debosky:abeg go find a fly to swat with a hammer joo, na only defence play ball? na Koscielny side dem take score goals? our attack no work today simple. |
Suddenly we have put ourselves under unnecessary pressure yet again, even if we are 2 goals up at the Emirates and people go still dey pee dem pants expecting another Jason Roberts moment? what sort of rubbish is this?Infact, if dem never score 4 goals for emirates sef, mind no go settle. |
debosky:That was a difficult ball over the top, from deep, besides he kept up with Priskin and didn't allow him get a shot quickly, and it wasn't costly. On the day, he was one of our better players, if they had kept the clean sheet I wld have been thanking him for largely keeping Priskin quiet. Personally, I have no one to blame in the defence today. |
mystikal:All Ipswich did was leave Priskin upfront and all the others behind the ball and kept hitting the ball to him, he got the opportunity to score by an offside trap gone wrong, Eboue was raising his hand when he shld have been tracking Priskin. In the first instance we shouldn't have put ourselves in the position we found ourselves in when we knew we are not good at keeping clean sheets. Horrible performance and one that shouldn't have happened. |
debosky:What exactly has Koscielny done wrong in this match? ![]() If you ask me, our CBs were our best players on the day, The MF and attack was horrible, even Cesc was horrible today, just didn't look interested and I don't want anyone to come here with the bollocks about him going anywhere cos we're not winning when even he didn't do anything to show he wanted to win. This is mighty annoyin, and the mentality of this team should be rightly questioned. You had a near escape against Leeds and still didn't learn yur lesson? when exactly then will you learn? ![]() I think this team most times descends to the level of the opposition they encounter, why must yu come to Ipswich and believe they'll just lie down for yu? Call it being average or whatever yu will but I think there is a thinking in this team to only do the barest minimum to get by. |
^^ Ipswich have parked everything they have at the back. If only we had gotten an early goal. The boys can do it in the 2nd. I think they should be looking for Theo's runs on the right. Passing is a bit slow, I wonder why Denny insists on 2 touches when one wld suffice. |
@proudlynaija You shld know Arsene well by now, if he doesn't get a good deal, then we aint gettin anybody. All La Liga watchers will now be able to see what Wellinton Silva is about very soon as he has gone on loan to Levante. I believe this chap will be brilliant. Wish yu all the best son. Dr. Kit please try and watch this boy when yu can, he might become your second loved player after JET. He is very skillful and also a very commited and hard working player. I'll be watching out for Connor Wickham tonite against us in the Carling Cup, looked good in the U17 euros |
Spclst900:It seems we must always have one such complicated muscular/cartilage/tendon/ligament injury case per season at Arsenal and if we are somehow lucky not to, then there is some brute from a strong arm tactic team quite willing to do us the favour by breaking someone's leg. ![]() |
Ibime:Actually he sorts of drifts wide a bit like Henry only does more damage from the right cos his left foot is stronger. This is what Liam Brady said about him a few weeks back. I think he has found his best position now under Neil Banfield, in that roving role on the right side of the attack.though yu might want to question Neil Banfield's coaching expertise after yesterday's 10 - 1 debacle. ![]() He played mostly as a LM or LWF in the youth cup and U18 academy double winning team and didn't exactly catch the eye but at that time the likes of Wilshere were getting all the attention and the question on everyone's lips then was determining what his best position is as he basically played all positions on the left side and middle of the pitch. He was most prolific at Doncaster where he played a sorta free advanced AM role kind of like how VDV plays for spurs and got 5 goals and 2 assists in 12 starts but he is not likely getting such a position anytime soon either in Arsenal or any PL club. |
Debo, yur worst nitemare might still come true, they are linking us with Spahic again. or should I rather say he is linking himself with us again. |
proudly9ja:JET's repertoire of skillz is definitely more than Chamakh's whether he will ever be as professional I'm not so sure. He won't be replacing Chamakh in the next 1 season though so Debo need not worry, I think they are moulding him for a wide role. |
debosky:No one says he should definitely be a starter, all people want is that he be given a fair chance to prove himself. Its just like Wilshere and Denilson at the start of the season, if not for Cesc's injury giving Jack an opportunity to prove himself he might still be out on loan somewhere. I clearly recall you and some others giving me grief last season when I was bold enough to say both Jack and Szczesny were good enough for the first team. As much as I respect Arsene, even he shoots himself in the foot atimes, but I understand his position that the stakes are really high this season. There is practically no reason why Rosicky should be played as a wide forward when yu've got a JET chomping at the bits. |
