Best analyses of GEJ and past elections ever. I can swear that Beaf will not comment on this thread. |
Best analyses of GEJ so far, even by one of his own. I can swear Beaf will not comment on this thread. |
I miss Aisha. She gave my threads prominence and some made front page. Wherever you are give ur friends a shout out! |
"Once we had a President with no kidneys, now we have one with no balls" - Bakare. GEJ does not have d balls to do it. |
A people get the type of leader they deserve. I conclude that the BB team was way too upright for a corrupt nation. |
I left a BB photo on my FB profile to cont reminding Nigerians of a +ve change they rejected. |
I give Jarus and GenBuhari the pass so for their analyses. 4 who cares to know Buhari supporters dey here kampe! |
Beaf is here criticizing Bankole. Is that not the trade mark of the PDP. Beaf, how much did GEJ spend on his campaign? |
Why should I paste this link on my FB to help spread your message of hate? |
The twentieth century had two prominent ideological leanings emerge in the world scene: Socialism and Capitalism. Conservative socialism was practised by nations in Western Europe and had some form of it espoused to their former colonies in Africa and Asia. Extreme socialism (Communism) remained dominant in the former USSR, China, Cuba and some part of eastern Europe. The USA, which was fast emerging as a super power, imitated some form of mild socialism as practised in Britain, but it was better known as a nation of extreme capitalism. With the downfall of the USSR in the late twentieth century, extreme capitalism may have said to have won the cold war between these two ideologies. But that conclusion is being strongly contested by China, a nation given to communism, in the early 21st century. For the sake of those who may want to know, socialism may be mildly defined as a system of government or a people way of life that lay emphasis on equal shares of that nations resources and profit. Conservative socialism will lay emphasis on looking after the weak in society ánd running an inexpensive government and making the worker king. Extreme socialism while endeavouring to imbibe much of what conservative socialism consist of it, will however use the organ of government to lay strict regulation on the shared profit and ensure forced equality. Capitalism on the other hands makes the entrepreneur king. It is a society where the strongest and smartest survive. The disadvantage of the two ideologies is that communism many times leads to fascism, while capitalism leads to a wide separation between the rich and the poor. Their advantages: communism ensures shared profit and the weak being taking care of; while capitalism allows the emergence of the super rich. All of this is stated to show that every nation that will make sure progress must stand on some sound and workable ideological leaning. This probably is the greatest challenge Nigeria is facing. Our nation, leaders and political parties are leaning on unhealthy ideologies. The 2011 elections came down to a choice between two prominent figures: Goodluck Jonathan and Muhammadu Buhari. Jonathan is a Christian and a southerner from a minority group in the oil rich Niger Delta. Buhari is a muslim and a northerner from a majority hausa-Fulani in northern Nigeria. What informed the decision of most Nigerian electorate was not these men’s party manifesto, nor was it any world political ideology they espoused, nor was it their personal integrity or competence; rather the electorate chose between these two men based on two unhealthy ideologies: religion and tribalism. Religion would have been a healthy ideologies because it teaches morality and hard work and most religions have leaders, who have set examples that can be followed. However most people are hypocrites, who mouth a religions sentiments but are far from the practise of its tenets. So when a people choose a man only on religious basis their choice is certain to be erroneous. Also, choosing a leader based on tribe is even of a greater error because the best leaders are never known to come from a particular tribe or nation. That is where the deficiency in the zoning theory. Zoning may be practised within a political party (and that party should be faithful to it) but it should never be imposed on a whole nation. I confess that I was a victim of this false ideological leaning until Tunde Bakare supported Buhari for presidency. Bakare is a man whose views I respect, so I considered Buhari for who he was truly and not what religion he was of or what tribe he belonged to. I read the CPC manifesto and what I saw impressed me. I supported Buhari for presidency and voted for him. Though he lost, I am convinced I did not waste my vote. I think the true voters of the 2011 elections are those who transcended religion and tribalism to make their choice of who to vote for. Unfortunately in Nigeria such people were very few. How then does Nigeria overcome this false ideological leaning. I believe it must be through education. Our government must be committed to educating it populace, especially the young ones. With time Nigeria will overcome this wrong ideological leaning. I wwas particularly impressed with University of Ibadan students who vowed not to vote for Jonathan, saying that a person needs more than goodluck to pass exams. One must be hardworking, visionary and disciplined; characteristics, they felt the president lacked but Buhari possessed, and whom they voted for. This shows what can come out of a people who are educated. With what the ruling party has done with education this past 12 years, we depend on a miracle to come into a healthy ideological leaning as a nation soon. However, hope is not lost. If the president would keep his promise and leave officer in 2015, Nigerians have the opportunity to choose a leader not based on compromised ideologies but on a sound one that is clearly enunciated in his/her party’s manifesto. |
