True talk... But, i still believe Tinubu is not going to contest for the presidency... All these are political publicity stunts which at the end, he will step down for vice president to contest...

By so doing, he would be seen as a man who sacrificed his life ambition for the progress of the nation thereby redeeming his image and putting the vice president in a good stead.
Do you have any empirical reasons to believe so?

The solution is to remove subsidy, allow marketers to control the price, then in return for 'high prices' we get regular supply of quality and clean petrol...and more refineries, more jobs, more investment.

But no, we want cheap fuel.

Well, this is what we paid for....dirty and occasionally adulterated fuel...because we want it cheap. Not standard.
Is AGO cheap?
PoliticsRe: PDP And Zoning: Setting The Record Straight by duality(m): 8:17am On Feb 09, 2022
MartinsOnyx:
As the debate on power shift and zoning continues to engulf the political space, the importance of putting this besieging subject in proper perspective cannot be hyperbolized. In order to get rid of the pervading conjectures and adulterated opinions, this topic has to be swiftly put to bed.

Putting it rather charitably, the towncriers amplifying this clamour for the main opposition party, the PDP to zone its ticket to the South are either meddlesome interlopers or just up to mischief aimed at satiating their inordinate desires.

True to its billing as a party deeply rooted on the principles of equity, fairness and justice; the PDP, from 1999 till date has always zoned its elective positions on the basis of a North/South oscillation and vice versa. For avoidance of conflicts, let it be unequivocally stated that this rotation policy remains a domestic intra-party mechanism incubated by the founding fathers of the PDP to engender unity and inclusiveness. Also, nothing in the Nigerian constitution mandates parties to negotiate a power sharing formula among themselves. Thus, we run foul of no law.

Let it be on record that there was never a time since the formation of the PDP, that it went into an alliance or agreement with other parties to create some sort of uniform template on any issue; talk less zoning. The egalitarian podium on which our great party stands, certainly leaves no room for hobnobbing with its ideologically inferior counterparts. Ideally, one size hardly fits all.

In apparent deference to zoning, history shows that there has always been an exchange of baton along dichotomic lines since 1999 till we lost power in 2015. Olusegun Obasanjo; a Southerner, handed over the reins to Umaru Musa Yar'adua (R.I.P); a Northerner. Owing to the latter's demise, Dr. Goodluck Jonathan; a Southerner completed his principal's tenure before vying for his own mandate which culminated in the loss of power in 2015.

Between 1999 and 2015 that the PDP held sway, Presidents of southern extraction occupied the exalted office for over 13 out of the total period of 16 years. This figure amounts to a whopping value of 81%. Like they say, numbers don't lie. After the manipulated defeat of the party's candidate in 2019, the right of first refusal for the 2023 ticket still belongs to the North.

Arguing against this lucid position only reeks of political expediency. Ultimately, he who demands equity must not approach it with leprous hands. Matter of fact, the moral burden is now on the ruling APC, to emulate the PDP by respecting the plurality of its members ethnic and religious diversity. However, it is nobody's business if the party chooses the path of ignominy for which it has gained unprecedented notoriety.

In synopsis, issues such as zoning; though delicate, are strictly party affairs and our party's precedence shows the premium we place on it. With our pride of place as the biggest political party in Nigeria, our decisions should not pander to the whims, emotional outbursts and monkey tricks of rival parties. Lest we fail.

North or South, let the party reign supreme. God bless the PDP!! God bless Nigeria!!!

PoliticsRe: Is Amaechi Really A Threat To SW Ambition? by duality(m): 11:43pm On Feb 06, 2022
seunmsg:
The problem with folks like you is that you think this is just a SW battle. Very far from it. It’s a southern battle and not a SW battle.

Before Tinubu’s public declaration, the news was awash with the tale that Buhari has endorsed Goodluck Jonathan for a 4 year term. After Tinubu’s declaration, the story changed to Amaechi as the preferred candidate.

So you see, we are making progress. Tinubu, Osinbajo, Amaechi etc are APC members from the south. Any of them can fly the flag of the party as far as we are concerned. What matters is that power should return to the south for 8 years and nothing less.
This was not the original posture and you know that facts. The whole thing was more of a Yoruba thing. Infact a Tinubu thing.

It was more of that, Tinubu is so large, unchallengeable and have it all covered and everyone else can go to hell. There was no signal for the south to come together in this project. Even those who felt Osinbajo was another option, were harassed.

You people are exposing Tinubu so much.

If this whole thing is not well managed, many people will jump into the APC 2023 ring, and you'll be shocked how much influence others have. Of course the north will be the battle ground and it may shock you.

No body should come tomorrow, to say Buhari betrayed them. It's almost now a free for all.
PoliticsRe: Is Amaechi Really A Threat To SW Ambition? by duality(m): 9:48pm On Feb 06, 2022
seunmsg:
Some days ago, the Amaechi taunters were all over the place making noise about Peter Obi Pandora. They all switched to Amaechi yesterday because he was turbaned in Daura. They will switch to Orji Uzor or Ngige tomorrow based on the direction of the news in as much as the person the news is projecting is not from the SW.

It is not new an unsurprising. It should be expected till the primaries are decided. Like I said yesterday, Amaechi is a member of APC and well qualified to run for president. Our aim is a southern president and nothing else. If he emerged as the candidate of APC in a free and fair primary contest, we shall support him fully. In fact, I will carry him on my head like a gala hawker.

