Pls o, I bin wan ask since: how do u mums cope with the 2ww? The thing tire me o! CD24 today and my cycle is 30 days. I'm not finding the wait funny o! I actually don't want to count, but I can't help it. My greatest dream is to go to the hospital to treat malaria one day and my doctor will say "Madam, u r 8 months pregnant" LMAO! Don't I just wish! Or "Madam, your baby is coming" and I'm like "I didn't know I was pregnant!"

R u guys sure I don't have malaria?

@Goldenbaby, while there doesn't seem to be scientific proof that lifting ur legs works, it can't hurt. In fact, go ahead jare. Put pillow under u as u bd, then, if possible, lift ur legs and sleep off. Add pineapple core to the list too. Don't stop taking folic acid; it's very important to baby's development. It is well. Take a cue from Flakeey. When things like this happen, just smile and don't show anybody that you are upset. Don't even report to your DH, report to God.
I can imagine what is going through your mind, but just remember that this is one of the stories that you will remember with a smile when you hold your babies in your arms.

Nictos, that story reminds me of myself like 2 months ago. Hmmmm, my sisters, I saw some comments, I think sunnewsonline, one pastor o in Gwarinpa here and testimonies of women. I thought to myself, no harm in trying, since na God. I added him on bb, got an appointment for the next day. I went to see him o, but immediately I stepped into his office, I felt something was not right. In fact, the only reason DH agreed for me to go is because he knows I'm very, very sceptical. Immediately that feeling came, I was on my guard. He told me there was someone in DH's family that is trying to frustrate me out of my home, and the person is behind DH's aggression towards me. Inside, I laughed. Aggression ke? Somebody that is telling me God's time is the best? LMAO! I just knew that maybe most women he sees tell him their husbands are antagonistic towards them, so he felt it must apply to me too. I kept quiet. He said I should start praying, calling the name of God, I did o. He said I should repeat everything after him, I did, but I kept one eye open. He noticed something was wrong and said 'it's like you are not taking this seriously' I said , haba, I am o.

After the prayer session, he brought out one small bottle of 'Holy' water. He said befor he gives me the water, I must sow seed for it. Toh, I went to his receptionist, took an envelope and put 2000 in it. The receptionist took the envelope to him, and he called me back in. He said I paid 2000 and that it was too small. That he got the water from Israel, bla bla bla. As he was talking, the receptionist brought a piece of paper and said I should write my name, my mother's name and my village. In my mind, something just clicked! The only place I've ever seen people calling someone's mother's name is in Yoruba movies when they want to do jazz. That was when I knew why I had been feeling uneasy. I had stepped into a modern day babalawo's office.

I quickly thought about what to do. I knew I couldn't even leave my money with him. I said , ok, let me rush to the nearest atm. I asked him if 20k would be ok, he said if that's what God pushed me to give, it would be fine. I wrote down some fictitious names on the paper. I told him to pls give me that 2k, because I needed to buy fuel. That I hadn't planned to go and come back again. He gave it back to me. I entered my car and zoomed off. On my way, I started kabashing and crying. I called DH and told him to meet me at home. I explained everything to him and we prayed seriously about it. I asked God for forgiveness for even stepping into the place and allowing the man lay hands on my head.

After 2 hours, he sent me this message:
Daughter of zion,
I was abt tellin u dat i'll help u & u shud com back 2 sow wen u av b4 u said u were goin 2d ATM.
Dont let d devil make u miss ur blessing.
I'v droped d anointed water & instruction of use wit my PA as am flyin 2 Lagos.
U can go 2d office & pick it up.

