Pearl1910: Trust me Bazoo can express himself perfectly well...I told u guys he is like that guy in secondary school who will never let you know his secret to passing exams, who will play with u so hard in d day but reads deep in d night alone, who will tell u exams was very tough but comes out with an A. Smart people understand what Dru is trying to do. Lol very on point... After chilling with 1 of my IT guys over the weekend ... He now broke it down Those guys doing 2 or more IT jobs are actually outsourcing those jobs to someone in Nigeria.. And paid them whatever they agree on ..... But my boy told me that these people will not tell you that.. He said himself can do 2 jobs , but by doing that he is giving out company personal information out .. He said he access to credit information of clients address etc. If he now out source it out those informations will be at the risk........ He stated that your IP address can monitor and they will known your location where u working at and can query u about it if something goes..... He stated that people have been sacked for that.. Once they are sacked they now jump from 1 company to another. He said alot of these guys are bouncing from 1 job to another..... He mention that once u apply for job interview. Some companies will ask to take your face picture .. These allows them to verify you while you are on.. They will be able to match the person doing the work. But if have multiple jobs and you are outsourcing it to Nigeria to other countries . than u are in trouble and alot of these guys will quit and look for another job.. Also the person you outsource the job to might get another offer or cheaper offer.. That person will just drop your work and go for the highest bidder.... He said alot of people will not tell you .. They will tell you they are making certain amount money etc. But they will not tell you how they are making the money.. He said these has been going on for years . He said the Indians are the cheapest.. You can pay them $50.00 for a job and they will get done........ When the BAZZ001 guy was talking about this IT u make more money blah blah .. I was curious and I wanted get more information. But like you said he is type of guy that will hide things from you.. He will not want to help you....... I think alot of people know what am talking about.. But they will not come out and back it up.. They will keep it secret and just say make everyone find their way....... Now if someones tells you he/she makes an absurd amount doing IT.. You can now ask them if they are outsourcing the jobs out This is my final topic on these... I hope am able to enlighten others .... |

I bet he’s envying Dababy and a few other African American artists who’ve featured on Nigerian records. That is Subjective.... based on or influenced by personal feelings, tastes, or opinions
It is bigger in Europe than USA..... This is why African artist collaborate with American artist to reach a bigger audience....... I barely hear Afro beats on the radio compare to USA artist..... Afro beats music is geared towards particular audience ......... It is Atlanta that is running the music industry now and artist from down South artist.. Nobody is bumping Afro beats in their cars in summer time..... People are aware of Afro beats , but they are not messing with it like u think .... |

donbrowser: That's false again. Testers are massively needed in the USA hence the need to take 3 or more jobs. Testers are really hard to come by and you're barely attached to a company because you are really needed. USA do not have enough testers. If you understand what the job is also all about, you will know I'm telling you the fact.
Leave Baaz alone biko. Have you mentioned the business you do in USA? But u never take the time to ask me .. If u don't ask how u would know.....am not a mind reader |

donfortune48: Dru23 have been an enemy of progress here for a long time. He attacks anyone that suggests a better growth plan here. I've never seen him support the idea of people traveling out / learning a good high paying skill / taking jobs with growth prospect. His only advice is for people to pick up rental cars and keep driving. Nothing more. The only way he believes anyone can succeed in this country is by driving uber.
Someone traveled 2020 and he's making over 200k with 2jobs already, but dru23 is rather seeing it as suffer head. Forgetting that the person is just 2yrs over there and will earn higher with time. Many drivers that started HP here since 2020 are still struggling to pay off the 4m they signed for the HP. That's about 8k dollars in 2yrs, moving Lagos up and down. And dru is saying that someone doing 2 jobs to make 200k dollars is suffering. When even pearl1910 that has many cars on rental equivalent of number of dangote trucks in Naija cannot boast of 10k dollars per year.
Please no one is discouraging others from joining uber. Especially young graduates. Our message here have always been for people that don't have better option to uber to please jump into it, but should never relax or get carried away by the little money they make driving. Always have an exit plan. Save up and go into better things as soon as possible. If you have what it takes to leave the country please do.

