surawilly: Former Nigeria star Etim Esin has disclosed that Super Eagles midfielder John Obi Mikel is not worthy of putting on the is not worthy wearing Nigeria's number 10 jersey following his below par outing at the ongoing 2014 Fifa World Cup.
Esin who wore the country's national team respected jersey number between 1988 and 1992 lambasted Mikel after his disappointing display that led to the country's exit in the round of 16 to France.

"Mikel was a big flop in Brazil. He wears Nigeria’s No.10 jersey but he did not show he is worthy of wearing it at the big stage like the World Cup,” Esin told NigeriaNewsWatch.

"He rose to the occasion in South Africa but in Brazil he was not committed and ended up as a monumental disaster.

"Look at how other players who wore No.10 jerseys for their respective countries have been playing including Messi, Neymar, Sneijder and the young chap from Colombia, James Rodriquez.

"He failed to carry Eagles along as the pilot of the team. Have you seen a No.10 that did not make a goal attempt let alone of scoring. Jokes apart, Mikel has not shown he deserves to wear our No.10 jersey."

He however called on the former Flying Eagles midfielder to improve his game and follow the path of the country's legends like Henry Nwosu and Austin Okocha who shone wearing the jersey number during their active days for Super Eagles.

"He should go and watch the video clips of Henry Nwosu and Jay Jay Okocha including my humble self and get some tutorials on how they played as Nigeria’s No.10. You must be special to wear the No.10 jersey and for me, has not done anything special.

"While Musa and Osaze were busy taking all the free kicks and corner kicks he was idle strolling in the pitch. As soon as Onazi was stretchered out, he was exposed.

"I don’t have anything against Mikel, when he came into limelight I was one of the first person that tipped him for greatness but I am amazed that he has yet to live up to expectations and I am highly disappointed.

“There is no doubt that he is a good player having shown his qualities in the past, but he has to raise his game at the moment considering the fact that he plays for a big club like Chelsea or else he would continue to warm their bench. I am giving him this advice for his own personal interest,” he concluded.

It is not a surprising feature for a player in the national team or a club side to arrogate powers to himself or be given those powers by the collusion or non-collusion of the technical team and it could go beyond the normal. It has happened, it is happening and it will continue to happen. What is abnormal is that the story of Mikel Obi having such powers in the Super Eagles is just coming out now after the 2014 World Cup.
It took the war of words between Mikel and Emmanuel Emenike to expose the rift and the swell of angst that had built up over time against the Chelsea midfielder.
But we had inkling about what was transpiring when a player that represented the Eagles at the 2013 Confederations Cup revealed that the team had to follow Mikel’s leading on the pitch because everyone had to adjust to his mood and position regardless of what Coach Stephen Keshi had told the team.

“We needed to see the position he would play before you decide on where to play.” This scenario played out at the 2013 Africa Cup of Nations Cup and it led to Nosa Igiebor being dropped after the first game against Zambia because he did not agree to be ‘elastic’ and ‘malleable’. Or in simple terms – he was supposed to adjust his game to suit Mikel’s game, this he did not do and other players that were ready to do that bidding got the nod ahead of him in subsequent matches.
Mikel also has a history of totally disregarding the Nigerian press, assuming an air of arrogance that totally aggravated people.
During the World Cup qualifiers, ‘king’ Mikel always had two bodyguards with him in Calabar always, these two guys also acted in other capacities, which were totally against camp rules but the coach could not drop him because he was playing a critical role in developing the team that the coach was building.

