"An online blogger"! LOL! I dey laugh.

President Jonathan referred to Sahara Reporters' Sowore as "an online blogger".

Now, the same fools who usually hailed the same Sowore whenever he lied against APC members (or other groups and persons they hate), will agree with Jonathan regarding Sowore! If it was an APC member who described Sowore in this manner, "they" would have filled this thread with hate!

Hypocrites!!!

Sowore is a good guy, my contemporary, and a pro-democracy activist I've known since 1987. However, his Sahara Reporters platform has zero credibility. Its penchant for slandering people and publishing lies is damn too much!
Politics / Re: Edo: Saraki, PDP Leaders Pressure INEC Chairman To Rig Election- SaharaReporters by DTaj: 7:47pm On Jul 08, 2020
The quantum of hypocrisy one sees on Nairaland could make our corrupt politicians look like saints.

Sahara Reporters are usually hailed and commended when they report this kind of "exclusive report" on APC people or on APC matters, BUT when they report the same for PDP people/matters, some of us here, who are definitely PDP supporters or sympathisers, would start insulting Sahara Reporters and Sowore!

It's the same approach with Kemi Olunloyo, Nnamdi Kanu, Femi Fani-Kayode. When they publish, write, or say what some of us love to hear, we HAIL them as though they were the best thing to happen to humanity since bread and butter emerged, BUT when they tell us things we dislike based on religious, ethnic, or political party interest (even if true), we start insulting them!

Hypocrisy has no other meaning...Amazing. And people here on NR want to change Nigeria!

Oh boy see money! How can we be sure he is worth this much? Abi did he 'amplify' his net worth with the aim of 'filling in the blanks' during his tenure as governor?

Ajimobi, who had his first degree and MBA in the US, before he got elected as Senator in 2003, was the MD/CEO of National Oil & Marketing Company Ltd, a subsidiary of Shell.

Anyone who rose to the MD/CEO position at ANY subsidiary of Shell, that globally-acclaimed oil multinational, must have been rich; just like one would expect for an ED of any top bank.

And he submitted these assets declaration forms BEFORE/ON THE DAY he was sworn-in as Governor.

However, this is not an excuse for any form of corruption; but I thought that it was good to say the truth about his professional background, after I read some comments as though he was a nobody before he joined politics.

Anyone who rose to be MD/CEO of the subsidiary of such a major multinational oil giant like Shell should be very rich; just like an ED in a major bank. And he declared these assets BEFORE he was elected Governor; so, they are somewhat believable.

However, this is not an excuse for any corruption under any guise; but just to say the facts, considering that I have read some funny comments as though the man was a nobody before he joined politics.

APC, a useless, uncoordinated political party!

It was not even this bad when PDP's Ali Modu Sherif and Ahmed Makarfi had their tiff.

This is beyond disgraceful. And as usual, Buhari does nothing! He knows nothing!!!

May our country never see this kind of daft, rudderless political party again.

Some of us supported them in 2015 (and to a lesser extent in 2019) out of conviction, but as corrupt as PDP was, in their 16 years of perfidy, these clowns at APC, from top to bottom, are worse in strategy, policy, cohesion, etc.

A shame!

And some clowns claimed that this buffoon wanted reconciliation?

Oshiomhole has continued to keep dignified silence, without even mentioning Obaseki's name, yet the wicked, unappreciative monkey denigrates, harasses, and insults Oshiomhole every day!

Before now, one thought mutual give-and-take should happen, but with these unabating insults and use of harsh and toxic words still coming from Obaseki, the ingrate, Oshiomhole should now go for an all-out war and end the political experience of the foolish Obaseki finally!

Politics / Re: Obaseki Meets Buhari, Presents Re-Election Bid Form by DTaj: 6:47pm On Jun 01, 2020
The fool, the power-drunk traitor, who insulted Oshiomhole almost everyday and also allowed kids who are far younger than Oshiomhole and who cannot even clean Oshiomhole’s “political shoes” to insult and abuse Oshiomhole every hour online and offline because they are his political appointees, is BEGGING everybody!

Oshiomhole has NOT mentioned Obaseki publicly since the crisis started. He has maintained dignified silence. Yet, he gets insulted everyday by the ingrate Obaseki for whom he fought everybody and eased his way to Edo Government House in 2016!

Yesterday, he was in Lagos with his fellow anti-Oshiomhole traitor Governors, with whom he plotted Oshiomhole’s removal as National Chairman and failed, to BEG TINUBU! Tinubu, the political colossus that he is, refused to give him and his band of fools any categorical promise.

Today, with his legs behind his tails, he has gone to Aso Villa to BEG BUHARI! The same Buhari who could have received nomination form from a PDP member if the aspirant visited the Villa? How can mere photo ops at Aso Rock Villa save this stupid Obaseki nah I laugh in Swahili! LOL.

Obaseki should remember that failed Ambode and failed Akinlade (Amosun’s boy in Ogun State who was defeated by Governor Dapo Abiodun) also visited the Villa, laughing like clowns, yet, when the chips were down, they ALL failed miserably!

