These pastors are like leeches, they suck up valuable resource that could have been better invested in the production of goods and services for their personal aggrandizement. I think Jesus would find very little that is different between them and the pharisees he condemned. |
Omooba77: Members of The Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG) begins 100 days fasting in January 2014, to plead for mercy and shape individual destiny. This is not a show of, but a plea for all members to join in plea to God. The last time something like this was done was in 1993. May God bless every member of RCCG, our leaders, mummy and daddy G.O.How did it benefit the country when it was done in 1993. |
@Omooba77 My piont is that if you can collect the money that goes into religion in Nigeria today and invest it into real businesses, you will have far better returns to society than putting it in church/mosque. |
Naijamericana: Ok...what determines the price of crude oil worldwide? The price is determined by various factors some of which are; supply and demand and a little speculation of future availability, US monetary policy, etc. |
Omooba77: The church is not a cult; there is free entry and free exit. How many people have died, left and yet the church is not really missing them. For every Elijah, there still 7000 faithful men. Church is not all about money and money, may God have mercy on us.........Granted, there is free entry and free exit, but the problem is that religion in Nigeria is somehow able to attract 'free' capital in ways that someone with a brilliant idea cannot. The implication of opportunity cost means that every free capital that is sucked up by the unproductive religious houses is capital lost to The more productive business sector.More so, the ten percent tithe and other offerings and levies collected by the church is so inefficiently spent that by my estimate will result to over seventy percent reduction in aggregate demand from the money lost to religion |
plaetton: Why does god need money, paper money at that?Last time I checked private jets and luxury cars can only be bought with money. |
Joagbaje: How much rosary do they prayPardon me, but I fail to see the relevance of your question to the one asked of you |
I am very sure that the good pastor Ayo Oritsejafor will be enjoying all of his meals along with some of the finest bottles of wine on the day set aside by him for fasting and prayers while the majority of his followers would be banging their heads in prayer on empty stomach. He is very much aware of the causes of Nigeria's problems, and never once has he said anything about it because he has been a beneficiary of the corrupt system. |
phuck_NL: More expensive, yes........Lower quality, hell to the no.....If deposits are sour, they simply process it and its factored into the cost of producingThe primary quality of crude oil that has made it so valuable and versatile as an energy source apart from its high energy density is its historically high energy return on energy invested, which sadly has been falling as we continue to use up all the easy to access oil. And if this trend should continue, there will come a time when the energy effort required to drill 1 barrell of oil will be close to or equal to 1 barrel of oil. At that point irrespective of the monetary value oil will no longer be able to perform as an energy source. |
phuck_NL: Not gonna happen for another 300 years.Oil does not have to run out in the next 300 years, in fact it can never completely run out due to the way it is extracted from the ground. But its extraction rate can only go so high before it reaches its peak level of global production, plateau on that level for a while, and then starts the inevitable decline. It is this peak level of production and decline as well as a deteriorating energy return on energy invested (EROEI) on a global scale that some economist find disturbing. Some mathematical models are predicting that we would start feeling the squeeze on the global economy between now and a few years time as a result of peak oil and declining EROEI. |
frosbel: It is evident by this thread that RCCG is not full of Christians but followers of MEN.Well said frosbel. |
phuck_NL: Nope.Crude oil is a finite none renewable resource that will one day be exhausted, what do you think the world would use when that day comes? |
a.A.K:If it works as designed it is supposed to be carbon neutral, meaning that the algae will grow by absorbing co2 from the atmosphere through photosynthesis and return the co2 back to the atmosphere on combustion. |
macof: So when it comes to refund, tithe is free-givingI would truly be interested to hear the views of a tithe proponent concerning the op story while addressing the quote above. |
ignis: The op is lying... He just sat down and fabricate this story, just to make a ridicule of the church. The story seems quite plausible, even if it never hapened, it is the kind of scenarion one who is intellectually invested in that belief system Would ponder over for a resolution. But your peanut size brain is only capable of an emotional driven response. |
Chief De Klimax: WHERE IS THE POINT THERE? SHE MUST HAVE TRIED TO LURE THE MAN OF GOD TO BED BUT TO NO AVAIL, HENCE THE NAME GAY....GUYS THINK!Or perhaps he tried to sleep with some guy known to her, hence the name gay.....guys think! You should understand that speculation is not fact evet if it appears to make sense to you. |
This purchase is proof that your tithe is working. Shout Hallelujah! |
Demain_man: I prophesy that this is going to become the new trend in Nigerian/Africa protestant churches from now on. Why haven't they thought of this before now?I won't be surprised to see this trend continue. |