I did not see a prophet to be married and I strongly discourage doing it. One could do it and get results, but it does not mean it is the right thing to do. Hebrew 1:1, God in times past spoke to us by the prophets but in these days he is speaking to us by His Son whom he sent(paraphrase). What it means is that in those days God would tell you what to do by a prophet but today he would tell you what to do by the Spirit in you. Now what spirit is in you. Truth is, if a person does not know God and does not possess his Spirit, he would seek other mediums for answer to the issues of life. But if you have Him, He is there to guide on major and minor issues of life. The havoc that this spiritualists have wreaked in homes is so much that anyone would discourage their influence on others. But unfortunately many people would still follow them. The point is this if a Spiritualist tells you to marry man A, and the chips are down in marraige and you feel like backing out, you tend to blame those who led you to him. But if you made the decision by yourself with God leading, and problem arise, you go to him and he would help you out of it. By and large 99.9% of the problems analysed on NL are problems that could easily be solved if people would take their commitment to God through Jesus Christ seriously. Sorry, am preaching. But that is all I know. |
Kachichi:I did not mean to sound self righteous and that is why I used phrases likes "what I should do and not what I would do" because I know that it may be a different case if I am in your shoes. But you came all the way to post this in NL because you felt some people may help you. Now its true that you should not make such a thing open but posting a topic like this under an anonimous name could help, just that you must watch out for some advices; like those that encourage you to divorce your hubby. That will certainly not lead to anything. It would hurt you more and it would affect your children's future. But you said " I would forgive him with time". Now that is the glimmer of hope that would bring the breakthrough you need. I need to ask if you are a Christian, because if you are not I confess you do not have the resources to battle this particular onslaught of Satan. But if you are, you would need to draw on the strenght of God through the Power of the Holy Spirit in ernest praying. I hope my advice helps you but if it does not, discard it. You may find help some other way - maybe via counselling. |
I must confess your situation is not enviable and since I have not (and hope not to) experience such before basically all I would be saying would be theory but I pray it helps you. If I was to come into my house someday and I find my wife has cheated on me with a white man what should I do (note, I didnt say what will I do). 1. I expect to be hurt and for that hurt to take time to heal. 2. But because I am a christian I would call upon the name of the Lord to heal me. 3. I must forgive my wife; divorce is not an option, even for a case of infidelity. 4. I would talk to her. Maybe take a vacation and sort it out, without the kids present. 5. I would judge myself. If I have been satisfying her sexually there is a 90% chance she would not cheat on me. 6. I would attack satan; and command him to take his hold off my home. Every single challenge couple have is from the devil. While God seeks to build our homes, the devil seeks to pull it down. I would rebuke the cloud of darkness hovering over my home. 7. I would turn to my wife and give her intense lovemaking; I would show her I can do it better than that SOB white chap, and there is no need seeking outside what can be found inside. 8. I expect it to change me; giving me a new outlook to life. 9. I would come to appreciate my wife more. 10. When I have responded in love to her, my wife would be broken and will for the rest of her life be indebted to me for loving her when she was unlovable. That, my sister, is the story of the Easter season we are in. We all have been unfaithful to God. We have been miserable adulterers. But "while we were yet sinners, Christ died for the ungodly", not when we were perfect but sinners. We today feel indebted to him for his love for us and have chosen to live all of our lives for him. Show the God kind of love to your husband and the God of heaven will heal your home, and begin you both on a path of bliss that you will never recover from. My prayers are with you. |
Sun of god:^^^^^^Now Sun of god has summarized the implication of voting a GEJ into power. |
My wife is a medical doctor that graduated from Ogun state university since 2004. Since then she has done her housemanship in UCH Ibadan. NYSC in Kano. Worked in a number of private hospital in Ibadan too. In 2009 she got employed in FMC Owo. Where she was until 2010, when she had to resign so as to work on starting her residency program and also to be with me her husband. She has just concluded her MPH in community medicine and now is in need of a job. I would appreciate it, if anyone has some link where she could apply and possibly work. She is excellent in clinical skills and has vast understanding of Primary health care. Thank You. - Concerned Husband. |
