akbar in a crowded place that is not a mosque?

“The Qur’an Teaches that all Life is Sacred”
(Qur’an, Verse 5:32)

The Muslim Game:

In an effort to portray their religion as non-violent, Muslim apologists vigorously employ verse 5:32, which would appear to promote a universal principal that all life is sacred to Allah - especially the way it is typically quoted by apologists:

"…if any one slew a person… it would be as if he slew a whole people; and if any one saved a life, it would be as if he saved the life of a whole people…"
(As quoted by the Fiqh Council of North America in their ultimately meaningless “Fatwa against Terrorism”)
The Truth:

This fragment of verse 5:32 is what the apologists want non-Muslims to believe is in the Qur’an, as opposed to the dozens of other open-ended passages that command warfare, beheadings and torture. But even what they usually quote from 5:32 isn’t quite how it appears. Remember all those ellipses? There's something being left out.

Here’s the full text of the verse:

“On that account: We ordained for the Children of Israel that if any one slew a person - unless it be for murder or for spreading mischief in the land - it would be as if he slew the whole people: and if any one saved a life, it would be as if he saved the life of the whole people. Then although there came to them Our messengers with clear signs, yet, even after that, many of them continued to commit excesses in the land.”
First, notice the gaping loophole. Killing is allowed in cases of murder or “for spreading mischief in the land.” Murder is pretty straightforward, but “spreading mischief?” If anything begged for a careful and precise explanation, this phrase certainly would. But generations of Muslims are left to apply their own interpretation of what “mischief” means - with varying standards. Violating Sharia law or sharing a different religious faith appears to qualify. Verse 7:103 of the Quran even indicates that merely rejecting Muhammad and the Quran counts as "mischief".

Secondly, note the broader context of this verse. It turns out that this isn’t a divine command to Muslims after all. It’s a recounting of a rule that was given to the Jews. It isn’t an admonition against killing. It’s an indictment against the Jews for violating the law given to them. “Any one” doesn’t mean “anyone,” but rather “any one” of the Jews.

Any application to Muslims would have to apply only to Muslims - as in Muslim on Muslim murder within the brotherhood of believers. In fact, the context of the verse is the murder of Abel by Cain. Historically, this verse has never been interpreted by Islamic scholars to mean that Allah places equal value on the lives of non-Muslims. The Quran says that restitution for murder is bound by the law of equality (2:178) and that non-believers are not equal to Muslims (39:09). Muhammad affirmed that while a Muslim may be punished with death for killing a fellow Muslim, they should never be slain for killing a non-believer.

Rather than encouraging tolerance, Sura 5 as a whole is actually an incitement of hatred with a hint of violence. Jews and Christians are explicitly cursed as ‘wicked’ people with ‘diseased hearts’ and as hateful ‘blasphemers’ respectively. Muhammad goes on to coyly remind his people that Allah loves those who “fight” in his service - and it’s fairly obvious who the enemy is.

Muslim apologists conveniently leave out the fact that the gruesome verse which follows 5:32 actually mandates killing in the case of the aforementioned “mischief”. It even suggests crucifixion and “the cutting off of hands and feet from opposite sides.”

Although verse 5:32 recounts the law given to Jews, the verse that follows is clearly intended for Muslims. Verse 5:33 provides the basis for blasphemy laws, in which people are executed for insulting or questioning Islam. Ironically then, the very part of the Quran that apologists use to portray Islam as a non-violent religion has long been used as justification for making verbal offense into a capital crime.

So, the Quran's best example of moral instruction is a passage which actually mandates the torture and execution of those deemed a threat to Islamic hegemony...

With this being the best that Islam has to offer, it’s not hard to guess why the religion contributes over a thousand deadly terrorist attacks to the world each and every year.
IslamRe: Is Terrorism A Muslim Monopoly? by dorox(m): 5:19pm On Jun 02, 2013
Anyhow you slice it, Islam is clearly a whacked up religion. The more you try to practice it in it's pure form the more inhumane you become. It is a religion badly in need of a reform to remain relevant in the 21st century.

All of which indicates that the evolutionary scenario, which assumes that human populations have been on the earth for about a million years, is absurd. The whole universe could not hold all the people! HMM
Pick up any introductory maths and statistics book to educate yourself about population modelling before using bad science to defend the bible, it only gives the atheist more reasons to ridicule your faith and remain unbelievers.
If you had bothered to do a little research, you would know that the exponential model for population growth is only used when the population level relative to resource and habitat is very low and at short time frame.
For longer duration and at higher population size, the more reliable logistic model is used to model population growth because it takes accounts of natural constraints like resource competition, predators, disease, etc that helps to keep the population at equilibrium level.

