YummySuits:You nailed it! The Governor, a few months ago, stated that the Lagos state government had discovered over 40 large junctions, roundabouts, and areas causing huge traffic across Lagos and that his government will systematically remove them and where not possible, make them smaller. It was on the same basis that that unnecessarily large (I call it evil) roundabout opposite Lekki Phase 1 gate area (Marwa Bus Stop) has been removed too and a new nodal, connecting interface is being constructed there... |
victorazyvictor:Needless stupidity! What the hell if she decides to change her religion! I marvel at how so many Muslims and Christians in Nigeria waste their lives engaging in thoughtless rivalry and mutual bigotry when more than one third of the population of the world (Indians, Chinese, Japanese, and others) is neither Christian nor Muslim... My extended family members, who are incidentally both Christians and Muslims, many of whom have lived in certain parts of Europe and North America for many decades always regaled me with how adherents of so many faiths engage in peaceful inter-faith dialogues and exchange gifts and visits, etc. In Nigeria, it's all about mutual hatred for fellow human beings on account of religious differences... The quantum of energy and amount of resources Christians and Muslims expend to undermine each other is alarmingly senseless! Huge shame! |
Lazy Ihedioha lawyers! It was the same attitude that caused Ihedioha to lose the election via the Supreme Court. How could a senior lawyer representing Ihedioha, Kanu Agabi, SAN (Attorney General under Babangida regime) claim for more time to file "some documents" on the same day of hearing considering that he and his client (and their supporters) have continued to harass and insult the same Supreme Court to review its judgement? This is bad omen for Ihedioha. He will likely lose again on March 2. He should sack his obviously unserious and unprepared lawyers! Daft!!! |
The spirit of "fake name" has caught INEC too. The man's surname is Duoye, but the certificate of return showed "Douye"! The spirit of Degi in multiple of 5! Lol. Na wa o! |
Whatever political party we support, it was a foolish, daft, and unforgivable mistake or deliberate fraud on the part of Degi (or whatever variant of his 5 names anyone may choose) to have changed his name several times without going through the legal means. The moral of this sad fate of an innocent David Lyon is that fraud and impunity has expiry dates! It serves Degu right, but, I truly feel pity for David Lyon. It's like being killed by a mate. Tragic! Degi is currently a Bayelsa Senator, so, how did INEC allow him stand for elections? It's also a lesson to political parties to ALWAYS screen their candidates thoroughly. How did the Legal Department of APC (with Barrister Ogala as Legal Adviser) allow Deri's serial name changes go without legal ratification? Changing names is not a crime, but the person who seeks to do so must do it legally. I cannot blame the Supreme Court for this ruling. Unfortunately for Lyon, Degi will return to his Senate seat, considering that a by-election to replace him has not been held. And the fool who caused this will continue his looting and David Lyon who actually won the election is left with nothing! Cruel fate! |
EVILFOREST:Hypocrite! The same Supreme Court under Tanko gifted Zamfara and Rivers to PDP 100% in 2019. The same Tanko-led Supreme Court ruled in favour of PDP in Sokoto (in spite of a very slim 320 margin with so many cancelled votes in APC strongholds), Benue, Bauchi, Taraba, Adamawa, etc. Hatred will kill some of you. Dunderhead! |
A lot of you writing negative comments about the defections to APC from PDP said nothing or even celebrated them when these same guys defected to PDP (from other parties) as soon as Ihedioha was elected. Now that Ihedioha has become a political orphan, and they defected to a party (APC) you all hate like demented clowns, you are ranting about betrayal, 'anywhere belle face', backstabbers, etc. HYPOCRITES! |
Kai! PDP Kano State Chairman, together with Kwankasiyya Coordinators in ALL the 44 local governments in Kano, defected to the ruling APC. Hate him or love him, one should respect the likes of Bola Tinubu, who stayed in opposition for 16 solid years! These PDP jobbers dump PDP like shit under flimsy circumstances. They can't even remain in opposition for only 4 years! Too easy. Politicians! Fight or die for them, you fought and died for NOTHING. THEY ARE FRIENDS! Or, better put, enemies in daylight (for the media and deluded supporters) but friends at night!!! |
Ezekiel36vs28:Fair point. The (the Northern elite) do not like his public denouncement of anti-progress cultural practices such as early marriage, almajiri (waste of male children via begging), VVF, etc. They prefer the region to remain backward for their selfish political and social reasons. Sanusi came ahead of his time... |
