When the news of NOI making the final cut of the last two candidates standing for the WTO job hit Front Page on Nairaland, I made a comment, that

"Yoruba Muslims will not be happy".

I was lambasted for bringing tribalism into what seemed like collective gain of Nigerians. But I guess events of past few days have vindicated me.

First it was Kemi and now Kayode Ogundamisi.

These are the ones talking openly.

Just think of the possible covert campaign of calumny they could be launching.

His actions as Governor have become a huge embarrassment to learning in general and the University system in general. It was he, who:

1. Presented annual budgets that never made sense, with high-falluting nonsensical descriptions such as "Olympus", "Kinetic" whatever; with revenue projections that even 10 African countries, including Nigeria, put together, could never have achieved!

2. Appointed over 1,000 Advisers, Special Assistants, etc, draining the resources of an already beleaguered state- Cross River!

3. Created Ministries and agencies that are clearly under the purview of the Federal Government on the Exclusive List of the Nigerian constitution. This clown has a Commissioner for Foreign Affairs! He has a Commissioner for Military (or a related stupid contraption). Last week, he created one dodgy thing regarding the Gulf of Guinea Commission- an ECOWAS Presidents' beat!!!

No wonder one of his fellow PDP members, former Attorney General of Cross River State, Ekpo Eyo Ekpo, always criticized his daft policies on his Facebook page, almost everyday!

Nigeria, oh Nigeria! And this is not about being a PDP Governor, there are many of them in ALL Nigerian political parties, who should never have been close to being a Councillor, let alone Governor!

2. APC Governors perceived to be urbane and cerebral, namely: Fayemi (Chairman Governors' Forum- NGF) of Ekiti, El-Rufai of Kaduna, Bagudu of Kebbi, told Obaseki not to WORRY, HE WILL WIN. He should move to PDP and secure the ticket.

3. APC Edo's final campaign rally was suddenly cancelled on its eve because MANY APC GOVERNORS (WITH THE PROMPTING OF FAYEMI AND EL-RUFAI) FAILED TO CONFIRM THEIR ATTENDANCE AT THE FINAL RALLY!!!

4. Ministers under Buhari, who are from Edo State, blatantly worked for Obaseki. One of them, Health Minister Ehanire, who was nominated into the cabinet in 2015 (and also retained in 2019) by General Theophillus (TY) Danjuma, is Senator Daisy Danjuma's (TY Danjuma's wife's) older brother (of the same father and mother). We all know the interview and newspaper advertorial Daisy Danjuma made where she fully supported Obaseki.

5. Buhari, through proxies, to avoid being quoted, told Obaseki the same thing in 2 above.

6. Obaseki got elected with votes from APC and PDP members!

7. Buhari congratulated Obaseki within one hour after he was declared winner. That was unprecedented by any President of Nigeria, who belonged to a different party from a Governor who won!

8. Finally, before the middle of 2021, OBASEKI WILL RETURN TO APC! He will be justified on account of having paid PDP people N18 billion to secure their ticket, and hence, their use was over! Bookmark this post!!!

From the outset, APC was never a political party. It was an agglomeration of interests.

Although I preferred the party to PDP in 2015 (I still do) for the obvious reason of President Jonathan's absolute loss of control and unbridled corruption under the party, and some good people in APC, it (APC) had always been a disorganized set up.

First, Odigie Oyegun was NOT a leader. The rot started with him as Chairman. He was damn too gentle, bordering on foolishness! Then, Adams Oshiomhole came in as Chairman. He meant well and wanted Governors to respect the party, however, his NLC gra-gra approach finally killed that party!!!

Unfortunately for Nigeria, the alternative, PDP, is replete with thieves, cultists, and outright vagabonds!

This is the time for Nigerians to seek a "3rd Force" of sound professionals, who have absolute love for the country (and not on how much they can steal from it!). They should look for patriotic rich men who can fund them; as it is clear that the Presidency cannot be won by talk and conferences alone, but with huge funds.

And random interviews on the streets of Benin (likely a section of Benin, not even the whole!) gives you a wholesale indication of the likely winner of an election taking place in the entire state? What happened to Edo North and Edo Central?

Second, a poll that lasted for ONLY 3 HOURS was conducted on a week day, when a lot of Edo people are at work, in the markets, their shops etc, and that counts for anything?

Third, Nigeria is NOT USA and Europe, where polls matter. Even polls in those places go wrong when compared to real results- Donald Trump is a recent example. Also, there are countless cases where opinion polls are the EXACT OPPOSITE of the real election in Nigeria- Fayemi vs Fayose (Ekiti), Dele Belgore vs Fattah Ahmed (Kwara), Nasko vs Bello (Niger), Jegede vs Akeredolu (Ondo), Yahaya Bello vs Wada (Kogi), etc, etc.

Fourth, in Nigeria, demographics suggest that MAJORITY of VOTERS are not SOCIAL-MEDIA or INTERNET SAVVY. THEY CAN'T EVEN ACCESS THE INTERNET TO VOTE IN A POLL! Recall that Ifeanyi Ubah's TAN conjured up millions of signatures for Jonathan in 2015, and said it was so sure for his re-election, but what happened? Buhari defeated Jonathan clearly.

Fifth, this fake poll could easily have been influenced by e-rats who were given abundant free data. Na today?
