Dont twist the issues Ubuntu, you initially said the kids lose at under age level and also lose to chelsea when they get older, all Debo has done is to point out that our trophy haul in recent years at youth level has been more than what chelsea have won at the same level. Chelsea won the FA youth cup last year and Arsenal won it the year before, besides Arsenal won the PL U18 academy league last year so they still won something at that level. Most teams can't even get one graduate from youth level into their first teams but at present Arsenal's first team squad is almost 50% made up of graduates from the Arsenal youth setup, anyone who says the youth setup isn't working for arsenal is smoking some cheap hashish. |
@Poster, just 3 general points for you to consider, at the end of the day yu'll need to make yur decisions as you see fit while having at the back of your mind that you and only you will live with those decisions in the future. 1. People who ask for respect and consideration should also actively give such. 2. It takes two to fight, it takes one to dish out a beating. 3. Leadership is taking responsibility for fixing issues and not apportioning blame. Finally, and the most important one in my opinion. 4. If you can't stand the heat, get the hell outta the kitchen. |
debosky:May Iya Nasiru's supply never run dry amin ase edumare. toba:are yu implying she's been kinapped by DK? ![]() according to usually reliable sources, she'll be back soon. much earlier than Vermaelen. (for more info, yu can see that god forsaken Munschit thread being kept alive by DK's soliloquys) |
proudly9ja:Its partly good, they'll learn the other aspects as they grow and they shld learn from defeats like this. Its exactly the same way Connor Wickham knocked us out last season, its now Lalkovic this season. That set that won it 2 seasons ago could do both the finesse part of the game as well as the ugly part, the 2 sets since haven't been tactically smart enof. |
proudly9ja:a bit of a pity, that team was strong enough to win the youth cup again but it seems the set of Aneke/Afobe/Miquel will never lift it, I'm happy for them they won the U18 PL last season so they did win something at youth level cos the current set don't seem strong enough to win it this season, so its the set of Bunjaku et al for next season one can look forward to. |
proudly9ja:abi o, that Lalkovic boy don dey cause wahala all day, they should have kept an eye on him. |
proudly9ja:Got injured while on loan at Yeovil and probably still recuperating, not sure he is still eligible for the youth cup. |
proudly9ja:Remember its Chelsea TV commentators on the stream and the boys are playing away, they aint doin too badly and have the same faults as the first team can be accused of most times trying to play too much. You can see the way Chelsea are only interested in getting the ball into our box as quickly as possible while our boys are still trying to pass the ball all the way from our keeper into their net. ![]() |
Afobe doesn't look sharp upfront, he's just back from injury while on loan at Huddersfield. A bit of a pity Alban Bunjaku is not even on the bench. |
FA youth cup match on here Chelsea v Arsenal at Stamford bridge. Arsenal is leading 1 - 0 and Josh McEachran, Aneke, Afobe and Ignasi Miquel are all playing. http://www.premium--tv.com/vip-tv-1.php This our new argentine goalkeeper Emilio Martinez is gonna be quality. Interesting that its not only our first team that shoots themselves in the foot, Ignasi Miquel and the keeper just gifted chelsea an equalizer due to bad communication. ![]() |
dayokanu:But we all know Debo isn't serious, what he meant was that he would wear it for a role playing romp with mamagee, na you no get the code. ![]() |
dayokanu:Na so your own go be, you think say na everybody dey take bra cover eye like yu before dem fit sleep? ![]() |
follypimpi:No problems, as long as Denilson doesn't take his place. that reminds me, when is my favorite spindly legged player gonna be back. ![]() |
Some people won't like this if it is true. Reports say Miquel might start today so Arsene can rest Djorou who is still being gradually brought back, I hope that doesn't mean Djorou has suffered a setback too. |
debosky:I don't think anyone can deny Arshavin's productivity in the attackin half, its his entire workrate and body language that's annoying. Complaining about Arshavin is just like me complainin about Theo to annoy A-40, you just feel there is a whole lot more they are not doing but is needed by the team. On days when they are below par, it then almost looks like they aint good enof. slimshay:But then even Debo doesn't disagree say him no dey serious naa na when he disagree yawa go gass. For example Denny no deny say him no be leader but Cesc fit disagree. ![]() |
Hehehehehe, you are already taking side when Cesc already tagged it misunderstanding and Wilshere posited that the team spirit is too strong to be broken by this kind of report.
