That's why we have routine scarcity, and have to import fuel. And why we lost our 4 refineries, and , until the 6 private refineries we have began construction, no local refining capacity.

Sell fuel /PMS at a profit, and you incentivize local production. Don't do that, you have queues, and no refineries, because no one is going to build a refinery and sell fuel below N200. Or even at N40.(And when Dangote comes on stream, he is not going to sell for less than N300, or he won't have enough profit for staff salaries, maintenance, and expansion and pay off the loans he took for the thing.)

The same queues were seen over 30 years ago in communist countries because the State wanted to sell products like sugar and bread and meat at a cost that would force the producers of such stuff to lose money producing it.

Nigeria is in the state, because in 1973, we chose to sell fuel at government controlled prices to help the poor....which in practice meant no profit to have decent refineries running, among other things.


(I don;t like Buhari , and I am aware that people would suffer if we allow fuel to be sold at market price. But the fact is, despite all the decades of subsidies, people are suffering...from the debt we run up to keep the said subsides)

IPOB members and supporters keep disgracing Igbos on social media with their unhinged logic, stark lies and support for racists such as Trump and dictators such as Putin. The violence they have unleased in Igbo land is second to none and we are all suffering because of it. IPOB is not strategic, composed, balanced or pragmatic. They are emotional, impulsive, abusive and incoherent liars.

It is time for IPOB to transform itself into an intellectual power house and re-strategise in order to achieve its goals which are noble and healthy for the freedom and improvement of the Igbo race and others. IPOB must also invest in the re-education of our youth with history, logic and truth.

What possessed Putin to do this. Russia had a pretty strong economy with strong institutionns!! Russian companies were listed amongst the top 10 richest in the world, today they are wrecked.. there will be so many suicides in Russia. The has made some former billionaires paupers.

I am starting to think America indirectly pushed Putin by tickling his ego to do this knowing what will happen and how it would backfire massively... This is why it's always good to be wary of people praising you and pushing you to fight someone you are bigger than... In uni those days when H.I.T was in play they always send a smaller person to look for you trouble , you won't know it's a set up before you know it you are down. This is what I feel went on with Russia .

And president Xi of China has started speaking out against Russia, just let that sink in. A Russian ally China has betrayed Russia do you want to know why? The Chinese are not ready to go back to their years of suffering!!! Never rather they will follow and sanction Russia which is what is happening.