sleekender:I am glad Papabrowne, the famous author of 7 reasons Buhari would not win, has responded here. Now let me state it categorically clear that the scale was tipped towards aGEJ win and he had all the advantage of winning, but my argument is this if you have all this advantage why not take advantage of it. Why do you have to rig? Those of us who supported Buhari were looking unto to a divine possibility to deliver us from GEJ and he PDP cohorts, but that it did not come now does not mean it will still not come somehow/somewhere. Jonathan has no moral right to ask Buhari to bring his supporters under control. He is the one wronged and it is not his job to keep the security of the states. In developed climes they would have known such could occur and prepare for it with adequate security in place. But you rob a people and you expect them to keep queit. Lastly, the issue of structure that CPC did not have makes sense. This is a new party that takes its strenght from people acceptance of it and not on financial strenght. The CPC has no structure in the west were I am but it got considerable votes here. I argue that it is impossible for GEJ to win so much votes in east and SS because there are hausa community, muslims and yorubas in those places that would vote for Buhari as they did here. Now how about the case of the woman murdered in Abia state because she voted for CPC? What I see here is a subtle method of rigging the elections: flying printed ballot to the north to challenge Buhari's votes and midating CPC supporters in the SE and SS. It may be only in the west were we may say there were a bit of free and fair elections. This elections are better than 2007 but rigging is like water to the PDP and they could not desist from it even in the most well planned elections by Jega. This is the reason the north has gone wild and not because Bakare predicted it. |
1. Buhari lost because most Nigerians electorates are blinded by religious and tribal prejudices. 2. Buhari lost because he is not the incubent and had no stolen resources to propagate his campaign. 3. Buhari lost because the PDP deployed its usual rigging machinery. 4. Buhari lost because Gbagi foundation and co, sponsored by Aso Rock, spent millions in Nigerian newspapers to malign his person. 5. Buhari lost because ThisDay newspapers and co succeeded in telling Nigerians that he is a religious bigot. 6. Buhari lost because Nigerians could not see the gracefulness in this gallant former soldier but would rather resort to cluessness leadership: GEJ. 7. Buhari lost because he did not have money to bribe voters to vote for him. 8. Buhari lost to two sets of Nigerians: those benefitting illegally from GEJ's govt and those too ignorant to give him a chance. 9. Buhari lost because most Nigerians believe in fairy tale goodluck and fate, than hardwork, vision and purposefulness. 10. Buhari lost because God has reserved a better day, and a better time to deliver Nigeria from the oppressive rule of the PDP; this is the beginning of the loosing program of the so called 'winning' majority. Buhari has come to show us it can be done, soon it would be done. |
^^^^^^^^^^^^^^ Sai Buhari, Sai Mai Gaskiy!!! |
It is not Bakare alone who saw that the north will boil if they are cheated in this election; any body who could read the political situation of Nigeria would know where we were going. GEJ had the moral right to give us free and fair elections; he had all the advantages: the SS, the SE and the overwhelming number of christians all over Nigeria who would vote for him from religious and tribal sentiments alone. But just as you cannot take the spots from the leopard, so also you cannot take rigging away from PDP. That is why the north is protesting; and unfortunately it has turned violent. How do you explain GEJ winning 95% of his stronghold and coming to win close to 50% of Kaduna, Buhari's stronghold, if there were no hankiepanky some where. Buhari and El-Rufai as far back as Saturday spoke of planes air lifting already tumb printed ballot papers into the states in the north and no one bothered to investigate. If such happens in the opposition camp, what can we say happened in the SE and SW. I pray the violence in the north stops, but bro, this is the price the nation pays for allowing rigged elections again. And Bakare, the prophet that he is has only prophesied it by saying there would be a wild, wild, north; just as there was a wild, wild, west when the west were cheated in the early 60s' and in 1993. |
Beaf is certainly one name that will not apear here again. The shame will be too much to bear! But for the drumming boy, I will be hear come rain, come shine. BB all the way. |
@ Beaf You either go to sleep, switch on the cantoon network and have your fill or do something reasonable. Your posts in this thread make no sense at all! |