BAZ001: My belle dey sweet as Fibel, northbird and Donbrowser dey add icing to the beautiful cake served by Fibel
I no get dru23 strength again, on this matter I’m an observer
Lol.. Fibel has contributed in 1 post than you have done.... Now Fibel was able to give details on types of IT a person can. This is what have been asking you to do. He was able to give at least 3 IT that a person can do from home... Cloud software engineers Automation test engineers Penetration testers Scrum masters IT project managers Cyber security experts Now this is what I wanted you to do .. Which you never did.. It is like someone that wants to invest uber. At least I can point them to the right path and tell them the type of cars to use for uber...... Now with the list of IT jobs listed above by Fibel ... The audience or reader will now go and Google those types of jobs ... And see which 1 will benefit them .. At least they have something to go by ....... Now I Google Penetration Tester. It seems like an ok job .. The entry salary for that job is $87k per year and the highest is $138k per year..... Fibel has given me more tools to work on.. This are the things I was asking of you to list........ Now if I wasn't running a business I will seriously look into it . but if someone is asking for advice on IT job to do I will Recommend it to them........ Now in terms of doing 2 or more IT jobs from home. IT companies are not happy about that. This will greatly affect productivity... Telsa Elon Musk stated that he wants all their staff to come back to the office fully .. And if you can't do it than be ready to look for another job. Which I greatly support.. We need people back in the office fully so that we can the best out of them .. As a business owner I will never support remote work . Fibel mention taxes: The more money you make the more you get tax .. He mention getting tax like 25% or there about.. He didn't make sense to me because I pay at least 30% in taxes . Now imaging doing 2 or more jobs .. You end up working for uncle "Sam" IRS . All that working 2 or more jobs is slavery to me ..lol I know some nurses that make around $35 per hour. Which is about $ 72k per year.. This is 40 hrs a week and anything after 40hrs is overtime and now becomes $52.00 per hour.. Must nurses just wan do 40 hrs and go home.... Now the smart nurses will go do their masters in nursing . And become a NP Nurse practitioner. They make roughly between $120k per year to $150k doing only 40 hrs a week. And they are not stressing killing or bending their backs .. This is what I call working smart .............. And also as a NP you can set up your own practice and make more money. You will make very good money ......... The goal is to work smart , work less and make more money. Even if you are doing 2 IT and talk say it is easy etc. You still have to log in for certain amount of hours. You are still devoting your time whether work is slow or busy........... I came to work smart not hard .. If am putting that much time for any job , I rather do it for my business... I say no to slavery by working 2 jobs ..... Can't come and kill myself and work myself to death o. Work will always be there .. Once person drop dead from working 2 or more jobs.. Life continues and you will be easily replace....... But if you drop dead working for yourself .. Hopefully you family will inherit whatever millions you left behind .. At least you left them a legacy ......... YOLO : YOU ONLY LIVE ONCE .........today was my off day to relax and chill with my guys.. Next week na to load my oyel .... It is tough loading , but I know say am doing for my future and investment .... My off the grid investment .. If u know u know ..

