@OP, people voice what they want to believe not necessarily because they are really sure of it. Let me be very honest with you, I may not vote for GEJ in 2015 because for now I'm not sure of what will happen. besides, I did not vote for him in 2011 and that did't stop him from winning. I have done a serious consultation and the honest fact is that; if GEJ runs for the presidency in 2015, he will win no matter who runs against him. This may be hard to believe but look, its the hard truth. People can thereafter analyse it scientifically or politically or in whatever way they like. This man's rating will suddenly skyrocket prior to the 2015 election.

The only thing that can stop GEJ, is if he does not run. let me say it better (The only thing that can stop GEJ is GEJ)

I challenge any one to go find out from seers or whatever way the feel like.

The nerve-wracking traffic, which keeps motorists stranded for several hours on the River Niger Bridge at Onitsha, Anambra State, may soon be a thing of the past, as work will soon begin on the second bridge across the Niger River. Speaking to Daily Sun yesterday, the Public Relations Manager of Julius Berger Plc, which got the concession from the Federal Government to construct the bridge, Mr Clement Iloba, said the ground breaking ceremony will be performed next month. Iloba said that the timeline for the completion of the project was four years and that every arrangement has been made to meet the date. He, however, did not disclose the exact date when the groundbreaking event would take place nor the cost of the entire project.

Last week, at the 43rd Julius Berger Annual General Meeting (AGM), its Managing Director, Mr Wolfgang Goetsch, disclosed that the Federal Government had given Julius Berger a letter of intent, which would enable it to do preliminary work such as, soil testing and engineering design. He explained that the bridge would be built under the private public partnership arrangement. “A consortium that included a South Africa firm participated in the bidding for the project. In January 2013, our group became the preferred bidder. We are excited because it will be the first of its kind in Nigeria,” he noted. Investigation by Daily Sun revealed that Julius Berger brought to the agreement table, the sum of N100billion, while the Federal Government is paying 30 percent equity. The 30 percent equity by government, according to our investigation, will be generated through the SURE-P programme. Giving insight into the project, the Special Adviser to the Minister of Works on Media, Mr Tony Ikpasaja, said the total length of the bridge including the accompanying road construction work is 12.4 kilometres.

Said Ikpasaja: “The entire bridge and approach road is 12.4km. The bridge itself is 1.8km, while the approach road is 10.6km.” He said: “The approach road begins from Asaba before the airport, and veers to the right to hit the bridge, while from the bridge, the road takes you into Onitsha-Owerri road and also, to Onitsha-Enugu road.” Meanwhile, the ground-breaking of the rehabilitation contract of the Lagos-Shagamu Road has been slated for July 5, 2013. According to Iloba, Julius Berger will handle the Lagos-Shagamu end of the 125 kilometre-road, while Road Construction Company (RCC) will rehabilitate the Shagamu-Ibadan section of the road. The Lagos-Shagamu end which is about N67 kilometres was contracted to Julius Berger for N17 billion whereas the Shagamu-Ibadan stretch is about 58 kilometres though the contract cost was not disclosed. The scope of work would include provision of three additional lanes in either direction between Lagos and Shagamu interchange, making it five lanes; provision of associated facilities for security and welfare of the user as well as ensuring a free flow of traffic. However, Julius Berger had earlier handled section one of the road from the old toll gate in Lagos to Shagamu in Ogun State while RCC rehabilited the section from Shagamu to Ibadan as part of palliative measure by the Federal Ministry of Works.

The contract was awarded to Messrs Bi-Cortney on a build, operate and transfer arrangement for 25 years but the contract was revoked last year because Bi-Cortney did not keep its own part of the bargain. Federal Government under President Umaru Musa Yar’ Adua on May 26, 2009 awarded the contract to Messrs Bi-Cortney which was revoked by the President Goodluck Jonathan administration. Other projects completed by the giant construction firm include, Escravos Gas to Liquid facility, Delta; Admiralty Alexander Link Bridge, Lagos; Atlas Cove Jetty Rehabilitation, Lagos; Abak-Ikot Ekpene Road, Akwa-Ibom; Discharge Drain Abak, Akwa Ibom. Other ongoing projects are River Terminal Airstrip, Bonny Island; Central Bank of Nigeria Office, Lagos; Rose of Sharon Building, Lagos; Railway Completion Ajaokuta to Warri and Rehabilitation and Expansion of Airport Expressway, Abuja.

Rotimi, is being silly. unfortunately he is being applauded by the media, opposition party, and some disgruntled folks. Unfortunately, Rotimi is being foolish because non of those applauding him really give a damn about him. Their ONLY reason for support, is simply because they feel he is openly against the president.

The day Rotimi amaechi reconciles with the president, the noise will stop and he'll know they really do not like him.

Look man,I don't know fashola. Note that you won't get any honest answer to that question because people see performance from various perspective; unless you want political answers.

If I am the minister of information, I'll tell you that the president is performing better than fashola relative to the time they have spent administering their present offices. I know you won't agree with that. So, for people like me who are neutral and not emotionally attached to any candidate, I don't ask your kind of questions. I ask the type I asked you earlier.

I cant imaging what the news will be; if an ACN politician was on that Aircraft. some folks would have spun all sorts of political stories and permutations. The president would have been brought to Niraland slaughter house; and no one would have waited a second to reason objectively.

Okija forget that thing. any place you see such gathering, money is being spent. Even if you become the president tomorrow, you'll spend money pulling supporters and cheerleaders. Its a necessity in the nigerian political environment. People even transport such people from one state to another especially during political rallies. its normal, Its not a Patience Jonathan thing.

The only rule I give is to keep relationships HOLY. This is the only time tested rule for relationship. The rest are all human logic that REALLY changes nothing.

GEJ will win if he runs for a second term. The election will be free, credible but not fair.

APC should consult their gods and find out if it will say anything different from what I've stated.

Its normal for humans to react that way. ACN will do the same if Lie Mohamad commends the strides of PDP. To me Tambuwal is just playing to the gallery. Besides, he has never openly commended the positives strides of his Party men; Not even Rotimi his bosom friend.

So he should keep quiet and face his legislative duties. He should not forget that the legislator has not passed any groundbreaking bill under his watch. apart from the 80-70 Dollar oil bench mark grandstanding.

Rednose: @OP. It seems to me that one of the reasons development is slow in Nigeria is because of political-party competition. As a good citizen, why not contact the Local Govt. in charge of these schools. Where are these schools located? The locations are not mentioned in this post. Posting pictures here with caption '...Keep in mind Lagos has been under ACN for almost 16 years now...' is not enough.

I feel strongly that Lagos state has seen tremendous change under the present administration, even though more needs to be done. Besides, development is the responsibility of, not only the govt. but also of the citizenry. Nigerians keep quiet way too much, the PTA of the schools whose photos are posted here should have complained to the school authorities. Complaints could possibly have been made but the Local Govt. Council is not responsive about the issue.

It is good that you enlighten others about what goes on elsewhere; however, don't be biased about it and it would be helpful to include the locations of these schools.

well said. But you should have said this in the "opposite" thread. Because of PDP and ACN/APC politics, we no longer reason objectively. we can no longer address any issue on its merit anymore. we either Blame PDP or GEJ so as to make the opposition look good. or Fight he opposition to make them know they are bad.

Tinubu accuses the president of not fighting poverty. In his own state he has not fought poverty, nether has the present governor done anything substantial about poverty. Now If we want to address such issue; People will reduce it to PDP/GEJ vs ACN/APC. The truth is we cannot develop this way.
