Car Talk / Re: This Solar-Powered Car Built By Students Can Reach 100km/h With No Battery by dorox(m): 9:13am On Apr 17, 2018
dominique:
Am I the only one not seeing any car here? undecided
Looks like a giant skateboard

A solar car has to have a large surface area in order to harvest energy from the sun, hence the flat shape. It also has to be very aerodynamic so as to minimize drag, hence its winglike shape.
Lastly, it has to be made as light as possible so as to reduce it's dead weight, hence its thing construction built with carbon fiber composite.

Car Talk / Re: Nigerians Saw A Self-Driving Car For The First Time & Mobbed The Car (Pic,Video) by dorox(m): 2:37pm On Apr 10, 2018
The car has a driver who is probably situated at the back, controlling the vehicle by means of a modified steering.

To drive in Nigeria requires the most advanced level 5 autonomy which does not currently exist. Moreover, to even have a degree of autonomy approaching that of level 5 requires special sensors such as lidar, cameras radar, etc. This vehicle clearly has none of those, so it couldn't have been autonomously driven.

How do you explain the fact that Jesus drank what was forbidden to John the Baptist.

OLAADEGBU:

What kind of wine?

I wasn't aware that there is more than one kind of wine. What other kind of wine is there?

Let me assume that your question is in regards as to whether or not the wine taken by Jesus is alcoholic and is capable of intoxicating someone when consumed excessively. Then my answer will be yes, the wine that Jesus drank is alcoholic.

How do I know that the wine Jesus drank has alcohol? you might ask.

By definition wine is alcoholic since it is a product of fermentation. Trying to argue that wine can be non alcoholic is as ridiculous as saying that there exist such a thing as vegetarian suya.

Another reason in support of the fact that the wine is alcoholic is jesus' statement in the book of Matthew 11 quoted below

18 For John came neither eating nor drinking, and they say, He hath a devil.

19 The Son of man came eating and drinking, and they say, Behold a man gluttonous, and a winebibber, a friend of publicans and sinners. But wisdom is justified of her children.

Now contrast the bold text with what was forbidden to John the Baptist in the book of Luke chapter 1 quoted below

for he will be great in the sight of the Lord. He is never to take wine or other fermented drink, and he will be filled with the Holy Spirit even before he is born. 16 He will bring back many of the people of Israel to the Lord their God.

Can you now see that Jesus claimed to have drank what John the Baptist was not allowed to drink, and that the drink John was ordered not to drink is any fermented drink with wine as a specific example of that class of drinks?

Anyone that believes in the concept of witches and wizard has no right to condemn the actions of the wicked grandma. You cannot on the one hand be praying "die!..die!...die!" at every imagined enemy and on the other hand condemn the very actions such beliefs can lead to.

Religion / Re: Why Are Most White Folks Irreligious by dorox(m): 6:45pm On Jan 26, 2018
lady2sexy:
well I cant speak for all the white folks the few I have met in my place of work are all irreligious. in fact the few I have worked with mostly from western Europe, US, Canada are strictly anti religion. Just last week the white folk sent to head our department almost sacked our head of operations because of our usual morning devotion. He yelled at everybody like a mad dog and warned that it should be the last time we bring our god damn unproductive religion obsession to the office. He used all sort of f word to denigrate and insult everybody and blamed the dwindling fortunes of our department on our unproductive religious act. He said instead of mapping out strategies on how to improve and achieve our job objective we resort to clapping, dancing and making noise. though we tried to explain that we have done all those before trying to back it up with prayers but he shouted us down.

The previous white guy that headed our unit ain't religious but he's indifferent about our morning devotion as long as we do our normal safety tips and work meeting. other white guys in the coy are also not really interested about religion. only two out of lot identify themselves as Christians but they are basically non practicing as they know next to nothing in the bible. We understand they are Christians as a result of family background.

This is really serious, they brought religion to us and now they are no longer interested.

guys have any of you witness this anti religious stance while working with white folks. And guys that live abroad especially the western world educate us on how an average white folk perceive religion especially Christianity because if am left with this little experience of mine I would say they are satanist undecided

Look at this four instances and tell me what you can discern regarding the effect of prayer on the outcome of an exam. Assuming you agree that the statements are true.

A student read very well and prayed before writing an exam, and he passed

The same student read very well and did not pray before writing the same exam, and he passed.

The same student did not read at all, but prayed, and he failed.

The same student neither read nor prayed, and he failed.

Answering this problem will help you understand what those white guys at your place of work think about the productivity of prayers.

Religion / Re: Interpretations Of The Bible. Bible Scholars Let's Talk. by dorox(m): 4:46pm On Jan 22, 2018
Originakalokalo:
Let me start.

David, during his futigive period, was in a cave.

He missed his days in Jerusalem.

He missed the water of Jerusalem.

He said.... I wish someone can go to the gate of Bethlehem and get me water.

Jerusalem was occupied by the Jebusites.

It was a Sucide mission to go there, of all reasons,

To go and get water.

One of his men volunteered and brought the water.

David said,. This is the blood of my brethren.

He remembered the sacrifice this man made in bringing the water.

He poured it away. He didn't drink it.

He poured it away TO THE LORD.

Interpretation:

When we feel like doing things we have left in the past,

LET US REMEMBER THE SACRIFICE OF OUR LORD JESUS.

AND SACRIFICE THAT FEELING TO GOD.

Let's pour that feeling away.

I don't know how you came by this explanation when the reason for his action was given in the passage.

So the three mighty warriors broke through the Philistine lines, drew water from the well near the gate of Bethlehem and carried it back to David. But he refused to drink it; instead, he poured it out before the Lord. “Far be it from me, Lord, to do this!” he said. “Is it not the blood of men who went at the risk of their lives?” And David would not drink it.

Such were the exploits of the three mighty warriors.

From the text in bold, you can see that David having realized the risk his men went through to get him the water could not in good conscience drink from it, because doing so would be like drinking their blood.

This is in stark contrast with the "Men of God" we have today that don't care if you use your blood to fuel their private jets.

Instead of beggarly bowing down to these public looters, Nigerians should be venting their anger at them and demanding that they do a better job for which they were hired.

While reading d daily devotional of d RCCG of wed 17 march, 2010, titled ONE HUNDRED FOLD RETURN, it says pastors are priests, and encourages d reader to always sow in d lives of their priests (pastors) in order 4 dem to get a 60 fold return. It went further to say general overseers (G.O's) are high priests and also ecourages d reader to always sow into d live of their G.O. to get a 100 fold return. It went further to implore the reader not to mind the fact that their G.O.'s have d luxuries of life while sowing into thier lives.

My points of disagreement with the above:
1. I'm yet to see anywhere in d bible that says pastors are priests and general overseers are high priests, instead d scripture says ;ye (children of God) are a holy nation, a royal priesthood'. And we have just 1 high priest- Jesus Christ (cant get d relevant scriptures now but am sure u're familiar with them.)

2. Please where in d scripture does it say if you sow into the live of pastors/'priests' you'll get a 60 fold return, and if you do same to general overseers/'high priest' you get 100 fold returns?

Pls somebody enlighten me on the above, or am I missing something here?

This sermon is all about greed and selfishness, it has nothing to do with love for neighbour. Daddy G O Adeboye has outdone the pharisees this time.