The clown refused to swear-in majority (14) members of the Edo State House of Assembly. He used thugs to bomb the homes of his fellow APC members in Edo State. He harassed Oshiomhole, blocked the road to his house, caused policemen to apply teargas on Oshiomhole’s family members and supporters in Benin. He also told Oshiomhole to write him (Obaseki) for permission every time he wanted to visit Edo State! Imagine the insult to his benefactor!!!

To those hailing Obaseki, can you allow these chain of humiliation, harassment, and daily insults from a junior colleague or younger fellow you helped in the course of his career?

It’s too late when the head is cut off!

His party, APC, raised the first reconciliation committee led by Senate President Lawan, this same Obaseki rejected the Committee and insulted everyone on that Committee. The party ‘swallowed’ the insult and inaugurated a new reconciliation committee under the leadership of pioneer Chairman Baba Akande, a man in his 80s (and who could easily have been Obaseki’s father regarding age), yet, this same Obaseki boy refused to meet the members!

When he is close to Ambode Bus Stop, he should shout “O wa, O wa” and come down from the bus!

DAFT Governor without emotional intelligence and people management skills.

How could someone who established a thriving investment bank in Lagos fail ‘people management course’ in public service ? Tragic!

Obaseki should start dusting his old office in his firm’s building on Gerrard Road Ikoyi, Lagos, as he prepares to resume work very soon as the investment banker he had always been.

This is a lesson to other ungrateful fools for whom party members suffered during campaigns for their election, such as Akeredolu of Ondo, AbdulRazaq of Kwara, and others contemplating any plan to rubbish the party that brought them to power...

Sermwell:

you just commented without sense!! How can obaseki defect to PDP when he has gotten his nomination form from APC already?? how?

You started with insults; so, let me go the gutter with you, since you are a confirmed pig!

If you had a brain, and have been following Nigerian politics since the 2nd Republic, 1979, that is (you might be too young to know, or, you may not have been born at that year), or even since the return to democracy in 1999, you should know the following:

1. The fact that Obaseki had collected APC’s nomination form DOES NOT prevent him from defecting to PDP BEFORE the election! Examples abound, even as recent as 2015: Samuel Ortom was a Minister under Jonathan until he resigned and participated in PDP primaries in Benue, lost by being 3rd behind Suswam’s anointed candidate, yet, APC begged Barrister Jime to yield the APC ticket to Ortom. Ortom was elected under APC!

A somewhat similar scenario played out in the case of Wammako of Sokoto, Isa Yuguda of Bauchi, Attahiru Bafarawa of Sokoto, Shinkafi of Zamfara, etc, etc.

2. There is something called “horse-trading” in politics- that is if you actually had a brain to comprehend (judging by the fact your entire life is about insulting people on a public forum instead of debating fairly with decorum). By this, PDP has scheduled its Edo primaries to a date AFTER the conclusion of APC’s primaries.

The intention is clear: they will wait to see who APC must have selected in their primaries, and depending on Obaseki’s war chest (that means ‘funding prowess’, if you had any thinking faculty that is), they (PDP) will give him the ticket after their NWC would have granted him a membership waiver.

THIS IS POLITICS; laced with facts (and not fiction), as opposed to the daft, uninformed exchanges you share through your N10 phone.

I disagree. Please check up the Presidential, Governorship, and National Assembly election results, both in 2015 and 2019, when Ize-Iyamu was in PDP with Obaseki as APC Governor.

Obaseki is a ‘political baby’ when compared with Ize-Iyamu- a former SSG, Director-General of Oshiomhole’s Governorship Campaign, Deputy National Chairman of APC in the South, etc.

It was Oshiomhole, as incumbent Governor, who practically got Obaseki elected as Governor. In fact, 95% of the campaign speeches of the APC, throughout Edo State, had Oshiomhole selling Obaseki to the people. Obaseki simply laughed sheepishly, in the background, like a toddler with candy and lollipops! He barely spoke. That same man, Oshiomhole, who lost a lot of his own longtime political associates, friends, and followers is being insulted daily by both Obaseki and a long list of kids who couldn’t attract 10 votes in their polling booths!

June 22 2020 is almost here, September 2020 is not far too.

Obaseki should continue to run to beg for intervention by Tinubu, Buhari, Governors’ Forum, etc, etc, it’s damn too late. When he was cautioned several times, he got bellicose and arrogant and even spent millions to remove Oshiomhole as National Chairman!

I laugh in Swahili!

The 'political toddler', ungrateful clown, called Godwin Obaseki, should start preparing to return to Ikoyi, Lagos.

Just like his grandfather betrayed the Oba of Benin, who made him a prominent Chief and handed the Oba of Benin to the colonial masters for annihilation, is this a curse for Obasekis to betray their benefactors?

After consistently insulting Oshiomhole personally and through his retinue of appointees, who ordinarily are 'political babies' to Oshiomhole, he's running everywhere in the night begging. It's too late to cry when the head is cut off!