Fibel: I will just like to admit that you're right even though I know that Nigeria and the US have a similar tax rate system that sees your tax increase with your income. But for someone who earns between 70k to 160k per annum there, its still the same 25 % (or perhaps 28 at most there in yankee) that we pay in Nigeria(for those that earn above 3m per annum) here or with a slight difference...its only those that haven't had corporate jobs here in Nigeria that will travel abroad and complain of taxes. People should learn to make research on their own and stop believing in hearsay about taxes.
I don't get all the talk about high tax rate overseas unless you're earning above 160k which I know you are aware of, that might shoot your income tax rate to over 30%, I guess you know that there are people that pay lesser tax there too..its only logical that if you earn more, you will pay more. Those that offered courses in taxation will certainly know these things.
So if I can get an extra 50k per year after taxes with my 2nd job doing something I love and with ease , why will I settle for one?. I'm not one for argument superiority, this is all for enlightenment but not to things that are easily verifiable from our people and colleagues there. I really don't want to get into details... But I get tax alot that it is unfair to me .......... Example : Now for a single man in the USA making 6 figures or more and the cost of living is High .. That 6 figures becomes nothing ... I have been audited about 4 times by the IRS . The more you make the more you get tax. So na to think outside the box For reasons known to me , I will not want to talk about taxes anymore.. Also the cost of living is High in my state.. For you to be ok and be comfortable , u will need to make at least 6 figures income .... The cost of 1 bedroom apartment is around $2k per month .. The average cost of single family home will cost you around $500k . At least u go budget that amount.. Anything less than that na waste of time......... Even if you are making $60k per year after tax etc . you will be leaving pay check to pay check....... I would love to elaborate more .. I no get power to dey explain.. |

Fibel: Please sir, don't be mischievous. You know that was a typo and I meant per year.
This is supposed to be a learning opportunity for people who want to learn and grow especially for people in e-hailing that don't like driving and also don't have the opportunity to know this. If it wasn't for someone who introduced me to my current IT field, I'd never had know about it not to talk of delving into it. Don't deny younger people that opportunity by throwing bants over serious stuffs like this. Alot of people are reading this thread low key and learning. We need to be careful on how we pass information..... I keep saying that I don't have issues for people japping. But for once he has not given details or information that can help others to Japa. All he talks about is japa and IT ... What advice has he given in terms of schooling etc. Has he talk about school cost or any valuable information that will help the audience make better decisions......... I will use myself for example .. I detail my uber experience here. I was able to detail my experience and give pointers on how to run the business type of cars running cost... My contribution on uber thread was able to give any potential investors on ways to run a business. I had so many people calling me on how to run the business. I didn't just tell people go invest in uber without giving them the necessary information that will help them...... Doing 2 IT jobs.. U stated that your friend does 2 IT jobs and makes over $100k a year. But with the right information you will make that amount with 1 job and have time for family....... Doing 2 or more jobs will kill you in taxes.. You will end up working for "uncle Sam" the IRS....... If you are doing 2 IT jobs, u are not better off than Uber drivers in Yankee. I know some of my friends doing uber and they can make $3k a week before taxes.. That is about $156k a year how are u better off than them ......... The goal here if you are doing 9 to 5 is work less and make money .. I just do your 40hrs a week and make $ 100k a year ..... This is why I started doing business in Nigeria . The government was rapping me with taxes and I didn't come to count bridges either in Nigeria or Yankee ..... You stated that people are doing better than does that came 5 to 15 years ago ... But for me I want to do better for the next generation . So that they will not have to work 2 jobs .. They will have more options to choose from............ If you open eye this world na scam ... You need to make ur own way and succeed and think outside the box ... As I dey now I dey party. I no fit do 2 jobs and have government tax my butt.