The man BUHARI according to Musa Yar’Adua, Musa Yar’Adua: “Buhari is… one of the few boys trusted by his classmates… quite dependable.” , , Asiwaju Tinubu: “… a man to whom honour is due. And I say honour is all about integrity; honour is about truthfulness, honour is about consistency; honour is about courage and candour; honour is about transparency; honour is about credibility; honour is about character. All these sum up the person of General Muhammadu Buhari. A definitive proof on the life of a great soldier, statesman and now a politician.” Audu Ogbeh: “Buhari is a credible personality and a committed democrat, who believes in the unity of Nigeria.” TheNEWS Magazine: “Buhari regime… have gone down as the most patriotic, honest and sincere in Nigeria’s history.” “Buhari… has made honesty a platform , a quality that makes him a rare specie in Abuja’s corruption ridden society. This man exudes honesty. Everything around his Kaduna office and home speaks of cleanliness and modesty and they seem to reflect an inner cleanliness.” “Buhari is a basics man, who seemed to have conquered such everyday failings of pride, greed that have blighted Nigeria’s political leadership.” Gani Fawehinmi: “ I knew him by his principles, determination and passion to rid the country of corruption.” “When we talk of anti-corruption war, there is no way you will exclude General Buhari,” “I don’t want to hear what a political party is going to do, whether ANPP, or PDP, or NDP, or which other political organization. Tell me who is leading the party, tell me who is leading the government, that’s my concern. It’s a matter of leadership.” The Roundtable, With Tiko Okoye: “General Buhari had gone to visit his (then) running mate – Dr. Chuba Okadigbo – at home during the Christian Lenten season. He reportedly remonstrated the late Oyi of Oyi for having breakfast when he should have been fasting. That is Buhari for you: a man of integrity who takes his religion seriously but would also want others to take theirs seriously too; not the sanctimonious type that preaches one thing while doing the exact opposite.” Asiwaju Tinubu: “What does a personality like Buhari mean to Nigeria? For me, the most important thing is that here is a man who does not live a lie. I repeat, this is a man who does not live a lie. His every conduct reflects his inner convictions. Here is a man who practices what he preaches. Here is a man who never puts on a mask of deception. Here is a man who is never afraid to be what he is. Here is an embodiment of philosophical injuctions.” A Compilation by ARISE NIGERIA TODAY - arisenigeria2@yahoo.com See More |
"It will take total blindness to vote for the PDP in 2011. Only 4 sets of people can vote for the PDP in 2011: (1) those who are intellectually blind. (2) those who are blinded by ethnicity (3) those who are blinded by corruption and therefore afraid of the unknown, should power change hands; and finally (4) those who are suffering from a combination of the above 3 terminal sicknesses" , Prof.Wole Soyinka. |
Making Nigeria Work Once Again Remarks by General Muhammadu Buhari, Presidential Candidate of the Congress for Progressive Change, CPC, at the Public Presentation of the CPC Election Manifesto in Lagos, Wednesday, April 6, 2011. It gives me great pleasure to have this opportunity of standing before you this morning to say a few words about our party and what plans we have for you and the nation in our manifesto. Let me therefore begin by welcoming all of you to the event. Ladies and gentlemen, this is the CPC Election Manifestowhich sets out our election promises and plan of action. Its central and urgent message is that as Nigerians, we mustrestructure the country and change our ways. And in this there is an invitation to each and every one of us to come forward and join the struggle, so that together we take the destiny of this nation in our hands—and change it into a united, prosperous, caring, truly democratic Federal republic. But before we will be able to do this, we must secure, manage and govern the country in a way that releases the energies and potentials of our people and direct these to wholesome ends. Giving this direction is what a CPC government is here to do in order to arrest the nation’s aimless drift. In its 12 years of misgovernance the government of the People’s Democratic Party, PDP, had bastardised the nation. In all this period, it has done very little that is right, even less that is proper, and nothing intrinsically useful or cost-effective. It was as if they only came to pauperise the nation; and it could be said that during their time, the only places that prospered were the cemeteries and the bank accounts of a thieving elite. People in their thousands died due to poverty, hunger, disease and violent crises and violent crimes, as custodians of the nation’s resources smiled their ways to the bank. The wealth, which would have alleviated the people’spoverty; the food, which would have satiated their hunger; and money for drugs, which would have restored them to health; and the resources for the maintenance of law and order, which would have ensured the security of the land, have all been siphoned by this insensitive leadership. As a result, today, we cannot sleep safely in our beds or drive in safety on our highways in safety. Without power, without water and without good roads, we lack all the things other normal societies take for granted. We all know the problems of this country, and we have known them for the past 12 years ago and before; but, apparently, it is only now that the PDP is becoming aware of them, saying that it will try to solve them. So, where was the so-called largest political party south