If both of them cannot be on the bicycle at the same time, at what point would the first rider drop the bicycle for the second person to pick up in order for the both of them to arrive at their destination in the shortest possible time, and how long would that be?
Science/TechnologyRe: What Do You Know About Fuelless Generator? by dorox(m): 8:07pm On May 24, 2013
Ethnan: To begin,I want to state clearly that I also heard it on TV during one of Winner's chapel live telecasta;where one Collins testified of having developed a tractor that also generates electricity after working in d farm for d day. I tried tracking this guy,all to avail but I haven't given up yet. My thinking is this,if someone have already built this, why re-invent d wheel,I will just partner with him. My strong suspicion is that, the leadership of winners has kept it in the cooler and is working seriously underground to churn it out commercially.
Now,how does this machine work? Does it break d law of energy conservation? Imagine you are to hold a piece of 1kg iron just beyond d edge of a table with your hand,d iron being suspended from the table. How long would u hold it before u get tired? One day,one week,?and after which u will need to eat to hold up. Now,u can as well keep a heavy magnet at the edge of this table and it will suspend this iron as lon as we can imagine, without being tired or needing energy refilling. Where is its energy coming from? Its from its magnetic property which is almost 'indestructible'. It means there is an available free energy withi d magnet which can be harnessed with the appropriate arrangement to extract this energy for useful work. Now, energy conservation law is not broken in anyway because what actually provides d energy are d electrons specially oriented to one another within d magnet that keeps d magnet permanently magnetic. therefore, when a strong neodymium permanent magnet is appropriately arranged in a system such that there is a systematic interaction of a high DC voltage and its magnetic field, the output mechanical energy produced as rotary motion is more than 100% of the energy of d high DC voltage applied. It is over 100% because of d energy being supplied by the powerful magnet. In simple terms, if the high DC voltage was supplying 100W of power via a large no of turns of wire appropriately arranged within d magnetic field of a powerful magnet, the output rotary motion could be 250W and considering losses, this could drod to 230W. This rotary motion can then be used to turn an alternator to produce electricity. More losses would occur here and the final output could drop to say 200W,giving us a total efficiency of 200%. This AC electricity can be stepped up via a transformer to say 1000V and rectified to produce 1000DC voltage which is fed back to electric motor described before, therefore giving us a perpetual motion machine.

Now, most Nigerians have got the design wrong because of their general sloppines and non-dilligence which we see exhibited in d get-rich quick attitude. The magnet must be the highest grade of a neodymium magnet, not d type u see in sound speakers! The voltage applied is not just a 12V DC volltage, this won't produce enough interaction capable of producing or extracting the magnetic energy of d neodymium magnet. The least should be 120V DC which may give you about 120% efficient system. A 1000V DC powered system with other proper arrangements and adequate insulation produce upto an 800% efficient system. Remember, 1000V DC voltage is fatal,so great safety measure must be observed in handling this. The conventional electric motor uses the ceramic kind of permanent magnet'd type mostly seen in sound speakers. This magnet is useless when we are takimg about fuelless machines or over unity motors. I do project that it would take me at least two years if I have all financial suppport needed to get this machine commercially available in d market but honestly,I have a good job and a lucrative biz,so I am not motivated to pursue this fully at d moment though I realise this could be a money spinner for anyone who pioneers this commercially. If u ve got any questions, pls feel free to ask.Shalom.
With the rubbish you just posted above, I will advise that you ask the school you got your first class degree in electrical engineering from for a full refund, you learnt nothing there.
Christianity EtcRe: What Are Your Views On Supernatural Occurrences? by dorox(m): 10:18pm On May 01, 2013
Some years back, a friend of mine tried to prove to me that 'jazz' exist by using her personal eye witness account of OPC militants blowing up a building with an explosive egg. After applying a little pressure to her story, she changed it from "i saw it with my two n@ked koro-koro eyes" to "my mother told me she saw it happen right in front of her and I trust my mum not to lie to me." Then I told her to imagine that her mother was standing close to mob of OPC militants intent on causing damage to their rival/enemy's property and possibly life, chanting their war songs in the process, what does she think her mother will do?
Will she tip-toe right behind them and close enough to see that it was an egg that started the fire, or will she face the opposite direction and run for dear life?
It took her a full half of one minute of thinking through what i said to realise that her mother could not have seen an egg explode.

EducationRe: 1.2M JAMB-UTME Candidates Won't Have Admission - FG by dorox(m): 1:02pm On Apr 29, 2013
What Nigeria needs right now is quality and not quantity in education. Nigerians now view a university education as an end in itself rather than a means to end.
Our educational system has become cancerous, churning out half baked graduates in the hundreds of thousands yearly to be employed in jobs that a secondary school graduate given six months on the job training would excel at.
Our society will benefit more if the number of spaces is reduced by a factor of four with a more than corresponding increase in standards.
We surely do not need graduates to fill all the positions available.
It is in Nigerian banks that everybody but cleaners and security guards are graduates.
The way I see it, is for us as society to get very few but capable graduates and a well trained vocational workforce. For example, servicing a gas-turbine does not require any knowledge of differential equations, fluid mechanics and aerodynamics. But designing one does.