Fibel: Dru, I have always enjoyed your posts and openness on this thread but I think baz001 is right on this one. There are different IT fields where one can do two jobs or even 3 comfortably. That your friend is a programmer and decides to stick to one job is his choice but then again, I agree that programming jobs are tasking fields that demands attention especially if you're working for start up firms. There are IT fields one can go in and comfortably do two to three jobs. Jobs like - Cloud software engineers Automation test engineers Penetration testers Scrum masters IT project managers Cyber security experts
IT is a broad field and if you don't get the right information you'll delve right into programming and think that's all to IT. Along the line you'll find out it's tasking and you weren't cut out for it. I have a friend who moved to the US in 2020 and he does two jobs comfortably, earns over 100k usd per month in each of them and can work from anywhere. He's Cloud software engineer and literally does two jobs. Told me he's looking to add a third when he's done with another certification course. There's nothing like enough money and if he can do two jobs to earn double per year comfortably why settle for less. I have another friend in who is a pen tester and he's with 2 companies in that same US. These day's youth are smarter now, even while working, they are looking out for Jobs that are less tasking but pay more and they can even do two jobs while at it. One of the highest paying jobs in the IT field in the US and worldwide which is cybersecurity is not as hard as people think and you only need python basics to proceed with it. Programming is just but a subset in the IT field, the trick is to learn one of these key languages - Java, python and Javascript and go into a field like data science, Test automation, cyber security, AI. Then sit down after learning, maximize your time and earn more money. Web development which most people just call programming is what we mostly know here in Nigeria as IT, this might not be as high paying in the future and is gradually getting saturated. I am in Test automation and I can tell you that I can do three jobs if I want here in Nigeria. I work remote and I control my time and resources. All I do is to have my test suite ready and when handed a project I run my tests, get results, analyse and that's it. I tried coding( web Dev) but that wasn't for me because I didn't have the patience for that . I dropped my 2nd job last month because I am now taking a new programming language class as it is a requisite for the new role I am eyeing . All these because I want to be ready for the market when japa comes. And I just got into the IT field this year.
As Bazoo rightly said, young graduates who move to the US within the last five years are more likely to make more money because they are better informed and armed with the right skills than those who went way before them.
You can still be driving and learning at the same time. Read, research and know where your strength lies as IT can accommodate all.. But that's if you're between 28 - 40 with the zeal to get into the new future where IT will be the real deal in the market sector.
I posted here one time last two years or so that I needed a driver for one of my cars (camry sport 09) but I was advised against putting it up by someone here. I decided to not put it on e-hailing as I had a Corolla coming in. And when the Corolla came in, I looked at the market and decided it was not worth me (personal opinion) so I sold it. Things got rough last last year and I started bolt with the camry. I made the switch this year into IT (no certification, just knowledge) and stopped driving this year. Nothing beats the peace and money that comes with doing what you love and at your own time.
I have learnt a lot from this thread and I hope this will also spur some people to see this as a stop gap, give yourself a target of 6 months to 1 year to stop driving and use that time to learn and upskill.. Finally, e no easy but e go easy if you put your mind there.
Special respect to Pearl1910 for your utmost maturity, Felicity,Dru, Pope, gentlelife, you guys keep the thread going and informative... $100k per month ×12 = $1.2m per year

pope191: Oga Dru you see if there's one thing that irritate me most in church is when people comes to give testimony on how they just got visa. It took me Mr President tenure to understand the force behind it, testimony is minor... infact they should mount billboards on major roads and use convoy at least 16 cars to the airport. That's how bad this country has sink.
Regardless, I am not saying opportunities are not here, but it is in the hands of few. What do we really need? The basic things of life. Living in Lagos alone, have a toll on one's mental health. A fertile ground will help seed to grow proper, that is the difference between here and there. The energy an average driver put to work here, if discharged in equivalent to dollars? Trust me, the peace of mind and level ahead are not comparable. Let's be honest with ourselves, you stayed back because it its favourable, so why discourage other people.
Ye! I know it is not easy out there, I understand you can't run away from tax and you have to hustle for every penny... but in the long run, does it worth it? Look at the frustration going on in this country. We are already at short one merely being a Nigerian. From driver pooing to fight a lastma, woman going mental at gas station, spend 4 hours to get to work and 4 hours after work (that's 8 hours of a man's life on the road). Yesterday, it took 2 hours for me to get gas and after the stress, i still have to drive. So many werey everywhere.
I don't want to sit here and start telling you about business and fleet of cars. Even people that are selling hair seem to be cashing out. I marvel the day a lady told me she bought hair 500k. Like seriously? The projection is to be happy and observe great height with time. Trust me, Baz is not the only one hitting on this, I am yet to see anyone around me over there talk good about this country outside being a place of jollifcation once they leave. This *Had I know, I would have left on time* is what they kept singing. They all can't be wrong and mad at the same time.
Inbtw: I feel we are not good at tapping the opportunities in our country, we've been conditioned to think one way. Growing up, I remember majority want to go to school and secure a work on the island. Took reality for me to understand that ain't life, even if the folks involved in it today walks with heads up and shoulder high. When I see someone who works on the island and resides on mainland with a 200k pay. I kind of shake my head for them. I know they are shaking theirs for me too it is called perception and very understandable. Foreigners are very good at tapping the juice in our land. They understand we are only good at consuming and they do take real good advantage of that. I am not discouraging people not to Jappa let us make it clear.... My beef is when BAZZ001 comes here belittles drivers saying they need to Jappa But he does open up to them on how to jappa. He can encourage people to take classes or certificate in IT so that once they Jappa they will not struggle etc ... He needs to provide more information. He can advice what states in the USA have low cost rent and better IT jobs... The cost of living in some states is very. You end spending your income on rent....... Some people will jappa with little or no money . And most are ill prepared to jappa .. If he can share is experience of japping than he can help people to make better decisions . but when u come and say jappa this jappa that , but u are informing the audience with information that will help them .. Than there is no point .. It is like saying I found my way , you too find ur way ...... Information is key my brother |