of the Sahara during the last 12 years? What stopped people of the ruling party from giving the nation electric power, something they promised to do after six months of coming to power? What stopped them from securing the nation from communal, religious and political violence and from the new wave of terrorism? How many years do they need to do that? And after this glaring failure they even had the temerity to ask for your votes. How on earth can anyone consider giving his vote to the PDP? Who in his right mind will consider four more years of this open thievery? Who in his senses will elect four more years of betrayal of trusts? Or four moreyears of broken promises? Or four more years of a collapsed and collapsing system? Or four more years of economic mismanagement? Ladies and gentlemen, I am Muhammadu Buhari, and today I am 69 years old; and I am sure I don’t have to remind you that I have fought many battles in my life. I have fought drift and purposelessness in this nation. I have fought corruption and indiscipline. I have fought indolence and the betrayal of trusts. I have fought the Nigerian civil war and struggled for the unity of this country in many other ways. I have had the fortune and privilege of managing national resources in various capacities—as a military commander, as a state governor, as a minister, as head of the Petroleum Trust Fund, and as the head of state of this great country. And in all that I have been and done, I have never touched a kobo of public funds. I say this without pride and with all sense of responsibility and humility; but I challenge anyone in the race for the leadership of this country then or now to dare make the same claim. After being head of state, I am sure I could easily have retired into a life of comfort and ease as an elder statesman, as a contractor or as a beneficiary of any one of the nation’s many generous prebendal offerings. But that is not what I wish to do with my life. And so, if I don’t take any of these alternative courses of action, it should be clear that I am not in this for the love of office or for pursuit after personal glory or in order to achieve some personal goal. Far be it from me that this should be. I need nothing and I have nothing more to prove. I am in this solely for the love of my country and concern for its destiny and the fate of its people. And that is why, despite the many disappointments along the way, I am still in the struggle and will remain in it to the end. I have decided to dedicate the remainder of my life to fighting for the people of this country—until their right is restored to them. We call on you to join us and change the destiny of this nation. And change is what CPC is all about. I am sure you will all agree with me that the question is not whether there we should change, because change we must. The only questions remaining are determining the type of change and the speed with which that change will be implemented. To effect this, we have assembled a team of competent, experienced and patriotic Nigerians to become the vanguard of the change to get the country out the woods andaway from the malaise that has kept it down. We are on a rescue mission to recreate Nigeria and transform it into a powerful and prosperous nation. Our focus will be on improving the efficiency of national economic management; and the reintroduction of national economic development planning and the plan to successfully manage change. The area of emphasis of our government will be on the following five: ensuring security, in which a CPC government will seek the disarmament of all criminal gangs in the nation and securing the entire polity; raising the standard of education and providing quality services at all itslevels; the aggressive pursuit after youth development and youth employment generation; rehabilitating dilapidatedinfrastructure; and the total disarming of the Niger Delta, finding solutions to its social problems and laying down acomprehensive blueprint for the development of the area. Along the way, we also intend to make this nation accountable and corruption-free, and bring morality back to governance. We shall make this nation uncomfortable to those who do not wish to play by the rules. We shall challenge vested interests and erase unearned privileges. Propriety and legality will be our new watchwords; and, hopefully, in time this will become the new business as usual for the nation. It goes without saying that this nation must be set free—from the clutches of a corrupt culture that has stunted the growth and development of democracy. A CPC government will seek to entrench democratic values, uphold the rule of law, respect the independence of the judiciary, and enforce the political neutrality of public service. It is our undertaking that after just one term in office, a CPC government will entrench a new democratic culture that will be impossible to dismantle even by the most tough-minded anti-democrats. We have set our priorities and we shall pursue them relentlessly. I urge you to read our manifesto and see what we have planned for this nation. And when you do so, you will see why, in the circumstance, the only sensible thing to do—is to vote for my party, the Congress for Progressive Change, CPC. It is a young party but it has already set all the others to flight. It will change the way politics is practiced in this country. Our enterprise is truly an ambitious one. It is not just about winning an election: it is about restoring a sense of decency to our society. It is about taking pride in, and respecting, ourselves as human beings and consciously internalising democratic values. Unless we do this, development and true freedom will forever elude us and talents will never flower in the land. But if the answer is democracy, what exactly is the question? The question is: Why are we still not properly practicing it? And that is where CPC comes in—to providethe missing link. And with your support we shall begin to do just that in the next couple of weeks. Thank you very much for your patience and attention. |