You shut out 14 (a whole 14!) members of the House of Assembly, who are your fellow party members for almost 4 years!

You went on a demolition spree against enemies within your own party!

You, everyday, kept on insulting and abusing the man who practically did ALL your campaign to be Governor, who lost his own long-term friends and associates because of you!

I do not care whatever you have with Oshiomhole, all I know is that an INGRATE is wicked! Ingratitude is a huge character flaw- a huge MINUS!

I recall when some people in Kwara State urged immediate past Governor Abdulfatah Ahmed to betray Bukola Saraki just under one year after he was elected Governor in 2011, Abdulfatah said, I can't forget: "I was a Senior Manager at Guaranty Trust Bank Kano when this man called me and appointed me as Commissioner for Finance and after eight years in his cabinet, he did EVERYTHING to make me Governor, even against his longtime friends. Should I betray such a benefactor? No, I'm not an ingrate, I would not!"

It was the same thing when people told current Governor (Professor) Babagana Umara Zulum of Borno State to betray immediate past Governor and current Senator, Kashim Shettima. Zulum said: "This man brought me from the University of Maiduguri as a lecturer and made me Commissioner, he entrusted me with huge resources for the resettlement of IDPs. He also went out of his way, and practically abandoned all those who have been politicians for several decades and picked me, a 'baby politician'. Should I now start insulting the same man? I do not have any strand of ingratitude in my DNA."

Ask Fashola. He used tact and wisdom to manage Tinubu, and he eventually had a smooth 2nd term as Governor and he's a 2-term Minister of the Federal Republic today!

The fool named Taofik Gani (PDP Publicity Secretary) has always said this same nonsense since 2011 when he took over from Dr. Wale Ahmed in that position and NOTHING has changed for Lagos PDP.

In fact, the same Dr. Wale Ahmed is currently a 2-term Commissioner under APC. He resigned as Publicity Secretary and immediately defected to ACN in 2011 and he was made Commissioner for Special Duties. Today, he is the Commissioner for Local Government & Home Affairs in Lagos under Sanwo-Olu.

How the guys administering National PDP in Abuja have not stopped wasting money on Lagos PDP is amazing! Since we returned to democracy in 1999!!!

They always "chop" election money every 4 years and eventually defect to Tinubu's party! Examples abound: Obanikoro, Ogunlewe, Salvador, Olorunfunmi Bashorun, Yomi Finnih, Kamal Olorunoje- these were Lagos PDP heavyweights who are now with Tinubu in APC...

The daft, ungrateful Obaseki was in Lagos (as CEO of Afrinvest) when this same Oshiomhole invited him into government and made him DG of the Edo State Economic Management Team; and despite the huge resistance of his longstanding political friends and associates (and some of them abandoned Oshiomhole because of Obaseki), he did EVERYTHING to have Obaseki elected as Governor!

I have a friend in Edo State public service hierarchy who told me that Obaseki was so powerful under Oshiomhole that he practically sidestepped the Deputy Governor, Pius Odubu. Yet, this same Obaseki has insulted Oshiomhole to the heavens and back. He has also allowed nonentities like Osagie and other fools to continue to insult Oshiomhole every day.

Some people say Oshiomhole should forgive Obaseki. How? The father (Oshiomhole) had long kept quiet, yet, the son (Obaseki) mounts the podium personally and through his appointees and daft minions (such as Oyegun) to insult the father EVERYDAY! Yet, you want forgiveness! Now, he has gone, with his tails by his legs, to beg Tinubu to help him in his already failed plot. I dey laugh!

I do not care whatever caused the rift between those two; however, I dislike UNGRATEFUL PEOPLE! Obaseki should start packing his bags, as he returns to Lagos soon. He should ask Ambode for the handout on ‘political treachery and ingratitude’.

And talking about Covid-19 and APC primaries; Obaseki is just being clever by half! A direct primary will NOT involve putting 400,000 people in one location. That was a thoughtless lie! Direct primaries are done at Local Government headquarters of political parties. The Edo direct primaries can be successfully done through social distancing and wearing of face mask at each LG secretariat of APC.

Now, to even stretch Obaseki’s dumb reason further, would he ask INEC to conduct indirect election in September? Won’t Edo people still gather in their polling booths to vote amidst Covid-19

Obaseki, you are already gone. Start planning your retirement back to Lagos, Ikoyi precisely!

This is the BEST policy on semi-tertiary education by any state government in Nigeria in the last 5 years.

Anyone who is involved in the education sector, at primary and secondary school levels, would know about my assertion above.

The clear lack of preparedness in term of cognitive skills and development of the “rushing-culture-children” who their parents, by fire by force, make to graduate from University at 18-19 is glaring. I can confidently talk about this- examples abound.

Last session, a parent withdrew her child from JSS 1 and returned her to Primary 6 due to this rush mentality. The little girl was practically emotionally tortured when she was ‘rushed’ from Primary 5 to JSS 1.

One hopes that some unscrupulous owners of private schools would not discretely beat this new regulation.