proudly9ja:I hope so too o, but we need to win something this season first. Some of those boys are already better or at the least will put in some more hustle like Lansbury. |
slimshay:I feel you Slim, JET needs to grow up but he does sound dedicated to his game though, but not as Jack is. |
To be honest, Villa have generally tended to always beat us at Reserves level in the southern section which is why I wasn't too surprised at the emergence of guys like Albrighton and Bannan into their first team (I've consistently heard those names at Reserve level for the past 2-3 years), they always tended to beat the earlier sets of guys like Gibbs/Lansbury/Randall and co, they also tend not to loan their youngsters out a lot like we do, at present Arsenal has like 8-9 players out gaining experience. Even if we had a full strength team out against that Villa side it would be tough as they are like the Chelsea of that level of football to put this in perspective, they beat a Manure team with Obertan and Bebe in it 4-1 abt 2 months ago and have between 20 - 25 PL appearances already this season in the first 11 yesterday. In all fairness, it was a bit like Hungry Men against boys yesterday which is why I'd rather blame the reserves coaching crew for the embarrassment. |
hannie:Dr. Kit, I hope you also remember that this Arsenal team below was once beaten 6 - 1 by Manure, replace those names you didn't bold up there with the likes of Luzhny and Stepanovs and yu'll have a clear picture why we got hammered. I'll paraphrase the bible, "If the foundation (defence) be destroyed, what can JET do?" at least the poor chap still managed an assist from a CB position. ![]() Arsenal: Seaman, Luzhny, Cole, Grimandi, Stepanovs, Pires, Vieira, Parlour, Silvinho, Wiltord, Henry. Subs: Ljungberg, Bergkamp, Manninger, Vivas, Kanu. |
Guys, the match was horrible and should best be consigned to the garbagge of history where it belongs. I don't blame the boys much yu will get the odd horrible performance from youngsters, particularly those who are on the whole playing against players 2-3 years their senior. Of a truth, those who should mostly be in our reserves like Coquelin, Lansbury, Afobe, Cruise and co are all out on loan and even the likes of Ignasi Miquel (the reserves captain who himself is still eligible for U18 competition) was unavailable having been on the bench for the FA cup game. About 5 of those who started also played an U18 game on Saturday, while Villa had a lot of guys angling for first team places like Delfouneso, Hogg and Herd. Its the coaching team I blame for this one mostly, the balance just wasn't right from the onset and we wld likely have lost but the red card only made things worse, at the end of the day JET who was supposed to be leading the line had to become a CB. I would have to question Neil Banfield's decision to play a 5' 9 Nico Yenariss as a CB but then reserve level is also for training and experimenting mostly for us anyway. I personally think its a good albeit a harsh lesson for a really young team, on the bright side they now owe those Villa boys one cos of the way they rubbed it in so next time they meet any member of this team, I expect fireworks. |
Lagosboy:This stuff is deep and worthy of respect, it is not much different from evidence being thrown out of court if obtained inappropriately. |
debosky:No vexx jare, na your fault say some people no understand meanin of downward spiral. ![]() presido1:Ogbeni, don't change the topic. I made the statement last season so yu use the time I'm speaking from as a reference, not 2 seasons ago. I'm not concerned about what you did last summer. Go back to your thread and stop this wind up mission. ![]() |
presido1:don't speak too soon this man, the first time I mentioned Manure going down was last season, but then even if someone mentioned it 2 seasons ago, you won the league at a canter and got to the final of the UCL in that season, last season yu could only win the Carling Cup, is that downwards, upwards or maintaining the same level? ![]() |
I can understand eldee's frustrations, its a kind of knee jerk reaction. Lets win this Carling Cup first and then people can settle. On the other hand, and I hope I'm not asking for trouble with this. Has our number 1 closet supporter been on the thread today? I almost miss him. ![]() |
edoyad:thank you o my broda, e be like say some people like Presido1 get different dictionary for house and Debo don refuse to help sort dem out. ![]() |
mystikal:Benik Afobe, another Arsenal loanee might play against us in this fixture if we qualify. I think Watt did quite well yesterday. |
