I read a story yesterday about a guard dog, anti drug officials came to arrest the owners of the dog because they were into drug business. While the owners were handcuffed and laying on the floor, the guard dog which was a Rottweiler also laid on the floor alongside the owners cheesy cheesy grin. Some dogs are just so wonderful, whether it was out of fear or common sense, I'm trying trying to conclude on the dog's reason for such action cheesy cheesy grin
A Rottweiler is a watch dog and not a guard dog. Has the Dog been Dogo Argentino,Presa Canario or ojeriza, the reverse would have been the case.

EducationRe: Do I Quit My Job Or Keep Getting Distracted In Medical School? Help Me by drdeath: 7:00pm On Jul 06, 2022
donnie56:
Hello everyone,
I am in dire need of your honest advice. I am a fan of Nairaland but created this because of identity.
I am a medical student studying medicine in one of the public universities in Nigeria. When the ASUU strike newly started, I started looking for things to do and clients to work for. Fortunately, I got two clients who pay me about 200K per month since April. It varies; last month, I earned 199K, this month will be 220K+ if I work harder.
I have saved most of the money to write professional exams.
However, my school still conducts lectures through Zoom and we have not had rest since the strike started. We do have classes from 8am till 5pm except on some days. I am about three months back and our test is coming up soon.
Please do you advise I quite my 200k/per month and focus on my studies seeing that i have lots of materials to read and prepare for my test?
P.S: I have tried balancing but the freelance work is highly demanding. What do i do please?

Lalasticlala please help. Push this to front page. Thank you.
YESSSS!
Chief I am a MO.
I took a programme in Advertising from APCON when I was in Medical School. It was a 3 yr program with exams taken 2wice a year. The lectures were only on Saturdays(16 wks) and it was not compulsory.I was able to combine them with my Medical and Clinical lectures in Medical School.
I run my own Advertising billboards now apart from being a MO in GH.
Note:You need to start reading your Medical topics-Anatomy,Biochemistry,Physiology, Medical Pathology,Pharmacology,Haematology,Clinical Pathology,Epidemiology and Community health and Microniology-with your Institution’s past theory questions and Mcq to be able to cover much topics within a short time.
Goodluck!

Gracelander:
I never knew this is what heart break feels like, I'm shattered and broken.

I started dating him from 100 level till we graduated, it's been five years now. We suffered and passed through a lot together, I made a lot of sacrifices for him and even had two painful abortions for him.

But he always complained that I got fat and he liked slim girls, he broke up with me in the most excruciating manner. I noticed changes a few months back but he kept lying to me not knowing he was seeing another girl.

The girl chatted me up few days back to know her stand and I told her everything, he even posted pictures he had with the girl, this is someone that hates pictures and hardly takes one with me regardless of how much I beg. He doesn't even post his own pictures but he's already posting the girls pictures.

The girl is his spec and more attractive than me... I'm just ashamed of myself. The girl decided to stick with him even after everything I told her so she could leave him including the abortion part.

I've wished him well but I'm in serious pain, I've been crying for days now and unable to eat. I gave him everything, he was my first ever guy. I wish he could come back, I'm ready to forgive him.

How can move on from this heart break, it's killing me slowly.
You need to start exercising like jogging, retrojogging(jogging to the back),running and
Skipping.
It will kill the depression.

CrimeRe: Advice Needed Urgently About These Security Guys Please by drdeath: 9:58pm On May 27, 2022
professore:
Dear nairalanders this issue seems small/trivial but it is not, and it is bothering me. Personally, I have not been lucky with friends, they end up becoming envious and bitter for no reason, but obviously because of my qualities so I am very careful with people and I "choose" my friends wisely (I choose them). So I will like to go straight to the point now.

I relocated to a new house. So after a (very) long walk from my house there is a gate one must pass through to get out of the place and then you can begin to see bikes, etc. What I noticed was that throughout the first month I got to the area, the gate was unmanned as it was free. Soon after that I started noticing the presence of a security guy (he should be in my age bracket or 3 years older). Each time I went out or came in he would ensure he seized an opportunity to greet me even when I deliberately looked away "welcome Sir" and I would say "well done". But I was not comfortable with this because I noticed he wasn't greeting other people that passed through, so why me? Like he came there to get to know me. Moreso, I have always known the best thing is to avoid people you really don't want to have anything to do with. I only maintain professional relationships with people after terrible experience with those who claimed to be friends. Note that, I walk alone here as I know nobody. So as time went on he would greet me then I would just act like I didn't hear.