WHY THE GENERAL WEPT violation is a terrible crime against women. Some are lured. Some are drugged. Some are forced. It is more painful when it is done repeatedly. The stories of sex slaves the Congo and Liberia make us ask "Are these men or animals?". OBJ wrote a book the "Animal called Man". Some are so wasted that they wake up in the morning they bath, eat and get violated, the afternoon the show continues. Some even lost count of the men who used them. Some got used to the life and were never the same. Some died and others have completely lost their minds. It more terrible when the woman is so brainwashed into thinking that violation is the only way to have sex. A true story is told of a woman at mental home who believed that her husband must beat her black and blue before they can have sex. This is the Nigerian story. Some leaders lured us. Some drugged us. Some forced us. They do it again and again. GEJ is luring us with TV ADs which cost millions of Naira. Nollywood big stars endorse him. These politicians not only know what to do to get girls into beds in cozy hotels in Abuja but they know how to lure a nation into its grave. They give N200 to a person worth at least N200,000 to secure his vote and they pocket the change. We were so drugged that our President was so sick last year and the whole country was kept in bondage. We seemed to forget that the US President gets treated in US. The Saudi leader gets treated in his country. We woke up and took to the streets. We took the rapists by the throat. But the man we fought for was not the victim but was also part of the plan. They use religion and ethnicity to divide us - yet nobody talks about Fashola's religion. Then comes Buhari - he had never had sex with her. He could not think of hurting her after Shagari left her wasted and in debt. His crime was that he was not romantic and 'tough'. IBB comes along with his gap-tooth smiles and she falls for him. I don't think any leader wasted her like IBB. He had his way because he constantly drugged her with his 'maradona' charisma. 1993 ended that romance because she refused to take all tablets but one - the interim government. Now she has 4 major suitors - and she is confused. Her clothes are bloodied from the atrocities of the previous governments. GEJ wants her because they have actually dated for about 11 months. Yet he wants to please everybody. He says he would bring people whom bombed to justice yet no one is prison. His children were not bombed those attacks nor was his property affected. People say he is sincere but it is certain his friends and supporters want what is between her thighs. Does he truly love her? Would he place her above personal interest? I doubt it very much. This bible verse aptly describes the Nigerian nation. "Don't be surprised if the poor of your country are abused, and injustice takes the place of justice. After all, the lower officials must do what the higher ones order them to do." (Ecclesiastes 5:8 CEV). Ribadu is a young guy. Actually they are almost age mates. She just a month older. He has shown some resolve in times past but his inexperience and alliance with certain people may reduce her chances of reaching her potential. The motives of this man called Tinubu are highly questionable. Shekaru is an orator and intelligent just like IBB. Does he have the moral courage to do the right thing. Does he have another agenda? Nigeria needs someone she can trust not someone she can admire. Many a lady have made this mistake over and over again. Then comes Buhari. She says ALL men are the same. They just want my honeypot. They could take it by force or by 'fake'. Buhari would Islamize me - yet his driver and cook are Christians. He is not romantic or charismatic. But he does not want to hurt her. He also wants to ensure she is confident and knowledgeable - bold to confront any despoiler and demand her rights. Like Fashola he wants to raise the standards of governance. But she lies confused in a pool of her blood. Too dizzy to think straight. Too drunk to stand what is rightfully hers. Too scared to make a choice. Raise up O mighty One. You have to choose between a 4-year mistake and 4-year miracle. Buhari is not perfect but he wants to show you some love. He needs you to help him help you. The General weeps because you are already carried away with TV Ads and a N1000. The General weeps because you think the enemy is your friend and your friend is your enemy. The General weeps because you are about be subject to a 4-year experiment- you may not come out the lab alive. The General weeps because this maybe your last chance to erase your past. The General weeps because the vultures are hovering over you. The General weeps because your potential is greater than your past. The General weeps because he has put together a team of Nigerian specialists would energize her and make her reach her goals. Wipe your tears, General. We will go to the polling booth on Saturday 16th. It may be far but we will travel there. It may be long but we will wait. We will do our best and leave the rest to God. We will buy our future with our votes but we will never allow our votes to be bought. We persuade men to open their eyes. We will see a new Nigeria. A New Hope. A New Beginning. God bless Nigeria! Note: Please pardon my errors - if there are any - I am a little drowsy. I could not afford to procrastinate on this. By Tunde (from BB volunteer facebook page) |