Rednaxelot:Racoon, you are VERY SMART! This same scenario happened under late Governor Abubakar Rimi of Kano against Emir Ado Bayero! The Emir laughed last! Rimi lost his re-election, the new Governor (who defeated him), Sabo Barkin-Zuwo, nullified the illegal action taken by Rimi; and Ado Bayero retuned to the throne. And reigned for 50 years! How did Rimi end? He lost every political relevance and died completely unsung! Sanusi should endure the remaining 3 years of Ganduje's cursed (rigged-election) reign. Ganduje, the USDollar-thieving rogue will be disgraced in the end... |
May God bless his soul and forgive him his sins. Amen. Meanwhile, to show how fleeting life is, many politicians from both his party, APC and other parties (PDP, APGA, etc) will immediately start jostling to replace him at the Senate and vie for his seat in a bye-election. In fact, some of them may start applying pressure on INEC to commence the bye-election process 'without delay'. That is life!!! In life, the dead, on most instances, are easily forgotten, unless they made impactful contributions to the living! These things about life should make us all know that we should not kill or become aggressive in order to acquire money and possessions. The late Senator's clock has stopped! The clock of you and I will also stop one day! |
Smithkafors:Really? Dr. Folashade Esan, Christian, the Head of Service of the Federation (HSoF), is from Buhari's tribe? Senator Ibikunle Amosun, Muslim, is from Buhari's tribe? Femi Adesina, Christian, a pastor of Foursquare Gospel Church for almost 15 years, the spokesman of the President, is from Buhari's tribe? Barr. Boss Mustapha, a Christian minority, well involved in Full Gospel Businessmen Fellowship at the national level, Secretary to the Federal Government (SGF), and who is from Adamawa is from Buhari's tribe? You can say something else, but people in these pictures do not align with your false assertion... |
thatkindthing:Teni's father was a retired senior army officer who established the popular Apata Group of Schools, but who was eventually assassinated. The Army Band's opening display at her concert might have been an effort to honour her late dad (she talks glowingly about him at every opportunity online and offline) by both the Army and Teni... No one without any affinity with the Army could have worn camo in public nah; the person would have almost been beaten to death by officers, lol. |
Say what we may, the man (Buhari) is very handsome (from way back); and his children took his genes in that respect. Indisputable. His politics might be a different kettle of fish... |
Atiku returned to Nigeria from his self-imposed (electoral-failure-imposed) exile in Dubai and herdsmen problem (which had completely waned) begins almost immediately! God will punish ALL evil doers. Amen. |
jlinkd78:Ah, ah. No offense meant; you are probably very young. Babafemi Ojudu was (is) a veteran journalist, of “The News”, “Razor” fame, and a wordsmith. I didn’t expect less from anything he writes... He was one of the few journalists who were truly pro-democracy icons (not the give-us-money-for-mobilization, “enu gbe” pro-democracy louts of today); he was jailed several times, and was almost killed by Abacha, the wicked despot! Ojudu earned his stripes. Completely. |
Dino is just a fool. What will the ICJ Hague do about a local election in Nigeria? Does he even know the function(s) of the ICJ? This clown has been defeated in his own game of rigging (which he, like many other politicians have effectively used since 1999) and he is crying/bleating like a goat on heat! Guys at the ICJ Hague and the international community (EU, the US, etc) must have laughed their heads off at the frequency with which politicians in Nigeria mention "I will report you to the international community, World Court, etc" whenever they lose elections. Dino, when will you, who has NEVER worked anywhere (as a salary earner or otherwise) since you graduated from ABU in 1999, but is so wealthy, report yourself to ECOWAS Court ![]() The most unintelligently loquacious Senator in Nigeria is about 'joining the streets of Abuja', just like he wished for Akpabio, another 'uncommon thief'... Dino, please 'stew in your own juice' and stop disturbing the populace! |
LOL. Winner kwa? This big fool, fat toad, Dickson's cousin, who Dickson foisted on PDP and Bayelsa people? You made it so easy for APC's David Lyon to win and you are spewing rubbish in an inconsequential press conference! Mr. Man go meet your fat-toad godfather, Seriake Dickson, who disrespected Jonathan and so many stakeholders in both PDP and the entire state. Wike, your neighour in Rivers State, shunned you and your campaign. Goodluck Jonathan, the only Bayelsa indigene to have been President of Nigeria, shunned you and your campaign. First Lady Patience, Jonathan's secret weapon, shunned you and your campaign. A lot of your appointees resigned and defected and worked for APC. Yet you felt that you could have won? Gerraout, Mr. Fat Toad! |
