I use camry 03 too and my fuel consumption was the same as yours until i did a few tinx.
1. Check for engine light and scan to know the problem but if no engine light then

2. Clean or change air filter

3. Change ur plugs to iridium plugs

4. Check ur coil and change bad once.

5. Ensure ur tires are well guaged.

Now i use 3k for 11k or more and take note also of

I don’t dead drive
I don’t drive beyond 80km/h
I don’t use ac wen no rider is with me
I don’t brake abruptly wen driving
I don’t accelerate fast wen the traffic light turns green.

Lastly don’t allow ur fuel enter reserve

Peace.

May Day may day on Thursday morning, fuel tanker fell off the Cliff on that ramp linking to airport road from ladipo. Serious fire like tornedo.

Traffic advice; avoid road from cele towards ladipo from d main express follow iyana itire or ijesha toward ojuelegba then find ur way from there.

while from oshodi towards cele, better take the airport road then use ajao estate to aswani then buss out at the express then continue ur journey.

Don't mind them... Na bad belle people.

I always say, "a person who always pin point faults in everybody he works with or relates with is tje one a with problem".

How possible it is that even with how talented and hardworking Nigerians are, yet we dont/won't have one, just 1 good and competent mechanic that have at least 70% knowledge on electric cars. Is that possible?
And all our mechanics are bad. Lies!

I know a few good people, not everybody is bad.
Sometimes i wonder if they have tasted all the mechanic before this there unwholesome verdict. And this people wey de talk this kind thing no dey Nigeria oo

I currently use a Pruis will be 2 yrs next month in Nigerian roads no major fault and I haven’t spent one dime on “the Kazeems” .. had a challenge at first in finding the right mechanic when I needed to do oil change but all that is story now..if you’re very observant you will notice more Pruis cars in lagos roads of recent “don’t they know the battery is expensive? Why are pple Shipping it more into 9ja? Every time I go for servicing I see loads of Pruis Uber drivers there (next time I go will snap) in btw my colleague at work has been using his Pruis since 2016 and only changed 2 battery cells till date.. . I can’t vouch for other Hybrids but Pruis remains a King..
Thanks so much for this, i do appreciate. One of my philosophy is, some ppl greater fears Are some few ppl greatest strength.

If na for naija , I wouldn't advice it naija mechanic still dey struggle for petrol cars and naija mechanic can only fix certain petrol cars , that self na try and error ..

For Yankee, me personally I wouldn't do it .. Even if na new one .. Parts too expensive and I fear the unknown down the line ..people use it for uber a lot.. Am not just an hybrid type car period
Please any hybrid use in the house mbok?

I need some one to debunk dru24 of his doubt about it in Nigerian roads. If Uber guys they use hybrid in US without no issues like that why can’t we.

Fuel is becoming expensive cos am very sure sey DEMDEM fit still increase price soon, wen dem see sey we Nigerian are getting comfortable with the current price boom e don skyrocket.

I see the hybrid everywhere in lagos now.

Some ladies are just not nice at all.
Presently on a trip to Osapa London from V/I. After phase-1 she said she's having a stop over at Blenco to get some stuffs.
On getting there i politely told her i don't like to wait more than 5min.
She responded; it will be more than that o.
That she has to search for the items and have to pay as well and afterall shebi her trip is reading!!!
I calmy explained to her that 10/min isn't good for me cos i would have covered several miles in same time.
Her response shocked me but i just mumu for her......She said is 100 naira not ok for 10mins; this is just January and i want ti make the whole money for the year...Me just smile and kept my cool. She spent about 25mins though!!!
Henceforth me will be avoiding all this rubbish stops, Na so i carry two girls from hard rock in landmark beach, immediately den enter dey said they will have a stop at opposite oniru private beach to greet a fwend.

Please i can’t wait more than 5 minutes i said and they promised me 2 minutes is Enough for them, dey didn’t show up in 25 minutes i was so angry cos dat 25 minuts means so much na so i End the trip den send my account to them to pay my 700 naira.

You have to give Honda great credit .. Can you believe some civic Hybrid go far back from either or 2003 to 2004 .. I see them alot civic Hybrid 2004 .. Honda was way ahead of its time just like Toyota was......And it seems those Civic hybrid held up pretty well....

That been said , I will not advice anyone to get hybrid in Nigeria.. Our local mechanics are still learning normal petrol cars grin work never finish yet for that ..

Even for Yankee mechanics tend to avoid hybrid cars .you need special mechanics for tbose cars, not try error mechanics they do for naija .... And with hybrid you must follow owners manual with seriousness , petrol cars naija people no dey read manual na for hybrid cars dey wan read now ....lol

Take heart my brother ,be simple avoid hybrid for the reasons I stated above
But one can still drive it for personal na?

I too much like the way Felicity dey explain things, experience teaches you well than talk of mouth.

1k fuel can actually carry u from oshodi to Lekki and back with ac on. To me i feel most drivers don’t know how to drive i.e accelerating, braking and maneuvering, if u can’t master this u are not a driver.

Some just love stepping on the gas down to d metal and step on brake wen they are close to stopping point and expect good fuel consumption.

The way people Fire their Corolla wen the stoplight turn green i wonder what is chasing them, especially wen your car is not a racer car.

Na To drive Prius or Honda Civic hybrid de hungry me.

Please guru in the house @dru24, radauto, and those that have used it before to throw more light on the cars mentioned above I’ll really appreciate. Thanks

Guys please away from the SAME back and forth gbas gbos, I need clarification on some issues with BOLT.

