EducationRe: I Think Oau Ife Is Over Hyped by duni04(m): 9:47pm On Jul 26, 2014
As an ex student of OAU i totally agree with the OP's view. OAU is just a relic from the past. Academically, lecturers still use textbooks and lecture notes from their glory days in the 70'S and 80'S. Hostels are so terrible, cesspits infact. Moz, Angola and Faj are disasters waiting to happen. compared to schools like convenant and Landmark and most private Unis infact, OAU is a glorified secondary school.
To cap it up, OAU students and lecturers prefer staying at home and running their businesses to the school itself because the school is always on strike! Last year OAU was in session for just 4 months in the entire year. This year the school has only been in session for 4 months too. There's always a strike going on. Saying that OAU is the best uni in Nigeria is an insult to university education in Nigeria.
PoliticsRe: For Those Of Us Seriously Beating The Drum Of War. Is This What We Really Want? by duni04(m): 9:21pm On Jul 26, 2014
At the end of the day we're all different from each other in one way or the other. Fighting for tribal, national or racial superiority is just absurd and ridiculous and the effects of conflicts that arise from such are not worth the initial animosity.

Akshow: They didn't shot them. They shot in d air to disperse them before they now attacked the soldiers. U don't expect the soldiers to just look on with protecting themselves do u?
Disperse people holding a peaceful protest on what grounds? Plus the soldiers actually shot at them
PoliticsRe: Serious Fighting In Zaria by duni04(m): 12:19am On Jul 26, 2014
Akshow: U made some good observation but I will like to ask u a question. Is Nigeria palestine? Or Gaza? Or Israel? They seized the entire pz road and d soldiers on their way to patrol waited for the for over forty minutes so they can pass through but they didn't bulge. The various bring back our gals campaign across d globe wasn't aggressive and forceful. U know d volatile nature of d north. I can bet u anything that from this small demonstration, the next thing is dat they will start burning down churches, hotels, beer palours etc if the are not dispersed. I was born, bred, raised and schooled in d north, Zaria to be precise so Trust me when I tell u that were they not dispersed, something tragic would have happened.
Seizing the road for forty minutes for a peaceful protest justifies killing them?
PoliticsRe: Serious Fighting In Zaria by duni04(m): 12:16am On Jul 26, 2014
it is on record that the Boko Haram crisis started after a hitherto peaceful Islamic group was provoked into violence by harassment and extra judicial killing of their members. The killings were not systemic or ordered but occurred because poorly trained policemen who had little knowledge on how to tame riots and crowd control suddenly embarked on a killing spree. That was how boko haram became radicalised. Now with this knowledge on how boko haram emerged, is it wise for security operatives to start shooting at innocent and defenceless demonstrators carrying out a peaceful rally? Is the federal government preparing to provoke another islamic group into carrying up arms to defend themselves?

tuffgongjo: I will sit down, laugh my arse off,b4 taking a picture of him as a reminder.
lol nollywood answer. In reality a typical Nigerian man that has gone outside to hustle in Lagos for instance and comes back home to meet this kind of rubbish can murder that child.

He's a child, almost a baby so he's not deliberately trying to destroy or sabotage my life.

PoliticsRe: DSS Denies Arresting Ezekwesili by duni04(m): 8:32pm On Jul 21, 2014
ThankGodEdeh: When security agents do their work, you call GEJ. When you cant impregnant your wife, GEJ. I TIRE FOR UNA
So their work is to harass NGO's and politicians and not fight boko haram in the north, kidnappers in the east and oil thieves in the south? It is worthy of note that the Dss has probably arrested and interrogated more politicians, journalists and critics of the incumbent president than criminals and law breakers.
PoliticsRe: Why Nyako Fled Nigeria — Aide by duni04(m): 8:25am On Jul 21, 2014
VICTORCIZA: cowardice at its peak!!!
Who is the coward here? A governor who is courageous enough to accuse the president, and correctly so, of deliberately destabilizing the north. Or is it that mistake of a president that sits down in abuja with his trademark fedora of incompetence and his hippo wife, inducing state legislators with cash to impeach governors just because he's afraid of elections next year. Who's the coward?

duni04: Public service in nigeria is a joke. its not about rendering service or contributing to national development, it mostly about how much you can gleen from the government and the number of doors you can open for your friends and family members while doing nothing. Most of these guys, from university lecturers to doctors and NNPC workers, own their own businesses and consult in the private sector but they still want to eat from the national cake. its nothing but shameful greed

PoliticsRe: Is Boko Haram a pawn in the bigger political game? - Alexander Nekrassov by duni04(m): 8:35am On Jul 18, 2014
emk4lif: Not a fan of the APC but still the same rehashed accusations with little adduced evidence to back it up, I still believe Boko Haram is more religious than political, Shekau doesn't care whether you're PDP or APC, as long as you don't practice his own version of Islam, to him, you're an enemy. BH should be treated as the pure criminals they are and crushed.
very true but what the article says is that politicians are using the crisis to their advantage. PDP accusing the APC of complicity and APC accusing the PDP of incompetence while nobody wants to look at the true causes of the insurgency.

I know Hausa people that speak Yoruba and Yoruba people that speak Hausa. I also know Ibo people that speak both Hausa and Yoruba but I've never seen or heard any Hausa or Yoruba person speak Ibo in my life. I'm sure its easy to learn but it sounds very difficult from the outside.

uj_sizzle: Fidelity/Infidelity in marriage has more to do with the morality of an individual than the presence(or lack) of sexual adventures in one's life.
Passion, adventure and morality; are they all exclusive of each other or collectively exhaustive? Like is someone with high moral standards likely/unlikely to succumb to temptations of passion and adventure?

jumzzy448: hmm. may his soul rest in peace oo. that's why I hate living with dogs cos they can attack their owner anytime.
there was a day I was coming back from somewhere. I don't really know the place so I decided not to go with my car. when I came back, I was holding my documents in my hands. this useless dog was lying under the car ( its a rot weiler) don't know if I spelt it well. the dog was looking at me and I too was extra conscious. immediately I opened my gate to step in, it jumped up and wanted to attach me. I flung all my papers, my hand bag and even my slippers. I ran for my dear life. it was the gateman who had to hold the dog for me to pass.
when hubby came back and I told him, he said the dog was trying to greet me. I told him to tell his dog to hold his greetings cos I don't need it.
I beg hubby to move it out. now the dog is in hubby's home town..

Duke_Nija: Little wonder why parents no longer accept dowries all in the name of not selling their daughters. Looking at the way you and that Kid called Iya Ngba have been spewing your saliva all over this thread insulting people's opinions show you both lack good morals and tact to make good wives. Why won't yoruba parents protect their kids when they know they are giving out vipers to unsuspecting men.
If you are hurt that my money will not be coming to the SW, then work on your attitude. And pls stop quoting me. I'm not marrying you!
Abi. Upon d cheap price nobody still wants them
