nuclearboy: Maybe Amaechi will go the way of Sylva, maybe not!

But what does all of this say of our President? Playing "I am bigger than you" with a serving governor because that one doesn't support him, while Boko Haram is killing the people of Nigeria in the dozens almost daily? If all this was thrown against subsidy thieves, Nigeria should have recovered Billions!

What does this portend for even GEJ's own future? Because only people like Abacha who have decided to die in power, can get away with such - does President Jonathan wish to be reviled forever, seen as a petty self-serving person who came into power without honor, lived without principles and left in ignominy?

This charade is so disheartening because Amaechi is NOT going anywhere after this term and needs no good name or support. The man who should be above all this is the one who this nonsense is tainting
silly sentiments.

why don't you see it from the angle that most of our politicians are corrupt. with your mindset I don't think we can successfully fight corruption. Lets just say EFCC decides to prob Edo or Lagos state govt, people like you'll call it victimization.

I'm surprised this din't raise any dust. this discretionary ruling by the judge is equally obscene like that of the pension fraud and the judge should be suspended.

Nigerians won't look at critical areas like this. we are daily loaded with ACN/APC vs PDP fights all over the media for us to cheer. Its so unfortunate.

even if we change from PDP to ACN We still have big problems with the judiciary.
CelebritiesRe: Pictures From Pastor Sign Fireman's Wedding by duality(m): 1:42pm On Apr 29, 2013
yeboyes: I for one do not understand how any intelligent person can attend this con man's church. This dude was exposed on BBC for the whole world to see as a conman who takes advantage of desperate people yet morons still flock to his church.

The major problem we Nigerians have is these mentalities of "He go better" ,"GOD's times is the best","touch not my anointed", "all is well" and other ridiculous as well as regressive mentalities. These lines of reasoning has crippled the minds of Nigerians as many have become intellectually incapacitated. The fact of the matter is all these pastors are con men. You don't need anyone to pray for you before you succeed.

If you believe in your yourself and help yourself by working hard,GOD will help you.Stop waiting for one idiotic pastor to lay hands on you.USE your GOD given brain and work your way to success.Like the saying goes ,GOD only helps those who help themselves.Helping yourself does not mean saying tithes every day ,kissing your pastor's butt or sleeping in church everyday. It seemly means you should apply yourself or find something to do.

The same rule applies to our politics,we cry all the time when our leaders commit treason against the nation but continue to vote them back in.I have heard people saying " I know Jonathan is corrupt but what can we do? He is better than the rest".I am sorry but i disagree ,such assumption is the retort of an intellectually redundant mind.Others will say "I will vote for Jonathan again because he is from the south. It is better for a south man to chop the money instead of an Hausa man".

Nigerian do not vote for the best candidates they vote for the candidate which hails from their own tribe or the one who bribes them.Your dishonest finance minister had the guts to lie on CNN by saying 99% of Nigerian's are honest. We have serious issues in Nigeria and we are our own worst enemies.Unless we begin to engine ourselves in honest and intelligent conversations ,we will never get out of this cesspit we are in.
Must you bring politics to every thing. you are one of the major problems we have as a nation. you are very corrupt minded; very dishonest. I just wonder how a bribe giving liar will come on nairaland to showcase self righteousness. How do people do business with you?

You call the above an allegation? following your logic on the Finance ministers case, I am 100% in order if I label you worse.

This should serve as a deterrent. I don't subscribe to " If its not me or my person, then its wrong" This media liberty in Nigeria, If not curtailed may drive the nation to anarchy. Every attempt to right the wrongs in this country, has always raised ethnic dust. Soon, when you arrest a criminal some persons will run to the media and say it is only my people that is being arrested.

EducationRe: Nigerian Students Generally Study The Wrong Majors At Undergrad Level by duality(m):
The big question is, where are the jobs? My Bro, was one of the best during his time; It took him so long to get a good job.
Besides, the money for Post Grad and Certifications wasn't available. He spent years working just to keep body and soul together, without gaining experience in the area he loved. At this time, some of his friends who graduated with lower grades, got placements in Total, Mobil, APM etc. Today, the story has changed for the better. My point is; Life is just too complex; you can't rationalize it correctly all the time. Nothing is guaranteed anymore.

An Interesting topic I must say; but nothing is guaranteed. When a hunter is lucky, he is said to be the best.

Okay. i was invited 4 an interview, after d many questions, i was asked d same Q. i started beating abt d bush. D interviewer den said, tel us ur worth. i paused, and stated a certain amount of money. End of interview. I tot i had lost d job cause of dat, but no, i got d job....

Bottom line, be confident/bold 2 tel dem wat u're worth. If u re worth #100, 10k to 100k, na only u know ur worth. gudluck.
and you think an organisation will pay you what you are worth? you think people working are paid what they worth? you were paid what you quoted because they were OK with it.

Ibekwe7: Tell them what you have in mind,I went for an interview and I was asked this question and i told them that the coy shd ve a stipulated amount they pay for the post I applied for dat I wish to go with the amount,LO and BEHOLD I failed the interview,I met the Hr and he told me I failed cos of what I said, dat I look cheap. He advice me to always say the amount I want and boldly no matter how big the amount is .
You should have asked the HR If you'd get the job; had you quoted what the company can't afford. I see this salary questions by recruiters as a way to scam people. You look cheap my foot. tomorrow, the same management will complain of huge wage bill.