IslamIs Islam A Religion Of Peace? by dorox(op):
By any reasonable standard, I think it will be more than a stretch to describe Muhammed(SAW) as a man of peace and compassion. His life story paints a picture of a very bad man bent on the conquest and subjugation of the entire world around him as is evident from numerous quotes such as this from the quran.
Qur'an:47:4 "So, when you clash with the unbelieving Infidels in battle (fighting Jihad in Allah's Cause), smite their necks until you overpower them, killing and wounding many of them. At length, when you have thoroughly subdued them, bind them firmly, making (them) captives. Thereafter either generosity or ransom (them based upon what benefits Islam) until the war lays down its burdens. Thus are you commanded by Allah to continue carrying out Jihad against the unbelieving infidels until they submit to Islam."
He took a pre-teen child bride also known as statutory r@pe, broke peace pact he had with his neighbors, beheaded Jews and conducted lots of war campaign to forcefully spread Islam.
Truth be told, this is not the kind of man you would want as a role model or have as a neighbor, this is the kind of guy you would want to be locked up behind bars like a dangerous animal in the interest of public safety.
His followers today, at least those who attempt to follow his example are no better, they are a constant source of embarrassment to the touchy-feeling, soft spoken not so good muslims that refuse to obey the quran when it's inconvenient to do so.
Jesus said that a slave cannot be greater than his master, so my question is: since Muhammed(SAW) was not a man of peace, can we expect muslims that see him as a role model to be peaceable?

Can you tell us the kind of punishment God will give to ungodly people on the day of judgement according to the scripture. Pls answer.
Unless it has changed, is the wages of sin no longer death?
Christianity EtcRe: Why Did God Create Satan? by dorox(m):
I will start by clarifying what I think it means for something or someone to be good or perfect as is used in the bible.
In the Genesis account of creation, you would notice that God never stopped what he was doing until it was good. Good in this sense is relative, it means being fit for purpose within a defined boundary. Take for example the gill of a fish, it is perfect for respiration in water but useless in air. Adam was created perfect, he was never to taste death for as long as he remained loyal to God, but would he have remained alive if submerged in water for extended period of time? Look no further than what happened to Jesus for your answer. Jesus was perfect just like Adam, the bible called him the last Adam, he was never sick, would not have aged and died if left alone. But when subjected to conditions beyond his design limits, he died. Only God is perfect in the absolute sense, every other usage of the word is in the relative sense.
Humans aside, the earth is perfect, it is fit for its purpose, to harbour and sustain life. True, you have earthquakes and volcanic eruptions every now and then, but without plate tectonics the earth would be lifeless. Take out the predators in the African Savannah and watch as the population of the grazers goes in overshoot with subsequent collapse of the ecosystem . Even deserts have its use in making the earth habitable.
The question is how can someone that was created perfect sin? How could the angel that later became satan sin, where did he learn his badness from if he and all around him was perfect? Where did evil come from if not from God since nothing can exist outside God.
Does God know when something is not yet good? Of course yes, how else would he be able to declare his work as complete?
Does he know when something is not true? Of course he does, otherwise it would not be impossible for him to lie.
As intelligent beings, acting as free moral agents, we naturally have an understanding of evil just like God. It is this understanding that helps us to optimize our choices. There are infinitely more ways to do something wrong than there is to do it right. What i am saying is that in other for you to know how to do something right, you will need to know when it is not right. Put in another way, God knows how to lie, Jesus as well, but they will not lie. but it is impossible for God to lie, if he did he would die and since he is immortal, he cannot lie.
I don't think i am making sense anymore as i tend to do when writing, more so, it is way past my bed time. I shall endeavour to complete my thoughts on this issue tomorrow evening, until then try not to be too hard on me. It will involve me bringing up freewill and God's omniscience and somehow tying it up with what I have written so far.

I still remember how shocked I was some years ago when a friend of mine told me that perhaps God created evil, then my initial shock slowly turned to dismay when I realised that his argument was difficult to refute.
His argument went like this; if God is the Universal set, it follows that every subsets and their elements must exist within the universal set, nothing can exist outside it including evil.
It took me some days to reason out an answer that was satisfactory to me, which I think might also answer some of the issues raised by Atheist:-D. I have a bit of difficulty expressing complex thought in writing, but I will give this one a try later in the evening.

@muskeeto:
While it is true that a lot of Nigerians see nothing wrong in paying bribe, my post was in response to the op
A fire and brimstone spewing Nigerian friend in Ohio was telling me just a few weeks ago that she had no choice but to bribe when she visited Nigeria recently. She explained how custom officers detained her at the airport because she refused to part with some dollars. At first, she thought she could win the battle by threatening to sue them ; but when she realized that in Nigeria threats of lawsuits are not effective as they are in the US, she was forced to go the famous Nigerian way and prayed for forgiveness afterwards.
If you look at the bold, you would see that the op failed to make a distinction between giving a bribe and being a victim of extortion.