Later they became two, they would greet me then I would just pass on my own. Now it's well over a month, that I stopped responding to their greetings, but they still greet me despite silence.

One day, for the first time I saw someone I know in the area and we went through the gate together, we saw one of the two security guys, he didn't greet me, it's about two weeks now and I have not seen that particular security guy there (the question is why?)

Now, the other one is always there. This morning he greeted me as always, I gave no reply as usual, when I came back in the evening same greeting, then I stopped and stared at him, I wanted to talk but I changed my mind and walked away and he saw that. So I went out again and this guy now really stood up greeting me like a pal of his.

Nairalanders what do you advice that I do, this is not normal, what interest do they really have in me. Because if you know someone is not responding what a normal human being should do is stop greeting. I think the devil want to use them. Because as it is, I'm enraged by this act and I know the intent is they have is not pure.

Modified: All of you saying anything that comes to your brain...do you know my personal experience in life? As in, do you know what has happened to me before that made me to decide if I could overcome I will always go gently on my own? Because you are Just talking now. Most importantly, I don't look down on anyone even street beggers. What I am discussing here is far from that, try and eliminate this bias so you can understand my plight. By the way, I am not rich yet and I keep my dressing simple.

I want to go and come back peacefully without familiarity with anyone I have no professional relationship with as this is the safest way to avoid issues (this decision is from a terrible past experience and you need to understand that).

I want to know if I should maintain my silence or I can "politely" tell them I don't appreciate their greetings. As for my brain needing examination don't worry about that, I know my story better.
Chief I understand what is happening.
Why they are greeting you is because they want get to know you more in terms of being able to ask for money or borrow money from you in future.
They can concur that you are a salary earner.
Except there is no other place, you have no choice but to pass there.
Always answer them when they greet you but NEVER ever try to start any conversation with them for any reason.
Enjoy!

Much as there should be justice for the dead, justice should not also be denied the accused.
This is the same broadcaster that claimed he has CCTV video of the accused persons culpability in the death of Oriyomi.Despite repeated calls to make the video available,he hasn't till today.
No body part was found missing from the corpse of the dead man.No sign of trauma based on autopsy report. So did the hotel staff and proprietor kill him spiritually?
The offence that hotel committed was hiding the death from the authorities and desposing of the body illegally for which the culprits would pay the commensurate price.
That they murdered him is without proof.
It's these kind of broadcasters that instigate mob action on sometimes innocent people.Nigerians should also learn that not all accusations carried on social media are true, despite whatever emotions are built up against arrested people.
We shout that police arrest innocent people and throw them in jail for offences they know nothing about, but we do almost same thing once people are arrested for offences that are still under investigation.
You must be very daft to have uttered this statement.

CrimeRe: British Historian Simon Webb: Yorubas Are Behind Most Of The Scams In Britain by drdeath: 9:51am On Apr 14, 2022
GreatAxeMan:
I've reproduced the transcript of the YouTube video.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4elhOK34tk4

Something which I have noticed over the years is that Yoruba people seem to be in
a class of their own in many ways.

A lot of the time when people in Britain make disrespectful remarks about Africans, it is really Yorubas who have prompted them to feel that way.

Part of the reason for this of course is that there's an awful lot of Nigerians living in this country now and the great majority of them are Yorubas.

Now I have to say that a lot of the time they still seem different from other
Africans I've known such as Zambians and Kenyans who are as rational and sensible as anything and with whom I could get along without any difficulty.

With Yorubas though there always seems to be a kind of disconnect as though even when we are chatting away in English they are somehow speaking a different language to me.

I don't have this problem with Ibos by the way.

I think I have mentioned
before that I used to have evening classes in Igbo and I've associated with quite a few Igbos.

I don't know if anyone remembers Colonel Ojukwu
the man who who used to be the leader of Biafra.

Believe it or not he ultimately settled down in the Hackney Area of London where I used to see him.

Most of the successful Africans one encounters in this country who seem to be doing all right for themselves are Yorubas. They make up many of the doctors, accountants and solicitors whose names are full of "O"and "A" and they're called things like Adeyemi or Olusanya. So too are an awful lot of staff in care homes.

