Second, a poll that lasted for ONLY 3 HOURS was conducted on a week day, when a lot of Edo people are at work, in the markets, their shops etc, and that counts for anything?

Third, Nigeria is NOT USA and Europe, where polls matter. Even polls in those places go wrong when compared to real results- Donald Trump is a recent example. Also, there are countless cases where opinion polls are the EXACT OPPOSITE of the real election in Nigeria- Fayemi vs Fayose (Ekiti), Dele Belgore vs Fattah Ahmed (Kwara), Nasko vs Bello (Niger), Jegede vs Akeredolu (Ondo), Yahaya Bello vs Wada (Kogi), etc, etc.

Fourth, in Nigeria, demographics suggest that MAJORITY of VOTERS are not SOCIAL-MEDIA or INTERNET SAVVY. THEY CAN'T EVEN ACCESS THE INTERNET TO VOTE IN A POLL! Recall that Ifeanyi Ubah's TAN conjured up millions of signatures for Jonathan in 2015, and said it was so sure for his re-election, but what happened? Buhari defeated Jonathan clearly.

Fifth, this fake poll could easily have been influenced by e-rats who were given abundant free data. Na today?

Akure the state capital will be won by PDP because its the hometown of Eyitayo Jegede the PDP candidate and the high concentration of civil servants who are already feeling the heat of hunger as a result of non payment of salaries. PDP will win naturally in Idanre, ZLP and APC wont do badly there, Akure North may go the way of PDP too but marginally. AKETI will win heavily in the northern senatorial districts where he came from, I see a repeat of the Okenne episode for Gov Yahaya Bello repeating itself in Owo. Owo votes will be heavily rigged for the governor and with heavy use of money to buy votes in the central and southern states, he will get at least the 25 - 40% which will give him big win when combined with the heavy votes from the north. AKETI will win outright not really because of his popularity or projects but because he didn't really have serious opponents. A combination of Jegede and Agboola would have dealt a debilitating blow on AKETI second term bid such that he may be removed by the court since he would have needed heavy rigging to win.

The incumbent NBA President, Usoro SAN, was allegedly rigged into office too. The NBA, like most hitherto respected associations, such as NANS, has gone to the dogs regarding corruption largely due to the huge perks of office in those positions!

Only other professional bodies, eg ICAN, CITN, CIBN, NSE (of engineers) with a clear, hierarchical style of assumption of their Presidency, are free from outright corruption regarding succession...These are models for election in professional bodies.

For those who know Ondo politics very well, this move, if confirmed, has made Akeredolu's 2nd term SO EASY!

Now, this is it:

1. Mimiko and Akeredolu have been close friends from their time together at OAU (known as University of Ife at that time). They were both elected into the Students Union Government (SUG) at Ife. That friendship hasn't waned.

2. Akeredolu was one of the very active lawyers who fought for the recovery of Mimiko's Labour Party governorship mandate from Agagu of PDP up to the final court, in a long legal tussle sponsored and financed by Tinubu! So, it is payback time for a huge favour.

3. Since Akeredolu defeated Mimiko's anointed successor, Eyitayo Jegede, and got elected, he has NEVER publicly criticized Mimiko or Mimiko's government. It is rare for a Governor from a different political party not to criticise his predecessor who ruled under a different party! It happened because they are friends and Akeredolu actually told his cabinet members not to insult Mimiko at all. He also publicly stated that he won't probe Mimiko's government!

4. Ajayi, the current Deputy Governor, is from Ondo South, where he is strong politically. However, to neutralise him, Akeredolu has picked a younger version of Ajayi, Lucky, from the same area as Ajayi! So, even if Ajayi is expected to do well in the election Zenith Labour Party candidate in his own senatorial district, he will likely share votes with Lucky! Akeredolu will clear his Ondo North Senatorial District, considering 'son of the soil' mentality, like he did in 2016. Akure, in Ondo Central, where Jegede is from, will be shared among the three, due to its cosmopolitan nature and because being the state capital, no ethnic group is dominant.

5. Underground, if Ajayi eventually joins Zenith Labour Party, Mimiko might use him as a pawn to work secretly for his own personal friend, Akeredolu!

Largely, PDP's error was picking Jegede, a featherweight who got the votes he got in 2016 due to Mimiko's incumbency factor, instead of Ajayi, who is a grassroots politician who had previously been elected into the House of Representatives. It was a great mistake PDP made!

Now, with Ajayi reportedly "porting" to a weak ZLP, it's ROAD IS NOW CLEAR FOR AKEREDOLU!!!