kanuisagoat: If 60-150k dollars per annum before taxes is what people earn then this japa thing is seriously overrated. Well $150k is not bad.. You don't need 2 jobs with that of money. Plus my friend also gets bonuses here and there.. So the money is ok .. Maybe after tax or so his take home salary could $ 120k .... But the job is very draining mentally ....... Also I have friend that does IT in Chevron Nigeria Lagos ... As of 3 yrs ago he makes the equivalent of $120k per year.......The cost of living in Nigeria is cheap so he saves more money and pays less taxes.... He is better off money wise than IT guys abroad. He pays less taxes and cost of living is low .. He was thinking about japping to Canada . He found out that he will not make that type of IT money in Canada...... So japping is not overrated o. You just need to be well informed and what will make you good money. |

Which is fine, but what part of IT are you studying in school . what are the job market for it . He tells you can make 4x amount doing IT than driving etc .. Which is possible , but at least open up to the audience so that they can prepare themselves.... Also he does not talk about school. How much the school cost etc. ... And me personally I don't know much about IT .. But I know friends that are making $60k per year doing IT . And I know another person that makes about $24 per hour and does crazy overtime ... This person works about 80 hours or more per week ..... And my programmer friend that makes $150k per year and bonuses ...... BAZ001: Elaborate on what ? Kukuma kee me... I should state how much I earn on public forum ? Ordinary I’m in US, You don’t believe I, but you want to believe how much I earn. I stay in village according to my guys here that I should come to city, but don’t worry leave me in the village, I enjoy my white community village, drive 5mins to work , no heavy taxes, have everything I need , same malls in big cities, parks and beach. But no crime , no gun shots , if you call 911 3 police cars will come, with ambulance and fire truck , cos they are bored and low crime rate.
I should leave Lagos and come to be living in big cities with heavy taxes, or wearing bullet proof vest to go out cos one crazy guy can decide to shoot people.
I carry Lagos street sense come here... One thing I will tell you for free is that all the people that have been jappaing in the past 5years are doing way better than people that jappa 10/15yrs ago.
https://www.reactiongifs.com/r/tRbwa39.gif Fair enough.... What area of IT do you do. We need the audience to be well informed so that they can better make sound choices... The questions am asking are fair and balance questions..... |