BonPatrick:You may die from that hatred. It's no use hating; you should rather dislike. Hate is a very strong word to use to describe one's feeling. |
Give it to Tinubu- he is a leader! Hate him or like him. No Governor in his set of 1999-2003 is half as influential as he has become in national politics. In fact, more than 70% of them are completely irrelevant politically! A look at the 'disciples' he surrounds himself with will clearly reveal the kind of man Tinubu is...See a small list of where the 'disciples' worked/what the 'disciples' were before Tinubu poached them: Ben Akabueze, his Commissioner of Budget & Economic Planning, from Anambra State, was a former MD of NAL Bank Babatunde Fowler, his Chairman Lagos Internal Revenue Service (LIRS), from Lagos State was a bank ED Babatunde Fashola, his Chief of Staff, from Lagos State, was a SAN in a thriving law firm (Sofunde, Belgore & Co.) Ismail Adewusi, his Commissioner of Finance, from Oyo State, was an ex-banker and a PhD holder Dele Alake, his Commissioner of Information & Strategy, from Ekiti State, was a former Editor of Concord Newspapers Fola Arthur-Worey, his Commissioner of Urban Planning, from Delta State, was a renowned Architect with a thriving practice Tunji Bello, his Commissioner for Environment, from Lagos State, a Concord newspaper bigwig, was Chairman of the Editorial Board of ThisDay Newspapers Muiz Banire, his Commissioner of Environment, from Lagos State, was a Unilag lecturer, PhD holder, founder of a thriving law firm, and a SAN Yemi Osinbajo, his Attorney-General & Commissioner of Justice, from Ogun State, was a Professor of Law, Unilag & LASU lecturer, and a co-founder of a well-regarded law firm There are so many I can't recall here, now, due to time constraint. They are all still with the man (Tinubu) and quite a lot of them have since gone to occupy far higher offices. Tinubu was the first State Governor in Nigeria, since the return of democracy in 1999, to appoint non-indigenes as Commissioners! Not just one, but many of them, and they were not given inconsequential Commissioner roles but big ones- Works, Finance, Information, Budget & Economic Planning! I was told that he insisted on seeking 'smart people' from anywhere so far as they could deliver. His party, AD, fought him over the approach, but he resisted the push-back. Show me man who kept his troops over 20 years after and I'll show you a true leader!!! I may quarrel with his tactics at times, and I surely do, but I agree 100%- TINUBU IS AN EFFECTIVE LEADER!!! |

Timi Frank? The errand boy of Atiku, Bukola Saraki, Ben Murray-Bruce, and other thieving politicians? He is spending from the largesse he's been receiving from the daft Atiku. on Tonto Dike, a well-known 'peddler'...Hmmm. He (Timi Frank) has also been with Atiku in Dubai, lavishing Nigeria's stolen money, for over 5 months. LOL. God dey! |
PDP and lawlessness and impunity are inseparable! Will that party of rouges ever learn? When (not if) Sanwo-Olu defeat their silly candidate again in 2023, they will foolishly claim that the election was rigged! Members of a party (Lagos PDP) that had NEVER been UNITED in LAGOS truly think they can win any election in Lagos? They have started their usual in-fighting and crisis in 2019 already; just over 6 months after the last election! Pipe dream! |
FemiMaduka:God bless you, FemiMaduka! I have always told Nigerians that the hype about Ghana is completely misplaced; it is beyond hyperbole. I suspect that Nigerians who idolize Ghana are those who do not travel outside of Nigeria regularly. Ghana, and in particular, their capital (Accra) is comparable to Minna, Asaba, Abakaliki, Oshogbo, and other Tier-2 state capitals in Nigeria. Anyone who has visited Ghana between 2009 and as late as last month will agree with your honest assessment! I have visited Accra, Tamale, Tema, and a few other towns (I can never address them as cities) in Ghana. The entire economy of Ghana is at the mercy of IMF/World Bank! These two notoriously 'apartheid-loving' Bretton Woods institutions assist Ghana to pay salaries of their civil servants! That is the country my ignorant countrymen are hyping for nothing! Nigerians, especially the youth, should read wide and travel wide. Nigeria might have been a huge disappointment, on the basis of unbridled corruption of our greedy leaders over the years; however, a lot of the countries in Africa we idolize are worse than shit-holes! |
stanisbaratheon:You are an illiterate! Educate yourself properly on electoral matters. The Court of Appeal is the final court of arbitration for National Assembly elections. The Court of Appeal has ordered a re-run within 90 days; it will be done as ordered. The cancelled elections had/will have nothing to do with the Supreme Court! |