Again, Amaechi is the last person anybody can use to taunt the SW. When those shouting his name now turned against him in 2015, it was the SW social media community that stood by him. We fought all his enemies to a standstill on Nairaland. It’s only a silly mind that would think we will turn against him because he’s contesting for president.
You are beginning to see that the battle in APC will be tough. If you allow everyone go into this ring, you'll be shocked that the SW don't have it covered as much as you'd want to believe.
PoliticsRe: 2023: Why Amaechi Will Be Apc’s Best Candidate; Thicks All Boxes. by duality(m): 8:58pm On Feb 06, 2022
FreeStuffsNG:
He should just convince APC Rivers first.

In APC Rivers State alone, Senator Abe's faction of APC don't see eye to eye with him which led to Amaechi's political relegation into opposition just after his tenure and the defeat of APC in Rivers) and delegates from neighbouring states like Abia(where OUK who is contesting) or SS states like Edo (where Oshiomhole he used his protege, Giadom, to scatter his Exco is still in charge), Delta (Omo Agege who wants to contest for Delta governorship and need broader and stronger political platform in APC ), Akwa Ibom (where Akpabio is contesting too) and Cross Rivers first( where Prof Ayade is new and yet to disclose his plans ) won't vote for him in the primaries wink

Sincerely, If HE Amaechi really wanted to win delegates, he should not be in this political isolation. He is a loner and will lose even in his Rivers State if the election is conducted today or tomorrow.

He can't even guarantee votes from his state delegates during the primaries let alone at the General election in a Rivers State where HE Wike has repeatedly beaten him.

APC can't even win Rivers State let alone the SS if he is presented in an election the SW will give a protest vote against APC if it dare gives its ticket to any other zone apart from the SW.

Car TalkRe: What’s The Best Car For Uber/Bolt On A Low Budget? by duality(m): 6:37pm On Feb 03, 2022
adonainana:
Yes you can get a V4 Honda Accord 2006 Nigerian used for that price for 800,000 naira

So far it’s V4, it’s good for Uber as it doesn’t consume fuel like the V6 model

If you find an Honda Civic too, 2004 model upward it will do the job

As funny as it sounds a Honda Civic consumes less fuel than corrola or Camry or any totyota product, I have used both

Now back to the naysayers who will try and discourage you about your budget, it’s what you have that you will use to get what you need

Someone who probably doesn’t have a car yet is already talking about visiting a mechanic everyday now let me explain to you how these things work

A cars engine made up of piston, crank shaft etc works on wear and tear to be specific , imagine iron rods rubbing themselves inside engine oil to fire out combustion almsost everyday and as long as the engine is ignited and running

This is why the longer the millage of a car the weaker the engine is and vice versa

A brand new car not tokunbo car ooo ( a brand new car from the factory does not make any noise engine wise, reason because it’s engine is still completely new )

The reason why I am explaining this to you is to try and make you link how many kilometers a car has run to how weak or less effective or still sound the engine is

Even generator engines work on the same principle, I have been using the same generator for 3 years, but every 4 months or so we buy an HALF ENGINE and the generator is turned on everyday day

Wear and tear over a long time is what weakens engines of cars or anything made of up a mechanics systems

So going back to your budget of 800k for Eod Homda acconrd 2006 , you will get one for that price and surprise surprise all you have to do is to use your mechanic to gauge well how many months or years the engine still has left

Once the engine is still very sound, you are good to use it every day to transport people

Pls don’t listen to people trying to discourage you

Pls go to any motor park and check out the buses that transport people from lagos to Ibadan every day . One 1998 sienna took me from osun state to Abuja one time I couldn’t believe that type of van could be on the road for 14 hours to Abuja without spoiling on the road

Go to nurtw parks and see buses and vans being used for inter State transport and you will be shocked as to thier external state meanwhile it’s thier engine that still makes them going strong

Also a car engine never dies, only the OGs and the legends in the game know what to do when your car engine is giving you problems

So OP go and buy your car and start making money from it today and succeed like those before you

Good day
God bless you Jare... I've said this many times. Of course NL pseudo Rich men, will always stop people from moving.

Go to the streets, you'd find the car and run your thing.

PoliticsRe: Subsidy Removal Must Benefit Citizens, Not Wealthy Nigerians - NGF by duality(m): 4:37pm On Jan 27, 2022
backbencher:
Subsidy exists

It costs N282 to bring in one liter of refined fuel into the country

The same liter is sold at 162 naira at the pump

The difference between the two prices is paid by goverment as subsidy per liter.

And it has been that way since 1988.

Between 1973 and 1988, subsidy meant goverment paid part of the cost while allowing refineries make a profit. In today's terms, goverment would land fuel at N282 , marketer will propose selling at N350 , and out of that 350 govt pays N50, as subsidy

However since 1988, goverment has forced the petrol industry to sell at a loss and pays them a subsidy that does not cover the loss to help the poor. That's how it has been

If subsidy was not existent, you would have been paying 350 to 400 naira for fuel by now
This government have removed subsidy three times. Do a Google search then analyze the situation.
PoliticsRe: Subsidy Removal Must Benefit Citizens, Not Wealthy Nigerians - NGF by duality(m): 4:07pm On Jan 27, 2022