Yoruba kids seem to do very well at school up to a certain age in Britain. They get better GCSE results on the whole than white british pupils.

However they also tend towards a lot of language delay, that is to say late speaking and they tend to be more prone to mental diseases like autism in childhood and schizophrenia in adolescence than white Europeans.

This is most likely because the risk for schizophrenia generally for people from West Africa tends to be higher than for White Europeans.

Of course the thing which many people most associate Nigeria with is scams
and it is the Yoruba who are behind almost all of them.

You are very unlikely to find a Hausa or Ibo at the back of a scam, but scams are like food and water for certain Yorubas.

Being tricksy or dishonest is something which seems to run through Yoruba culture.

I don't think this is a genetic
thing.

I'm sure there is not a stretch of DNA which codes for being scheming and devious, but on the other hand I imagine that growing up in a certain culture might do it.

It almost seems to be second nature. Anybody who's ever worked with Yoruba people will know what I'm talking about
here.

Even when they have straightforward jobs
in social care many of them seem to be up to something suspicious.

They are often making secretive telephone calls or you will find that they are known by more than one name or something about their background story doesn't add up.

The practice of having more than one name is very common amongst Yorubas you'll hear a Nigerian Yoruba
say something along the lines of:

My real name is Yetunde but at church they call me Ezekiel; or

My cousin's name is Adesola and that is what some people know me as but in my passport it says that I am Obaloluwa.

Seriously this is not an exaggeration as anybody who has interacted much with Yorubas will know.

The other thing which many people notice with Yoruba people is a tendency towards
eccentric behavior.

The conduct of the average Kikuyu from Kenya is as normal as anybody else but this simply does not seem to be the case with most Yorubas.

I have no idea if this is connected in some way with the tendency towards
autism and schizophrenia but the fact is an awful lot of Yorubas come across as odd.

I'm curious to know whether other people have observed this about Nigerians in
general or Yorubas in particular.

I would also be interested to know how many people when they make generalizations about Africans are basing these more upon Nigerians than
any other nationality.

Mikester:
Good evening, I posted this here cause of traffic. Pls help me out. Thanks.

I have this issue that has been bothering me. A dirty nail from a garbage heap at a site I went to work punctured my right foot last 2 weeks both front and middle of my right leg. I yanked it out causing little of the blood to flow out and I managed to walk to get a bus back to my hometown.

On arrival, I heat up a little cover of red oil on a knife and applied it at the two spots and afterwards closed up the injury with the knife, bearing the pain the whole while.

Eventually, Last week about two - five days, I could walk a bit well but after some time, the pain started to get back and now for the past three days, the leg began swelling up to what we have in the picture.

I consulted a pharmacist and she gave me some drugs including ampiclox (don't know if I got the spelling right) assuring me it will work.

I begun the dosage yesterday but I am a bit worried cause the swelling begun some days ago when I tried using hot water to try quicken the healing.

I just want to be sure if the hot water isn't going to negate the effects of the drugs I'm taking cause I'm in pains here. Thanks for your submissions.

Pls help for more audience.

FamilyRe: Could He Have Ulterior Motives By Disagreeing To This? Should I Opt Out? by drdeath: 3:07pm On Dec 04, 2021
Mercychen:
Hi fam.

Something has been bothering me of late and leaving me emotionally and mentally stressed and drained for the past weeks and I'm cut between the devil and the deep blue sea.

There's this bro we're trying to see if we can work things out. though, I never really wanted anything relationship again or at least for now until I'm decided later in the future on what I really want for myself.

Before, I delve into the main discuss , let
me quickly highlight how it all started.

Some months back, My publisher came to deliver the books I ordered for. So while sorting the books, he just got teasing me like " Babes, na wa o. What's up with your romantic life now?. I've never seen you pulling with anyone. It's always work, biz Money money money I see you pursuing. Lol... I just told him, guy, free me abeg and I went on counting the books at the boot of his car.

He now walked up to me and said, on a more serious note, what is happening? So I told him it's a personal choice cos I dont have the strength for relationship brouhaha now. He agreed with me that truly its not easy and even as a married man, he too feels the heat but the good thing is, he married in the Lord. So I should choose wisely from among the brethren.

So he said, he has this family friend, an eligible bachelor, who wants a decent lady and I'm the one that comes to mind each time the guy mentions it because since he's be dealing with me, he can vouch that I'm a very honest, hard-working and decent lady. So he would want the bro to have me.
That was how I got to meet bro.

