Based on the scripture quoted it's clearer but I think it could be very Misleading to say Holy Spirit Baptism and Infilling, for there is Only One Holy Spirit, and Everything pertaining to It, is Always in Its Holy Hand

I have read a good part of that book and Robert liardon is just a proxy. The stories and experiences referenced in it aren't his ideas but a compilation of events in the lives of God's Generals or Great men of the faith. It would be wrong to pitch the author against the Bible here. Smith Wigglesworth too never realized he lacked the Holy Ghost been but was doing quite fine too until he realized he needed the baptism of the Holy Ghost. That doesn't make the author a liar.

First, it should be appreciated that, No One Brings Upon Themselves the Holy Spirit and No One can do so.

The Holy Spirit Comes of Its Own Will on a Chosen Person and Not Any person Taking UP the Holy Spirit as though It were a Cloth that can be taken up.

This is what informed my own opinion and it is supported by several scriptures Acts 10:2 and 44-48. Acts 8:12-17 Simon here too, was baptized like the rest but he did not receive the Holy Spirit. Why? Verse 21-23 gives us the answer.

It is easily possible to be baptized but one shall never have the Holy Spirit. Why? As Paul put it in Romans 2:28/29 "... and circumcision is that of the heart, in the spirit, and not in the letter (or form).

Which I followed in saying that Baptism is not outwardly in the water as circumcision is not in the flesh but "but baptism in the heart and in the spirit."

What I'm confused about is in their (God's generals') account, most of the ministers before speaking in tongue performed healing, deliverance etc. Let me site an example like Sumrall Lester account: he saw vision when he was in a sickbed (at a very tender age) to either preach the gospel or die. He accepted to preach. In his meetings many were saved, healed, delivered etc. Subsequently, he had the impression that he is not yet baptism of the holyspirit because of his sister spiritual gift. He cried out to God who called him concerning receiving the holyspirit and God answer his prayer and he was baptized of the holyspirit with evidence of speaking in tongue. My questions now are;
1. Was it that he had no holyspirit then before being baptized?
2. Was it that he received the holyspirit without being baptized?

The Only Way You Can Safely Learn the Truth about the the Word of God is Do All that is written in the Bible, praying for your own understanding of it, and whatever your understanding of the words, Make Your Own Mistakes, So That You Can Correct Them For Yourself!

This is the Only Safe Way I know that you can use to Increase your Knowledge of God.

This will only continue because it is not yet time, the day of reckoning has not yet come, but it will surely come, Jesus Christ will return at a time when no man knows, to judge the world. The only way to be ready for His return is to believe in the Gospel of Jesus Christ – You cannot claim to believe if you have not repented from the works of darkness! Don’t be caught unawares.

- Just because you’re able to bewitch a true Christian and temporarily scatter their holiness into a way that doesn’t seem well (Revelation 13:7), does not mean much, as a matter of fact there is still hope for even you who is persecuting another’s soul, how much more for the afflicted who falls seven times but will always rise again. There’s a huge gulf of difference between being afflicted and poor in spirit with a failing heart as a Christian, and someone who is intentionally doing evil, carefully seeking out and strategizing against their prey spiritually and physically, these are children of darkness whether they choose to accept it or not. I really do not understand your question here, because, first your posted question about Receiving the Holy Spirit and Baptism of the Holy Spirit was strange (I've never heard that before) so I answered based on the fact that in the Bible, the Understanding of Baptism is different from the Knowledge and Power of the Holy Spirit, and they can not be mixed up as your post appears to do.

Secondly, could you disclose your True Interest because it appears to me that you are only interested in Acquiring The Lord's Power for healing and deliverance, As Simon the Sorcerer wished to purchase the power of the Holy Spirit?

The Evil that is not yet dead, has hope. Verse 4.

Verses 5 and 6- The Evil Man know that he shall Die and everything with him. Neither shall he have life On Earth Forever!

Verses 7-10 - Do All the shit that you are accustomed to doing oh evil men, for the Mouth of the Grave, Is Opened to Receive thy Soul.

God’s Word states at Ecclesiastes 6:5,6, “The living are conscious that they will die; but as for the dead, they are conscious of nothing at all, neither do they anymore have wages.”.

Ecclesiastes is about the Emptiness, Wastefulness and Trouble-lations of life, outside the Goodness, Grace and Mercy of God.

And the various versions of Painful-Tormentous life, the All-Mighty has laid out for every soul, who walk not wit Him but reject Him

Ecclesiastes 6: Down to Verses 5 & 6 is One Of The Versions of Torment, suffered by men who Reject God!

So, It Is Not About Dying For All Men but One of The Horrible living that is prepared for all who Despise the Lord.