plaetton: Back to the Topic. What you just said is wishful thinking. You seem to be ignoring the problem of corruption that has been the bane of Nigeria's existence. There is not a parastatal in Nigeria that is not a conduit for siphoning public funds, adding a government run space program to the list of government parastatals would just be viewed by those in charge as one more way to reward themselves. Unlike NEPA, Water Board, Ministry of Works, etc which offer tangible services that are critical to the welfare of the majority of Nigerians, a space program offers no tangible service neither is it critical to the welfare of the general population. So if you consider NEPA and co to have failed despite the pressure from the public to improve, what makes you think that a space program would fare better with no pressure from the public and no way of judging its performance? The fact that it is for science does not exclude it from the Nigerian factor. |
My friend, there is danger in beliving anything you read from the internet without verification from an authoritative source. This should be your guiding principle when reading up stuff from the internet."The problem with quotes on the Internet is that it is hard to verify their authenticity." — Abraham Lincoln" |
psky: Wow! You're such a genius! Some people actually took this stuff seriously. |
Tloc: You are dumber for thinking otherwise. Google what GRAYS are or Zeta Reticulans, and be more informed. Read....http://www.floating-world.org/zeta.htmYou be proper educated olodo, it would be very pointless for anyone to try to convince you that till date there have not been a single proven contact with an alien. |
Another tithe thief. Una no dey tire self? |
2Mekus: That's why we are Africans, nay third world. Were this to happen in developed world, they would take advantage of it to increase their scientific knowledge. But here, we are quick to dismiss it with a wave of hand. CNN is awash with news of people claiming to have seen one UFO or the other. Over there, that boy will be picked up by FBI for deeper investigation rather than castigating. AFRICA!!I heard from someone who heard from someone who heard from someone in the know that the germans and americans have already sent a strong delegation of scientist to nigeria to see if they can get their grubby hands on the antigravity drive and the ftl drive. |
5thNOTE: I strongly dont believe it is a joke.Thank you very much. How can some people be taking such a serious matter as a joke? The UFO is an angel carrier transport vehicle used by angels to travel between multiverse at faster than light speed. The ships primary propulsion system is a combination of a wormhole engine for shortening the space time continuum and a positron ion ftl drive for moving through the wormhole and interstellar space. When it gets to the earth it makes use of a dual antigravity elevator drives for effortlessly gliding through the earths atmosphere. Some of the people that were used as unwilling volunteers for testing the suitability of using the angel carrier transport vehicle as arapture evacuation vehicle should there be any problem with the rapture antigravity soul elevator that would be used to airlift people, misstook the angels for aliens. That was how the myth of alien abduction came to be. |
sandijey:It is the only obvious logical reason why they would need a transport. |
Khalessi: But the bible says angels have wings, so why do they need "angel carrier transport"Ok the angels sent to you guys are new recruits there GPS has not been installed huh?!...You have legs but you still need trasport shey? The Angel Carrier Transport is faster than angels and it also ensures that the angels would not suffer from fatigue on getting to their destination |
Mr McJay: Angel carrier? You folks have turned christianity into a joke. This is not a joking matter at all. I heard it from a good source that the angels were trialling using the Angel Carrier Transport (ACT) vehicle as a back up Rapture Evacuation Vehicle (REV) should there be a last minute failure of the Rapture Anti Gravity Soul Elevator (RAGS-E). |
aManFromMars: Morning, it is a desperate situation, I accept that. And this is present in every field. But poverty and hunger should not be an excuse not to finance a space program. We keep paying for ready-made solutions at the expense of training our people. Let's take risks, fail. And learn from our attempts.I agree with you to an extent, poverty and hunger should not be an excuse to not make the necessary investment that would benefit a nation in the long term, but i don't think that investment should be a space program with the present state of the nation. It is often said that one should always start with the low hanging fruit first, and it is only after you are done with the lower branches before you can start thinking of going after the fruits at the very top that even a monkey might have second thought on. The point i am making is that the government should spend their time, money and effort on projects that will give the highest return on investment and also easily achievable. Take power for example, providing uniterupted power supply in Nigeria is an ivestment that is guaranteed to positively change the economic landscape of nigeria in far reaching ways than anyone can imagine including setting the stage for a future viable space program. Why we have not made this investment is not because we lack the capital, nor is it because we are lacking of the knowledge to do it. Rather it is as a result of the deep structural problem of coruption and ineptitude of the government and citizens at large that views public projects as lottery tickets to riches. Think about it, if the people responsible for NEPA/PHCN could brazenly embezzle the trillions of naira that has gone into power, a critical service that has direct impact on nearly everybody in the country without any fear or remorse, how well do you think the nigerian space agency that has little or no immedite impact on the people would fare? Me think it woud become special blackhole for siphoning money off the treasury. |
Is it not amazing that Shilo would be visited by such a glorious sight? I am sure that must be one of the angel carrier transports that brought the thousands of angelic host that papa said was present at the event. More photos/videos please. |
Mr Troll: she fine? She fine no be small and she dey brilliant well well, she don marry |
Ranchhoddas: ...they are very rare,as a matter of fact i am yet to meet one in real lifeMy youngest sister is an agnostic |
