ratiken: You my friend is a Size 38 FOOL. Stay on topic and stop derailing this important thread

On topic: We need to test out Nano silver before discarding it. The speed at which the US condemned this option supports many conspiracy theories.
Even if the US goverrment did not come out to question this mystery silver, i would have done so. For christ sake where is the research to support this nanosilver? Are we that ignorant in this country?

phreakabit: Well thought up question. . . Although my 5 year old cousin would have done exceptionally better. I am not sure how vast your knowledge on intricate things like these are, but if you have been song some deep study "research" I am sure you'd have come across Nano silver and foodgrade hydrogen. Peroxides in a handful of ocassions. Do some research before trying to be smart. BTW, the US citizens who got Zmapp consented to its use.
ok you and your 5year old cousin can do me a favour and provide online links with results of animal or clinical trials of nanosilver. Provide links showing the location of the manufacturer of nanosilver or the researchers, the laboratory where these trials have been performed and any previous literature from the researchers. If you think its ok for ebola patients to just drink any medication because it has been labelled as an ebola treatment, why can't they drink the concoction of the babalawo in ogun state.
HealthRe: Lagos Rejects Ebola Trial Drug, Nano Silver by duni04(m): 12:51pm On Aug 16, 2014
phreakabit: Very true, but that is what make this situation even more laughable. Some ethical questions comes to mind upon careful introspection.
1, Should we just fold out arms n watch them die or should we try something?
2, Since we say bitter kola is a hoax, Nano Silver looks like our only option at the moment. . . What next?
3, Shouldnt we allow Ebola patients consent to treatment with Nano Silver?
4, If nano silver does cure Ebola should the cured be put into observation again for some weeks just to monitor their health and behavior before allowing them back into public? I think they should.
If most of Ur answers to theae queation are yes the I don't see whe y dey shhouldnt be treated with nano silver.
I have a question for you. I read in the papers last week that one herbalist in ogun state has a cure for ebola. Do we get the consent of the Ebola patients to be treated by this babalawo in ogun state?

cyunited: If it was a white man that developed the drug,it would not have been a pesticide. The Whites deliberately called or it such cos they can't just allow a nigerian have the solution to such a big problem, they should always be the solution provider.how do we continually look up to them and be at their mercy if we become independent by allowing a nigerian have the solution to a world problem? They will surely lose their respect worldwide so they have to fight to keep that respect.
If it was a white man that developed that drug fasholaw would not bait an eyelid b4 administering the drug, let's do away with the mentality of the whites being better than us.Giving the same environment we would do better.
If fashola insist on not using the drug let him provide an available alternative or the fg should enforce usingt or testing of the drug after all fashola is not bigger than Nigeria or the president.
Sister please buy mb and do research online. Stop with all this paranoia, nobody is hunting you or chasing you. A fraudster from somewhere with no previous antecedents or research is trying to dupe Nigeria of millions of dollars in the name of nanosilver. Has anybody sat down to consider the fact that maybe the manufacturers of zmapp in the US are trying to forestall any future litigation that may arise from harmful side effects of zmapp? If the drug company in the US releases the drugs to Africans and Africans start dropping dead, we'll be the first to start screaming that they're using us as guinea pigs.
Most of these things require simple common sense and online research. I understand that people lack common sense but what about researching online first before posting comments online
HealthRe: Lagos Rejects Ebola Trial Drug, Nano Silver by duni04(m): 10:09am On Aug 16, 2014
Xmen149: What if NANO-SILVER is the chief secreat ingredient in ZMAPP and dey dnt wnt us to put our mind der b/c that will make them invalid to us.....what if the reason THE NIGERIAN SCIENTIST INVOLVED has not been mentioned is because he spied(or once worked with the Zmapp company or was the serum developer back then) & got a copy of the main ingredient & decided to aid his mother land......its simple,.get d drug, test it on animals,.if safe then #save_our_people
The people that created zmapp told us they got it from tobacco extracts, its online check it. We know the names of the zmapp researchers, we know their lab, we know their sponsors, we have access to their previous research articles online, we have access to the results of their animal trials. Everything is online. But who is the maker of this nanosilver? What is his name? Who are his researchers? Where are his research articles? You don't know but you want someone's husband, someone's wife and kids to drink nanosilver. Doesn't it sound ridiculous to you?