Now fastforward to the main reason of this post.
There was this particular day we tripped out to cool off and discuss about US. So we got talking and planning on how to build our home in a way that we will not be caught unawares with some setbacks and unplanned responsibilities. So the issue of children came up and I suggested we have only one, which he reluctantly accepted after much convincing. So we tried to look at ways we can maintain that decision and I suggested a vasectomy. citing the possibilities of health risks (as a result of mismatches ) and failures that might occur if the family planning is done on me but with vasectomy, no issues. He looked me in the eyes and said, "my darling" no!

I was dumbfounded.... And became a little worried because, if he has no plans of having more children, why would he kick against the idea of a vasectomy?

If we are going to be one and follow one course, why shying away from a plan that will benefit us as a couple and a family?

Could it be, he only agreed to have one with me and plans to have more else where?
Is vasectomy a life threatening condition?

I was still trying to wrap my head around his refusal, when he said, it will be done on you ( the family planning). That instant, I felt all alone, like im on my own. So I told him I needed to cool off, and he said feel free.
I left the tent and went to the waters prentending to be playing with the water. He came and dragged me out of the water. we strolled without a word and I asked him to take me home. He did.

He called when he got home. I was cold to him so, he promised to call again but since then Ive refused to pick his calls or reply his texts.

The big question is ..
WHY DID HE BLUNTLY REFUSE A VASECTOMY?

COULD HE HAVE ULTERIOR MOTIVES?

IS IT NOT BETTER TO OPT OUT NOW THAN PRETEND I DIDN'T GET THE MESSAGE AND END UP IN REGRETS?

WHAT DOES IT MEAN WHEN A MAN KICKS AGAINST VASECTOMY?
It seem you do drugs and if you don’t,you must be suffering from a psychiatric problem.
Why are you being disturbed by is non-adherence to vasectomy?
Why don’t you tie your own womb?
You want him to do vasectomy but you do not want to tie your womb.
You must be very selfish that is why you are still single.
The Merciful Lord will protect men like that from selfish women like you.
Please continue reading your useless books that you are married to.
A neurotic selfish nuisance of a pathetic slowpoke.

Why would a woman abandon her own kids? Even if u don't want the man, can't u take your kids to your parents or even siblings and look after them?

And what's wrong if a man takes care of his kids? Are you saying that raising children should be the sole responsibility of a woman? Peradventure a wife dies, is the husband not supposed to cater for their kids?

Look, the problem that man has is not because his wife left him, but rather because he wasn't proactive enough to figure out what he would do if his wife left him.

There is no reason why a man cannot raise his kids by himself when a woman can do so singlehandedly for years, and without any form of support.

I don't feel sorry for the man, and in his next world, he should learn that being a man isn't all about impregnating a woman, but also about learning the act of parenting.

Hello my Nairalanders,

I will go straight to the point and won't waste your time. I just recently got married let say 3weeks now, my wife was a virgin when I met her and we didn't have sex not until our wedding night. On the wedding night, I couldn't penetrate in as it was difficult for both of us because she always feels serious pain anytime I tried to enter. Finally I was able to enter on the third day, even at that it was just the small part of penise that was able to enter but mehn she scream so loud but sha I could confirm the blood.

After that we've had series of love making and I always go slow as I know that's her first time, but anytime am about to go in, she always feel pain both during and after sex. Sometimes the pain will reduce and while atimes the pain will be so much that I will have to stop the love making as I couldn't take it while seeing her in pain, she would want me to continue because she wants to satisfy me and because I could wait all this while without having sex.

Before our wedding, we decided to do some check up for any kind of infection so as not to take any chances for anything that would ruin our sexual life, and we were treated accordingly. After this experience of pain, we had to surf the net to know what could cause the pain, and some of the results and things that could lead to can be pain during sex are: genitals wart, lesion, blisters around the genitals, scratching and having burning sensation around the genitals etc I checked her vagina to see if there's such I didn't find any and she also claims she doesn't scratch or experience any burning sensation.

Pls to all the doctors in the house and to those that have had such experience pls help this guy and his wife. I was on celibacy for two years o and now that I'm ready to enjoy sex now this one come dey show up.
No problem Bro.
She was a Virgin. That is hw it is.After sometime she will be cool.
