1. No, except an NSF requesting more time or more documents

2. Any point when verifying your documents and assessing you meet the condition for student visa and there are no falsified or deceptive information

3. POE experiences differ, some have been asked basic questions, some detailed questions, some refused entry and asked to return it depends. You should be confident at that point if everything is okay

Can you include your attendance log to the email to show you have been attending classes

Did you do any assignment or coursework

Did you do any group work or task

Add as much evidence as you can that you have been attending classes

That will have to be the facts of your arguments,then we can add the emotional bits but the facts must remain

Keep chasing till you get an update on your application i.e CAS issuance ensure you have no outstanding conditions

Sorry that you are in this situation,

Few questions please

Why did you accept to defer? Have you already started lectures online, did you enrol online?

People have travelled months after their course start date due to visa issues and I am surprised that your school withdrew your CAS without notifying you

Also your visa wouldn't have been issued if UKVI was notified that your CAS had been withdrawn

If you are ready to travel and have been attending lectures please do not defer if you can, leave for your studies now

Because Yes, if you defer, you will need a new CAS and follow through the entire application process the best your Uni can offer is some form of financial assistance by way of fees discount which I doubt will even be approved


You might be on a roller coaster for a long time

My advise, draft a solid email and attach the relevant conversation you have had with the Uni about the updates and UKVI about the delay,send the someone of higher authority i.e VC and copy in as many heads or deans of school including anyone with focus on international students experience

Get them involved but first be ready to leave and attend Uni

Keeps us informed.

Good evening everyone. Pls I need your expert advice as regards what to do next
I recently picked up my passport on the 26th of July with visa issued on July 15 after a long wait( biometrics was April 1).
This was following complaint I made to the home office which they acknowledged and apologized claiming it was an administrative oversight because the visa was initially issued May 13. They eventually reissued another one July 15 having sited the error and tendered apologies.
My school final resumption date was July 5 after several extensions by my school though have been updating them about the visa delay.
I immediately mailed my school informing them of my visa but to my surprise they responded that the CAS has been withdrawn even tho it was still within the 6months expiration period cos it was issued March 30. They further said I should accept option to defer to the next academic date which I didn’t even mind but the issue now is they said I have to get a new CAS and apply for new visa (N.B I have to pay a new visa fee, IHS and do another TB as the present one expires soon mind you the present visa expires Oct 13
I mailed them back and also copied Home office stating my displeasure that I can’t accept making another visa application since it wasn’t my fault and a new visa was just issued. I further made them realize that if a new CAS must be issued then it should easily be updated with the present visa since it’s same office that issues both CAS and Visa
Am awaiting the school and home office response.
I need expert advise and I also want to know if anyone has experienced such before and if yes, how was it resolved.

Interesting,that hyphen omission is an issue for your passport renewal

Might be worth requesting that correction at NIN office, it will take a while though

Will an affidavit be sufficient for them

How many months are left on the passport? And can you use it for his dependant application if possible and renew in the UK

No,you don't need transit visa as long as you don't leave the airport

Which I reckon will be the case

With transit, ensure you find your boarding gate early because you may think layover of 2hrs is alot.

Remember this is for self service,if. You selected assisted then TLS will do so on your behalf

Follow through with IOMs recommendation inform your Uni on this and possible delays it will lead to so they are fully aware

I believe there will be options to enrol and attend lectures online so prepare for that and get a good wifi, please don’t miss lectures when it is time

Once your Tb is clear then proceed with your Visa application. Inform your school when you arrive.

I am the MA with 3 dependants. We all went for TB test on Monday, all others came out clean expect for me. It’s just as the name says

After your biometrics you will keep your passport,when a decision is made then you will be contacted to submit your passport for your visa. It is more useful for people who apply for visit visa and have other trips lined up for them.

I personally will not advise anyone applying for their student visa to do so unless it is truly important.The reason is because their are further delays from when a decision is made and when your passport is returned back with your visa

If checks are made and the company either doesn’t exist or you didn’t work there that’s falsified information and will attract 10years ban

If you haven’t worked you haven’t work,don’t produce a document that can’t be verified

There seems to be an overwhelming backlog in processing visa application (including vignettes ) at the moment

Does she need her passport to travel elsewhere? Otherwise she should please be patient

She will hopefully get her passport before the end of the escalation timeframe

She is a Single Applicant.

10 working days has passed and an escalation was done yesterday (Tuesday), only for the applicant to receive a mail that it has been escalated and she should wait for 15working days before contacting UKVI.

All she wants now is her passport, decision has been made over 2weeks now.

Is there anything that can be done on this?

Escalations are done when it is past the recommended decision wait times,for student visa (3weeks) dependants (3-6weeks)

When you make a paid call or send a mail and you are advised it is still awaiting decision inform the representative on the phone that it is past the wait time and you will want this escalated, sometimes it is done automatically without requesting
