4. After you have finished your application, submitted and when booking your appointment for your biometrics you can add that service on TLS

5. Your Uni is notifying UKVI that they conducted credibility interview and probably attached a copy on the sponsorship system for their record, pretty much saying they are satisfied that your intention is to study

Please, guys, my friend has submitted her UK student visa application. She has been denied 3 times in the past for some reasons but nothing insincere. She also stated the refusals in her application form.

First refusal -Sep 2014 - She was an NYSC corper and she wanted to travel for her brother's Masters graduation in the UK. She was refused because the ECO said that corpers are not allowed to travel out of Nigeria during their service year.
2nd refusal -Nov 2019 - She had a well-paying job but was refused due to large deposits in the account (they were actually investments that matured but she didn't write a cover letter to explain).
3rd refusal -Jan 2022 - She wanted to go and visit her mother and brother for Christmas who are residents in the UK. Her application was perfect but she was unjustly refused. She submitted 2 bank accounts. One has over $10k which she used as her POF for the trip. The second one had just ₦300k but she only put it there to prove that she was a salary earner. What is funny is that the ECO quoted her dollar bank account number saying that it is her Naira account then stated that she didn't have enough money for the trip. We had actually seen some people on NL complain about this before and how ECOs completely pretend like they didn't see a second bank account (mostly for visitor's visas) but she never knew it would happen to her too.

She has her CAS from the University of Manchester, she has her English evidence, employment letter, payslips for all the years she has worked, TB certificate and ₦20 million in her account as proof of finances even though she only needed ₦15 million as POF.
Please what are her chances of getting a student visa? will she be denied based on her previous refusals?

Please be patient,you have submitted what you need to.

NSF can sometimes lead to abit of delay because the additional documents you submitted needs to be assessed.

Proceed to collect your passport and wait for your husband's collection email

My husband got an NSF mail on the 20th July to proof his relationship with me ,which we did and submitted on the 23rd of July.

I got a collection mail from TLS on the 28th July but my husband own is still at DMC

Please advise accordingly as am under a serious tension.

Absolutely

The dependant can study full or part time actually

The only reason a CAS is needed is if the dependant's visa won't cover the entire duration of study i.e the dependant applies 6months to the end of current visa then a CAS will be needed to switch from dependant to student visa and an application to do so will be made in the UK

Wondering why both husband and wife will want to go for study visa at the same time knowingly fully well that dependants can also study full time.


My opinion, one person goes for study visa and the other and kids as dependant. The dependant can also study full time. If the dependant applies within the UK, it should be easier and should not require CAS because they already have a valid visa, however the fees will be classed as overseas so it will be the same fees for international students

On the other hand, if only one person applies for student visa and the other partner as dependent, can the dependent go for the masters degree with the student dependent visa? Does the partner still need CAS in this instance?

If he isn't traveling with you at the moment it is a No

If he isn't dependant on you financially it is also a No

When he is ready to apply he will be joining you in the UK which is perfectly fine

Also his information appears as your spouse so it will be noted

My husband's info only appears under spouse information. I didn't mention him as a dependent since he is not depending on me financially ( he will be joining me much later)

On the visa application where it was asked *is this person travelling with you*? am I to select yes or no? Reason I'm asking is because I'm afraid if I select no hope it won't be a problem if he wants to apply and join me later since he is not my dependent?

Your husband is the dependant and needs that information to prove relationship so he will submit it

Your marriage certificate doesn't add any points for your study visa, keep it simple

That's not too bad a step

Ensure you send an email saying you give the person authorisation to speak on your behalf, send to your Uni and your friend

Ask to be dialled in the conversation if possible

Did you copy the other heads and your VC as advised?

When sending your email please include the urgent mark, also put Urgent in your subject title


Actually this last paragraph works for those still waiting to hear from their respective Uni's

A friend in the US used his card over there to help pay for IHS and VISA fee, but for my son the VISA fee was charges / deducted twice.

He first used a card about 5 times, he keep declining and i get an email for all the declined payment. He then used another card which was successful @ first attempt.

Unknowingly to him, one of the 5 "failed attempts" (i think one of the last 2) was actually on "pending status" which was later debited (from his account detail on the same card) but i got "payment refused" email for all 5.

How do i go about raising this with UKVI to get one of the payment refunded ?

I have sent an email to complaints@homeoffice.gov.uk but no response for 2 days now.

Kindly suggest how best to approach this?

You can't just do a marriage certificate in the UK. They are married and already have a certificate from the mosque

Don't worry much, anything else to proof your Union(relationship) is accepted. (WhatsApp chat screenshot, hotel bills, flight ticket, family pictures) all are accepted. You can go and do marriage certificate when you get to UK.




Try to be monitoring the TLS portal for possible amendment.

First don't believe pictures, because things may appear to be what it isn't for instance the size of room may appear bigger than it truly is. Also pictures do not pick up issues like moulds or electrical faults so always view the apartment in person before committing to any tenancy agreement

2. Few extra things to consider within the apartment, the type of heating, please go for gas central heating not electric, the bills are more when it is the latter

3. If you think you might drive at some point go for houses/accommodation that have parking even if you aren't buying a car immediately

4. Distance to your Uni or atleast the bus system should be priority too

5. Have a look at the schools around the area and check their Ofsted rating for your dependants

6. If you are more detailed you could check the crime rates too

Something I also did when I used to rent back then was to have a chat with the neighbors about the area,it was always quite useful but if you don't want to then Google map street view will give you an idea of what is in the area.

It depends on what your siblings can help

You can credit their naira while they pay for you in pounds

There's no short cut to fast biometrics date, you have to keep looking.
People here have suggested to book a far date and try to change it to a closer date when you see one
