If they don’t do una go complain . If they do una go complain.

Luke 7:33-34 (KJV)
33 For John the Baptist came neither eating bread nor drinking wine; and ye say, He hath a devil. 34 The Son of man is come eating and drinking; and ye say, Behold a gluttonous man, and a winebibber, a friend of publicans and sinners!

GET INSPIRED , GET GIVING AND STOP CRITICISM

The scripture you quoted does not in anyway address my point which is; the apparent deification of Pastor Chris and the doing of "good works" in honour of your pastor rather than in service of your neighbour.

Read the title of this thread again, maybe then you will get what my criticism is about.

A Pharisee spotted. Now u called it Eye service. If u hadn't seen it you would still be the first to complain that Christ Embassy doesn't render selfless service.

I will always applaud any selfless act of kindness shown towards a fellow human in need, but not this charade of a show that looks more like a promotional drive than a selfless act of kindness.
The title of the op already says it all. It was done in honour of the "Jesus of our time", Pastor Chris.
Religion / Re: International Day Of Service In Honour Of Rev Dr. Chris Oyakhilome by dorox(m): 7:48am On Dec 06, 2017
All these selfless "eye service" work in honour of the highly esteemed "Man of God", Pastor Chris Oyakhilomen. He has indeed become the Jesus of his flock.
Religion / Re: Bishop David Oyedepo Speaks On Tithing (Video) by dorox(m): 11:07am On Nov 12, 2017
Seun:

Actually, the stance of the New Testament on a lot of these issues are quite obvious to anyone who interpretes the Bible honestly.

The old testament forbids Jewish women from wearing men's clothes but it doesn't say which clothes are men's clothes and which ones are women's clothes. The New Testament only talks about "modesty" in dressing. Trousers that are not too tight are more modest than skirts.

The Sabbath is on Saturday, but Paul made it very clear that Christians who are not Jews should not be asked to keep the Sabbath.

There was no non-alcoholic wine in the Bible. Jesus, the apostles, and Paul drank alcoholic wine on multiple occasions. Jesus and the early Christians performed the holy communion with alcoholic wine. So a blanket ban on the consumption of alcohol is not supported by the Bible. However, many Bible passages condemn drunkenness. so biblically, it's okay to consume alcohol, but not to the point of getting drunk.

There is no biblical basis for tithing. This is quite clear. Nobody who reads the Bible honestly will conclude that Christians should pay tithes.

If your faith and belief is based on the Bible, and not on the church you attend, then the correct answers to all the questions above are clear.

It is difficult to make a man understand something if his livelihood depends on him not understanding it, or if he is truly an imbecìle.
So the fact that most of those who are in support of tithing (and they are a significant part of the population) do not derive any income from the practice is a bad indication for the average IQ in Nigeria

So the woman that told some lies in the short time she was on earth is condemned by your God to surfer the most unimaginable kind of torture for eternity. The same goes for the man who who masturbated to satiate his God given sexual impulses, as well as the gambler and the alcoholic.

Now, If this your God had limited this horrendous torture to one year per lie, or per drink, or per the stake gambled, I would still think of him as a sadistic monstrosity. But to torture for eternity for torture sake with no end in sight, is the purest expression of evil I can think of that not even the most evil person that have ever lived could stomach. That God of yours must be the devil himself.

The assumptions made by the op is silly and full of contradictions as others have rightly pointed out.

Perhaps the better question should be how can human explorers of the future (assuming we are still around and advanced enough to become an an interplanetary species) turn an arid rocky planet situated in the Goldilocks zone of it's parent star into a wet lush world teeming with life?
But this is more of science fiction than science or even religion.

Therein lies the trick, the papers and unnecessary wrappings around the midsection of the bottle is to distract you from the fact that the the bottle is made up two parts fused together.

Using the pastor's logic, we can conclude that he is a closet homosexual, that is why God sent the flood to destroy his house in order to punish him and expose him.

The bible said that Adam was not deceived into eating the fruit, which would imply that he was fully aware of the consequence of disobeying God and eating the fruit.
Looking at the story from the point that Adam deliberately ate the fruit he knew will result in his death, it becomes obvious that he already knew that Eve was dying from eating the fruit and he chose to die with her rather than living in paradise alone without his Eve. You could say that their story is the first Romeo and Juliet Story.

Religion / Re: 8 Reasons Why Obedience To God Is Very Important by dorox(m): 10:02am On Jul 16, 2017
Obedience in very simple terms is to surrender your cash and property to the Man of God on his say say so without asking questions like a zombie. It is about faithfully your paying tithe, giving multiple generous offerings per church service, paying first fruit and sowing seed.
Showing kindness to strangers does not count, neither does trying to lead a morally clean life that is free from corruption, lies, sexual immorality and greed.
When it comes to obedience all that matters is the money you are able to bribe pay 'God' to unleash his blessings upon you.

It is much easier and somewhat comforting to rest the blame of our failures on evil forces beyond our control than to accept that we are our demon. But the truth is that until we learn to take responsibility for our actions and accept that we have been the architect of our failures past, we cannot hope to design a better and lasting future for ourselves.

Prophet Mohammed (peace be unto him), who is considered by many people to be the best and most noble man to walk this earth married his child-bride Aisha when she was just six years old and slept with her when she turned nine. Clearly, this twelve year old girl had it better than Aisha.

What a naively foolish statement? Insisting that nothing shall ever take away the source of your joy does not make it so. If it did, this pastor would not have lost her only son.

The money is deposited for investment with us and we use it for some of our other services like oil&gas, property development, real estate and credit&loan facilities which are sure going to yield awesome profits (so, no cause for alarm about how your money will yield profits). The interests gained on these products will be shared amongst the investors based on the interest rates. It's just similar to what happens when you deposit your money in the commercial banks but with us (our company), the interest rates are higher.

Why would your company be willing to pay such a high interest rate to depositors when they can easily get bank loans at a much lower interest rate without the hassle of begging random strangers for investment money?