Anyway, he gave you an answer; it may not be true. The only way out is if you have an idea of the wage structure.that's not easy as people lie so much about their salaries.

they should go and pay. People are never circumspect this days when they talk in public. Even in Niraland don't you see how people comment? If seun can ban people on nairaland, I see no reason why the regulators shouldn't bring decorum and sanity to the media.

I call on other regulators in Nigeria to wake up to their duties; before the chaotic situation gets out of hand .

Finally, In Nigeria, where impunity is the order, any regulator who has not sanctioned anyone, is not doing its job (quote dualty on this any day.)

Or Ask Prof Dora of Nafdac.

any sane mind will know that Oritsejafor has always said the truth in this country. But some folks will only see him from the angle of him owning a Jet.

Again, He has spoken and spoken well. This man has never shifted his stand on Boko haram Both at home and abroad. we all can attest to that. The president has to wake up and if possible sacrifice his presidency for posterity sake.
CareerRe: Common Interview Questions And Answer Tips by duality(m): 9:24pm On Apr 03, 2013
Jarus: 6, What are your weaknesses? I remember an interview I did with an investment institution in late 2006, my first interview experience, just few weeks after finishing university. I had read a lot about interviews (that was basically what I spent the most of my final year doing) and known that you don’t say you don’t have any weakness. My response to that question was:

“Hmmnnn, a couple of people have told me I can be impatient while working with a team, especially with slow members. When two, three people say something, they may not wrong. So I think this is a weakness I am working on. In actual fact, the desire to achieve a team goal drives my impatience as I hate failure. But I have come to realize individual differences, especially in pace, and I’m beginning to adjust.”
Having read the above, I remembered reading this one below.

Making a So-Called Weakness Seem Positive
Interviewers frequently ask candidates, "What are your weaknesses?" Conventional interview wisdom dictates that you highlight a weakness like "I'm a perfectionist," and turn it into a positive. Interviewers are not impressed, because they've probably heard the same answer a hundred times. If you are asked this question, highlight a skill that you wish to improve upon and describe what you are doing to enhance your skill in this area. Interviewers don't care what your weaknesses are. They want to see how you handle the question and what your answer indicates about you.
now what do you think

Christianity EtcRe: Clapping For Pastors After Preaching by duality(m): 7:58pm On Mar 31, 2013
all these is because pastors these days, deliver seminars rather than preach messages that will make evil men uncomfortable on their sits. the more reasons we have few broken Christians these days. for me, great sermons should lead listeners into serious prayers and supplication and resolve for character change. In the days of Jonathan Edwards, people couldn't clap or cheer after sermons. The kind of sermons that will lead to great awakening that we desperately desire is not really being preached. Hence, you find clapping and cheering after a Sunday colloquium.

GraceBestowed: Hey, Duality. There's a difference between being eager and being enthusiastic, the former can come off as irritating. Being eager breeds impatience, and that's not cute. :-)
I don't quite get/agree with this your explanation; b/cos being eager = being enthusiastic. But I get the angle of being patient and having self control.

RomanceRe: Ladies' Guide On How NOT To Court!! by duality(m): 1:28pm On Mar 31, 2013
Good one i must say. However, My reservations with No 1, is that I will retreat from any relationship where the lady does not show enthusiasm or look forward to a blissful union with me. maybe in an attempt not to look "EAGER" Relationships these days is just too complex why make it more complex. anything like that may suggest to me that she has some reservations about the relationship or she hasn't made up her mind.

Personally, If a lady claims she loves me and will want to go all the way with me, I see no reason for foot dragging. I may try to push her a little and maybe reassure her, but not for long. If i don't see the enthusiasm, I will withdraw. It too risky to be with someone who doesn't really, really, really like you.

Finally, Ladies should not forget the they are the ones who really make the men committed to the relationship ordinarily the men will not commit.

mediainspired: @duality, no matter how mischievous u think some anti-GEJ are getting here on NL, u must also remember that there some truths in them when they become so much. Before u start shifting the blame to the states &LGs, what stops the FG frm publishing the allocation details for the sake of accountability? Then we know who to hold responsible. It's only GEJ &Ngozi that talk about SURE-P to justify their subsidy abracadabra. Mind u, not all anti GEJ sentiments here are by ACN followers or non Niger Deltans. Fact is, this govt's popularity is very, very low.
For your question see below.

Gracias @awodman

PoliticsRe: Which SURE-P Project Is Visible In Your Area? by duality(m): 3:29pm On Mar 25, 2013
@ OP go and protest in front of your LGA and STATE GOVT HOUSES first before I can take this tread serious. We just keep putting up topics just to vilify the president. but honestly has it changed any thing? It has not and I don't think it will. This underscores the impotence of these endless GEJ insulting threads. Go and demand God governance at the state and Local govt level or you think they din't receive SURE-P funds. The other day excess crude funds was disbursed; has any of you protested at you various regional and local govt demanding how these found were specifically utilized?

I'm not saying you should't ask the fed govt questions. But things like this gives the Politicians the impression that the Fed Govt is the wicked father and is hated, while their ineptitude is condoned.

Rather that opening endless threads on GEJ, why cant the civil society and all those who feel concerned monitor these founds from Abuja down to the LGAs and Protest if not well utilized.

I have been looking for SURE P projects from state and LGAs (even if its propaganda) I've not seen any. or did they not collect any kobo from SURE P?

Lets be broad minded in looking at this thing. If I'm getting it mixed up somewhere, someone should please educate me.