The slowpoke, short fool- Secondus- what an odious, uncommon name! Why won't your party continue to take the 2nd position? When the same Supreme Court handed over ALL elective positions in both Zamfara State and Rivers State to PDP in the 2019 elections, you didn't leave the Supreme Court to God! In Zamfara State, in particular, PDP candidates who did not even print posters, became Senators, Reps, and House of Assembly members on a platter of gold! When the Court of Appeal, a few hours ago, today, sacked Sokoto APC Senator and Sokoto House of Reps members, and handed their seats to PDP, judiciary and democracy was not in danger! When yesterday, the Court of Appeal sacked APGA's Oshimili House of Reps elected member and gave the seat to PDP member who lost the election, democracy and the judiciary were not in danger! PDP is a party of rascals who have far disproportionately benefitted from the same judiciary they are insulting now just because Atiku, the fool, got scammed by SANs who collected his millions in a case a Law Student in 100 level would never have taken to any Court!!! |
Atiku was a damn old fool. He allowed heavy-fee-charging SANs to egg him on, deceiving him that he had a case when it was so clear that a so-called website of a whistle blower was the source of the so-called INEC server! How could he be so dumb? An agency claimed not to have a thing, but an external person, an interloper, who claimed to be a whistle blower insisted that the agency had a thing, and on that basis, the petitioners (PDP and Atiku) went to court to enforce the un-enforceable! A Law student in 100 level would have told Atiku the truth from Day One, but the SANs, starting with Ozekhome, the irresponsible loudmouth and lawyer for ALL the BIG, elitist thieves in Nigeria, urged Atiku on, and continued to collect his ill-gotten millions! A shame! Shame to PDP and Atiku, and their nincompoop followers!!! |
Abfinest007:But the same Dele Momodu was your hero when he fiercely supported Saraki, Atiku, and Peter Obi of PDP! Hypocrisy will kill some of you. Nincompoop! Daft clown... |
And FOOLS believed this and are already insulting Buhari! A dodgy guy reports that the life of an investigative journalist, Shoyombo, was in danger for his expose regarding corruption in Ikoyi Prison and a police station and nincompoops have attributed it to Buhari!!! The dodgy clown mentioned The Prisons, The Police, and the Judiciary as complicit in the alleged gang-up, so, pray, what has Buhari got to do with it? With all of Nigeria's problems, is it the so-called planned arrest of a journalist (whose report was never about Aso Rock) that Buhari will now concentrate on? Are Nigerian youths, especially the so many dunderheads on Nairaland, this dumb, clueless, or just stupid? |
Politics is a very dodgy vocation (I can't describe it as a profession or a career)... If you are a party member, party supporter, party follower, political thug, known criminal BUT you support the ruling party (any party, be it APC, PDP, APGA, Labour, etc), you are SAFE, nothing will happen to your property. However, when you defect to another party or you stop supporting the ruling party, you are DEAD! You will be persecuted to no end. Suddenly, your legal C of O will become illegal and will be revoked for "public good", your school will be demolished, your family members will become easy targets of government and government agencies, etc, etc. Nigerian politics! Too unique... |
Is the candidate, Senator Diri, a ghost? I have never heard a single policy statement from him- it has always been Dickson speaking all the time. What does this suggest? And when politicians start to raise the ethnic card, asking people to vote for 'Ijaw Nation' as though his opponents are also not Bayelsans, start suspecting them! PDP will likely lose this election. Sentiments appear not to be working. A small state, with only 8 local governments, largely full of water bodies, but collecting the 4th/5th largest revenue allocation among all 36 states in Nigeria, should not be as poor and as underdeveloped as Bayelsa! That says a lot about ALL their past (and present) elected Governors, since 1999!!! |
Bode George was jailed in 2009 when PDP was in power. Yar'Adua was the President. Bode George has granted countless interviews where he blamed Obasanjo as the man who sent him to jail, now when our illustrious VP is 'under the weather', Bode George had to find a disingenuous way of bringing the VP's name to his self-inflicted misfortune! Has Bode George forgotten than Obasanjo publicly lambasted him and his family and associates for celebrating his release from Kirikiri Prison, Apapa that year, with "aso-ebi" clothes in church and in a party at Lagos Island? Bode George should face Obasanjo who made the jail matter easy after they publicly quarreled in relation to PDP matters! |