Whatever would move a man to tears must be true love. Even Opa Williams hardly can get his stars to shed tears. My respect for Buhari increases by the day. Let me digress: I notice in other thread that what Beaf and other GEJ supporters continue to say is GEJ will win; Buhari will loose. The question is not who wins or looses, but who is competent enough to rule this nation. Buhari has shown us who he really is from his stella service to this nation since the 60's, his delivering this nation from ruin in 1984 and his work with the PTF. What we should ask GEJ is what has he done, what is he doing and what is he going to do? So far all I have seen is a man who is wasting national resources in a time of great national prosperity(although no one is see it). Today GEJ spent 2.5 million naira on five full page advert in Punch alone, not to talk of other papers. NL is a social website that gives Nigerian opportunity to discuss National issues and not for some people to keep ranting GEJ will win and all the balderdash, Deliver yourself from religious and tribal prejudices and consider. |
@ Poster Buhari's meeting with the NPLF does not seem to me like someone who is desperate. It is called Politics: and there is nothing evil about it. In Politics you know your strenght and you find those who can support your weakness. The Gen. Buhari I know is a true federalist; a man who loves this nation enough to go the extra mile to help salvage her from its present state. I see it as being ernest to do good and not desperacy. If he was desperate he would easily have let go of his very high standard and concede to the terms Tinubu and co were putting at him. Which would be tantamount to selling his birthright. The like of OBJ would not find it difficult to do this because they speak with both sides of the mouth; and would readily jettison an agreement the minute they are in power. Buhari, as a man of truth will not do this. However he would do everything within that which is morally sound to win this election. If he does not, it is not a do or die affair. The future of this nation does not rest in the hands of Buhari but in the hands of you and I to make the decision: to choose btw life and death. I WOULD BE VOTING BUHARI/BAKARE, ALONG WITH MY HOUSEHOLD ON SATURDAY, BECAUSE THEY ARE THE TEAM I BELIEVE WOULD BENEFIT ME AND MY CHILDREN IN THE DAYS TO COME. There is nothing desperate about being sure of who you are and being ernest about helping to deliver your nation from vultures, in the person of GEJ and the PDP as a whole. |

I want to thank the poster for this thread which he introduced without a hint of prejudice for any of the presidential candidates but with a sincere desire to see Nigeria elect a credible leader in a few days. However, you have certainly underated this issue of rigging in your post. First, Nigeria has never had an incubent who has organized free and fair elections, and with the outcome of some of the NA elections in the north (eg Abuja), Jonathan would not be an exception. Those of us who saw this ahead had adviced him on his FB that he should not contest. He ignored us. Yes GEJ has support all over the nation, but because the PDP is afflicted with a penchant for rigging, this elections are likely to be rigged again, and therefore the result not considered fair. Lastly, the Buhari option cannot be ignored. Those who say he has support in the north alone fail a great deal in their analyses. In the south west, there is great acceptance of Buhari among muslim folks. who see him as a honest and credible individual. There is also a large hausa community in Lagos, Oyo and Ogun state who would vote for him. Then there is a great deal of Christian people, the group I belong to, who have come to support him because of Tunde Bakare. Many of these people are not CPC party men but BB people to the core. Then there is the work that BB volunteers have done that has won a great deal of people to him. There lies the element of a miracle which I am relying on: with God nothing shall be impossible. If Buhari wins 90% of the north, 40% or the SW and 10% of the east and SS, then we have victory or at worst a run-off which will lead to a win. |
It is rather late. True. But the talks are on and they would not be talking except the possibility is there. Buhari holding the north(forget about this NA elections, Buhari is super popular in the north), ACN having the south, I mean, GEJ would be returning to Bayelsa. I was playing with the idea of Buhari stepping down for Ribadu. That this may go well with ACN supporters in the south. Atleast it will be a way of proving he is a true democrat and it is not a do or die affair for him. Also, though Ribadu is inexperienced, he is young and can do great things for the nation. |