hope you get my 'rant'
Oga i'm sorry to say but its you that is ignorant. The body in Nigeria responsible for testing experimental drugs is NAFDAC. If NAFDAC doesn't want to test a drug for whatever reason, the Lagos state government has the right not to allow the use of an untested drug within its domain. When the WHO said it was ethical to use experimental drugs for the treatment of ebola, they were referring to drugs that have at least passed trials in animals but hadn't been tested on humans. Nobody knows the effect of nanosilver on animals or even humans because it has never been tried! Nobody even knows who the makers are or their location. Its a big scam!
HealthRe: Lagos Rejects Ebola Trial Drug, Nano Silver by duni04(m): 9:40am On Aug 16, 2014
Haishophem: Does that mean that we have no scientist that can test the effectiveness of Nanosilver, as done with Zmapp on monkeys. Inferiority complex @ it's highest order. The western world wants this and it's happening already, they want African countries to come begging for the drug after launching out this EVD attack on the continent. Even if there's a certified drug from NAFDAC for EVD and un certified from America's FDA then does mean that Lagos state govt will reject same?
There is no way NAFDAC will even certify that Nanosilver scam because there is no literature on its use for treatment of ebola either in apes or humans. Its a bloody scam! Honestly i must applaud the ingenuity of this yet nameless "Nigerian in the diaspora" scammer. He has succeded in scamming an entire country! Incredible!

Please I beg politician in the name of God to stop playing politics with people's life
This is a ridiculous idea. You can't just use people's lives to try out a drug whose manufacturer no one knows and whose side effects no one knows. Why not volunteer one of your family members to try this nanosilver scam
HealthRe: Lagos Rejects Ebola Trial Drug, Nano Silver by duni04(m): 9:02am On Aug 16, 2014
hollandis: Shut the hell up.Nanosilver has no known adverse effect.Did zmapp cure the spanish priest? Everyyhing from white man is good to you
A study published in November 2013, found that Ebola virus infected macaque monkeys survived after being given a therapy with a combination of 3 EBOV-GP-specific monoclonal antibodies (ZMAb), within 24 hours of infection. Also, two of four other monkeys that started therapy within 48 hours after infection also survived. The authors concluded that post-exposure treatment and a second lethal exposure after 10 and 13 weeks resulted in a robust immune response. (wikipedia)
The spanish priest probably died because his treatment with zmapp started late or he was too old ( he was 75) for his body to provide any immune response to the virus.

Please can you provide any literature on the treatment of ebola with Nanosilver?

Please tell us the name of this Nigerian scientist in the diaspora? Has he conducted any previous research? Where are his research articles on the internet? Where is his lab? What is the address? If the nanosilver 419 doesn't work how do we contact him? At least we know the address of the makers of zmapp.

Is it because it is connected to FG(PDP) that the drug was rejected

Pls oooooo

Lagos state give the drug a trial on monkeys before rejecting. Stop playing politics with peoples lives
Is that the job of the Lagos state government? Don't we have a federal ministry of health and NAFDAC?

nora544: Nano Silva where it was tested that it works on animals or on humans all the informations go to one doctor in America Rima E. Laibow

That you can test Ebola you need a high secure laboratory

Not every country has this, and I can tell you no Country in Europa who have this high secure laboratory makes a test wit Nano Silva

We go now to america there is also no test on animal that it can cur ebola because that you can work with it you need the american goverment that you get the okay so no private person can work on it.

So africa has this high security laboratory in Dakar/Senegal belong to WHO, Uganda and south africa work together with the WHO

This information I got from a friend of my daughter who works in UK as a scientist and he is american.

So where could this nigerian Doctor test this drug or this other doctor from america please ask you this.
This entire nanosilver rubbish is a 419 scam. The name of the so called Nigerian scientist based in the US is still unclear, there is a fictituous foundation behind it and the most glaring red flag is that the nanosilver is available online, like the FDA said. These are all features of a well thought out scam. Nigeria's minister of health is the most unintelligent id.iot there ever was.