BAZ001: I know a single naija IT girl, she did house warming in May this year, she hasn’t spent 4years abroad but bought her house and paid full mortgage... she paid all. While uncle that has been here for 15years is still paying house mortgage. She does 3jobs no time , just raking in money, Na she we dey follow. Trump open the door for us ( before it used to be only Indians & Chinese chupping the money ) but God bless Trump he shook the table and we blacky can chup too. While you guys (old school ) are busy wasting time, trying to become citizens, marry or go to uni for MSc do all sort of arrangee just to get into system. We here focusing on the money. If I do 2jobs from comfort of my home and earn what I ought to earn in 10 yrs in 5yrs, why not After all we work now to play later
Let me conclude Everybody hear ooh ... according to our abroad uncle and Pearl1910... abroad no easy If you making good money, there is no reason for you to do two jobs.... When you do 2 jobs when do you have time to rest... This is I keep asking you what type of IT job you are doing.......... We need to be well informed so that we don't have to do 2 jobs to survive .. If you are doing IT the job should be enough without getting a second job.... Now a friend of mine that does IT . He is a programmer. He makes around $150k a year.. The job takes so much of his time mentally , he can't do 2 jobs . The job is mentally draining for him ... But again what area of IT do u ..... Now all the questions am asking you are valid questions.. I want to be well informed and I want the audience reading this to be well informed |

Let me conclude Everybody hear ooh ... according to our abroad uncle and Pearl1910... abroad no easy When you say she bought a house.. Do you mean a single family house, townhouse, or Condo ..... Prices of homes varies from state to state..... Now places like Texas, Arizona, Atlanta, Las Vegas . homes are cheaper in those areas... But they pay less in those states........ So which state did she buy a house and she was able to pay full mortgage .. What type of house did she buy etc .. Now the average cost of a house in the USA is around $374, 000 .. Now in my state the average is around $ 575, 000 ..... Now below is the highest paying IT jobs...... Information security engineer — $131,300. DevOps engineer — $137,400. Enterprise architect — $144,400. Technical program manager — $145,000. Software architect — $145,400. Applications architect — $149,000. Infrastructure architect — $153,000. Software development manager — $153,300 Readers keep in mind this salary here is before taxes. You will pay at least 40% in tax.. The more your income the higher u can pay in taxes... So Bazz001 that Nigerian IT girl that paid full mortgage for a house. What area of IT does she do ....... |

BAZ001: Okay I get your point now Abroad no easy ooh, Abroad no easy Dru23 no gree come back easy Lagos Abroad no easy politicians and rich Nigerians send their children abroad ( to suffer abroad right ) Abroad no easy MC oluomo send him children abroad
Abeg how many of this rich Nigerians don buy car for their children to do Uber Since you can earn 150k week in week out driving Uber ?
Una pearl Uber is sweet You are missing the point here bro ......... What type of IT are you doing .... What is the salary range etc ...... If you want to motivate people to jappa u have to give people more information to make sound decisions etc...... For example when I invested in uber ... Alot of my friends wanted to invest ....since I wanted to motivate them ... I basically told them my earnings, expenses . I worked them through how my business operate... If you can recall here .. I explain how I search for cars and explain my landing cost... And also I gave out a detail explanation on how much I spend to get my tokunbo cars ready for uber...... My transparency was able to better prepare any potential investors .... People were calling me and asking question. And I was able to help them .. I didn't have to give people any information .. But I wanted to help and motivate people........ When are trying to motivate people let us give them as much information as much as possible. This will help them to make better decisions.... The sky is big enough for everyone....... |

Gentlelife50: This man rest kwanu, zukwanu ike. Since he is motivated you guys to jappa by learning IT like he did.. You need to ask questions so that you can better prepare yourself. He talks about how you can make 4x than driving etc. But does he talk about how much u can earn a year doing IT etc.. What areas of IT does he specialize in how the job market in that particular field etc .. Does he do trouble shooting over the phone etc..... .. On his earlier post he stated that his friends advice him to work from home doing 2 jobs at the same time.. Why do you need to do 2 job IT job working from home. If the pay is that good why do 2 jobs...... He is painting a pretty picture here, but we don't have the facts and figures that allows us to make better inform decision ...... And me myself might be interested doing IT .. The more am well informed the better I can mentally prepare myself .. I know some IT guys that work from home and trouble shoot . These guys basically are IT for the health care field.. They make about $17hrs per hour... But me I no fit do work for $17 per hour . |