1. Does cancellation (without exhausting the wait time) or declining of trips affect your rating? I started this week with a rating of 4.98 from 4.83 (I think) and at present it is 4.60.

2. It appears Bolt still charged their 20% after the completion of the 25trips for the week. I completed the 25trips on Tuesday or Wednesday (I think) and for subsequent days when I checked the NET as against the money made, I realized 20% was deducted as against 10% which was supposed to be deducted.

Your inputs would be appreciated.
Thank you my brother. I tot i was the only one that noticed ur number 2 point. They are still charging 20% after completing the campaign target. Have reach out to them they have not replied. All drivers should check their earnings now incase of any abnormally.

In respect of case 1 i my self don tire of bolt rating system right now my rating of 4.4 from 4.8.

Yes you should have stayed out of it. It's not always about you.

You need to understand that everyone has a right to spend their money how they deem fit. You're not entitled to see anyone's weekly expenditure or as you put it, correct narrative of driver earnings because, no driver spends money the same.

Simple question. Who earned highest? You don't need to see how I spent the 150k I made on my dashboard to believe I earned 150k. What's that all about?

This is what I now tell riders when I accept unfavorable request I wouldn't want to embark on.

If rider doesn't call immediately after I'd accepted tye request I wouldn't want to go, I arrive then start waiting.

If rider eventually calls these are some of my responses;

My car just developed a fault please request another ride.
Take for instance if rider and I are in Isaac John Ikeja, I say, "ha! Me I'm in jibowu, oshodi, stadium oh". I give them one far distance. No one will tell them to cancel on their own.

But, should the person not cancel afterwards I wait 5min n then cancel. To me this is where I think I prefer driving with Bolt. But with Uber? Omo those guys are the greatest hoodlums though I'm still their president grin. It's either you cancel or you drive to PU and cancel after 5min because most of their riders will never want to cancel... na there I go know say Nigerians value money grin

I really don't know how things work with them now because they give me 600yrs grin...yeye people

I've stayed out of this but honestly dru, if he was going to your mechanic I don't see how he was putting 20W50 in your car. Unless the car was shorting oil, there are a million reasons why it was in the trunk. If it wasn't shorting oil, it makes sense why your oil was at home- it wasn't needed until it was time for the next oil change. I do think you need to query your mechanic because if he does it once, he'll do it again. Or is it the one you no longer use already in which case it doesn't matter.

As for the other stuff of going out of town, I comment my reserve because you won't like my opinion. But for the oil, from what you describe, I don't think he did it.
Exactly what i have been thinking Ma,

Besides if a car is shorting oil, u will only be doing the top up at home early in the morning, ull definitely not topping it anytime of the day and also not be carrying the oil keg around.

The 20w50 u saw was it filled with oil when it was found in the trunk?

I still believe there is a miscommunication and prejudice is what is happening here.

I just remembered I've not updated this post.

...

The younger brother to the guy that made the transfer came...

Me: pls call your bros I haven't seen the alert.
He came, opened the door and sat.
R: I've been debitted, this is my house, you can come back here and check me if you don't get it.
Me: you didn't confirm my name b4 sending, you just said sent and you left what of you sent to the wrong account?

Guy was tense at this point trying to look for my name on his debit alert but couldn't find any.

10min, 15min past we were still deliberating on the issue...yet alert never showed.

His parents where out already and the old man was suggesting to call the police so we can go to the station and settle the matter I just look am and chuckled at his ignorance and naivety.

Guy was just talking back n front, how Zenithbank deducted almost a 100k from his sis's account bla bla... Me I was just quiet looking at him to either resend the money or I see it drop into my account. If it comes in double I send back you money. They all objected.

Me: You see? But you guys want me trust you right? Oga pls pay me my money let me leave it's already late.

na so we dey oooh... Guy was just talking plenty how I'm embarrassing and abusing his integrity. I never knew silence could do that. grin

Finally, alert dropped after 55min.

This my 2nd coming on Bolt my modus operandi has changed and this is one of it.

No one leaves till I confirm payment. No matter how little thw money is. I kept a rider waiting for almost 30min on Monday as I and my present rider were waiting for me to see alert.

On Friday, another rider waited at Okota B/S for almost 20m while I await alert of 6.5k from Union bank from a guy I brought his gf from Surulere, rider eventually cancelled after several calls.

So guys lets learn to wait rather than face the pain of calling riders to pay up a debt.
Thanks bro for this cos if we don’t wait to confirm na we e de pain pass. Na so ib carry 3 yahoo guys on Thursday from adetola to leisure ended trip and it was 1200 rider said he want to do transfer then after every every he said he as paid but up till now i nova see alert. I text the rider he said i should hold on for some time i will see alert. I called him he started shouting that look at this one ooo i have paid u and u are asking for more whether i want him to pay twice?

I shock den i just decided not to call him again. See let’s not trust all this small boys that we perceive their kind of work, vis a vis they can do it to us too. My new resolution now wait until i see alert hence am not going any where.

See guy dont give ur self unnecessary panic. My camry consumes 1 litre every week and after a month i change d oil. I have been using it like that for over a year now and my engine is performing well. I have in mind to change the engjne soon. So I’ll advice u if the car is not for uber then just continue maintaining that engine of yours like that and it will still serve you 3 to 5 more years. And lastly dont allow the oil to go down totally before u top it. Peace