@Cjnone, I'm speechless. One woman here who I used to call friend too just gave birth to twins last 2 months. When she told me how she did it, I defriended her sharply! The same thing o, this time in Osun state. I was asking her when she told me she was pregnant 'have you gone for scan'? She said they told her scan will not show the pregnancy, infact the only positive blood test she did was in that particular hospital. LMAO! How naïve can one be? I defriended her cos I happen to know that she was perfectly aware of what was going on. 9 months reach, she just knew she was having twins, but if you ask her, she will say she doesn't know the sex since scan is not picking. She went to Osun by herself and came back with a boy and girl. She said something happened during the delivery, that's why her breastmilk wasn't flowing. Since the day I went to see the babies, I ran abeg!

@Opellistic, I'm sure Beloved1993 will explain better, but an OPK will not tell you 100% if you are ovulating or not. OPKs detect LH surges, but sometimes your body surges and you still don't ovulate. BBTs too are only good after the fact, ie, you would have already ovulated when you notice via BBT, but if you've been keeping a calendar already, then it will be good for u. But even that isn't 100%. I think the only 100% way to know if you are ovulating is by scan (abi is it ultrasound?) You have to do the scan like 3 days within the period. It will tell if follicles are developing, it will tell you if the follicles are mature, etc.

@Safe06, that hospital used to be in zone 3, quite near my house. I went there once with DH when we had malaria to get shots. The hospital was quite run down and he was a bit ill. Recently also, I noticed the hospital is in the process of demolition.

Cjnone, there's this other Dr I saw at one time, Dr. Odiegwu, he works in Garki Hospital. He was very nice, he seemed to know what he was doing, but I stopped seeing him because of the hospital itself. He scheduled me for a HSG and can you believe the day of the HSG, PHCN struck and there wasn't any light in the theatre? The HSG guy actually went out to get a rechargeable lantern after putting the speculum in my something. DH was waiting outside and he was shocked when he saw the guy coming back with an electric lantern. When I saw him with the lamp, I told him to kindly remove his property from my kini, and that I wouldn't continue with the HSG. I'm not joking, I was left with that speculum inside my vee for not less than 45mins, all for nothing. Imagine my walk as I left the hospital!
I stopped going there after that, but I heard recently that he has his own clinic now in Gwarinpa. If you like, you can go and see him in Garki Hospital to schedule an appointment at his own clinic.

@Cjnone, try Dr. Ugona at Carmelwood in Kado Estate. I heard a lot of good things about him from a lot of different sources before I started seeing him myself.

@Nictos, I'm sending a billion hugs your way. I'm soooooooo happy for you. I love Safe06's suggestion on how to tell your DH the wonderful news. I can only imagine what will happen when he finds out.

@joyfulmum, in addition to the advice Safe gave you for boosting count, every morning, give him hot milk mixed with honey. It must be original honey. If you have a PAX herbal around you, they have original honey. Mix a tablespoon of honey in a tall glass of hot milk. You can add 1/8 tsp of cinnamon to the drink. My dh had low count too, when I went to India for fibroid op, the dr that was assigned to me gave me this tip. It really helped. At this point, it pays to buy measuring cups and spoons. If DH is willing, he can also take folic acid and zinc as a daily routine. I can't say for sure whether it was the supplements that worked, or whether it was the honey drink. DH did all at the same time. He still does it now, it has become part of his daily routine. Good luck dear.

Hiiiiii every1. I've been reading and following for a while now. I love this thread; the advice, the humour, you guys are what a woman needs when she feels down.
I've been married for 4 years now, had 2 fibroids removed in 2011, got pg for the first time barely a month after the removal. Lost the pg at 3months.

@Lizzyslaw, hmmm, my sister, I too was saying at least let me get pg for once, but trust me, it's not easy. I went on to have 4 more miscarriages after that (which I'm sure will NEVER happen again, in Jesus' Name), but imagine the pain, the heartbreak!
My prayer for all reading this is :No more casting of our young! Those of us who have never been pg will be and will carry to fulfilment!

The last mc was in early 2012, since then, nothing! DH and I have decided to go the ivf route, we plan to do it in May, before then, however, we plan to experiment with at home insemination, generally just have fun till May.