Kay, wetin yu want Cesc and Wilshere to say? say dem dey fight? ![]() to resolve this fully, I think Denny needs to come out and explain what he was trying to say, why can't Denilson himself encourage the others when the going gets tough? ![]() Why can't he be a leader if he notices a dearth of leadership? We've had leadership where Gallas was shouting at everyone and we all saw where that went didn't we? Now we have a cool leader who leads by example and someone is still complainin. what arrant nonsense, the thing vex me no be small. |
slimshay:TBH Slim, I was worried about Cesc's statement after the Leeds match cos it was out of character actually calling out a team mate, the only time he's ever spoken like that was after the debacle at the Porto first leg last season. Anyway you look at it, Denny's statement is either dumb or childish and no amount of leadership will help him with that, its either there is something lost in translation or he is still incapable of expressing himself clearly in English. It is silly to say your team is lacking in leadership cos that means you are not a leader yourself hence a liability to the team. |
There's no way his comments could be an aftermath effect of Cesc's reaction to the penalty conceeded. The interview was allegedly conducted before the match on the 5th of January. ARSEBLOG
Oh, the chronological order of things is reversed. that actually makes things worse and might actually explain why Cesc bucked his usual quiet leadership style to make the dig at Denny's professionalism is there any possibility of him having gotten snippets of that interview somehow?Whichever way it is Kay, I know whose side I'm on here cos I know who has exhibited leadership ability between the two players and Arsene needs to do something about this and not just back slapping photos. This was how Gallas' and Toure's wahala started and you know how that went. |
proudly9ja:Denilson is talking bollocks, no amount of leadership will compensate for him not tracking back his man or conceeding silly penalties in our box, is he now saying the team will go on a losing run if the captain is injured? I understand he is only trying to hit back at Cesc in his own way due to Cesc's comment about 'professionalism' after he conceeded a penalty in the box. I did think at the time that Cesc shouldn't have passed such comments about a team mate no matter how right it was. Only a dumbass will question leadership in his own team, leadership is all about taking responsibility for your own actions first and then for others if they choose to be irresponsible, if he wasn't on the way out before I want him out of the team ASAP. |
dayokanu:Despite having all the best players in the German league? being 16 points behind Dortmund, a club that almost went broke a few years back is bordering on the ridiculous. What is your excuse? |
DK, HOW MARKET for una shitty league? na so una standards fall reach within one season? Highly unbecoming if Bayern can't dominate a one team league ![]() |
At least this is some closure, I hope he can in some way pay for what he has done. Did he have to kill him? isn't robbing him more than enough? |
Some friends are saying he's being loaned as a direct replacement for Bothroyd who is attracting offers from the PL. If that is true then it would make a lot of sense. He should be ahead of Chopra as Debo says so it should be between him and Parkin for the big man role as Cardiff always plays with one and I believe he can edge it if Bothroyd is out of the picture. |
That is quite strange Slim, a bit of a pity no PL club willing to give him a chance, I really thought Holloway would. They must have guaranteed him playing time though which is the critical thing at this stage of his development. It is all in his hands though and if he can help them qualify for the PL then they should willingly take him back for the early part of next season as Leeds have so far done with Watt who helped them qualify for the championship from League 1 last season with them now pushing for a PL promotion. At least Andy Carroll was playing in the Championship last season but he is now a proven PL hotshot. |
proudly9ja:Alas, so it has to be and we will still lose more promising prospects unfortunately. Merida and Nordtveit gone already and more will follow for sure. |
@Slim No fexx joo, na slip of Keyboard, still miss Nordtveit though, the guy had enof quality but there was no space for him. I meant to refer to Ignasi Miquel. ![]() |
Ifedisky:alright got yur point but it sounded like he had promised to deliver Cahill or something of the sort. ![]() Ifedisky:Actually I think Kos is one of our most switched on defenders, he gets a lot of wrong stick in my opinion just cos he aint physical, in terms of concentration and anticipation of danger, he is easily the best reader of the game and he does get his fair share of aerial balls, it is strange also that despite his slight build he's actually never been bullied by anyone and he's been up against most of the physicall target men apart from the Giants of Stoke. Drogba, Carroll, Davies and Carew have all tested him and he hasn't been found wanting one on one. Infact he gave Priskin so much problems he had to move on to DJ before he got any joy. Someone pointed out a statistic that we've only conceeded 3 goals more than the best defence in the PL this season, in a defence that is wholly new and not even a stable partnership that is credit worthy particularly for the most attacking team in the league that plays a very high line and commits players forward with seeming reckless abandon atimes. |
hannie:I think he kicks with his right, NO? I go look am again, didn't notice he uses his left. Most of his kicks end up on the left though and with the opposition. ![]() Why all of una dey pee una pants over CB? No need to fear cos we've got Miquel. ![]() seriously though, I think Arsene needs to buy, and he will buy even if na temporary cover. Can we get Vidic on loan? ![]() |
debosky:He will buy I think, but I won't expect any big name or big money signing, this is a stop gap at the end of the day. His two big signings for the CB role are Vermaelen and Koscielny, if not for Vermaelen's injury we wouldn't really need to buy. I however don't want to see Big Sol again, A Squillaci class signing (same age range and ability wise but with a little more strength and agidi) would do just fine. We need to save that money to bring in Hazard in the summer. ![]() |
Ifedisky:Did Arsene ever tell you he wanted to buy Cahill? ![]() |
Rio Ferdinand "lost" his man(Crouch) against the Spuds today that almost resulted in a goal, does that in any way reduce his stock as a great defender ![]() There is no defender, however good that WILL not make a "silly" mistake every now and then so that argument doesn't fly with me at all. That said, what we are looking for is a cover till Vermaleen is back,do you really think baba Ijebu will pay out of his nose for any of these over-priced English dudes?
No mind Debo, I don't think either of Jagielka and Cahill can cost less than 15m, infact yu might hear of humongous sums like 20m for any of those 2 just like Lescott cost then to Citeh, someone suppose slap the mumu manager who will put that kind of money down if an unsettled Samba is available for 6 - 8 m. Besides, we already have those kain refined ball playing felefele CBs aplenty so Samba brings something else and that chap na real warrior with some decent ball playing skills too. I also think his beef with Blackburn isn't like Gallas wahala, infact I was surprised he didn't go as far as making a doodle on the Ewood park pitch just to thumb his nose at the new owners for sackin Allardyce without any justifiable reason. @Dr Kit We all love Alex, but he should stop that thing abeg, when a man is open to pass to, why take unnecessary risks? he is still better at it than Denilson though, that chap usually falls and concedes possesion without any action from the ref. |
So which CB are we going for now that cyberdine systems is taking our beloved Verminator in for repairs? I vote for Chris Samba all the way. |