But in Brazil, it all came to a head as Emenike confronted Mikel on his utter waywardness and the lack of respect he showed to the other players, especially the new guys on the team.
Eyewitness account as narrated to said Mikel spoke disparagingly to Ramon Azeez for a hard tackle at training which totally sucked the confidence out of the young midfielder – a situation that had persisted over time as the ‘king’ could to be marked in training or the marker could incur the wrath of the supposed ruler of the Eagles kingdom.
Emenike, who plays in Turkey in Fenerbahce and is reasonable well off told Mikel off. The clash almost degenerated into fisticuffs but for the intervention of some other players and officials of the Nigeria Football Federation.
Emenike was said to have asked Mikel how much he earns at Chelsea that he would not allow everybody any moment’s rest. He added that if Mikel was not ready to play for the country, he should go back to his club. The coach was said to have settled that infraction but the seed of mistrust and discord has been sown in the team.
Against France, a top NFF official disclosed to African Football that Mikel kicked against the introduction of Azeez in place of the injured Ogenyi Onazi. And television pictures showed that Azeez was the first player called for by Keshi before he ‘had a change of mind’ or had his mind changed and Reuben Gabriel was preferred to the Almeria midfielder.
“Mikel made it very clear to Keshi that he did not wish for Ramon [Azeez] to play alongside him in midfield and that was why Azeez was asked to sit down.” That was taking his power to the wrong level as it may have cost his country that he swore to defend.
But Mikel has always been a bit full of himself – maybe as regarding journalists, whom he believes are always out to beg him for handouts. One colleague spoke of a meeting with the Eagles midfielder at his club, Chelsea FC in London, but even after introducing himself as being from Nigeria, he was then completely snubbed. But that colleague went on to have good conversations with John Terry and Frank Lampard – these are established world-class superstars; they welcomed the Nigerian reporter’s questions and dropped him off at the train station afterwards. The Bible says that the Lord hates the proud and that pride goes before a fall.
But all of this would have mattered little – good or excellent players are supposed to have a chip on their shoulder, but for the fact that all this pomposity did not translate to any good performances on the pitch at the World Cup and his rating amongst Nigerian football fans took such a buffeting that by the end of the match against France, Nigerians had devised a moniker for the Chelsea man; the unit of slowing down is now known as a Mikel.
Mikel’s career will start to unravel very soon as most fans are quite fed up with his way of playing for the national team and at his club. With the arrival of Cesc Fabregas, it remains to be seen if the gauge of his pride – Chelsea, would remain his domain.
Of all the No.10s that have shown up in Brazil, Mikel made the least contribution to his team. We can talk extensively about Neymar for Brazil; James Rodriguez for Colombia; Lionel Messi for Argentina, Karim Benzema for France and even Bryan Ruiz for Costa Rica but about the Nigerian the picture is of him complaining of being dispossessed of the ball and urging his mates to get it back for him. At Chelsea, he cannot do that but he is afforded that luxury with the national team but still he failed to perform!

Decide on what you want in life and where you are going in life. Then, look for someone that is going the same way with you. That will eliminate a lot of headache later in life. Mikel Obi kicked against the introduction of Ramon Azeez in place of the injured Ogenyi Onazi during the round of 16 match against France, a top team official has specially told AfricanFootball.com

Almeria midfielder Azeez was preparing to come in for the injured Onazi, when within moments coach Stephen Keshi asked Reuben Gabriel to come in instead for the Lazio youngster.

“Mikel made it very clear to Keshi that he did not wish for Ramon to play alongside him in the midfield and that was why Azeez was asked to sit down and in his place Reuben was brought in,” a top team official informed AfricanFootball.com

The player power Mikel wielded in the Super Eagles was such that coach Keshi asked the midfielder if he wanted to be replaced during the Bosnia-Herzegovina match after he appeared to tire.

The Algerian World Cup team has decided to donate their team salary of $9 million they got after their Round of 16 match with Germany to the people of Gaza, revealed one of the squad’s forwards.

"They need it more than us," 26-year old Islam Slimani, whose club is Sporting Lisbon.

The manager of the team hasn’t yet officially confirmed Slimani’s statement.

How it Works

However, when you use one of these compressing proxies, you’d connect to the third-party server instead. That server would connect to makeuseof.com for you, download the data, compress it to make it smaller, and then send it to you.

Some of these solutions also work in other apps and for more than just web pages. Whenever an app connects to a server and downloads data, the traffic will be routed through a third-party server that compresses the data for you. This saves on data where it really counts — the “last mile” between your phone and your cellular carrier, who probably doesn’t provide you with unlimited data. None of these services do anything to encrypted traffic, so your online banking and encrypted email connection will be private — but you won’t get the benefit of compression for those connections, either.
There’s a bit of a downside here. Things may take a bit longer to download — the data doesn’t come directly to you, but takes a roundabout route through a third-party server that has to compress it first. However, if you have a slow cellular data connection, it may actually be faster to download the compressed data!

Rightly so some of the decisions were terrible calls. Keshi felt that Emmanuel Emenike’s 16th minute goal shouldn't have been ruled out for an offside.

Also the referee failed to send off Blaise Matuidi for a stamp on Ogenyi Onazi's ankle with the Nigerian player substituted and having a POP strapped on his left leg.

Also Nigeria did not have a penalty given to them when Patrice Evra wrapped his arms around Osaze Odemwingie.

These were top decisions that cost Nigeria the game.



*Mikel went missing again:
When he is needed to rise up to the occasion,he simply goes missing and can't be found anywhere.

Mikel gave away lots of passes that one wonders how Keshi pinned his creativity hopes on the Chelsea player.

With the exception of a back -heel pass that even Juwon Oshaniwan couldn't get to,there was hardly any right thing he did on the pitch.

He was lazy and failed to influence the game for Nigeria when other French midfielders ran the show.

Young Paul Pogba towered above Mikel in midfield and the Nigeria player looked nonetheless ordinary.

Now the talks is that Mikel is simple over-hyped,lacking real qualities like other number 10's.


*Wide men didn't help:
Nigeria had Ahmed Musa,Victor Moses and Osaze Odemwingie in the match yet their cross tally was abysmal.

Musa seemed to run out of gas while Moses' effective contribution was a goal-line clearance that was destined for the net.