It strongly affirms that Ebola is curable only with the same much alligned NANO SILVER.
Na oyibo talk am o.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=D7wNfRCuOZE
M sure this is the video the Nigerian fraudstars showed to our minister of health to gain approval for that 419 nano silver rubbish. They just got a white woman with a phoney name to pretend to be a doctor and talk rubbish. Nobody anywhere is allowed to carryout research into ebola without the necessary regulatory approval. If there is a Nigerian somewhere claiming he's based in the US and has developed a treatment for it, which the regulatory authorities in the US can't confirm then it means Nigeria is about to be scammed by a very daring 419ner. Americans are developing vaccines and Africans are developing conspiracies.

If you were right, Liberia and Gunea would have recorded more deaths since February. You can see even from the number of deaths from those countries that the disease is not spreading to thousands of people because the disease does not spread like some of you try to portray it

HealthRe: Breaking: Ebola Goes Out Of Control As 21 Quarantined In Enugu - Fg by duni04(m): 8:30am On Aug 14, 2014
theoctopus: Dont spread false information. The virus can only be transmitted when the infected person has fully started showing symptons. The virus is dangerous because there is no cure yet, but its mode of transmission makes it a bit difficult to transfer. The biggest problem in its spread is ignorance and irresponsibilty on the part of the carrier
Bros these things are not stringent. Ebola itself as a disease has not been fully understood. Its exact mode of transmission and life cycle are still understudy. To say its mode of transmission is difficult sounds naive as ebola is about the easiest disease to transfer to someone else. You get ebola not just by contact with a carrier, but also contact with things a carrier has already touched. People are mistaking the body fluids contact to mean contact with blood, it way easier than that.

sandijey: All I no is. Liberia and other west African countries have been battling wiv it since the outbreak, not up to 1000 people have died. If u follow Nigerian press, people will die before the ebola gets to them. Especially nairaland news. If it was so contagious 1 million people will be dying per day. Its just basic hygiene. Even bird flu that was airborne or so, did millions of people die? This is a phase. It will pass.

If it was so bad then nobody would eat again. The food u buy do u no who is cooking it? Even fast food restaurants do u no who is baking and doing all sorts, the bread and tomatoes and meat. Even vegetables do u no where it's coming from. etc. the money u collect in the bank, market, conductors, do u no whose hands it has touched...... stop panicking and just be hygienic and off course be prayerful to. none of us shall be at the right place at the wrong time like the patient that the dead nurse gave the virus too.
Recipe for disaster. FYI, more than a thousand people have actually died since the outbreak began. People should be worried and take precautionary measures. When there is plenty of awareness and enlightment, people will know how to protect themselves. Ebola is here and we can't simply sit down and wish it away.
HealthRe: Breaking: Ebola Goes Out Of Control As 21 Quarantined In Enugu - Fg by duni04(m): 8:36pm On Aug 13, 2014
Reference: This is the kind of rubbish talk that has continued to kill people since March in The Guinea, Liberia and Serria Leone, under-estimating the sheer aggression of this virus. I say and I say again. No one is certain about how and when this disease is spread. Even experienced handlers in full bio gear have died. Wisdom is on the side of extreme caution, viruses do not have timers, they don't have calendars, they respect no one. You can transmit a typical virus minutes after 'catching' it. Until the science is complete I will treat ebola as virile as the influenza virus. It is either we do this or conceed the battle, simple. There is too much laxity everywhere concerning this epidemic. If it was domiciled in the Americas, Europe or Asia the WHO will have raised greater alarm, we should not test the resolve of this virus to do serious damage.
very true

djeezy: This ebola is spreading like wildfire because Nigerians are not taking it seriously. We joke sbout everything and jeopardise our health. We were blaming the liberian and laying curses on him for bringing the dreaded disease into our country. But here is a Nigerian nurse who ought to know the health implications of mobility without restraints and who the gov averred was under quarantine travelled and has come in contact with so many people. For the sake of all of us. lets hope the experimental drug works.
That's the tragic and scary part of this case, she ought to have know better as a health care practioner. If someone in health care can throw caution to the wind and put so many lives at risk the way this nurse has done, i wonder what an ordinary uninformed Nigerian would do. We should all be worried!