edoyad:The graph plotted for a declining team has a very gentle slope at the beginning (cos there is still some belief and feel good factor) and gradually increases until the graph suddenly attains an exponential shape (when all belief is gone and you now need to accept where you are and work towards rebuilding). For reference, you only need look at Liverpool last season (now exponential) and Chelsea (gradually increasing). We came close initially at the latter end of 05/06 and Beginning of 06/07 and then tipped again at the beginning of 08/09 after losing Hleb and Flamoney but that was quickly arrested solely by buying Arshavin. I'm watching Manure with keen interest to see if SAF can work his magic with the same financial constraints Arsene had to battle, in all honesty I think they'll survive as they have the best balance of youth and experience at present but definitely not as the force they've been in the past 3/4 years. |
ritchboy:I trust they will come up with a lot of bad language and absurd innuendos. ![]() |
dipo2much:No mind 4llerbuntu, what he has failed to realise is that no manager is perfect and that we are largely still at the highest level of football due to Wenger's shrewdness. One can overlook the occasional blips afterall the other teams also exist too and will have their days. |
eldee, na the unnecessary press dey worry me, no one accused him and an apology wasn't necessary cos the penalty wasn't given anyway. But yu never know how these things work with these oyibo people, na dem boy so they can say that he was being honest. Yu never know on the the day he really dives they might back him and say if he truly dived he would own up. I don't think owning up was necessary joo, though its the right thing to do. |
debosky:I'll disagree with you about Cesc changing the game, that was clearly visible even Arsene noticed it:
On the impact of Cesc Fabregas, Straight away he gives us something in the speed of the passing that makes our game much quicker and more dangerous. It shows you how important it is to pass and see quickly in midfield.
Rosicky still has some quality no doubt, that pass Arshavin wasted in the first half was sublime but he doesn't seem to have the energy to play that Advanced playmaker role that Cesc plays at a high tempo, I think he should be withdrawn to play one of those 2 holding MF role anytime he plays. That Cesc role is critical to our play as it carries the creative responsibility for the team, even on days when Cesc is off form we suffer and aimlessly pass the ball around in MF cos the ball doesn't get to the front line quickly enough and the opponent's defence settles, It doesn't look as bad with Rosicky when either of Nasiru or an in-form Arshavin is playing cos they sometimes also come central and RVP has enough quality to come deep and play the WFs in unlike Bendtner and Chamakh. I could recall Song having to drive into the box on his own in the first half cos we simply werent creating enof chances. I wonder why Arsene doesn't try Denny a bit more in that role but what do I know he could be worse. Lest I forget, its not all hard knocks for players today, another brilliant performance and a save from Tech 9 to keep us in the game and thank God it wasn't in vain this time cos we did equalise. |
Slimshay:I hope that news is true o, we need a player of that quality particularly if we ever lose Cesc, drop Nasri central and play Hazard and Theo wide with RVP central make I come see the maga who dem born well to come pack bus for emirati. |
proudly9ja:True, but some synergies just don't seem to work between some players, it is obvious that team was not in sync, passes goin to where players didn't want them and all, the performance was disjointed but immediately Cesc came in it all changed around, just like it did when Wilshere came in against Wigan too. Surely Arsene shld knw which players combine well by now? why undo all the good work yu've done with dodgy selections or dodgy arrangements? This Arsenal team is strong enof to carry 1 or 2 passengers, particularly if they offer something different and are willing to put a shift in like Theo but when yu've got Bendtner as RWF, an aging Rosicky and Denilson lacking in agression in MF couple with Arshavin who despite his brilliance just can't be bothered to turn up atimes then yu're asking for hair raising moments like we got today. We were well capable of thumping that Leeds team on another day on the strength of what we did after Cesc and Theo came on but we greatly underperformed today until it was almost too late. |
@proudlynaija Schmeichel belongs to Leeds now, City chose Hart over him. |
Whew, thank god my heart is still strong, I've got to hold my hand up, Arsene almost shot himself in the foot here. Please never ever play Rosicky in Cesc's role again and stop these massive changes abeg. Too many square pegs in round holes and underperforming players. Imagine a team having one of our own players that Arsene considers not fit for our first two teams comin to beat us at the emirates? Today was solely Arsene's fault, I hope such is not repeated. This is the second time this attempt has failed and lessons should be learnt quickly when its not costly. |

what sort of rubbish is this?
JET in a team that got r.aped in this manner ? I want to believe that there is more to this than meets the eye . . .
