Goes to show that there is nothing like awoof in this country. If Nigeria is giving you something free, just expect the worst to come out of it.Their parents should have made contigency plans incase of the Nigerian factor, which is what is happening now.
PoliticsRe: Boko Haram: Soldiers Mutiny, Demand Better Equipment by duni04(m): 9:16pm On Aug 19, 2014
The question we should be asking is where has the $14billion Jonathan budgeted for defence between 2011 and 2014 gone? The same systemic problems (corruption, bureaucracy, nepotism) that have crippled our power sector, health sector and education are now cripping in to affect our national security. We have an Army chief of staff that was only appointed because he's from Jonathan's hometown! How will you defeat boko haram with that level of nepotism? If we can't defeat corruption and nepotism, we won't defeat boko haram. Its very simple

Foreign AffairsRe: Armed Men Attack Monrovia Ebola Clinic, 29 Patients Flee by duni04(m): 2:57pm On Aug 17, 2014
Eneze1: yes they have the right to be afraid but haven't you heard of cases where patients sneak out of isolation ward? or what is the assurance that those armed gunmen didn't intentionally break into the place to free some people
Good point. But i doubt if they were held against their will. Most people voluntarily surrender themselves for treatment so they don't infect family members. So it'd take someome who's completely ignorant of the disease to collude with a family member to break themself out of isolation.

PropertiesRe: COREN Wants Death Sentence For Owners Of Collapsed Buildings by duni04(m): 1:19pm On Aug 17, 2014
CzarChris: Last time I checked, a judge doesn't just sentence someone without a hearing, at least the owner would produce documents of the building includiing the structural design/plan endorsed with a COREN stamp by an authorised member/registered engineer and the plan would scrutinized if the BS codes where adhered to.
On being draconian, desperate times demand desperate measures, my thoughts though.
Oh i'm afraid that's not the case in Nigeria. Lets not all forget that obnoxious Anti kidnapping law in Anambra state where buildings housing kidnappers are pulled down, even without any court process. Somone just reads on the news that kidnappers stayed in a particular building and the next thing they do is pull the building down. With the way things work in Nigeria, people will just be killed immediately their buildings collapse without any investigation whatsoever.
Lets allow the law take its course. If a building owner is found guilty of using substandard building materials or not consulting adequately before erecting a building (after proper investigations have been carried out) he should be charged to court with involuntary manslaughter if anyone dies in the building collapse, or reckless negligence if there are no fatalities. Very simple. Lets implement the extant laws first instead of grandstanding and playing around with death sentencing.

Paroman: Nanosilver has absolutely nothing to do with Africa or a black African, dunno where this inconsequential goat got this crap from. Now when I tell you you are too stup1d for your own good, it will look like I actually hate you or something. Your main problem is that you are too dull, you shouldn't be allowed to converse with sane minds on the internet lest you infect them with your gross stupidity. grin

PropertiesRe: COREN Wants Death Sentence For Owners Of Collapsed Buildings by duni04(m): 10:20am On Aug 17, 2014
CzarChris: I'm really surprised at the comments above, its funny how most people reason.
Look at it this way you have a a loved one who happens to be killed in a collapsed building, all because the landlord decided to cut corners and use an unqualified individual to build his house and most of these buildings don't even have a structural design plan, the nature of the soil in that area is not put into consideration and the quack engineer(mason in most cases) use his experience in area A to build in area B.
My people say when you see the dead body of an unrelated person it looks like a log of wood, just wait till it happens to you then I'll see if you'll even wait for a court judgment before you strangle both the landlord and the quack 'engineer'.
As a professional, I support this law if ever its passed.
Also remember that it's usually mass slaughter when a building collapse.

NB: @Whizpeter, that COREN official that you say moves from airconditioned this to that was once a site engineer, he has paid his dues and is now riping the benefits. Don't hate son, only pray you'll reach his level or even exceed it. Then you can boast all you want.
You don't just make draconian laws like that. What if there's a really heavy thunderstorm and a building collapses?
The best form of regulation against building collapse is enforcing strict adherance to building codes, and increasing the capacity of regulatory agencies to properly investigate building collapses so when a building collapses, we know exactly why it collapsed, and not just blindly critizing people.

Hahahahaha foooollll!! You had to be painstakingly schooled over and over again by a woman ( carefreewannabe ) before your brain could even hit gear one. See what glo, mtn and airtel are doing to Nigerian youths! In the name of saving MB, nobody is ready to consult Google and lookup nanosilver or any literature (if any) on its use in treating ebola. Everyone is ignorantly bashing the US and supporting a "drug" whose founder they don't even know. Its a big shame!

tk4rd: If Nano silver can help., then, let it help..
Do we have a chance.?
If we don't have the zmapp, and we have something at hand already, do we wait for zmapp that we don't even have yet.?
Or do we wait until the people are about to die, so that we administer our nanosilver and watch the magic that might follow.?
Bros no magic will follow because that scam drug, nanosilver, has never been tested on even animals! You don't use drugs like that! You cause more harm than good.

Alexk2: I'm surprised that all you care to answer frm my many ?s is who invented the drug.
This nano-silver had been in exisitence for long and used for some other things thatz nt medically related...and i need not to ask google b4 repeating it that there must be an inventor or group of inventors for that....bt seriously, what is ur problem abt who invented it?...this is a critical situatn that needs urgent action with the same speed with which USA treated there own citizens....all i want to be sure of is that it wont have any negative side effect either itz a cure or not.
I'm very sure u'll be singing different song if one of ur relatves is among those already infected with the virus.
Lol this is just comic relief grin grin grin

MissMeiya: Maybe you need to read it again. The "inventor" was never named.

Ironically, nanosilver was invented years ago. Why doesn't anyone know how to use Google on Nairaland?
First female to make any sense on this thread. Kudos!

barcanista: we are not answerable to the US. They are NOT right to dictate to us as long as I am concerned.

#Nigeria Has Come of Age
The US didnt dictate anything to you, they just gave u facts. If you like drink the nanosilver. When another strain of ebola emerges, don't dare call for international support or help from the US.

slightlyMad: thanks, i was about saying this.
Monkeys are very close to us genetically and if something works for them, it may work for us.

Btw, the research says 10nm is what works against ebola, other NMs really did not work.
Madam which research did you get that one from? Journal of yahoo drugs?