Their contributions in the game was piss-poor and they didn't make any impact especially in the second half of the game.

One expected penetrating runs that would have troubled the French team on the break but Didier Deschamps' team wasn't really ruffled.


*Griezmann changed the game:
Up to until the introduction of Antione Griezmann into the game,Nigeria was holding the French team more so thanks to the heroics of Vincent Enyeama in goal for the Super Eagles.

Griezmann was a key decision Deschamps made to unlock the Super Eagles. Efe Ambrose instantly lost his composure and had a hard time coping with the Real Sociedad player.

The 23-year old started the move that led to Karim Benzema forcing Enyeama to punch out the ball,with Pogba headed in the goal from the resultant corner-kick.

He got the final nail in the coffin when in stoppage time he made Joseph Yobo score an own goal,getting in front of him as the Nigerian defender was trying to stop him from getting to a cross.

His runs unsettled the entire Nigerian back four who couldn't cope with him.


*Keshi's technical input was found wanting:
When Onazi got injured,Ramon Azeez was stripping to come on only for Reuben Gabriel to surface. The latter had minimal effect and did little to stabilize Nigeria's midfield.

Keshi did not react when Nigeria went a goal down in the 79th minute only to make a last ditch effort in stoppage time to take off Moses and bring in Uche Nwofor.

A positive response from the bench early enough maybe would have even won the match for Nigeria.

Deschamps identified what he needed to do and he did it,bring in Griezmann and the rest is history.

Even when Keshi had two more substitutions to do and chasing the game,he hesitated a bit and Nigeria lost it.

It is foolhardy for Keshi to blame Enyeama for our loss. When a keeper is subjected to the kind of pressure that Enyeama faced, he is bound to commit errors in judgment. After the exit of Onazi the midfield virtually collapsed, the defence and keeper took a heavy beating. Questions that Keshi needs to answer: what happened to the bench? Why were there no tactical response to the challenge the Eagles faced? Was it Enyeama that prevented our team from scoring?

Let's get it right. Yakubu and Kaita are not in the same league with Suarez. Before the act that was the final nail on their coffin, their rating had gone down. Suarez on the other hand was an inspiration for team and country and his acts were targeted at helping his country. Would anyone criticise any Nigerian player if he had done what Suarez did against Ghana to enable Nigeria get to Semi final? He would be given a hero's welcome!

The club career of Kelechi Iheanacho seems to have taken another turn with the latest being that the player has rejected a move to Manchester City in preference to FC Porto.

Iheanacho was voted the Most Valuable Player at the last under 17 World Cup in the United Arab Emirates,where he helped Nigeria to win the title,scoring six goals in the process.

But settling for a club seemed to have been a problem after the tournament,as so many clubs were in for his signature.

Iheanacho left the camp of Nigeria's homebased Eagles to seal a move with Manchester City,after his father James Iheanacho revealed that the family agreed a move with the English club.

Iheanacho signed a deal after passing a medical, and the player was on the verge of being sent to City's academy in Ghana,but he pulled out of the deal.

There are reports that the Iheanachos' backed out after realising that they won't be paid by City until 2015,which made them to explore the Porto option.

But they are yet to deny or accept such claims that the promising player won't be joining Manchester City again.

I have checked the engine oil and it is normal. I had my rewire work on my fan yesterday. so that it will blow at the speed at which it works when AC is switched on. it normally works a slower speed but i thought increasing its speed might be a better trick. The relay was also looked into ( I guess). So i think the only thing left for me is to look for a Toyota Dealership where I can get thermostat. Thanks

Your problem started because of the change of Thermostat. If you read through your owner's manual, Toyota gave a standing intruction 'that irrespective of the country of use, do not tamper with the thermostat'. Some mechanics would tell you to change it because Nigeria is a tropical country. But the car manufacturer has taken that into consideration hence, they tell you that the Thermostat helps cool the engine in an extreme weather condition.

It would be advisable for you to tell your mechanic to reverse it if he can or get smone competent enough to do it. This done, your car will get back to good old days.

Actually, I had the overheating problem first that was why I asked the mechanic to change it. I had driven my sienna for over 8hrs with brief stops before i noted the temperature gauge had climaxed. I am suspecting that the mechanic replaced the thermostat with a spare that he had because the moment he did, the sienna overheats after driving for 15mins or so. I had to be filling the vehicle with water after it cooled down thrice before i took it back to him for him to reverse the changes he had made. Yesterday, I decided to add coolant to the radiator. one of the problems i noticed also that also happened this morning was that when I checked the water reserve compartment it was empty! It has happened a couple of times and the ground will not be wet.

Please I need your recommendation on the the Thermostart to buy as a replacement for my 1999 Toyota Sienna with a V6 engine. It was shipped from Baltimore (US). From what i can gather from discussion in this forum this might be what I need. I had my mechanic change it once but it worsened the problem that i had to ask him to reverse the changes he had made.
